This is a 3.0 amp hour battery made for Hitachi's cordless tools that use the slide-on style 18-volt lithium ion batteries.
It provides more power than the 1.5 amp hour battery but is slightly larger and heavier. I recommend this battery if you're using a tool that sucks power saw a circular or reciprocating saw.
You can get by with the smaller battery for the impact driver, drill, flashlight and some of the other cordless tools.
Takes a little longer to charge but well worth it for the extra power.

This does last longer than the 1.5 amp batteries of the same design, well worth the investment on a project that's taking a long time. It never balks, delivers all the power I need for the circular saw and drill. In fact, those are so handy and this battery is so dependable, I'm thinking of getting a couple more tools to go with it.
