This DVR 207 is NOT the GS model. The box I received did say "G-sensor" but it includes the older firmware, which is fine for me. I've only tested 1280x720 30 fps video and it works just fine. 10 min increments and 5 minute increments record flawlessly and are easy to find on the SD card and are recorded as .avi files. I definitely would not classify these videos as "HD" but I'm still able to make out most text while viewing the videos and the recordings are gapless.
The camera it self is very light and feels relatively cheap...don't drop this one! The suction stand is low quality but does the job, it allows the camera to pan, tilt, and rotate in any direction with minimal effort while remaining perfectly stationary and providing a stable recording.
The on camera software is easy to navigate (use the record button as "ok/enter") and offers video/audio settings as well as IR light control. It's simple but effective.
The included usb cable makes this plug n play with any Windows PC, this cable also charges the camera. The battery life is good.
There's always a concern with fakes/bootlegs when it comes to Chinese electronics. I am happy to report that the DVR 207 from SPY TEC is the real deal. For $70 shipped...this is a very good deal.
**NOTES**
This does NOT include a HDMI cable for on the fly viewing
I recommend this SD card: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Q3C98S/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To view your videos: Backup the files to your computer and view with Windows Media Player. VLC did NOT like the codec and constant stuttering was present via this program.
The battery DOES charge while the camera is plugged in via usb.

I recently bought my DVR-207 from SpyTecinc on E-Bay. I received it and was packaged great.I am using a Scandisk 32 GB class 10 card. It works great with this unit. I'm now having trouble, after only a week, with the FPS as it will only stay in 15 FPS. If I go and and set my unit back to the camera defaults it goes to FPS 30 but whn I go to program my unit it auto goes to 15 FPS. I have contacted Spytecinc twice by phone and the technical support division will not return my calls. Not happy with Spytecinc.
Overall, the DVR-207, after a week seems otherwise taking go videos.
UPDATE: 08-19-2013 I contacted Spytecinc again and this time I spoke to a nice technician who helped me through troubleshooting of the device. He recommended that I send it back for a replacement or a upgraded version of my choice. They would pay shipping. I chose the newer version 2013 DVR-207GS.

It does what it says it will do. It dosent like being locked in a car in Texas heat and will black out. But, if you will unplug it and put it in the glove box until you need it. Every thing will work great. This is just a cheep little camera, but it works well. I expect to get about a year out of it.
Honest reviews on RuiLinXin DVR207 HD720P IR Car Vehicle Dash Camera DVR Rotable 270
The dashcam is pretty cool, small in size, and easy to configure. The swivels and mounts becomes loose easily from the sun's heat. The camera turned on and lasted only 15 minutes then it shut itself off. The second day the camera was on for about 10 minutes then shut itself off again. I understand the heat will cause it to turn off but it was barley 70 degrees this morning. Overal a pretty good camera if it works consistently. Maybe Mine was a bad batch? who knows.. but it is not consistently on and recording so that pretty much blows the deal for me. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a dash cam if it doesn't work when you need it to. I've returned the item.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for RuiLinXin DVR207 HD720P IR Car Vehicle Dash Camera DVR Rotable 270
So far so good on this camera. Does everything I need it to. Starts when car starts and stops when car stops. Also tested good to overwrite files when filled. I have a 32GB card but this probably isn't necessary. Also I am happy with the mounting suction cup which is solid as a rock. I thought about a rear view mirror type of camera which covers the existing mirror but then I wouldn't have access to the digital compass or digital thermometer in my mirror. This unit is much better for my needs.
Note: The IR bulbs don't seem to do anything as far as car night video. At 8 feet you only get about a 2 foot circle of light.
