I have had and used a lot of inverters over the years and (for a modified sine) this is by far my favorite. I am currently using this in conjunction with my solar system at a small hunting cabin. The digital read out is a HUGE plus. First of all, it eliminates the needs for a battery tester because the unit has one internally. Even better, it tells you how many watts are being used. In other words, it gives you a real-time display of how your system is working with regard to draw. This is particularly helpful when determining how many amp hours your batteries can REALLY provide.
Also, the fan seems to do a great job of cooling and the little prop arm helps too by keeping the unit away from the shelf so that it can cool more easily.
The only negative is really just aesthetic and that is that it "feels" a little cheap. The outlets tend to move around a little when you plug something in to them and the unit body of the unit is light and thin metal.
I have several Schumacher products (car chargers, battery tester, jump starter) and they have never disappointed me. This unit is definitely no exception!
