As a professional automotive technician I depend on my tools for my livelyhood, and this Makita impact wrench excedes my expectations. I finally wore out my 9.6 volt Makita gun after 17 years, and wouldn't even consider another brand as it had been so good. This 18 volt gun is extremely powerful, the batteries are light, yet last FAR longer before needing a charge. If you are thinking of stepping up to the LTX, do it. You won't be sorry. I couldn't be happier.

I've been rebuilding transmissions for over 30 years and have been through my share of tools, this Makita BTW253 is the BEST impact gun I've ever used. Powerful, light, and does the job. I'm very satisfied and I'm sure you will be too. The Snap on gun doesn't compare and is more money. This ones a keeper.

This impact wrench is extremely strong! Bought this on sale a few weeks before Christmas for a gift and it is amazing how much power is in this wrench. When my Dad opened it up on Christmas day all we wanted to do was see how powerful it actually was so we went out to the garage and tested it on some of the lugs on my car. This thing had no problem buzzing them right out, and they were torqued to 81 ft/lbs. The batteries also last a VERY long time. We've been using it quite a bit on my race car engine and gearbox since Christmas, and we still haven't had to recharge or change the battery since the first charge.
My Dad also bought a very short 3/8" extension to keep on the wrench so the small ring on the end of it doesn't get worn out, and I would recommend this also.

ok i bought this impact driver almost 3 years ago in the XLT pack from Makita for a great price btw. And let me tell u its the best driver ive ever ownd. Im an HVAC tech, and this baby is my number one tool. It has an LED that lights up when u hit the trigger and it stays lit-up for a couple of seconds after u hit the trigger. So u can use it as a flashlight, awsome feature when u work in lots of dark areas. My co-worker has the new DeWalt ultra light impact gun, and let me tell u i much rather have the makita. His LED goes off rite after u take your fingers of the trigger, and that sucks when your using it in a dark place as a flashlight. Also the DeWalt dose not have a glow in the dark ring around the nozzel. The makita does! if u drop the makita ina dark place youll find her eazy. Plus the XLT batteries last a long time and charge up fast. Good job makita! U made the best long lasting impact driver ive ever ownd! Now get better at making full size hammer drills please!
