I use this to charge 6V deep cycle batteries. It charges at 6 Amps which is quite appropriate. It is also a great compact size. The cables and clamps are heavy duty. The only issue is that it lets out a slight 'hissing sound' that is extremely irritating. If this can be sorted out then this would be rated 5 stars.

The Schmacher Inc-406A Battery Charger does the job as advertized. I am very satisfied with the capability to charge more than one battery simultaneously, especially since I had to charge my RV batteries, 2 chasis and three house batteries. Recommend you take the time to read the instructions on the unit so there will not be any surprises with your setup.

For the money this is a pretty good battery charger. I was a little disappointed that it did not charge batteries quicker.

Use the charger to charge my boat batteries and as a maintainer over the winter. Fully automatic and works on my AGM and regular 12V batteries. The only draw back is it only charges at 6 amps which can take 12 to 18 hours for a recharge on heavily drained 12V 1000CCA batteries. Used cheaper chargers in the past that destroyed my batteries this charger seems to be very easy on the batteries and I'm getting much longer battery life so far (2 years of use). The unit does have a built in fan that comes on in the first phase of the charge but is not that noticeable on my unit a little bit quieter than a desktop computer fan. Very happy with the product.
