I do alot of boondocking (dry camping) and haven't installed solar panels yet. I've outfitted the coach with 2 6volt deep cycle batteries and this charger. We use the batteries most of the day and night for 2 tv's, pump, lights etc. This charger gets the batteries back to full power very quick using the generator. Before I installed this charger the generator seemed to be running all the time. This is the cats meow!

Can't keep the RV plugged in at home since this converter keeps tripping my GFCI outlet. Read lots of comments online that newer converters can't be used with GFCI outlets which is unacceptable absent a clear warning that this product can't be used with shore power that utilizes gfci circuit protection. Given that all modern building codes require GFCI outlets in garages and exterior outlets, manufacturing a power converter that can't be plugged in to a GFCI protected circuit is absurd. What good is a converter that can't be used to keep the batteries charged while plugged in at home? Even the 20 year old Magnatek that it replaced didn't trip the GFCI outlet.

I informed IOTA of the problem and it took them a full week to issue an RMA (come on guys, a full week just to issue an RMA?!). Upon issuing the RMA, they also attach a pdf file with a load of legal jargon and disclaimers about items being sent back but found by them to be non-defective "shall be scrapped and no refund issued." They even highlight this passage in yellow. If I knew that IOTA had such a hostile warranty policy I wouldn't have purchased their product in the first place. Moreover, I had to pay for return shipping to IOTA. We'll see how they resolve the matter.

In the meantime, I ordered a comparable Progressive Dynamics unit and will see how their product compares. Can't be without a converter for several weeks until IOTA decides what they feel like doing with a product that is not fit for the intended purpose for which it was manufactured.

I have had Iota products now for some time...about the introduction of their IQ4 smart charging add on. I have always found that their products do what is expected every time, and this item is the same. Nice because the Smart Charge module is included in the device, leaving nothing to hang outside the module.

Used to replace factory charger in RV. Factory module charged a constant 13.6 volts, and killed the battery on board.

This roughly fit in the same space as the factory charger/inverter with little modification needed.

I install solar systems for missionaries in the heart of Africa and have had experience with many chargers. This one is by far the best. It has the best voltage/Hz tolerance. Most of our people run either on a generator system that functions 7hrs x 5 days a week or intermittent city power so we need maximum charge. Those on city power also suffer many surges and brown-outs and these charges keep on working. Our climate is very dusty and hot (+40C ambient 4-6 months of the year) The only problem I ever had was with an early version of the IQ4 module that maxed out the charger and caused it to over heat. These units are second to none.

This little device works as advertised, and it's a must-have for my HTC Incredible, with it's abysmal battery life. The only thing to be careful of: do not leave this plugged in to the dash port when the car is off! It will drain your battery, as it did mine. Nothing against the device, just be aware and don't forget.

A good usable charger for my HTC Droid Incredible at a low price. I was skeptical at first, but the charger works well.

I got this because it was cheap and the old adage, "you get what you pay for" applies here. Stopped working within two weeks and my HTC smartphone gave the message that this wasn't the right charger, my other smartphone would beep and blink as if it didn't like it either. Not worth the little money

It was easy enough to put together after a few logical tries, since the instructions were not great. There are just a few ways to do it wrong and one way to do it right. So it only took a half hour. I somehow felt mislead, that this would charge my auto jump starters (500 amp, 12 v) that I use for light and USB ports when the power goes down. All I got it to do was run its own inverter. That hummed, but didn't power anything, not even a teeny electric clock, but then again maybe you are supposed to do that from a charged battery, to be fair to the manufacturer. They could have given a lot more info considering this is not a cheap system. It was not a dark day, but not the brightest either. I tried it over two days. I later dug up on the web, (not their site!) that it may charge some small batteries in a reasonable time, but not these Stanley or Duracell type battery backups/jump starter/power stations, via the 12V attachment they provide, unless they had weeks and weeks of direct ideal sunlight. So if you want it to charge small things, go for it, it was kind of fun putting it together I have to say, but it went back. It was a good intro though, I think I just need many more watts, maybe 300+ to do what I wanted it to do. The problem is those are very pricey. I was disappointed. I wish before you buy, they would have a list stating how long in good sunlight it takes to charge various different type batteries. It would save a lot of returns. None of them seem to do that, they just show pictures of them hooked to batteries, leading you to think maybe a day or so would do it. I am sure this is good for small batteries or ipods, cell phones, etc. so didn't give one star, but gave just two due to lack of real time charging information before ordering. Like approximately how long for a rechargeable AA battery, how long for a cell phone, how long for a marine battery or backup battery.

I bought this "kit" thinking that it would be complete and easy to set up. Turns out neither was true. It has no battery although I was led to believe from the package it did, as it has a drawing illustrating use with a battery. There are no specifications as to what type of battery you must now purchase.

The kit appears to just lump together various pieces as the individual connectors do not match.

I probably would have been better off buying individual pieces. But as a homeowner novice I assumed this was designed for people like me. But really it dupes people like me.

Also, the support for the panels is very insecure.

To use this I now have to find out what battery I need and purchase this then pay someone to connect the electricals as the instructions are so vague.

I really am disappointed with a brand name like Coleman, which made me purchase this trusting in the brand name.

Great setup for battery charging. I am constantly amazed at the level of knowledge some of the purchasers display.

This is a very small solar array with about 4 amps output @ 12 volts. If you are lucky you will get at most 5 hours of full output per day which translates to about 20 amp hours per day. Do your math that is a 2 amp draw for 10 hours.

This will take 5 days to charge a 100 amp hour battery if you do not run anything else at the same time. There is no free lunch in the solar world. This might work to power small led lights or simple communications equipment with very low amp draw. Quality is good and the voltage regulator has adequate high voltage settings for agm batteries.

Honest reviews on SUNFORCE PRODUCTS 58050 55-watt Solar Charging Kit

I purchased two of these units to recharge the batteries for my travel trailer when we are in remote areas so I do not have to run the generator all the time. They provide about 3 1/2 amps charge to each battery. I have them on a longer cable so I can park the trailer in the shade and place the collectors in the full sun. They will not run the microwave, but they are not designed to. We still need the generator for 120VAC items, like the microwave, etc. but have to run it much less than before. It would be nice if they came with a storage box, but i just built one out of plywood and it keeps it all together and safe. I would like to get more when we can swing it. The quiet is nice.

Everything that was listed what there and in perfect condition. It arrived the exact same day it was supposed to and the only extra things I had to buy to complete the set was a deep cycle marine battery and a 50 ft. MC4 Solarline 2 cable. All in all it was worth the money and I am now running the household appliances I use the most often for at least 8 hours a day for free. It will be longer as soon as I build a stand for the panels. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I own the newer Motorola Roadster and the slightly older Motorola T505. So it made sense to do a head-to-head comparison to see which unit is better.

Design: Both units are compact. The Roadster's layout is somewhat more appealing to my eye. The Roadster's controls are labeled and easy to find. They are also illuminated. The T505's controls are not as well labeled or illuminated, but it is easy to use nonetheless.

The T505 has a reversible mounting clip, so it can work with cars like my Audi, which have sun visors that swing from front-to-rear rather than the usual rear-to-front. Roadster's mounting clip is not reversible, so I must mount it backwards in order to use it. Once the unit is mounted backwards, throw those easy-to-read labels and icons out the window. The T505 is made from plastic. So is the Roadster, but it also is partially covered by a nylon or poly cloth material that could prove to be less durable. While the Roadster features a more updated look, the lack of a reversible mounting clip gives a slight advantage to the T505, as the Roadster is hard to use when mounted backward.

Pairing. Both bluetooth units pair very easily, but the advantage goes to the Roadster, which announces that it is ready to pair and then does so quickly. Things couldn't be much easier then that. But the T505 is also easy to pair, just not quite as easy as Roadster. Also, the Roadster turns itself on when you enter the car, which is nice. The T505 must be turned on manually.

I paired both units with a newer Palm Pixi Plus and a slightly older Palm Treo 755p. While Roadster initially paired with this somewhat older 755p, after a couple of days it would no longer pair. I tried everything I could think of and got to pair eventually, but it later developed the same problem, dropping pairing and then refusing to pair. The T-505 paired and remained connected without issues. While the Roadster pairs easier than the T505, I had no issues with the T505 and I had several problems with Roadster's pairing. Advantage: T505.

Streaming Music: Both units can stream MP3s from your cell phone through your car stereo. When advancing from one track to the next, Roadster required me to hold down the advance button for much longer than I'd like to, creating a distraction while driving. A single touch on that key pauses the music but it must be held down for awhile to advance the track. I had to hold the button down to the point where it was annoying. Also, the advance takes longer than I'd like and is accompanied by a very loud beep and then a clicking sound. Also, with Roadster, I cannot revert to the previously played track. With the T505, I simply click on the right side button to advance and the left side button to go back. Changes from track to track only require a short touch, the change is immediate and it is not accompanied by the obnoxious beep tone or clicking noise. Advantage T505.

Speakerphone: The Roadster's built in speakerphone is louder and clearer than the T505's. If you are using the speakerphone and not streaming to FM stereo, the advantage goes to the Roadster.

Output to FM stereo: Both units have similar output strength to FM. It could be better but both units are much better than a Jabra unit that I tested earlier. I'd consider the output to FM on both units to be on the better side of acceptable. Roadster can select a specific FM frequency that you'd like for the unit to broadcast on each time. The T505 cannot do this. T505 will automatically scan for a frequency and you can select a preferred frequency, but it will generally select whatever it likes. I'd probably call this a draw, although I do prefer Roadster's frequency-selecting ability.

Call quality: I spoke with my mother on the Roadster first and then with the T505. I was driving a convertible with the top up. The car is not noisy but is slightly more so than a hardtop vehicle. The Roadster's microphone was so sensitive that it was picking up much of the background noise and forcing the duplex to me even when I wasn't speaking. That meant that I couldn't hear much of what mom said because Roadster picked up the road noise and shut off mom's conversation. The T505 didn't have this problem. Big advantage T505.

Incoming calls: When an incoming call arrives, both units announce the caller's name and number, if available. Roadster allows you to say "answer" or "ignore". With the T505, you simply tap the telephone icon to answer. Slight advantage Roadster.

Texting: It's my understanding that Roadster can read back texts and allow you to reply to them. I did not test this function, but assuming it works properly, it seems like that would be an attractive feature for someone who texts a lot. Advantage Roadster.

The Winner: Of the two units, I prefer the T505. It's less fussy than Roadster. While Roadster's pairing failed several times, the T505 was always rock solid. Music streaming track advances were much quicker and smoother on the T505. The microphone was way too sensitive on Roadster, although this might not be a problem for those with a very quiet car.

Both are decent units, but I'm using the T505 daily while Roadster sits in its box. Roadster isn't bad, but I can't give it more than 3 stars based on my experiences.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Before getting this I did quite a bit of searching on the web, and couldn't find anything that explains exactly how well this speakerphone works with iPhones. Several other reviews outline its main features, and a few mention that they use it with their iPhones but don't discuss the limitations of that mode, so what follows is intended just for those who hope to use it with an iPhone. (I've got the iPhone 3G, but I can't see any reason it would work differently with the iPhone 3GS or 4).

It's clearly designed for droid phones, and on those phones you can download the MotoSpeak app and have it read texts out loud and even allows you to compose texts hands free. Still, the basic and most essential functions appear to work with any Bluetooth enabled phone, and certainly with my iPhone 3G.

It hooks easily to the sun visor of the car, and the charger plugs into the cigarette lighter. It links easily with the iPhone, once you go into the settings and enable Bluetooth. After it's linked, the Roadster recognizes your phone, and turns itself on automatically, apparently triggered by the sound of an opening or closing car door. Once on, it speaks out loud that it recognizes your phone, and even says the name of the phone it's linked to. It also tells you whether it's fully charged or not.

If you receive a call, it tells you there's an incoming call and if your phone recognizes the caller it tells you who's calling. You can then say either "Answer" or "Ignore" and it will either pick up the call or drop it. You hear the call either through a speaker built in to the Roadster or you can set it up so it transmits directly to your car stereo through an unused FM frequency. The onboard microphone picks up your voice all you have to do is speak at an ordinary level and it works fine. My wife reported that it sounds just like it does when I'm calling her directly through the iPhone.

Pressing the call icon on the Roadster will redial your most recent call. Another feature built in to it is that you're supposed to be able to click on the dial tone button and speak a phone number but when I press that button the Roadster tells me that the feature is unsupported by my phone. It strikes me a bit odd that the Roadster can control my iPhone enough to dial the most recent call, but not to dial a different number, but that's the way it is.

You can also play music from your phone through the Roadster it sounds awful if you try to do it through the speaker on the Roadster, but when you've got it on the FM transmitting mode, and assuming you've got it set on a clear station the music sounds pretty decent, about as good as you'd get it from a decent but not perfect signal on a regular FM station. In my case I hook the iPhone directly to my stereo with a USB cable, so I wouldn't ever bother with this.

So what this is really useful for on my iPhone is answering calls hands free and in my case that's the main thing I wanted it for so it works pretty well for me. If you want to make phone calls a lot while driving, or want to receive and send text with voice commands, you'll need a different kind of phone, with Android 2.2 or higher. Having said that, those features would make this an excellent device for owners of Android phones; the more basic features still make it quite useful for iPhone users like me.

I am really not sure what is up with the bad reviews(1 star). Regardless of the bad reviews, I still purchased the product and to be honest I think it is great. People seem to complain for absolutely no reason. Don't compare a device to another device. This is not a comparison review. The product delivers as advertised.

This is my first motorola product I purchased from amazon.

-Quick delivery +

-Easy pairing. What a breeze for any non techies out there. +

-Speaker phone works great. + Everyone I spoke to so far had no clue I was on speaker phone. Its loud too except if the volume is on full blast it can be slightly distorted. Simple fix(don't put it on full volume)

-FM transmitter works fine. + Here is where I don't get some of the reviews. What do you expect? Dolby Digital, THX certified sound coming out of your car speaker from this device? You don't even get that from your handheld phone. If you find a clear FM channel and play around a bit, it will come in fine. Not 100% clear but what do you expect? Its a FM transmitter people. I think its perfectly fine and once again, nobody said they heard anything strange on the other line.

-Synch multiple devices. + This was really cool. I had two cellphones in my car and the device knew to switch back and forth between the two when I hit a button on either phone. I remember my old BMW which had bluetooth couldn't do this. I had to manually switch back and forth. So annoying while driving. This device did it no problem.

-Not sure about battery life since i've only had for a week but its seems fine. It would have been nice using mini USB charger instead of some strange connector from motorola.

-Haven't tried motospeak(speech to text) yet sorry.

Only Con: The buttons on the device aren't the best. I hit a button and doesn't seem like i'm even hitting it. FM, +, buttons in particular. No big deal. You shouldn't have to hit buttons often anyway. I changed from 4 stars to 5 because this is just being too picky. If I could do 4.5 stars then I would but I can't so 5 stars it is.

If I were you, I would definitely purchase it. Its a sleek little device and not bad for under $80 bucks. Works like a charm. Don't listen to the rest of these people that gave 1 star reviews cause they are used to their old devices or are just whiners by nature. LOL. Works as advertised.

Honest reviews on Motorola Roadster Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging

Just got this a few days ago, but so far I am very impressed by it. Charged it up in the house and it immediately connected to my phone. I leave it on in the car and it immediately connects when I get in--even faster than the "built-in" bluetooth on our other car. The sound is good--people have no problem hearing or understanding me while I'm driving in the car, and I have no problem hearing callers. Love the voice commands--I can just say "answer" and don't have to reach up for the button to answer calls. It also automatically connected to my phone's contact list so it tells me who is calling if they are on the list--otherwise just the phone number--and I can say, "Call Roy" and it does it! Now that's real "hands free". So far the battery seems to last well. I've had it on in the car for 3 days and the battery is still "high" (I never turn it off). I don't use the FM connection, nor do I stream music from my phone through it, so can't comment on those functions. However, I can't imagine that this speaker could reproduce music as well as the car's sterio system. I bought it strictly as a Bluetooth speaker for my cell phone for hands free receiving and placing of calls and it is doing that beautifully!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Roadster is a lightweight unit roughly the size of a cellphone but molded to fit properly on an automobile sun visor. It comes with a car recharger and small instructional booklet. I unpacked mine and turned it on. It immediately "spoke" through the built-in speaker, indicating that its battery level was low and that it needed to be connected via Bluetooth to my cellphone. I have an iPhone 4; I turned that on and selected the Settings app so that I could set up the Bluetooth connection. Following the instructions I'd just heard on the Roadster, I accomplished that within a few seconds. The Roadster then indicated that it was connected to my iPhone, using my iPhone's personal name through the speaker.

The next day, I put the Roadster in my car, plugging it into the lighter socket to recharge the battery. A blue LED on the lighter plug indicates that power is being received and the unit announces that it is being charged. A little while later, I received a phone call. The ring tone that I'd normally hear on my phone came through on the Roadster's speaker and I was quickly able to answer the call. While driving on the highway with some interior noise in the car, the unit had excellent clarity and my caller indicated that he had no trouble understanding the conversation.

While I can send the Roadster's speaker output to the FM radio band instead, I rarely have the radio on and so have not used that function.

I left the car at the airport, leaving the Roadster turned on and unplugging the lighter plug, and taking my iPhone with me. Four days later, returning to the car, as I opened the door I heard the Roadster announce that it had detected my iPhone and was setting up the Bluetooth connection. This required no action on my part. Battery level was announced as being high, so clearly the unit had turned off appropriately during my and my phone's absence. I initiated a call this time and the input/output was automatically directed to the Roadster's mic/speaker setup without any additional action on my part.

As you've read in other reviews, the Roadster has other capabilities, such as streaming music, voice response to certain commands, and so forth. I haven't utilized these capabilities yet, but the strength of this product is in the straightforward and easy setup, the clarity of the speaker and microphone, and the ease and speed with which it links to the Bluetooth connection of my phone each time I return to the car. I've observed no errors or problems in this regard over the first 10 days of use and am looking forward to a long relationship between my phone and the Roadster.

Great especially for the price, it seems to work fine and it's handy to be able to charge your unit in some place other than the car and then use the unit inside a hotel room or house. My only frustration is that the charger does not show when the unit is fully charged, like having its' green light turn off or give me an idea in some instructions how long a full charge will take. However since I am using this for the Magellan 1340 that fault might also lie within the Magellan. I wish the information that the unit cannot be overcharged was listed in an instruction sheet that should be included .

I received a GPS from my employeer for my 30th year. It only had a auto power adapter. I looked on the OEM site for an home power adapter and couldn't believe how much they wanted. Looked on Amazon for a home power adapter and found this for about one-tenth what the OEM wanted for their adapter. The price was right so I thought I'd give it a shot and see if it worked. Sure enough, I can finally recharge my GPS in the house. Great Product.

I tried one of these impacts out because I have the 1/2 inch version (W7150) and compared to the SO CT4410 that I have which is 14.4 V Ni-Cd there wasn't any noticeable difference in torque, I kinda think that if the SO had new batteries I might have a bit more power. I used the 3.0ah battery that my w7150 has and it's not more powerful than the CT4410. If you don't have a cordless 3/8 impact get the IR, better priced same performance, if you have the CT4410 keep it, the W7150 is more powerful hands down than the CT7850 I have both use them everyday. It's hard to know what to buy sometimes just passing on my unbiased experience with these tools.

A little information about me, I work on cars for a living and as a hobby, I've been used to air tools but ever since I bought the IRw7150 I rarely ever turn on my compressor any more, since I already had three large IR batteries buying the irw5130 was a no brainier, though I did think about going with other electric impacts Snap on in particular had more power, and the dewalt had more "options". For me the main reason I bought the ir5130 is the batteries. The day after I got it I tried it out on a corolla, it handled 'most' of the subframe bolts, besides the lug nuts and axle nuts. It's got a little led bulb that I was unaware of until I got it(I did not do my homework on this one). I have yet to measure its potential with a torque wrench but when a rusted subframe bolt could not be taken its big brother w7150 was called into action. Its small and light enough to use hours upon hours without feeling strained( I used the w7150 for many things including batteries, and small screws that hold belly pans up twas a hassle to say the least). As of late I have noticed how much I miss the w5130 since I leave it at work, thinking I may buy another to keep my projects running on at home but have to find the right way of tricking myself into doing so. Anyways I bought mine for 303 and change, off the trucks they will run well over 500, w7150 will run 700 off the trucks. I'll stop rambling now since its 12am and exhausted from work, all I have to say is without a 3/8 portable impact be it IR's snappies, dewalt etc. my line of work would be much more laborious...Fin.

I needed a car charger for my phone and I know they are expensive if you buy it from the carriers, so I saw this one and figured to good to be true because of the price, but when I recieved it, it only worked for one day thats it!!!! Not to mention how sensitive it is when I moved my phone a bit, the charger would show that is was disconnected. Your better off paying more for a better one

The cord is very sensitive. If you move the cord at all the phone disconnects from the charger. You can't talk and charge at the same time.

I bought this hot pot, along with a 4-pack of Melitta Ready, Set Joe kits, for a road trip during which stopping for coffee, tea and hot chocolate was not an option. My executive summary of the product is that it works well (and, for those wondering about product longevity, still works even after multiple uses) and that it can boil water. We're very happy with it.

Read on to find out why I give the product 4 stars instead of 5.

The product description could do a better job of managing customer expectations. While this hot pot will boil water, it does take 35 minutes or so to bring a full 20 ounces of it to a boil. This isn't due to any defect in the product's design. It has everything to do with the fact that a car's 12-volt, direct current electrical system isn't made for high-wattage appliances. My minivan can supply up to 120W per outlet, i.e., up to 10A at 12VDC, which is not very much, and I assume this is fairly standard. In contrast, conventional hot pots draw 3-5 times as much power from household current, which is why they boil water faster.

Other than that, my few gripes about this hot pot are:

1. It comes with a mounting bracket, but no instructions that might give an inkling on how one might use it to attach the hot pot to anything on the inside of your vehicle. We ended up discarding the bracket and placing the hot pot on our center console, which is flat, as well as several other flat surfaces we created. But this requires somebody to watch the hot pot while the vehicle is in motion.

2. The lid and removable drinking cup sit on top of the pot, but don't snap or screw on. So this hot pot is NOT spillproof. See #1 above, and understand that if it tips over while it's in use, somebody might get hurt.

3. The exterior of the pot gets quite hot to the touch during use (although the handle stays nice and cool), so trying to hold it to prevent it from spilling is a bad idea.

4. The inside of the pot quickly builds up scaling from the minerals left behind when water evaporates. There's no way to reach in there with any kind of a brush to clean that out, and the interior surfaces would probably be damaged by such a brush anyway. I recommend filling the pot with white vinegar and soaking it for an hour or so after every trip to keep the scaling under control.

5. Despite what the product description says, don't even think of making soup, hot chocolate or any other prepared food in this hot pot. You will never be able to get the interior clean again if you do. Stick with instant drink and soup mixes, use a mug or bowl and pour the boiling water from the pot into your mug or bowl in order to make these foods.

6. There's no spout, and it's difficult to pour without spilling, so do be careful.

To help put the 20-ounce capacity into perspective:

1 standard mug holds about 10 ounces of liquid.

A typical travel mug holds 12-14 ounces.

A normal size disposable bowl holds 12 ounces.

A large size disposable bowl holds 20 ounces.

A normal size packet of hot chocolate requires 6 ounces of water and gives you about 8 ounces of hot chocolate.

As annoying as these shortcomings may sound, they're minor compared with the comfort and convenience of being able to have real, high-quality coffee (that's what the Ready, Set, Joe kits were for!), tea, cocoa and soup while traveling in places where service stations are few and far between or just nonexistent.

This unit works far better than the Max Burton version. The hardwired plug prevents the unit from shorting out. A cup of water almost boils in about 5 minutes. Would be nice if it were sealable like a thermos, and helpful if the measurements on the side were in cups as well as milliliters. about 250 milliliters to a cup. And like my Max Burton review, Nothing but water in these things. They say soups work in these things but even the protein in milk will burn on the heating elements. ONLY WATER! so instant add water drinks, oatmeal, ramen noodles, mashed potatoes.

I purchased this to use in an RV while boondocking. I have a solar system installed in my RV, and use a 12 volt system, so I needed something to boil water or to at least get water hot enough to make coffee. Well, this hot pot does the job! It definitely boils water with no problem. It takes a while if you have it to the full mark, but that's not a problem for me, as I'm just happy that it works and I don't have to use my propane stove and can now s ave money by using this 12 volt hot pot on power generated by the sun. Works perfect!

UPDATE: When it worked it worked great, but for some reason it stopped heating, but the light still works. I have since requested a replacement, and will return the defective one. I will update in a few months to let you guys know if the new one is still working.

UPDATE #2: I received the replacement unit, and it works fine, but I truly believe the first one stopped working because I left it on after it reached the boiling point, which I guess you need to unplug it at that point. I changed my 5 star rating to a 3 star because you have to really watch this pot or set a timer to make certain it doesn't overheat.

UPDATE #3: Its been 9 months since I've had the replacement unit, and it is still holding on. I heat it up until the boiling point and turn it off. I use the hot water for instant coffee, French press and the mellita drip cones, and all versions do fine with this Hot Pot. I love the fact I don't have to use my propane to heat up water over a stove. This pot has worked wonders for me, but as I had mentioned before.....just don't leave it plugged up too long and it will work wonders for you too. By the way, I noticed on the side of the hot pot is an "imprinted" messages that actually says to UNPLUG the cord as soon as it starts to boil, so that probably explains the failure of the first one. I will up my rating of this product to 4 stars, but now I just use a timer to keep track of the progress. This could be a 5 star product if it had an internal temperature control and wouldn't overheat.

Honest reviews on Roadpro 12V Hot Pot, 20 oz.

In preparation for a weeklong roadtrip with my son, I ordered this hotpot, planning to be able to warm up our coffee as we drove. Well there is a light that comes on when you plug in the pot, to let you know you have power, however the unit we received was defective. After about an hour of waiting for heat, I decided to see if it could be fixed. It is very easy to take apart. The leads for the heating element were loosely wrapped around the connectors, but not soldered. Having no tools with me in the car, I tried to reconnect the wires by hand, but could not get a good enough contact for it to heat. Final result: Cold coffee and 12v hotpot put in trash.

I ordered the Hot Pot and was worried it would only warm up. But it takes actually 5 minutes and the water is warm and within 10 minutes the water is cooking. I use the Hot Pot to make milkbottles for my baby while we are going by car. No asking for hot water anymore. It's working really great. The bottle is nicely isolated to not burn your hands and a small light is on while cooking so you are always aware it's plugged in. We use it for day trips and camping.

Seventy dollars (plus shipping) and it lasted almost exactly one year. Its idiot lights indicate it thinks it's "not properly connected" no matter what it's properly connected to. To add insult to injury, the manufacturer wants another $16 to fix it under warranty, plus what I would have to pay to ship it to them... Forget this item, Battery Tender International is not a durable product.

The first one I bought I thought maybe it was just a dud after it just up and died after only a few months of intermittent use. The second one lasted a little bit longer, but sure enough it's dead to the world now. I read a lot of good reviews so that was why I tried the second one. Well, that was the last one of these I will ever try.

I normally don't write reviews but after reading one at this site flaming the product, I decided to write one. I've had this item for three years and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. Does a great job keeping the battery on my ST1300 ready to go, even through the winter. I like the quick disconnect and it's waterproof cover. I've got it wired into to the battery terminals and tie wrapped at convient spot on the side of the bike. No fuss to plug in for charging or disconnect to go.

It works great with my iPad2 and my iPhone 5 and possibly to charge both of them same time. Nice look and compact size. Good product.

Bought this to replace my Duracell USB charger. Both were dual port, however this one only protrudes slightly from the power port or cigarette lighter in my truck. (My old one and many others I see stick out 2" or more.) There's a bright red power light (I could have used a little less brightness here) to show that it's not only plugged in but that it's receiving the 12V power to charge your device. That's important in my truck because the port isn't the tightest and many plugs tend to slip out just a bit and then are not charging. Overall, I would buy this product again if I needed another charger.

I thought it would charge at a normal rate, but it says slow charging. Even if I put it on the higher amp it still slow charges my LG Spectrum. Kinda disapointed in my purchase.

JUST WORKS AS A PHONE MIC AND PLAY BACK DO NOT MAKE THE LINK FOR MEDIA MUSIC IN SMART PHONES

Honest reviews on Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree Car Kit

I bought this on clearance for $12 at wally world a few days ago. I will tell you right now. It is worth it. The only issue i have is that you A. wind up with a ridiculous mess of cables and B. Must switch from radio to AUX Manually. A little cable management solves problem A and I don't listen to much radio these days anyway. I did have to modify this to get it to work to my liking. The casing around the mic is kind of fragile. I noticed the casing nearly splitting away from the mike with every button press to answer calls. I used a tube of super glue to reinforce the plastic tabs holding the housing together. The glue for the mounting base is also too weak. I wound up having to use the screws provided to permanently afix the mic to an optimal audio zone. The audio switching splitter is the key to this device. Without it this thing does not work. Make sure you attach the correct plug to the correct slot in the splitter. RTFM!!! I honestly couldn't be happier with this setup. It saved me from having to buy a new stereo in a junky old car. The price amazon is selling this for currently is kind of off. You could buy a bluetooth enabled stereo for $80 these days. If you do find a good deal like I did though you won't be disappointed. The device works as advertised!

Pros:

Compact design easy to have the unit blend in

Cables included

Auto input switching Even when listening to music with your phone plugged in, when a call comes through the unit switches to the microphone with the y-splitter cable included

Cons:

Volume has to be turned WAY up to hear people on the other end. Not that big of a deal until the call ends and you switch back to music and blow your ear drums out.

The connection is weak between the mounting bracket and the microphone unit. The microphone plugs into the bracket with a 3.5mm jack but is a little loose. When a call comes in, you have to jiggle the microphone to get it in the right spot otherwise you get no sound and the other person can't hear you. Because there is a y-splitter, you also have to jiggle the microphone to the right spot to hear your music through the aux in.

All in all it's not too bad. You get what you pay for, I guess
