Because the original one that I lost was smaller and more compact for traveling. Also it gives me no indication when the battery is fully charged. The original had the power light go out when it was fully charged.

I ordered the wrong model number, so this cable is of no use to me. MY FAULT TOTALLY! I should have ordered the Lumix DMC-SZ1, not the ZS1. But since it is my fault, I decided to eat the cost and not pay more to return the item. What are the odds that Panasonic would actually have both models available! LIVE AND LEARN!

it was as discribed, works as it should for charging the battery in the car, I can charge while driving and my battery is charged by the time I get to where I am going, especially helpful when I forget to charge the battery before I leave the house. Would buy from this seller again.
