The retractable feature is nice and convenient but the cord is flimsy, especially where it joins at the connector. Mine is nearly broken off. My suggestion to get longer life out of it, is to pull the connector (carefully and slowly) out by holding the cord. Don't pull it out by holding the connector as I did for little while. It will start to break at that area. There is a red power light to let you know it is plugged in to the receptacle. It stays on all the time. Item works but was designed with planned obsolescence in mind. I wish the cord was a heavier gauge. It looks like 22 gauge wire, too thin to be pulling on all the time. I am rating this 4 star because I've had my charger for 2 years and 8 months and it is still working but near the end of its life. You can lengthen the life by following my suggestion.Nice unit; works as advertised. Seems a little insubstantial I would have made the retractable just a bit heftier and a bit longer but so far, it is working just as expected.
