I'm in my car quite a bit. I own a Droid Incredible and also an iPod touch. I was sitting at home a few days ago (probably months or years ago depending on when you read this) and thought came over me,"Why can't I charge both of these with my car charger?" Well, at the end of the day, I threw down my 8 bucks for this little thing. And it was worth it. With the help of the Scosche sleekSYNC Retractable USB 2.0 cable for iPod and iPhone (Black) I can successfully charge my phone and iPod while making phone calls and listening to music.

Now since it's only $8 (from $30!), it's going to get some heat. I question this little guy's power whether I have either or both plugged up for an extended time. It doesn't necessarily charge your phone only it keeps it from losing battery life, if that makes sense. I left my apartment one day with half my battery, drove 6 hours, unplugged, and it still wasn't fully charged. Same thing with the iPod. Doesn't die. Charges VERRRRY slowly. The second thing is the retractable cord. It's an awesome feature and a major selling point of this piece of equipment. You simply pull the cord, plug in your phone and push the button on top to retract when you're done. If you buy this, I caution you to be careful with that button! The cord retracts in 0.000000001 seconds (exaggeration mine) and it will give your hand a love tap or a surprise welt, whatever you call it.. Here's a simple solution: HOLD THE PLUG with your FREE hand to provide resistance. This will prevent you from hurting yourself and then blaming the cord. I hope you found this helpful...

I like this charger because of the retractable feature, unfortunately the wire is incredibly thin as a result and is probably why the output is only 600 mA. When I'm running Google Navigation on my Galaxy Nexus, it actually drains the battery faster than this charger can charge it. For general use, it is great, but I typically use my smartphone in the car for navigation and so I ended up purchasing a more powerful Motorola charger for this purpose.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I bought this for my husband because he drives a lot for work and the rating seemed good enough, but this product sucks. Right away he had issues with the cord not rolling back up completely or getting stuck. Usually he could play with it a little and it would fix itself, but not even three weeks after buying it, it got stuck in the fully out position and he couldn't get it to roll back in. I contacted the seller and their return policy is only 7 DAYS!! 7! I wouldn't even be able to receive the product and ship it back in that short time span.

They were completely unwilling to assisting me with either a refund or a new charger, relying on their 7 day return policy as their excuse. OBVIOUSLY, this company expects their products to break after 7 days or they'd have a longer return policy and they'd be more willing to assist their customers. But then again, they obviously don't care about their customers.

If that wasn't bad enough, now the charger has gotten finicky and won't even charge his phone in the fully out position. Its a piece of crap, do not buy.

Honest reviews on Naztech Reactor Retractable Micro USB Charger with USB Charging

I bought this charger for two reasons, I liked that the cord retracted (no more tangles, or getting caught on stuff) and it has a USB connector, so I can charge my Phone and my MP3 Player at the same time, or my wife can charge her phone at the same time using her USB cable. The rewind spring is taught, it reels in very quickly. I would recommend this charger to anyone.

Use this on my Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S). Charges fine, strong cord retraction. Haven't used the second USB charging port yet, but sure it might come in handy in the future.

I had multiple problems with this.

First, one of the first things I tried to plug into one of the outlets went in too far, to the point where it wouldn't come out (the springy metal parts that compress when you insert something apparently went in so far that they released on the other side of the sleeve, making it impossible to retract), I ended up needing to break the thing to get it out. Subsequently, using the outlets that still worked, I've been afraid to push things in too far, and maybe that's why things often pop out a bit and I need to re-insert them.

Also, I intended to use the USB port to power some speakers, but it was useless for that because it put a horrible noise into the speakers.

So... it basically works... but you need to be sure not to over-insert things, be prepared for things to pop out on their own, and don't use the USB for an audio device.

UPDATE: Even if you push things good and solidly, they often pop out. The final straw... last night, when I pulled the connecting piece out of the car's lighter socket, that whole part of the assembly fell apart, it's various pieces scattered over the floor of the car, and I never got it back together.

This is a cheap product that only worked for about a week. I had difficulty removing it from the socket and I was afraid the cheap plastic would break. Don't waste your time with this splitter.

Best Deals for Three-Way Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Splitter w/ USB Port

The product is what I wanted, except it isn't a tight fitting for some things like my cell phone chargers. They wiggle around in the socket and sometimes pop out and/or don't get a good connection. The USB port is the main thing I wanted so that works good I guess, but the 3-way wasn't so good.

Honest reviews on Three-Way Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Splitter w/ USB Port

This appears to be the same as the VR3 item of same appearance which I bought about 6 months ago. It was great while it lasted because my Dodge pickup has a little "cubby" slot that it slipped into so I didn't have the problem of projecting adapters to bang my knee on or interfere with reaching the ignition key. I could also stuff the excess wire from outlet to device out of the way.

The USB slot was particularly beneficial because it took a small computer light which was helpful for map or other reading without a lot of ambient light in the cab impacting driver night vision.

Having three DC outlets was great: cell phone, GPS, and radar. I suggest these are the minimum power accesses any vehicle should come from but a few more would be helpful for laptop and cooler. But it needs to be engineered to handle the load or draw.

Mine worked very well for about six months and then quit. Don't know if it (1) just failed or (2) somehow a "short" was inadvertently created by contact across two outlets or (3) perhaps it is just marginally able to carry the load when all outlets are in use. Hence, my middle of the road rating.

Note: The VR3 product does not seem to be available at this time????

I did read a lot of negative reviews about this product. I have a few things to say here:

1. It is a cheap product. What else do you get at this price? To think you will get a great thing at this price makes you cheap!

2. It is to be handled a bit delicately. If you try to push or pull device plugs too hard, it can break.

3. I would say, the best way is to plug the devices and leave it. If you are too scared about your GPS or iPod and above all car break in, then just unplug the device. don't unplug the plugs! I do that and I leave all the plugs there itself.

Conclusion: It works absolutely fine. I have now used it for a month. The splitter is in my car and powers my GPS, iPod and charge my blackberry also without any problem. Yes, I always leave the plugs of GPS/ipod and the usb of bb plugged in and hence it is not disturbed at all. Maybe if I plug it a 100 times it can malfunction. If you want to do that there are some 20 dollar splitters that can work for you!

I have a samsung note 2 and it charges my battery 3/4 the way with one charge hour charge. That is a pretty decent charge considering the size and capacity of the battery in the phone. Anyone with a power hungry phone could probably get 1 to 2 hours off a single charge. You can also use the phone while charging without any hiccups. When left in your pocket while charging the unit does get quite hot so it is best left in the open while performing the charge. Overall great product for a competitive price.

I thought that this would be very handy for my very hungry smart phone. When it came, I followed the instructions to charge it off the USB port on my computer. The light (to indicate that it was charging) came on for a half second and then went out. It didn't charge. I tried different cords, in case it was a problem with the included one, but nothing. And yes, the computer was on!

When I called for technical support, the man was quite rude.

I have sent it back!!!

Honest reviews on Juicebar DO11-PTBK Black Power Tube

I followed the directions by plugging it into my computer. The directions stated that when the light turned "green" is would be fully charged. I waited and the light turned "blue". I figured it needed more time to charge so I left it plugged in over night hoping the light woud turn "green". By morning the light was still "blue". Obviously the person that wrote the directions was color blind. The next day I charged my I-Pad (it only needed a 20% charge. It charged very quickley BUT it ran out of juice. Didn't the advertisement say it would hold a charge for 30 days?

This charger works....but don't expect it to work quickly. After over 30 minutes of charging my phone only stayed on for a few minutes, enough to make an emergency call, but not enough to do anything else.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

My Motorola Cell phone is very 'finicky' when it comes to battery charging 'in the phone with a 3rd party device' but not this one. It works great. I had a new battery that I ran down and after a lot of cranking I got another bar on the battery indicator.

It's for emergency and do not expect to completely charge the battery. In use you would crank it for 5 min and have about 5 min (depends on how your phone is set up) 5 min of emergency talk time. Since you're charging the phone battery you should be able to take a break. I would have the phone 'OFF' so all the charge went to the battery. I would hate to crank this for 5 to 10 min then have a 'spammer' call me using up battery power.

I do NOT understand why the cranking LED is red. Personally I would prefer white and if really desperate have a crank flashlight to use as well as a phone charger.

It works and fits in a small palm.

The BEST safety is to have a spare charged battery but this does work.

Best Deals for Emergency Zone Mobile Phone Charger with 14 Adapters, No Batteries

I have a Verizon Thunderbolt and had been out all day. Came home to a power outage and needed to charge up the phone. Dug this out of the emergency box, plugged it in and got a warning message that if I continued it would damage the phone. So much for emergency back up.

Honest reviews on Emergency Zone Mobile Phone Charger with 14 Adapters, No Batteries

This device had many adaptors which is great, but, it did not attach well to my Sony Ericsson. My kids say it works for their Nokias so I am disappointed @2.5 stars. Works for then =2.5 but none from me.

Does exactly what it says. I have a 8 year old Nokia mobile phone for emergency use. Because I rarely use that phone, I often forget to charge it. So soon after getting this charger I had occasion to use it. And it worked great -gave the phone enough of a charge to make a short call.

If Amazon ever gets it back in stock I will buy a few more to give as "peace-of-mind" gifts to my family.

I plugged it in and it worked on my phone. There was some play in how it fit into the vehicles charging plug in so you have to "wiggle" the charger to get the light on. The unit sent to me was not as pictured, mine is solid black with a tiny glow light on the back to tell me it's working. Not a big deal, it's just that you expect to open the package and see what was pictured. I'll keep it cause it works, (if you wiggle it just right)

As the instructions make clear, this transfer switch is positioned for use in RVs

or for powering boats on shore or off. I wouldn't know the details of that because I have neither.

What I need is a transfer switch that powers a sump pump from either AC house power or from

my inverter running off of a bank of batteries. The message here is that this is that transfer

switch. You just have to decode the instructions written for RVs and boats into this sump pump application.

And of course, if it works for my sump pump, then it works for RVs and boats.

Also, by the way, the inverter I am using is also from Go Power! and I am very happy

with it as well. It did a great job for me when Hurricane Sandy knocked out my power

for 11.5 days.

So I bought this because 1) it could do 6V and 12V and 2) it had a digital display for voltage and percent charge. It chooses automatically between 6 and 12V fine. The display however, seems quite off. The voltage is ~0.2V off vs a multimeter, but to be fair the resolution is only 0.1V so its hard to say exactly how off it is. The percent charge, which I was most interested in, appears way off. I had a 6V motorcycle battery that sat all winter, read ~3.5V before charging. I hooked it up, on the slow trickle charge setting recommended for small batteries, and it read 90% state of charge to begin. The SOC rose quickly to the high 90's, where it sat for quite awhile until fully charged. I understand there are a lot of battery types and sizes out there, so this may be hard to calculate, but I thought everyone should have a proper expectation about it. I like to monitor this type of information, which is why I elected for this model with SOC display (I didn't really need the 12A). Now I wish I would've just went with a more basic model.

Other Good:

It does kick out automatically to a maintenance mode once fully charged, and automatically start charging after a power loss.

Other Bad:

The fan is loud, and there is no on/off switch (you must unplug it). Also, while charging, the display switches between the SOC and the voltage setting(6 or 12). It would be more helpful to see an actual real-time voltage instead of what setting it is on. To check voltage status with the unit, you must abort charging and put into testing mode, then go back to charging.

The product was as described. As background, the panel is glued to a rubber membrane, and that in turn has a adhesive that is covered with waxed paper until you are ready to instll (glue it down) onto the roof of the RV. When I first rolled out the panel there were some obvious bubbles where the lamenent between the panel and the rubber membrane had separated during storage or shipping ( one panel was from September 2009, another from November 2010 both were the same. I rolled out and left flat for 4 hours in the hot sun and the bubbles id not go away. However, the sun softened the glue so I could insert an old dull dinner knofe (not sharp!) between the panel and the membrane to allow the trapped air to get out. I then used a linoleum roller (a bread rolling pin would work but there would be troubkle on the home front). The knife was a sticky mess, but once the ir was out panel and membrane layed flat. I don't know waht you would do in 50 degree weather a heat gun and the same knife/and roller might work. I installed 4 panels so I used the provided 10 gauge wire on the roof to a single location where I upsized befor dropping through the roof and to the controller/batteries. I have isolated each panel each outperforms the 68 watt 4-amp specs, and they do this in partial shade!! and late in the afternoon. Very pleased. When you put a load on the battery, like moving out the slide on and RV, they hang right in there on peak power. I was not impressed with putting 20 holes in the roof to mount each panel with the heavy rubber hardware provided. I see manufacturere now has replaced most of these screws with glue down rubber mounting hardware, but this is clearly older stock. I ended up using standard RV Endurabond roof tape, with RV caulk around its edge to keep its glue from being tacky. Way cleaner, lighter, in weight and color, and, in my opinion, all that is needed to hold a streamline waterproof attachment. ANd way better than rattling hardwar on the roof for a standard metal framed panel. Yes the metal panel is cheaper and more powerful, but too much hassle raising and lowering them every time you stop to get max amps.

This would by my forth XM unit I've used since signing up in 2003. I've used the SkyFi, the SkyFi2, the RoadyXT (My brother actually) and now, the SkyFi3. Choosing this unit itself was a no-brainer when shopping around for portable units.

The SkyFi3 takes all the functionality of my beloved SkyFi2 (pause/rewind features more than anything) and crosses it with the versatility of the Helix/Inno. Unlike the Helix and the Inno though, this unit has a bias towards car use, yet still gives you the option to be completely mobile (With the purchase of the antenna/headphone set). The Helix/Inno units, which are primarily for on-the-go usage, have a much smaller, yet more colorful screen than the SkyFi3, and also include a built in antenna for on-the-go Live XM feed without any extra accessories.

The SkyFi3 on the other hand, has a much bigger screen, though monochrome, that make viewing from afar much easier. Also, as stated above, unlike the Helix/Inno, this unit has the ability to pause and rewind live feed. It is the first of it's kind to accept MicroSD memory cards for your own music to be added to your playlists, giving you nearly unlimited storage. Be warned though, Recording Live XM feed is limited to the built in 256MB (~10 Hours). The only potential downfall this unit has over the Helix/Inno would be it's large size in comparison. Also, having such a large screen could potentially get scratched much easier. The SkyFi3 is significantly cheaper than the Inno/Helix and when bought through certain retailers, you are given a voucher to get the $50 Standard Wearable Kit for free.

As for the overall sound quality, as long as you are using the SureConnect or a direct wired connection to your car radio, quality is equal to any other XM unit (Of course, using a non-modulated method will be the absolute best). But if you attempt to use just straight up Wireless FM Transmitter, forget it. Total trash. I am going to assume the FCC forced Delphi to use a much lower power transmitter. I live in the Buffalo, NY area and I've gone through the entire FM band and couldn't find a single channel that even made it usable. The SureConnect kit that comes with the SkyFi3 is just a clip that connects to your AM/FM antenna on the outside of your car, then connects to a wire that plugs into your car kit. Make sure you use this unless you have another method of hard wiring the unit to your radio (either by FM Modulation of an Aux input port)

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The other reviews on this page pretty well describe this unit. Just a few other points I would add:

The unit will hold up to ten hours of XM recordings in its "on-board" memory. With the appropriate micro SD card you can add another 2 gig of MP3 files from your computer. The on-board recordings can be integrated into playlists with the downloaded material.

Unlike the Inno, you can leave this unit in the car dock and it will still come on and record any channels you tell it to (provided the antenna is in a position to receive the signal; i.e., NOT in the garage). Timer recordings do have to be set up while the unit is hooked up to your PC.

If you unit does lock up on you, it CAN be reset by simultaneously pressing the "mode" button and holding the volume "up" button.

The auxillary input jack on the unit is great for hooking up CD players, iPods, etc. The nice thing about it is that you can leave the peripheral item constantly plugged in; the jack doesn't automatically override the radio or My Music functions. You use the "mode" button to go to auxillary.

Best Deals for Delphi SkyFi3 XM Satellite Radio with Car Kit

I have owned this unit for about 6 weeks and have found it solid on all levels. I use it at home (using the home docking kit), in the car, and while walking around to listen to live XM. The unit I purchased came with a free headset, but the $50 upgrade to get an extended battery (which amounts to a rubber jacket with a battery that plugs into the bottom of the skyfi unit) is well worth it if you're planning on using it for more than 90 minutes when moving about. I've been able to get about 7 hours of live XM using the extended battery, which is as advertised.

Pros for the unit include: 1) Easily readable, rotatable screen helpful for car applications 2) artist and song tuneselect (which allows you to mark songs/artists that you would like to be notified when they are on another channel). 3) recording ability and recording scheduler 4) Easy file system management 5)Mini SD slot if XM isn't enough!

The only cons I can list are the lack of an integrated antennae and the fact that the headphones used as a antennae are a little bit weak on the volume level (if you're on a loud subway, it's kind of hard to hear). Also, don't expect reception where there isn't line of sight or strong terrestrial repeater (more than 2 bars) either, but I suppose that is expected.

It should be noted that this unit only has an FM Transmitter when using the car kit (and it's fairly weak at that). If you are looking for an FM Transmitter to go with this unit, a MUST is the Whole House FM Transmitter Gold Edition (Whole House FM Transmitter -Gold Edition: Wireless Stereo Audio AdapterCovers Entire Home Guaranteed. It will cover all of your FM Modulation needs, no matter where.

Overall, I would highly recommend this product to anybody who wants a "every unit" receiver that can fulfill home, car, and walkbout duties.

Honest reviews on Delphi SkyFi3 XM Satellite Radio with Car Kit

I bought the SkyFi2 abou 9 months ago. I went to Fry's and was immediately drawm to the larger display. I wound up buying from Amazon because it was $50 less. The unit is awesome. I have a motorhome that I wanted to have it to use in there and its critical that I do not play with dials, etc.. while I am driving. This unit makes it easier to see with the larger display and the construction feels better as well.

So far, the SKyfi3 seems to be the best for XM units that offer the versatility of home and car as well as portability.

I'm about to send back my second SkiFi to Delphi for a replacement. Here are some things that have gone wrong with the units I've owned:

1. Bad reception and repeated "Check Antennae" messages, even when standing in the middle of a field under a clear sky.

2. Screen will not light up when power button is pushedguy on the phone gives "helpful suggestion" to push down volume and power buttons at the same time.

4. Radio comes on, but screen does not. After several attempts, this finally corrects itself.

5. Recorded songs skip and freeze. Seriously.

6. Screen freezes and will NOT unfreeze. As another poster has noted, you have to drain the battery to get it unstuck. Speaking of which...

7. Don't even bother to get this unless you get the extended battery or only intend to use it in the car. The standard battery lasts 30 minutes on Live XM.

8. Antennae Jack died on first unit after less than three months. Delphi will replace, but I lost a dozen songs I had recorded. Plus the hassle of returning stuff.

9. Again, I am about to send back my SECOND unit in less than four months (my first replacement started showing bugs before the first WEEK was up.)

An on-off switch would be really, really helpful, as the "Mode" button seems very tempermental.

UPDATE: Received my THIRD SkiFi3 (second replacement) todayit was preloaded with more than 200 songs (which means it wasnt new, it was usedand it wasn't in it's original packaging btw), froze right away, and the volume didn't work. Delphi is sending me a new unit with a prepaid mailer to send back the old one in. Meanwhile, I estimate that I have paid for approximately one month of XM I didn't get because my unit was broken or in transit to or from Delphi.

Save yourself a headache: Don't buy this unit. I couldn't get a star to delete on my rating; I would give it one or no stars.

I've purchased many brands and types of car chargers for my iPad and iPhone. This one is by far the most powerful. I can charge a DEAD iPhone to 100% in 50 min. iPad from 40% to 100% in 40 min. Don't know if this is unique but that's what mine does consistently. Absolutely love mine.
