I could not get this to charge my laptop while it was on. It charges the battery if the laptop is OFF, and it runs the laptop if the battery is taken out, but it would not do both at the same time. I did get it to work with my smaller less powerful netbook. I am unsure if this is a limitation of my car or the converter.
Overall this was a good deal.

i bought the Kinamax AC-12VDC 100W Car 12V DC to 110V AC Power Converter Inverter off amazon because it was half the price of the ones i can find in the store. i have been using it for a month now and so far it has worked great for me. i can use it to power my laptop and gps at the same time which has come in handy when your car only has one DC outlet. this only problem i found with this is with my car it will jam the AM radio stations. other than that this product is a great buy.

Good quality for an item of this type. Seems like it would last at least a lunchtime. Has a nice blue light and NO FAN, which means it is quiet. Nice. Would buy another if it holds up...

Our Buick LeSabre won't accept the plug-in. I'm returning it, and will order another style. Too bad! Otherwise, it was just what I wanted.
