Yes, it does what it is advertised to do but it is also poorly made and easily broken. However, it is cheap and if you take care when using the adapter, especially when removing the plug from the phone, it will work and continue to do so. You really do get what you pay for.

Will only work for a short time and then it dies. Its lifespan was only about six weeks. Buy the name brand product.

This is a good charger for the money. The only thing I do not like about it is that with genuine samsung accessories the arrow which shows you which end to insert up is yellow, making it very visible. On this charger the arrow is black, making it difficult to plug in in a dark car. Otherwise a great product and it works well, and I rely on it more now that my daughter lost her home charger and stole mine. I mostly have to charge in the car or while attached to the computer, and this charger has not failed me yet.
