Usually dual USB chargers have a 1A and a 2.1A USB ports--e.g., for an iPhone and an iPad. This charger has two 2.1A USB outputs.

This isn't something I'd want to travel with it's too big. They should market it as an at-home/office product. My bigger gripe is that the USB ports are too close together. Only a few of my cables ones with the thinnest casings can plug in at the same time. Cannot recommend it.Best Deals for Kanex DoubleUp 2.1A Dual USB Charger for iPad, iPhone and iPod
The idea seemed like a good one...double up on the charging of my multiple mobile devices to make traveling with these devices easier and less cumbersome. I tried two other products before purchasing the Kanex model. Both failed miserably. One did not charge at all and the other charged on a pulsing basis. Anyone who has an iPhone knows that when you first plug in your phone you get a tonal sound. Well imagine the sound repeating itself at three second intervals. Gr-rrr.The Kanex works and does so very well. It's very compact and the outlet plugs fold in making the entire device the size of a deck of cards. Yes it's made traveling much easier but I now use it as my main charger at home as well. Kanex costs a little more but as is often true..."you get what you pay for."
Honest reviews on Kanex DoubleUp 2.1A Dual USB Charger for iPad, iPhone and iPod
When I first received the Kanex DoubleUp USB charger I really liked it, despite it large size. It charged quickly and efficiently and the indicators turned blue (from amber) to ket you know the charge cycle on your devices was complete. However, after a few weeks, I noticed that the left port no longer turned blue. A bit of a pain, but not a deal breaker because it still charged. Sadly, I then began to notice that the right port in addition to only turning blue every other charge, began to work intermittently (sometimes, I had to mess with the cord for it to charge, this happened no matter what cord was plugged in the device). Based on this, I am forced to return the product to Amazon. Based on the generally strong reviews both here and on other cites, I am willing to accept that I received a defective device and have opted for a replacement. Hopefully, I can update with a more favorable review for the next charger.FYI, I also purchased the Bolse 4 Port USB Charger and am really pleased with that selection, thus far, not a single problem.
