Overall, this cable does the trick. I was hoping that the power cable would have and use the same power connector as the OEM power cable. Instead, it plugs into the USB connector, which is a good and a bad thing. If you have the GPS mounted on the windshield suction mount, this type of setup may be a little bit cumbersome. On the other hand, if you have other devices in your car that are powered by a USB mini connection, this may be a plus. Overall, the quality is good, but clearly the cable is not as sturdy as the OEM cable (are replacements ever as good?). My rating of four stars shold be a five for you if you see the benefit of powering additional SB devices. Since the GPS was the only thing I needed powered with this cable, I would have preferred the round DIN cable as a better solution to power up the electrical connection on the suction cup mount.

My gamin would no longer charge the gps with the car mount. This meant either I need to but a new gps, car mount, or charging cable. So I bought this item to try first for cheapest option. And it worked great! Now I can use my gps in the car mount and use this cable to charge and/or run the gps when the battery is dead.
