I can't say enough good things about this generator. We were using a 4000 watt coleman generator with a Briggs & Statton engine that was still working after 12 years, but it was a pull start and only my husband could start it. We wanted a more powerful generator with an electric start. We had an electrician wire in an outside 50 amp breaker to plug in a generator to backfeed the house in an outage. We bought this generator because it was compact enough to fit inside the small shed we were using for our old generator. Most the other brands at 7000 watts were too large for the shed. The generator arrived by trucking company (RL Carriers) in great shape and the instructions for setup were very easy to follow. The 240 plug on the generator requires a 10/4 electric service wire. We bought 25 feet of 10/4 wire, a male 4-prong 30 amp plug to fit the generator and a 30 amp plug to fit the plug on the side of the house installed by the electrician. The generator started up immediately and it runs very smoothly and really quiet, compared to most other generators. My husband likes that this generator has an oil drain plug, which makes it very easy to change the oil. Our old generator did not have that feature. The only thing he doesn't like is the bars inside the gasoline opening that prevents you from siphoning the gas back out of the generator. This means you have to burn the gas up to empty it. So he is less inclined to fill the tank, just in case we don't need to use it for a year or more. The engine runs so smoothly. We were not familiar with Westinghouse generators, and neither was our electrician, but we are both impressed with the performance of this generator. The electrician suggested we hook up a trickle charger to keep the battery fully charged. We bought a Sunforce 50022 5-watt solar battery trickle charge from Amazon and hooked it up. We screwed the solar panel to our wooden privacy fence right above the generator shed, ran the wire from the solar panel into the shed and clipped it to the battery terminals of the generator. There is a quick disconnect with this, so you can just unplug that if you need to move the generator for any reason. In an outage we can connect the long 10/4 service wire to the generator, run it through the fence and plug it into the 50 amp breaker on the house. Then we turn off the main breaker outside and all the inside breakers in the garage. We start the generator, turn on the 50 amp breaker on the house set up for the generator, and slowly turn on the inside breakers one at a time to see how much it can run. This generator will run the lights, fans, our 2 refrigerators and 1 big freezer, plus electrical appliances. We make sure we keep the breakers off for the house airconditioner and the washer, dryer, electric stove. But we can turn a few things off long enough to turn on the hot water heater breaker and warm up water for showers. I wish we had had this generator when north Alabama was without electricity for 5 days last year after the tornados. We have a gas grill on the closed in back porch, so we were able to do all our cooking out there and really did not miss using the electric stove.

I have been searching and hunting all over for the most bang for your buck. I didn't get this from amazon, but brand new from a small engine shop as someone traded it in, never used, not even oil in it.... I filled it with gas and oil at the shop and wham!--popped right off and began to purr. Over the next couple of weeks I have used it to power a circ saw, miter saw and a couple compressors at the same time and it doesn't even flinch. It's even pretty quite as far as larger generators go. I had some questions about the generator, needed a manual and such and emailed the company and in about 2 hours I was talking with a sales rep and had my questions answered. I can't say enough good things about this generator and westinghouse thus far.Update 6-6-12: Still love this thing. Powered a small mig welder no problem and my 220v well pump. Great product!
