Worked perfect! I like the LCD readout telling you the voltage, amperage, battery temperature, and much more. Charged 10 deep cycle batteries to proper 14.0 charging volts, and floated at 13.6 as industry standard, then back again. Could not ask for a better unit.

I purchased a second one for the second solar array of 5 panels I purchased. See my video here for installation instructions.

Only needs a flat blade screw driver to install. Back off the screws, insert wires, then tighten. All you have to do is follow the icons on the front to see where to place the wires. Shows + and terminals on the icons.

One solar panel input, one battery output, and a optional diversion load output for when the batteries are full and you want to make good use of the unused electrical power.

Exactly the product I expected. Functions to perfection. Actually have two of them running almost half a year now, non stop, without even a hic-up.

Best Deals for 60A LCD Solar Charge Regulator Controller 12V/24V PWM

Hi all, I am running this controller (30 Amp Version, basically the same) since April 2013 and should not complain about anything.

The device seems to be reliable, flexible and simple to use.

I am running a UHF Amateur Radio repeater and other Radio Transceiver from my residence and wanted to have some backup

system for the many power outages we all experience at random at some point.

In order to continue on I have to have some backup, that's when the 500 Watt Solar power with this controller came into the game.

Since I also run a few single board computer with websites etc. on it I have to have independent AC for those to continue to run

rather than using an UPS that shuts down after 5 Minutes.

The Computer run full time (about 100W) off a 1100W power inverter.

With 165 AH battery power the whole system can survive on Battery for about 18 Hours continuously, during loss of power.

This seems to be not very much and normally one would want to add more batteries to increase run time.

It is very unlike to go for longer periods of power loss unless we are absolutely doomed.

SORRY I DRIFTED AWAY FROM THE SUBJECT!

In brief, I am using the panels combined with AC power to have the batteries always at full charge.

If the Power goes down, I have 18 Hours of runtime and hopefully the Sun or AC shows up before discharge.

Connection is made via three pairs of screw on terminals, that can accept wire sizes up to 4 Gauge,

but this is somewhat tricky. There is a battery, solar panel and load terminal. The first two don't really need

much explaining. The load terminal can handle loads of up to 30A and can automatically switch off if the

battery voltage drops to a pre-set value. There are many more settings that relate to the

maximum charge voltage, low shut off, switch out the charge circuit and more. It keeps a statistic in AMP/Hr

which need a little guess to figure W/Hrs.

The only bad thing I have to say about the Charge Controller is that it generates a slight switching noise (PWM) that shows up in my Radio Gear.

Haven't done anything about it yet, but I think I can reduce it to a level that is acceptable for my Radio's.

This noise might show also up in Broadcast Radio receiver on AM.

Since in RV's, I suppose the AM radio would run off it's own Batteries, it may not be an issue.
