The kit itself is fine, and works well. I would have given it a 5 except for the following issues:
1. The battery was dead, as in too dead to test the brakes. When I tested it, it was around 11.5 volts, and dropped to less than 10 when the brakes were actuated.
2. The o-ring in the battery box was not installed correctly, and was pinched in two places. I was able to remove and reinstall it, and it looks OK. There was also a screw missing from the box cover. If I had installed it as received, I'm sure water would have got into the box and caused problems eventually.
3. And this is the most disappointing. The installation instructions consist of a wavy, faint photocopy, one side of which was completely unreadable, except for the headings, such a "WARNING" and CAUTION" followed by unreadable text. Unfortunately that side also contained the step by step instructions. If you can read a wiring diagram, you're in luck, because there is a sharp, clear wiring diagram sticker right on the battery box. If you need step by step instructions, you're out of luck. You can download them from the internet, from a competitor's site.
Perhaps these things aren't that important, but how hard would it be include readable instructions?
