Purchasing this battery is a terrific way to extend the life of your Garmin GPS. After slightly more than two and a half years, my device started to lose its ability to maintain a charge. I checked a number of sites and batteries and this was rated the best. In addition to the battery you get an instructional dvd, which guides you on the removal of the old battery and the placemnt of this one. The entire process literally took less than five minutes from beginning to end. Added bonus, if for some reason your dvd player does not play the disk, you are guided to the manufactuer's website for the video instructions, they have also been posted on youtube. As always, Amazon was on point itch the shipment, which arrived earlier than promised.

After receiving this kit, I watched the included video. The steps were not difficult. Using the provided tools, I opened my Garmin, removed the old battery and installed the new battery. The only difficulty I encountered was with the cabling connections because of my big fingers. Reassembled and turned the Garmin on. Worked like a charm.

The new battery works fine. The installation video strongly implies that removal of the screws in the back of the unit is very easy. Using the tool provided both screw heads got stripped and there was no suggestion in the instructions to be very careful to not strip the heads using the tool. In fact the screws were difficult to remove and when I called to get replacement screws, I was told the seller did not have any and had no suggestions on how to get new ones. I am dissappointed in the somewhat deceptive video and then no follow up on the screws.
