Review of Micro-usb Rapid Car Charger Compatible with Pantech Crux 8999
My mom is new to the mobile phone car charging experience, so I purchased this with the phone so she would have a charger where ever she goes. She loves it. Just plug it in. It is sturdy and we've had it for over two years now with no problems.Great charger at alot less than our cell phone company wanted. Charges my Pantech and my husbands LG phones quickly. Very satisfied.

Review of Power Max Maintenence-Free Battery YTX7A-BS GTX7A-BS
Shipped quickly, arrived as advertised but doesn't seem to have the staying power to last more than 2 weeks without a trickle charger. Guess it would be ok for a bike that is ridden daily, but this one only gets out every other weekend.did the job no complaints. We ended up using this on a 50cc atv. And so far so good. Its been over a month and fires the thing up everytime no problems.

Discount Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter mini-USB Rapid Rate Charger
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $29.99

The seller was CCMACCESSORIES. I paid 7 bucks. It works great. Here are some details:
The cord length (from tip of charger to tip of connector):
Not stretched-out: about 3 feet
Stretched-out: about 6 feet and 8 inches.
A note about the "stretched-out" length:
If stretched to its limit, then there is tension in the cord (maybe enough to pull the charger from the socket). So you may want to assume about 6 feet in length, which would place less tension on the charger/socket.
The charger (the part that plugs into the 12V socket) is about 4.5 inches long.
For my application, I'm able to tie-off the cord near the beginning and near the end, so only the middle part of the cord gets the most tension (so I don't have to be concerned about the charger or the connector pulling-out due to tension in the cord).
The connector is a mini-USB (not a micro-USB)...know the difference before you buy. Motorola makes this charger in both sizes.
There is a faint green LED light that glows when the unit is "on". It lights the circular area on the charger. It's difficult to see during daylight, and it is not obtrusive at night.
There is a small clip near the charger side of the cord, so the cord can be bundled-up a bit if needed.

The Cell Phone Stores locally charge up to and including 30dollars dor these types of car chargers. Well Forget retail, thank you amazon and motorola for selling a product that is much better then retail stores for a fraction of the price. Fantastic. Also, the higher current (around 1.0amp) is perfect for most droids. Fantastic Product, Excellent price...buy here and hopefully retail will be a thing of the past!Best Deals for Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter mini-USB Rapid Rate Charger
I bought this because of the great price on Amazon. I use it to plug into my Seidio car cradle for my Motorola Droid phone (serves as my GPS). The original charger cable frayed where the mini-USB plugs into the cradle because it's basically at a 90 degree angle. This charger adapter seems much better made and hasn't shown any signs of wear. It fits snuggly into my power/lighter slot, isn't too larger, and produces a nice cobalt blue light. I think this has been a very good purchase.Honest reviews on Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter mini-USB Rapid Rate Charger

I have for many yrs gotten my car chargers & other cell phone accessories from another website. They are very inexpensive, often with free shipping, and I have never had a problem with anything I ever bought for any of our cell phones chargers, batteries, etc. This charger stopped charging my phone after about 8 or 10 uses. (My other car chargers are still working 2 yrs later when I change phones.) At 1st I thought it was the cigarette lighter electrical source but my GPS charges fine. Not the phone the wall charger works perfectly. And, from day one, this charger wouldn't stay in the socket -kept slipping out. For $3 I'm not making a federal case out of this, but I contacted the seller about it a week ago & they've not gotten back to me. I won't be buying any more cell phone accessories here.Honest reviews on Premium Car Charger For LG Lucid

AccuPower AP12243 Car Adapter for IQ328 Battery Charger Analyzer Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $17.95
Sale Price: $12.95
Today's Bonus: 28% Off

This charger works great with the La Crosse Technology BC1000 battery charger. It is nice to have a way to charge from a 12 volt power supply.
I have tested the IQ-328 and compared it against the BC1000. The input power requirements for both charger units are exactly the same. Each charger unit is powered by a wall unit (AC-DC adapter) that is rated for input of 100-240V AC, and output of 3V 4A max. I have even swapped their power adapters, and found absolutely no problems.
The IQ-328, just like BC1000, uses pulsed charging current at 25% duty cycle. That means when charging one cell at 1000mA (1A) setting, the charger outputs 4A for 0.25 second, then zero for the next 0.75 second. That's why the peak-current requirement of the power supply is 4A, even though the average current is 1A for each cell.
In the case of BC-700, its maximum charging current is 0.7A. So the required peak input current is just 2.8A. There is no problem in using an adapter rated for higher current capacity.
Bottom line is: The charger unit cannot tell the brand of the power supply used. At long as it receives the correct voltage and current required, it will operate correctly. That's why you can use this same adapter to power either the IQ-328 or the BC1000.
Important Note:
This adapter should NOT be used with the La Crosse BC500. The charger unit of BC500 accepts 12V DC input. Therefore all you need is a pass-through cigarette lighter adapter with the same 2.1/5.5mm barrel plug.
My problem here is that the adapter was marketed either by Amazon or by the seller as being for the LaCrosse BC1000 charger/analyzer. It *might* even work for that purpose, but checking with LaCrosse, I got an email back from their Customer Service that says:
"With regard to the following from your email: "If you could look further into the AccuPower Car adapter or please refer me to a car adapter of your own for the BC1000"
Unfortunately, there are no car adapaters that can be advised for use with the BC1000 as it is intended for home/standard outlet use. Our BC500 model is designed with car use in mind, and can also work at home. Again, with regard to "AccuPower", we have no information on that brand. You noted a BC800 and information attained from an Austrailian source. There are variant models of our product that are produced for areas outside of North America. The BC800 would be one of these. Thank you."
Obviously, somebody somehow somewhere made a connection between this adapter and the LaCrosse equipment *apparently* without bothering to ask LaCrosse. That's a bad idea without some coordination there could be issues with the adapter causing damage to the charger and from a warranty perspective, such use probably voids the warranty.
A side note: The AccuPower charger/analyzer that was listed, IQ328, sure looks a lot and by its Owners Manual, operates a lot like the LaCrosse BC1000. Considering the way that so much consumer electronics 'comes from the same factory with different names on it' who knows, they could come off virtually the same assembly line. I have run into cases where this is literally true with some Amateur Radio equipment.
If anyone has any verifiable knowledge of this being the case with the LaCrosse and AccuPower equipment, please follow up to my review and we can check back with both LaCrosse and AccuPower customer service and try and nail this down with regard to using the car adapter.

The AccuPower AP12243 Car Adapter is designed to power the AccuPower IQ-328 Battery Charger Analyzer from your vehicle's 12V/24V cigarette lighter outlet. There seems to be some doubts on whether it can also be used to power the La Crosse BC-700 or BC1000 chargers. Here is to put all the doubts to rest...I have tested the IQ-328 and compared it against the BC1000. The input power requirements for both charger units are exactly the same. I should qualify my 1-star by stating that my irritation isn't aimed at the product itself the adapter looks like it is well made and most likely delivers the voltage and current that it claims to. I haven't hooked it up to an oscilloscope to look at the output YET.My problem here is that the adapter was marketed either by Amazon or by the seller as being for the LaCrosse BC1000 charger/analyzer. The auxiliary cable isn't working correctly jumping in and out of songs. This is very aggravating when riding. You would think this would be an easy fix but nope, the genius that designed this had the auxiliary cable hard wired into the amplifier. This system in completely useless to me. Best iFlash® Mini USB Car Charger Vehicle Power Adapter - Rose Red Color Deals
I have a LG Lucid smartphone that eats batteries like I eat chocolate. I even purchased a new battery but neither one lasts more than 4 hours if I use the phone for texting, surfing the web, and email. My previous USB charger charged at 500ma (1/2 Amp) and it took too long to charge in the car. In fact, it wouldn't charge at all while I was using it because the current being used was the same amount as the current of the charger. This iFlash Mini USB charger provides 1,000ma (1 Amp) of current and it's capable of charging the phone quickly. It also charges the phone if I'm using it while I'm driving (which I do). I don't take my eyes off the road while texting since my phone allows me to talk, while it types my text. If your current USB charger doesn't provide 1 Amp of current, I would highly recommend getting this one. If it had been cheaper, I would have given it 5 stars. You can buy USB chargers for a lot less money, but I couldn't find one cheaper that provided an Amp of current. Most provide 500ma or 750ma. This one gives the full 1,000ma.

I'm comparing this car charger for my iPhone 4 to the Belkin car charger which works extremely well. I bought this on a whim as I needed to charge my iPhone 4 in the car. It charges extremely slow and then roughly 6 months after purchase it heats my iPhone up so hot that the phone stops charging. It just shows the plugged in icon instead of charging icon. I don't have much experience with Rocket Fish accessories but this is by far a failure in my honest opinion.Monday, July 14, 2014

The device work okay. It charges like to should.
The biggest drawback is if there is anything on the same circuit, like a cigarette charger, you will have an issue.
This device does not have diode to prevent current draw from the device you charge. So if you leave your device plugged in and you have anything else on the circuit sharing with this charger, it will discharge your device.
So remember, once you charge a device unplug it.
THis is why I only gave it 3 stars. I'll add a series diode, but for now I'm not using the charger.

Midland GXT2050VP4 50-Channel GMRS with 36-Mile Range Review

List Price: $129.99
Sale Price: $98.09

These are very nice radios. Great sound quality, excellent look (they look solid, and not like toys at all). The performance is what you should expect (forget about 36 miles!) from a basic non-repeater capable GMRS two way radio. I can send/receive around town about 1 mile away, and across entire larger ski resorts (our primary use for them). The fast charges are excellent, and one of the primary reasons I went for these. Battery life is very good, at more than 24 hrs of standby with some talking mixed in. Might even be longer. The headsets are a joke, and I never use them. Midland offers much better options if you really need a headset.
Edit: I should have added that the first sets I received had a battery issue. They seemed like they wouldn't hold a charge, even after a full charging. The battery meters would jump all over, and the radios would switch to low power. I contacted Midland Customer Service, and they were outstanding. It took a few days to figure out what was going on, but once they did, they sent me three brand new sets as replacements, and I sent the bad units to them. The problem was something with the battery contacts or something with some of the initial shipments. The new radios work perfect and I give an A+ to Midland Customer Service.
I plan to return the batteries to Midland in hope they can provide replacements that work as advertised. My recommendation is NOT purchase the GXT2000 or 2050 if your reason is because of the enhanced batteries unless you are willing to risk it. Don't bother sending an email to Midland using their website. Just call them and they should allow you return for working parts.
UPDATE: Midland support says that the problem is the battery contacts both on the radio and the rechargeable batteries need to be cleaned with rubbing alcohol! In fact, if you return the radios or batteries to Midland, they will simply send you back parts that have been cleaned. She told me they have a crew now that is working to doing this to their existing inventory! I have not tried this yet but will update once more after I do. Hope it works for you if are having the same problem.
Skip the entry level headset and buy the Midland AVPH3 or Pryme SPM-1400.
As my return windows ended. on july 1'st i received the following:
"Good Morning Toufic, I have sent some spare batteries out to you since the new ones have not arrived yet from overseas. This sometimes takes a while. I will try to keep you updated once I am updated.
Thank you for your patience,"
Guess what ?? the batteries she sent are all defected batteries that had the same problem as mine.
Answers i received while asking for the replacement batteries during the 4 month:
" Thank you for contacting Midland Radio Warranty Service Department. I am sorry to hear that the batteries have been giving you issues. There are batteries currently on order and should arrive in about a week. Once they are in, I will have 2 sent to you. Until then, your units can work on 4-AA alkaline batteries."

I was excited about these radios and was encouraged by all the good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as others here. One of the radios of the pair would cut out during transmit. I thought I was unlukcy and had gotten a bad pair. I returned them and ordered another set. The second set I received was not any better. One of the radios from the 2nd set exhibited the same problem but would also go dead after a minute or two even though it indicated it has a full charge both on the radio display and on the charger. I suspect there is a quality control issue although I've yet to hear of any other reports of similar issues. None the less I will be returning the 2nd set and looking somewhere other than Midland for a good quality GMRS 2-way radio.Best Deals for Midland GXT2050VP4 50-Channel GMRS with 36-Mile Range
I purchased the GTX2000 radios and one of the radios would stop transmitting after about 1 second. This appears to be a common issue. Now on my second set from a different vendor and having the same problem with both radios. The whole reason for purchasing these was for the extended (upgraded) rechargeable batteries. But apparently these new batteries could be the source of the problem. I don't have this problem if I use AA batteries. However, AA batteries will die must faster.I plan to return the batteries to Midland in hope they can provide replacements that work as advertised. These radios are fantastic. Easy to use, great reception and sound quality, long life of the rechargeable batteries, and the option to use AA batteries if needed. Not sure if I still have time to return it for replacement or not but will check. If so, I'll update the review.

The item shipped is the wrong part for my Audiovox DVD player. The power plug won't fit my player and I simply have not had time to return the item. Of course, I didn't notice this until the day I left for vacation and it was too late to do anything about having the wrong part. Not their fault of course, but it pays to check as soon as you receive something like this. Not sure if I still have time to return it for replacement or not but will check.
