Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Wow! Unbelievable, the amount of power and torque this 18volt torque impact wrench possesses. This ACDelco Super-Torque Impact Wrench rivals the best of the air powered impact wrenches that I have used. The LCD lit display screen displays the torque stage, battery life, and allows you to choose between 5 electronic clutch settings. If this impact torque wrench has the durability to go along with the amount of pure power it has, I may never use an air impact wrench again. I am getting just as much power out of this wrench but now I don't have to deal with the hassle of air lines all over the floor and noisy air compressors. Also, it packs easily in its carrying case for use on the go. Again, no compressor or air lines, it's battery powered and performs as well or better than most air powered wrenches I have used. You can expect several hours of use out of each charged battery.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Over the years, I've found it necessary to have quality box end wrenches and 5-foot steel pipe handle extensions on hand. Those who are looking at this wrench will understand why.

There are many considerations when purchasing an impact wrench. Most mechanics who work long hours in a confined boundary prefer air wrenches because they are lighter and more powerful. One pound of extra weight can make a huge difference over an 8-hour shift. However, there are many situations where a compressor isn't available and dragging long sections of air hose isn't practical.

I've never been one who likes to compare apples to oranges. In this case, air impact wrenches to cordless impact wrenches. Up until now, it wasn't fair to compare a cordless impact wrench to an air impact wrench. However, in my early tests, this ACDelco is performing ahead of some air impact wrenches I own. This feat makes the ACDelco ARI2060 a real game changer.

First, let's compare cordless LiPo to cordless LiPo on two wrenches which cost about the same.

In 2008, I bought the Milwaukee V28 28-Volt LiPo cordless Air Impact Wrench from Amazon. It boasts 325 ft-lbs maximum torque. With battery, it weighs 8.56 pounds. The air impact socket adds a few more ounces. After some use, I gave it a 5-Star rating because it was the best in it's class at the time. That was 5 years ago. This rating would not stand today. Time after time I kept running into jammed 15/16-inch nuts on 12-inch blade bolts on powerful commercial mowers that this wrench failed to break free in the field.

The V28 LiPo battery is $150.00.

My next step would be to travel to my compressor and Ingersoll-Rand 231C 1/2-inch Super Duty Air Impact Wrench, 6.3 pounds with 425 ft-lbs torque. This little 6-pound work horse is found in most garages in America and they die hard if they ever die at all.

In today's world of rapidly advancing technology, 5 years is an eternity. Products that have proved successful for years are being antiquated daily. The ACDelco is an example.

Now comes the ACDelco ARI2060 with 1100 ft-lbs breakaway torque and 780 ft-lbs reverse torque. This is awesome and surpasses many of the top air impact wrenches on the market today. It weighs 7 pounds with battery, sans socket.

The 18-Volt battery is $120.00.

I put it to the test with some bent 12-inch blade bolts with mangled threads and some 15/16-inch nuts. I placed the bolts in an antique Wilton 9-600 Machinist Vice and cranked it down as hard as I could. Next, I added double nuts and jammed them on with the Ingersoll-Rand 231C Air Wrench. Interestingly enough, the 231C would not remove the nuts. The ACDelco ARI2060 would.

Just for fun, I jammed the nuts on again with heavy washers in between allowing the wrench to pound away a little longer.

The only wrench I have that would remove the nuts was the NitroCat 1200K 1/2-inch Kevlar Composite Air Impact Wrench working on 140 PSI. It weighs only 5 pounds and has 1295 ft-lbs breakaway torque which is only slightly greater than the ACDelco but was enough to edge ahead in power.

Excuse me, I apologize for comparing apples to oranges but this new ACDelco fits nicely into my basket of oranges and the first few bites have been mighty sweet. The electronic clutch with 5 digital torque settings is like adding frosting and sprinkles on a Honey Bell orange cake.

Durability is a mystery at this point. Only years of continued use will answer this question and professional mechanics are the ones to ask.

Best Deals for ACDelco ARI2060 Li-Ion 18-volt 1/2-Inch Super-Torque Impact Wrench

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is the one you want for the really tough jobs. And since it's battery operated, no cords or compressors to limit your movement.

The impact wrench comes with 2 batteries and a recharger, and I was surprised to find the batteries arrived fully charged. When a battery is on the charger, you can tell it's still charging by the noise the recharger is making. When the noise stops, it's fully charged.

When squeezing the trigger you get light to help see what you're doing and the LCD display shows a total of 5 strength settings and the how much charge is left in the battery.

At 15 lb, this isn't something you're going to want to use for the lighter jobs if you use an impact wrench a lot. You'll tire out faster. Save it for the tougher jobs or for convenience when you don't want to lug a compressor around with you.

So why am I only giving 4 stars to such a great product? The only paperwork I received were brochures for other items sold by ACDelco. No instructions and no warranty card.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I knew when I received this it was made well just by the weight.I used it this weekend to do brakes on my car. After charging the battery i proceeded to remove the lugs which didn't take long at all. This thing spun the lugs off so fast i couldn't believe it"'I never knew a battery powered impact could work so well.I did my brake job and also rotated the tires on all three cars we have.I looked at the lcd display and it had lots of battery life left.I llke that it has several torque settings so you don't over tighten your lugs or whatever your using it for.It comes with a spare battery so you can keep one charging while your using the gun.My lug wrench is now retired and hope to never see it again"'It may not replace an air impact gun but its pretty darn close.I could not be more pleased with it.
