I bought this universal charger after returning a different charger that didn't fit my TomTom Via. The universal charger works very well and the convenience of being able to charge the GPS device at home and set up a route before departure is really nice, especially if the trip isn't very long. Also, on a longer trip it could charge the TomTom in a motel room for the next leg of the journey. The charger came with a small additional USB connection which I don't need for the TomTom Via, but it might fit another device, like a phone. It seems sturdy, not too big to be stowed with the TomTom in a larger carry case.

I returned this item because what is pictured is not what is in the box. Not included were the 3 plug adapters for European style outlets which I need when I travel there. This is misleading and dishonest. I still would like to have the wall charger but I need the adapters too.

The picture for the "universal" home charger shows three adapters for use in foreign countries. However, there are no adapters included. I sent the first one back and received another one but it did not have the foreign adapters either. I would not recommend ordering this as I feel it is falsely presented.
