The TrakMax MPPT 40A has been operating for several weeks now under a number of different weather conditions. I have a fully instrumented Panel-Charger-Battery-Inverter-Load system as a research tool. The charger appears to be doing the right thing under all of the varying conditions. The only thing I don't yet understand is that the indicator lights don't always reflect what is happening especially during overnight. If I reset the unit the lights are correct. There does appear to be some bleed from the batteries back to the panels at night and that might be why the lights change. I did send an email request for more information about the lights and bleed but have not yet received a response. That said, I am happy with the performance of the charger as it is doing a good job of keeping the batteries optimally charged.
