I bought this car charger for my boyfriend's cell for Christmas 2012. He loves it, and it perfectly fits his Blackberry Torch 9800, and hasn't had any problems so far. He likes that the cord is retractable so it makes it easy to transport and store away in the car while he isn't using it, and helps protect it from getting tangled. The charge is very fast as advertised and works well! I'd recommend it to anyone, great for the price! Again, he has only had it since Christmas, so I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't know how long it lasts, but by the looks of things, It's going to last for some time.

The LG Ally I have is WOEFULLY short of battery life: it runs down in partial day increments. The only way to fight this is to have a docking station that allows you to keep the charge and use it. This does a good job, and, as a bonus, can attach to your computer to backup those files that everything accumulates and which are more pricey than any repacement phone: numbers, addresses, and notes. I have one for the car (I take long trips weekly, and navigation wears down the battery fast) and one for the office. Really think about getting two.

I bought this for my LG Ally so I could dock it while working on my computer, and have a nice place to update it. Unfortunately, its dimensions do not have any give to allow for a case for the phone. I have a soft/hard plastic case and with it, the phone is too big to use the docking station. I honestly have been meaning to use this docking station, but because of the inconvenience of having to take the cover off, I just haven't really used it.

Bottom line: works great with LG Ally without a cover.

I bought this in order to put on my nightstand for charging my phone at night. IF I didn't have a cover on my phone it would have worked just fine BUT because I do it now won't fit. I'm not going to take the cover off every time I want to use the stand so it goes into the pile of this could have been a good idea. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. So many people these days do put covers on their phones and I think that should be taken into consideration by the manufacturer. They would have only had to make it just a bit bigger to accommodate the phone with a cover.

I have used boat battery chargers on every big boat that I have owned. Some required very large systems, because they basically counted one(1)battery as a bank. I purchased this, not for my boat(I already have one on it), but for a back up to my solar charged 12 battery electric system(3 banks of 4 batteries).

I rewired both the solar charging system and the existing backup system to integrate it with this charger. Because it is probable, that batteries may be in use, even at night, I disabled the "Boost" 2nd stage of the charger, so that it would not be overcharging any of the battery banks. When overcharging they gas and boil out the electrolyte. With manual chargers, you have to sit right on them and make sure that they are not boiling over. The 1st "Bulk' Charge rate will take them to 80%, and the way that I have set the charger(manual explains how)it will then go to the third stage, "Float." All done, automatically.

Samlex makes great products and, 'they ain't cheap.' Amazon's vendor sells this cheaper than I have seen it, anywhere in this country. I was concerned that I might not be getting it when I was originally told that I would, but these good folks stepped up to the plate and got it to me exactly one day after it shipped. Incredible. This old, 'DIY Engineer' highly recommends both the Amazon partner and Samlex products.

The charger works perfectly. It has one ground (negative) terminal along with 3 positive terminals. The 3 stages (as I understand) will help prolong the life of a deep cycle battery. This charger has two dip switches that the user can adjust depending upon what type of battery is being charged.

I have the unit permanently mounted near my battery bank. The cord is run a couple of feet over to the receptacle. It is a tad bit inconvenient to pull the cord when I want to shut it down but I can live with that. I may be showing my ignorance by saying that it should have an on off switch. But that is the only thing negative that I have to say.

After you get your phone, come to Amazon and get this charger for your car. It works just fine, and is way cheaper than the rip off you will get at Best Buy.

I gave this item 5 stars because of the price. After a couple weeks worth of use, the only suggestion I would make for the product is to make the cord at least 6 inches longer. However, after conditioning the cord (stretching it back and forth like a rubber band for a few minutes), the length is acceptable. I can now easily talk on the phone while the phone is plugged in.

We have two of these, we keep one in my wife's car and the other in mine. Our main use is to monitor traffic back-ups (delays) on the Interstate. For this purpose, it works great.

For more regular use, I would recommend getting the external (magnet-base) antennae. This significantly boosts both the reception and transmission. I carry one of these antennaes in my trunk for longer trips. There are not many choices out there for hand-held CBs -Based on what's out there, this seems like a good choice.

We had to take a long roadtrip during some questionable weather. I wanted to have a CB in the minivan so I could listen to truckers, learn about traffic problems, and hear about road conditions. Also, I wanted a weather radio. This unit had the features I desired. It was quickly delivered and worked fine out-of-the-box. I used the included 12v adapter and kept it powered up during the whole trip. I used a roof mounted Cobra antenna (A1500) coupled to this radio via a BNC-to-Standard adapter. Because I didn't know what language I'd hear over the CB, I also got a earphone/microphone combination that plugs into this handheld. This setup worked great on the trip. Range wasn't wonderful probably about a mile or so. But I did not have the equipment to set the SWR of the antenna so I wasn't too surprised. (An internal SWR meter would have earned this 5 stars.) Would I get it again? Yes, the setup worked out fine for us. Truckers could hear me fine (if within range) and I could hear them. It was nice listening to weather radio also.

This CB Radio is identical to the model sold as the "HH Road Trip". For a dollar more, the latter model also includes a magnetic rooftop antenna with coax cable. The radios are the same, down to the model number inside the package, the manual, and the FCC type certification.

I think Amazon should tell users that the HH Road Trip includes an antenna for the same cost, and is the same product. Otherwise, they should reduce the price of this package to account for the lack of a magnetic mount antenna.

The Cobra HH38WXST Handheld CB Radio is an excellent radio for anyone looking for something portable and well-built. This radio claims to have a 4-mile range, but it seems to be closer to 2 miles in the woods, and 5 miles in an open city. I also purchased the extension antenna from Cobra, which extends to 27". This will increase your range dramatically. In the woods, near the lake, I can talk to truckers over 15 miles away. I can easily hear the drivers 8 miles away, and you can quietly hear the drivers approximatly 15 miles away. The only problem is that you may be able to hear that far, but you must be within 4 miles of that radio to talk to them. It is all in the reception.

If I had the option to recommend this product, I will tell everyone in the market for a Portable CB Radio. If you are planning on using it for a base unit, though, look for one with an external antenna and mountable. This radio does not pick up well in vehicles without the optional Car-Mounted Antenna, which I have not tried as of yet.

Cheap Cellet Bullet Retractable USB Car Charger for Samsung S3, S4, Note

I had bought this to charge my DroidX since I had no official car-charger, and I had bought it with the knowledge that it is, in fact, a $6 charger-and-cable set. I actually bought two with the purpose of both having one to test, and having one to crack open and reveal its secrets.

For those who are techy, it uses an MC34063A linear voltage regulator, which means it is subject to heat up. The chip itself is rated for a switched current max of 1.5A, however this is only a peak current rating and should never be sustained. Of course, the standard Motorola AC charging adapter puts out a decent 800mA of power, and bullet charger is rated to 750mA; this is overall an acceptable value.

For those who AREN'T techy, its like a "regulated resistor" (so to speak), where it drops the voltage that comes in (+12v) to the necessary output (+5v) by converting the extra energy to heat. This means that more than half of the power coming into the chip is just being burned up...literally...and the higher the input voltage, the hotter it will get.

As far as overheating, after 10 minutes of charging my nearly-charged DroidX, it not only became almost too hot to remove from the socket without gloves, but also heated up the cable to a concerning degree, as well as bringing my phone's battery temperature above normal charging temp. While not entirely destructive, it does mean the charger is prone to early failure, as well as potentially damaging the cable attached.

In summary, it is a very inefficient design prone to quick failure, has a mild potential to damage equipment, and it subject to extreme overheating, however this does form a good base to build off of, using its board and case as a starting point to replace with a true switched regulator with a heatsink.

If you're looking for something to work out-of-box, this is not the purchase for you, unless you're looking for a $6 micro-USB cable. If you're looking for something to tinker with to make absolutely perfect without having to pay ridiculous prices to achieve, than this is definitely worth the purchase.

I received my package in the mail, and it didn't look at all like the picture on Amazon. It appeared to be a cheap knockoff. It didn't have the Cellet brand name on it, nor the metal ring around the base. It was all plastic and the tip that plugs into the lighter was loos and needed to be screwed back on. I was too afraid to plug my phone into it, so I'm in the process of sending it back.

Same as other reviewers... ordered this item and got a completely different car charger. It was a huge black plastic one with a permanently affixed coil cord. Complained to vendor and they sent a cheap plastic knock off that's shaped like the cellet one. The real product might actually be good, who knows. Unfortunately the vendor isn't.
