Wired it into the center armrest cubby of a Volvo, to allow all the driver to charge various devices out of sight. It works. The wire leads are a good solid gauge, accepted 16g crimp-on connectors well. The rubber housing around the USB socket is sort of bulky, but that's not a big problem. I tried a similarly-described item that was on sale for $8, and it did not work to charge an iphone. This one worked perfectly.
