I've had this charger now for a couple of months and used it maybe 5 to 6 times to charge my Odyssey batteries. The volt meter is crude (no actual voltage readout) but gives an idea bout the status. The charger portion works well, and has been reliable. I would buy it again.

I bought this 6A Odyssey Charger 3 years ago and have kept it connected to my motorcycle battery almost all the time. It has worked fantastic--in spite of some incidents (mostly my fault) that could have schnitzed it. Like dropping it twice, having bad or intermittant connection to the battery, operating outside in wind and snow, and hauling it 12,000 miles on a motorcycle. The idiot lights are very informative and it is easy to understand just what is going on with the battery. I can't imagine life w/o one of these.

I bought this as a trickle charger for an Odyssey battery installed in an airplane. My airplane sits in the hangar all winter, unattended, and the thing I don't like about this charger is that it has an internal cooling fan that runs continuously. Worse case scenario is the fan malfunctions and catches fire, with nobody around to notice. So, I'm actually not using the charger unless I'm there, which kind of defeats the purpose!

If you're like me, you already have a handful of battery chargers around. I can think of four motorcycle specific chargers I owned before placing the order for this one. When my Odyssey ran down though (GPS left on), none of them really brought it back to life. Two didn't see it. Another saw the battery, and didn't it's best to charge it, but at 0.5watts, it got it back to a level that the bike would start from, but checking it with a meter the next day showed a below normal voltage. Knowing I plan to run these batteries from here on out most likely, I went ahead and ordered this. It was shipped quickly and arrived well packed. It did it's thing overnight, and got my battery back up to normal voltage. It comes with a battery harness to wire in, but my BMW has charging/jumping lugs on the side of the bike, so it's easy enough to use the clamps. Like another reviewer, I'm not crazy about the fan on the unit, but I'm going with the logic that the unit probably only gets hot when doing a heavy charge. Once the charger goes into maintenance mode where it's just keeping the battery topped off, I wouldn't bet that it would burn up if the fan quit. I hated buying another charger, but I'm happy I have it now.

I bought an Odyssey Battery for my GL1800 Goldwing and my current Battery Tender product was not powerful enough for it.

I ordered the Odyssey Battery tender to match the Odyssey battery and am very please with it.

Much faster than the Battery Tender and it floats better too!

If you got an Odyssey Battery this is a must.
