My original battery would no longer take a charge so I replaced it with this one. After charging it up, presto... I now have a working GPS again. You need two things to replace this battery: Micro TORX Driver Bit T9, to remove the four screws holding the front and back of the GPS unit together, the other is some kind of solid plastic chisel shaped tool, like a lottery ticket scratcher, for separating the front and back sections. You carefully pry them apart, working your way around the body of the unit.
But be careful, as inside the unit the speaker wire is attached to the mother board with a tiny connector, and so are the battery wires. Carefully pull the battery connector from the pc board (noting how it was attached). Then carefully peel the old battery from its sticky backing, and reset the new battery in place. Then carefully reattach the battery's tiny connector to the pc board (it can only go one way so pay attention). Reassemble front and back and replace screws.
