Bought this load tester for marine deep cycle batteries used on an annual brook trout trolling trip. After fully charging the maintained batteries...I was able to accurately tell which were 'usable' and which were to be 'retired'. I had been looking for a digital load tester for some time...this one does just what it's supposed to do.

I went for this slightly higher priced unit to get the automated 10 second test time and Digital read-out. Works pretty well. Buy this before you buy a battery or charger you muy not need. Use the handle the back/bottom gets hot. Let it cool before storing it away. The battery clamps should be a heavier gauge, I had to straighten mine. I've been sold on the brand for years. I have a Schumacher Charger/Starter over 25 years old a bit worn but still working.

I have two vehicles and bought this item to keep tabs on the condition of the batteries.

When I tested vehicle #1 I got a green light (OK reading).

When I tested vehicle #2 I got a green + yellow light. (OK but Weak.) I was not sure what that means after reading the instructions, The instructions says to read the load test result on the front of the tester to see if battery is OK or not.

If it is "OK" go up to 1st "OK" state. If it is not go down to 3rd "WEAK" state.

I was not sure what that meant so I went to the Schumacher Web site and found they

don't have anything on the digital testers. When I talked to customer service he was not sure but said he would have someone call me. I never got the call.

The product seems to work fine but their instruction sheet needs to be better

written for the average person.

Just like one of the other reviewers reported, mine worked exactly once then all it would display after that was some cryptic error code. As far as I'm concerned this product isn't worth the fifty bucks. If you have to have your own battery tester look elsewhere, this one is obviously a gamble.

This device worked well exactly once. After that, I get an error message of c6 which is explained exactly nowhere in any of the documentation. Of course, I am over the warranty period as this not something I use every day. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.
