Pros:
Provides 750 watts of power as advertised, so long as you use the alligator clips on your car battery.
Digital display is great.
I'm using it right now to power my laptop in my truck as I write this review.
Very good price. (Add a star for this.)
Cons:
I have a full-size pickup with a heavy-duty battery, and if I attempt to run this off my charging port in the truck, I get constant beeps from the unit. Apparently it thinks my battery is about to die, even when it's completely full.
Starting your vehicle trips the low battery mode, shutting off the inverter. I realize this is a problem with man units, but should be resolved for a five star rating.
This unit is LOUD, like "holy cow what is that racket" loud. If you want to use it inside your vehicle, bring earplugs. I knocked a star off for this.
Other Thoughts:
Four star rating for being pretty awesome, plus one for the price and minus one for the sheer volume.

They are:1) The unit is LOUD as in an acid metal band stoned out of their minds on the last show of the tour when it is near 50 W of power or more.
2) The "Low power shut-off" has two problems:
A) It shuts off way too fast and easily; I've been unable to tell exactly where it shuts down but it only takes a moment at that voltage level to shut down (IE: if something powers up in the truck that drops the voltage for a second this thing will trip).
B) No restart once it shuts down for voltage it will NOT restart when the voltage has returned to normal. You have to shut the unit off and back on to restart it again (horrible if you are driving, and the unit is used to charge your laptop)

I use this product every day in a car and also in a big truck to power a heating pad (for a bad back) and also for charging cell phones, flashlight batteries and other electronic devices. Works great using the cigarette lighter cord if the watt load is less than 100 watts. At less than 60 watts which is usual for my purposes, the fan never comes on and so it is very quiet. The instructions state that over 100 watt loads must be connected directly to the battery with supplied spring clips.Honest reviews on Schumacher XI75DU 750 Watt DC to AC Digital Display Power Inverter
i got a call on a friday night to provide a medium size sound system in a location without available AC power on saturday morning. i couldnt turn the gig down but i didnt have a battery powered unit available on that short notice. i sized up my wattage requirements and ran to the store. i found this unit for sale and, after sizing up a same sized generator (and hassle of gasoline, oil, exhaust fumes and noise) i bought this unit. it was $40 MORE THAN ON AMAZON but Amazon doesnt do 12 hour delivery (yet). i was a bit concerned about electrial noise/buzz in the sound system but i didnt hear a buzz at all out of a normally 'picky' system. i ran a 100 foot cord from the unit at my van to my amp and crossed my fingers. Everything was perfect, i ran the 400w sound system for two hours, got a thank you shoutout from the podium and a 300 buck payday. Thank you Schumacher i am a third generation happy customer!!!!!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Schumacher XI75DU 750 Watt DC to AC Digital Display Power Inverter
The low voltage shutoff turns off the unit when starting a high inrush device such as an air mattress inflator, producing a piercing alarm and no power. The only way to operate it under these conditions was to depress the inflator's power button just as the inverter is booting up. That way, it delivers the power before it can detect a low voltage condition. We struggled for a few years to figure this out while camping no fun. Finally, I tried operating it directly off the car battery (which helped), but then it fried internally. With no fuse to change, I have to throw it away. What a waste. Buy an inverter with a fuse, and hopefully one with soft start capability.
FYI Mine was the 410 Watt unit, but this one appears to be built exactly the same way.
