This has a nice tight beam with tremendous carry, but also has a nice halo circle for broader illumination as well. It lights up objects and animals at tremendous distances. On testing it the first time I spotted an animal eye more than 200 yards away. Holding the light steady for a few seconds, I saw a cat turn and walk away. That's at least as far as I could see a cat in daylight. The output at the lower level campares very favorably with a 650 lumen LED spotlight I already owned. It is easy to use and carry, not being overly heavy, and seems to function fully as advertised as to chargeing, indicator lights, etc. This is a really impressive light in function. I cannot comment on its durabilty as I just recently purchased it, nor have I timed the charged battery run time. I can say that it puts out an awesome amount of light for its size and weight. I am totally pleased so far.

This thing throws a lot of light, yet is very lightweight and compact for a pistol grip spotlight. I just got it, so I can't comment on how long it will last, other than to say that it looks and feels quite sturdy. The grip is comfortable, and the trigger lock/unlock bar and the beam intensity button can be activated with the same hand holding it. It has a very nice fold out stand built-in. This allows you to set the light on the ground with the beam pointing up at a 45 degree angle.
The light beam is white and bright with a long reach. It has an intense focused beam in the center which is 10 15 feet in diameter at about 150 feet. Surrounding that is a 90 degree cone of light that is fairly substantial. I'm surrounded by trees, so I can't estimate how far the beam reaches, but an object 150 feet away is lit up like daylight. The focus of the beam is not adjustable. The light always comes on at high intensity, but the power toggle is easy to reach. The LED beam gives off very little heat.
The thing that impresses me most is the battery life. The combination of the lithium ion battery and the LED give this torch a one hour life at high intensity and five hours at the lower intensity. I did test this at high intensity and it was still going strong after an hour. The low intensity setting still provides a great deal of light with a fairly long range. This is probably the setting that I will use most.
The light is shipped in a partially charged state and the manufacturer recommends charging for about six hours before using. The AC charger is a small brick. The owners manual says this will take about 6 hours to charge from a discharged state, but mine charged up in about an hour, despite the indicator light being red initially (discharged). The light will work with the AC charger plugged in, but the spotlight is still drawing power from the battery and the manufacturer doesn't recommend doing this. The light can be used indefinitely when plugged into a twelve volt outlet in your vehicle. Either charger plugs into the same receptacle on the spotlight.
In summary, this is a very bright, sturdy, versatile, lightweight spotlight that I expect to use frequently for a long time. It should be fantastic for camping because of the battery life and the ability to recharge it from your vehicle. It would have been nice if it had come with a case or bag to keep it together with the charging cables, but still a great value.

This light is very VERY bright. You could blind someone with this thing maybe it is so bright. Works great in my crawl space when the lights burn out, and works almost to well in-doors for finding things in the shadows.

I have a 5 acre lot, and needed a good spotlight for looking at my yard at night. I had been using my makita rechargeable flashlight that came with my screw driver/drill set. it was ok, but not bright enough to find my dog even at 300 feet... unless she was looking at me and her eyes reflected. So a replacement was on the list!
I first tried the Cyclops 9w 3x LED spotlight. It was pretty much the same as my makita light, just whiter since it was LED and a little more focused. At 300 feet -only a TAD brighter... not worth the money.
So, after some more research and looking at a flashlight message board, i figured I'd give this light a try. I got it 7 hours before it got dark, perfect for the 6 hour initial charge time (it indicated fully charged before that).
So, to the point: This light is AMAZING. I didn't know a single LED could produce that much light, and throw that far. At 300 feet, you can see very brightly and in detail. AT 500 feet, it still shines noticeable light, but it didn't look with binoculars to see how bright it really was. At 600 feet i shined it on my house and it was bright enough to squint from the reflection on the windows when the reflection hit me. There are trees at about 850 feet from where i was testing, and I could see my light shining on those without straining. Not super bright, but noticeable. The moon was fairly bright as well, so on a really dark night, it would probably be even more noticeable. There is a dim setting, which you almost HAVE to use if you are doing something up close... this review is based on bright setting, who cares about dim!?
If you are looking for an inexpensive spotlight, LED or otherwise, buy this. Time will tell how long the quality is good for, but this thing is crazy bright and throws extremely far. If you want something better, you are gonna spend way more money, and you may need an HID flashlight... which will eat your batteries. I have no tested battery life on this light yet. i only use it for a minute or so at a time.

It's really bright. Hard to believe it's an LED light. Use it in my car connected to DC connector. Amazon says I need one more word.
