Just got mine and was a bit skeptical after seeing other poor reviews, but I needed it and knew I could return it if it didn't work, but so far works like a charm.
Like one reviewer mentioned it did get a little hot when it is charging the phone, but nothing unreasonable.
I would like it even more if it offered better overall protection for the phone.I bought this as a way to boost my battery life but when I plugged the phone into it, after about 5 minutes, the phone got very hot, I was unable to get a signal through my phone connection or Wi-Fi. I wasn't worried about the bulkiness, as my OtterBox makes the phone bulky also. Just expected it to do its job without practically melting my phone.

I am extremely impressed with the way they have designed this to fit into a minimum space and completely enclose the connectors for their protection.
However, they are not so clever with their choice of dimensions for the USB connector. The connector is much thicker than other similar connectors I have and it is an extremely tight fit in any standard USB receptacle. I measured several connectors of this type (without metal shells) and they are all 2 mm ±0.1 mm thick. The flipSYNK is 2.8 mm thick; nearly 50% thicker!
Since I am otherwise so impressed with the design, I decided to call Scosche customer service to see if this was some kind of manufacturing anomaly. But the rep said it was deliberately thicker for a tight fit so it wouldn't have any danger of falling out. Frankly my greater concern is that it would damage the connector in my $2000 laptop. It is so hard to push into a USB receptacle that I really don't want to risk trying. I have tested the snugness of all my 2 mm thick connectors and don't feel there is any risk of any of them coming loose with normal handling.
Since I do love the design other than this critical flaw, I have decided to file (or sand) down the connector to 2 mm and keep it instead of getting a refund. But I feel the extra thickness is such a serious flaw that I only gave it 2 stars; which I will happily raise to the full 5 if they ever fix this error.
I will add a photo to illustrate the issue.
Some of the negative reviews I mentioned pertained to the thickness of the USB connector and some people's issues trying to make it fit in their computers' USB ports. While it's definitely a tight fit, I have to say I had exactly zero problem getting it in the USB port of my MacBook Pro. It's a tight fit to keep it from accidentally being pulled out, but it's not so tight that you have to worry about damaging the USB port. That's just silliness or paranoia or both.
Long story short, it's a simple device that does exactly one thing and does it well. I'm constantly losing sync cables or leaving them at home. Either way, it seems I never have one when I truly need it. But, now, I have one on me at all times in a convenient little package. What more could you ask for?
The only caveat is that it is a little hard to get on or off a standard key ring. It basically suffers from the same difficulties with key rings that most car key fobs do. I skirted the issue by putting it on a smaller thinner key ring that then went on to my larger key ring with the rest of my keys -again, basically the same thing they do with car key fobs.
The convenience factor of the FlipSYNC more than makes up for this one small thing, though, so if you're on the fence, do what I did and take the chance. It's not that much of a risk (got mine for $12), and I think you'll be glad you did.
On another note, it also frequently enters a "Cannot charge with this accessory" mode on my iPhone. I know this is an Apple-approved accessory as it bears the "Made for" and "Works with" logos on the box, so I might need to return it, or maybe its due to the fact that I'm not inserting it fully, risking that the inner "reed" of my USB port would be bent or damaged.
So far, however, I have used the device for successful sync (and some charging) of my iPhone 3GS, and I can still use those ports for other USB devices without issue, but I'm worried about what long-term issues could arise if I continue to shove and jam this thing into my expensive laptop (I'm sure people with less expensive laptops would be just as worried, its not JUST a Mac thing.)
This product fails in a number of ways (in reverse order of importance):
1st, the plastic centerpiece of the cable is meant to be a protective cover for the plugs on the ends of the cord. However, the cord itself is too short to insert both plugs into the protective cover at the same time. So you have to choose which end to protect when storing the cable -one or the other but not both.
2nd, as other reviewers have noted, the fit between the USB plug and the port is extremely tight and you have to use substantial force to jam the plug into the USB port on the computer. Although I was able to get it in, the fact that you have to use so much force did not inspire confidence and that alone made me leery of using the cable.
3rd, having jammed the plug into the USB port and then connected my phone, the laptop recognized the phone and the phone indicated that it had been plugged in but the phone did not charge and syncing did not work. I tried plugging and unplugging the phone several times but kept getting the same result.
4th, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, although jamming the plug into the port did not seem to physically break the USB port (and I say it did not "seem to" because I am still wondering if it might have caused some latent issue that is yet to arise), my computer did nonetheless react in a very disturbing way. Basically, a short time after plugging the phone in, I lost all of the icons on my menu bar and the time and date was reset to something else. Then, a few seconds later, the screen on my laptop went beserk displaying a static like collection of colored lines and nothing else. I immediately unplugged the cable (again, with some force) and although the screen went back to normal, much to my dismay, the problem with the menu bar persisted. I eventually had to reboot to restore the settings back to normal. Feeling a bit daring, and wanting to make sure that it was not something other than the cable causing these problems, I attempted once again to connect my phone to the laptop with the cable, only to get the same result again. That was enough adventure for me and I decided at that point the cable was going back.
The biggest complaint that I have though, is that if you have a Macbook Pro, (and others have mentioned this as well) the USB plug feels like it is glued into the socket. It fits entirely too tight, to the point that I have to pick up my computer and pry it out with my other hand. Beware of thisit is really annoying, but I'm more concerned about what a $13.00 piece of hardware will do to a $1300.00 machine. Not such a small gripe, considering its one of the only options out there for a shorter cable.
Overall though, I like it. Once they fix the USB port size issue, it's a great product, but again, I'm not sure how long this thing can last.

CAVEAT: IF YOU HAVE A MACBOOK PRO...
Don't buy this. It has rendered one USB port useless because nothing will stay plugged in. Because of this, I am pretty disappointed in this product. This has led to faulty syncing with my iPad, and eventually the iPad had to be restored because of some sort of connection error. My computer no longer recognized the iPad from this port using this device, therefore it is a faulty piece of plastic that is overall pretty useless. Stick with the cables, or use something made by Griffin. This thing is a piece of junk.

So, I read a lot of mixed reviews about the FlipSYNC, but I'm extremely glad that I didn't let the negative reviews dissuade me from buying this. The concept is pretty simple. It's a Apple device charge cable in compact keychain-sized package. It's a brilliantly simple idea and well-executed in my opinion. Some of the negative reviews I mentioned pertained to the thickness of the USB connector and some people's issues trying to make it fit in their computers' USB ports. I read reviews about the "USB chip insert" issues with this when I bought it, but I thought it was people being finicky. It is not. The "USB" end of this device is WAY too thick for practical use every day. I have a mid-2009 MacBook pro, which cost over 1500 new, and I fear every time I use this device that I'm going to snap one of my (only two) USB ports from the inside because this thing literally JAMS itself in.On another note, it also frequently enters a "Cannot charge with this accessory" mode on my iPhone. Honest reviews on Scosche IPUSBMW flipSYNC Keychain USB Charge and Sync Cable, White
I purchased the flipSYNK cable with high hopes that it would fulfill my need for a compact and unobtrusive cable to use with my MacBook Pro. Also, despite the fact that I had read the reviews discussing the strange fit between the plug and the USB port, I decided to purchase it anyway figuring that not everyone seemed to find that to be an issue and that I could just see for myself if it was a problem. Unfortunately, I came to regret my decision. This product fails in a number of ways (in reverse order of importance):

This thing is great, except I can't comment on how long it survives because I only got it last week. It really is more of an emergency cable, and while it is built like a keychain, if you have more than a few keys on a ring, this will make your key bundle annoyingly bulky. I'd consider buying this, knowing that you are probably just going to put it in your bag or carry it around with you independent of your keys. The biggest complaint that I have though, is that if you have a Macbook Pro, (and others have mentioned this as well) the USB plug feels like it is glued into the socket. Only way this unit would be worth anything is as a last resort. Even in full sun it rarely generates more then 120 mA and 80 mA is probably the average and the slightest wisp of cloud drops it to near zero. With todays 2000-2750 mAH rechargeable batteries this unit would take 125 hours to charge 4 2500 mAH batteries. Assuming 6 hours of "full" sun a day at 80 mA it would take almost 21 days to charge those four batteries. Real world would be more likely a month.
Like I said, maybe if it was all I had, but there are better places to spend your money.
As someone has already mentioned, this unit doesn't provide a lot of power. You're really looking at weeks to completely charge a set of batteries and that's if you have a place that gets sun most of the day. Having it inside a window causes a pretty significant drop in amps, but leaving it outside for weeks isn't a great alternative either. Obviously partial charges and top ups may work for some people, but for most this is just not efficient enough.
But another big problem with this unit is the batteries are in a closed plastic case in the sun. Heat degrades rechargable batteries and I doubt any manufacturer would recommend it for such an extended period as this solar charger requires. I don't feel comfortable with how hot they get as it probably shortens the battery lifespan. There's a platicky smell when it heats up. There really should be an air gap and a more open case that allows excess heat to be carried away.
With two big flaws, I think people should apply their money toward a better charger, even if more expensive.

Reviews of EKLIPES Motorcycle, ATV, Jet Ski & Snowmobile Cell Phone and GPS
Received the EKLIPES motorcycle GPS adapter. Mounted it on my bike. Tried to use the waterproof cover attached to the adapter and found it was TOO BIG to fit in the adapter... How in blazes do they sell something like that? Had to use my dremel to grind the cover down to size to fit. The only word that comes to mind is "incompetance". How does something like that get by product developemnent and product testing? Oh I know, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY!
Needless to say, I don't recommend this product... unless you've got your dremel handy.
This can be found for very cheap in brick and mortar stores (I got mine for $4)
It comes with an eyelet on both connectors (some cheap ones only have it on the ground)
The accessory outlet is fully enclosed so it is theoretically waterproof
The outlet is removable thanks to the quick attach cables
The bad:
The outlet is very loose. It's easy to pull any powered devices far enough out to lose connection. This is bad on anything that vibrates (say, motorcycles, ATVs, jet skis, and snowmobiles).
The fuse cover basically falls off if you look at it funny. You'll need to tape it on.
The waterproof cap is over-sized and will not fit unless you cut the rubber.
In the end I would not recommend this product. RadioShack sells a much better EnerCell outlet for a few dollars more than I bought this one for (and a lot less than what it is selling for on Amazon).
Avoid this at all costs. You'll just be wasting your time if you're looking to add a power outlet to your motorcycle.
Needless to say, I don't recommend this product... unless you've got your dremel handy.

This adapter is perfect for my cell-phone recharge wire. I use my Nokia E71X AT&T Navigator GPS when I ride cross country. Very convenient is the adapter's end fixture that plugs into my Battery Buddy recharge wire, which I keep attached to my bike's battery. The only complaint I have is the internal wiring in the molded rubber plug fixture has a loose connection and the connection to the battery is intermittently broken with engine and road vibration. I haven't tried replacing it on warranty as I'm always using the adapter.Honest reviews on EKLIPES Motorcycle, ATV, Jet Ski & Snowmobile Cell Phone and GPS
We were very excited to have a phone charger on our motorcycle trip, but found that this outlet on this device will not securely hold a phone charger plug in place to receive a connection if there is any movement at all. I literally had to hold the charger into the adaptor with my hand for an hour while riding on the back of a motorcycle in order to keep our GPS charged. This was pretty ridiculous and I will not recommend this product to anyone.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for EKLIPES Motorcycle, ATV, Jet Ski & Snowmobile Cell Phone and GPS
The package includes a harness to connect to the battery, and a cigarette lighter adapter to connect you accessories. Comparing the harness with the ones provided with other products (i.e., Deltran battery tender) the Eklipes is of a much inferior quality and it looks cheaper, too. Eyelet connectors are not very good, and the fuse holder does not have a secure cap (it tends to fall). In addition, the workmanship on the connectors could be improved. In regards to the adapter, it comes with a cap bigger than the adapter, so I ended up cutting it out and not using it. The cigarette adapter is usable but not the best out there, and the harness could be used for an application where there is no much vibration (I won't use it in a motorcycle), and where does not need to have a good seal for the fuse (I won't use it in a boat). For a few extra bucks you could get something of a much better quality.Saturday, August 9, 2014
Review of Battery Tender 800 Waterproof 12V Battery Charger
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $52.95
Sale Price: $33.28

Deltran Battery Tender 12-Volt 800 milliamp Waterproof Battery Charger
The Battery Tender Waterproof Tender operates in essentially 3 stages. It first initiates an absorption charge that attempts to charge your battery to 14.5 VDC at up to 0.8A (or 800mA). This bit of information was not readily advertised, so I was concerned when I heard my battery making gurgling noises while the LED was "amber" for the past 8 hours. This battery was only 2 years old with less than 5000 miles and had been maintained since day 1, so I was sure it wasn't a problem with the battery. It turns out that it was nothing to be concerned about since this charger was designed to be used for long-term storage of batteries.
My previous charger, a Black & Decker / Vector 2A "smart" automatic maintainer tried to keep my battery voltage at 14.75 VDC at 2A for over 24 hours. Needless to say, I was concerned when I saw this happening with a brand new Battery Tender. I dug around on their website and discovered a PDF that indicated the Tender would try to reach 14.5 VDC for the absorption phase, at which point it would switch to a trickling charge and finally the maintenance charge. I logged all of the readings and confirmed that once the battery reached 14.4-14.5 VDC, it would start to trickle down finally remaining at about 13.12-13.22 VDC @ 20-100 mA. A modern car's parasitic draw is about 10-50 mA, so the maintenance charge is to compensate for the parasitic draw and for self-discharging of the battery. I discovered the Tender does a much better job at a maintenance charge because I have yet to see the Tender go into the Amber-LED mode, whereas my Vector/B&D occasionally switches back and forth even on a fully charged battery. I logged some data from the Vector/B&D and discovered that once the LED is green, it provides NO current to the battery. In essence, the Vector/B&D just shuts off once it reaches 14.5 VDC which is not as useful as providing an actual maintenance charge. The Battery Tender wins. Quite a few people have commented that their Sears "smart/automatic" maintainer and other brands constantly switch between the Green and Amber modes. I suspect those chargers are doing the same thing as the Vector/B&D. They just shut off when the battery is "charged", which is not very good for the battery. It needs to hold a maintenance charge to prevent sulfation.
The Tender Waterproof is fully encapsulated with a thermally conductive potting material. This makes the unit quite heavy for such a small device. It uses a quick-disconnect 2-terminal fitting that is commonly used for battery chargers/maintainers. It comes with ring terminals or large battery clamps all fused with a 7.5A ATC fuse. I made my own wiring harness with smaller alligator clips since I don't have room under the hood for large clamps, and I do not want to permanently install a set of ring terminals that can short out or cause other problems in the long-run.
Pros: Battery Tender has an excellent reputation for making reliable chargers. The Waterproof unit is quite durable and is insulated from shock, water, corrosion, extreme temperatures and other environmental variables.
Cons: At 800mA max current capacity, this charger will work rather slowly for 50Ah or larger capacity batteries, so expect 10-12 hours upon hooking it up to a battery before the LED turns green. The benefit of this is that it prevents boiling the battery or generating a lot of heat due to excessive current.
Overall: If you're using the charger in an environment subject to cold or hot temperature swings with plenty of moisture, such as in a detached garage for your motorcycle, boat, stored vehicle, or even a daily driver, I highly recommend the Waterproof unit over the Tender Jr or Tender Plus.
UPDATE:
I decided to purchase an additional Battery Tender Waterproof because I needed another charger for my daily driver and because I experienced no problems with the first unit.
The construction seems even hardier than I anticipated it seems very rugged. It has rained and snowed on it already with no issues. My biggest pet peeve is dead batteries, and battery tenders have worked great for me! My Harley battery is 5 years old and still functions like new.
I highly recommend you pick one up if you have a battery that sits idle for more than a few days at a time.
The package includes high quality adapter cables, including both traditional claw-style clips (useful for charging/maintaining a stand alone battery) and o-rings to screw onto a battery for direct hookup while still installed in a vehicle. This latter option makes it supremely useful for maintaining a motorcycle over the winter, even outdoors.
Deltran's "Battery Tender" brand series of trickle chargers are excellent quality. The Waterproof model maintains the high standard.

I have been using battery tenders for a while now, but needed one that could be placed on outside vehicles without worrying about precipitation. This one was perfect. It's a simple little device if you can plug a cord in and connect like colored clips it's all you need.

The Amazon title says this is an 800 Amp charger (which is a bit ludicrous -most houses are only set to handle 60-150 amps). This device is actually an 800 milliamp charger, or 0.8 amps. This places it as comparable to the 0.75 amp Deltran Battery Tender Junior.
Honest reviews on Battery Tender 800 Waterproof 12V Battery Charger
ur 2000 Mercedes Benz C230 developed an electrical current drain that resulted in a dead battery ir the car sat for two or three days between uses. My choices were to spend several hundred dollars casing the short in the front instrument panel or purchasing a $32 automatic battery tender. The battery tender has worked well. We have had no "dead battery" instances since we began using the device. The device was as described on the amazon.com web site and shipped within one day if placing the order. Needless-to-say we are very happy campers.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Battery Tender 800 Waterproof 12V Battery Charger
I have three of these. In the northern Ohio winters where temps can sometime go down to single degrees at night, I know the truck will start in the morning. I keep one on the generator and tractor for battery maintenance during storage. They work perfectly.Tuesday, July 29, 2014

There are lots of FM transmitters on the market, and many of them do a nice job. Most also run down the battery on your smart phone while you play your music, whether streaming music or playing songs stored on your device. But the GoMadic FM transmitter not only plays any mobile device with a headphone jack through your car's high-quality stereo system, but it also CHARGES your phone while you play music. Best of all, you can attach any GoMadic phone plug to charge or listen to music through ANY mobile device on the market. If you change phones, you just change plugs on the GoMadic!
Before I got this cool GoMadic device, I had to use two charge outlets in my vehicle... one to charge my smart phone and one to run an FM transmitter so I could listen to my own music on the road. Now, I plug this device into one lighter outlet in my car, and it does both. Playing my music doesn't run down the battery on my smart phone, and the sound quality through my SUV's stereo system is amazing.
I am a music collector and have over 2,000 songs on my RAZR Maxx HD. The sound through the stereo system of my SUV is simply amazing. But, instead of the most recent top 40 garbage, I can listen to my Blues, Jazz, vintage Country, Rockabilly, Doo-Wop, 50's Gospel, or whatever I am in the mood for. It all sounds awesome through the GoMadic.
Highly recommended for anyone with a mobile device of any kind that streams or plays stored music. Charge your device and play it through your car's FM stereo system at the same time, through one power outlet in your car. And when you change devices, if it needs a different style charger, just buy a new plug rather than throwing the device out!One of the few products that I bought that I haven't broken yet, charges the phone well enough and the radio station / calls you make transmit very well to vehicles with out good radio reception. I only gave it four stars because the interchangeable phone charger slipped out and got lost, kinda disappointing. But still, if your smart enough to tape it together then you're golden.

eForCity 2X WALL + CAR USB CHARGER Compatible with ARCHOS 404 504 Reviews
I purchased the chargers so I could have my phone readily available. I seen these and thought wow for this price I cant go wrong.
I was way way wrong! Not only did both chargers flake out after less than 2 weeks of use, but the car charger almost caused a fire in my car! I dont know if the random weirdness my phone now has about it was cause from the charger shorting out, but I can tell you that these products are dangerous and should be avoided!
The charger got so hot that it was almost to hot to pull out of the outlet, and caused my truck to smell of burnt plastic and electronics for nearly a week!
It was on the brink of catching on fire!
Please stay away and spend a little extra money on a name brand. I did after this happened and have not had an issue since. So to me that ruled out my vehicle outlet as the culprit.
And please please dont buy this for your teenagers cause Lord only knows what would have happened if this had happened to them.

This is a great charger that is quite versitle in terms of devices that can plug into it. First I should warn you that you should check your device and make sure it is rated for the appropriate output voltage and amperage. However, after doing so I found that in addition to my Archos 5 internet tablet, I could also charge my Garmin 720 NUVI, 2 different cell phones, and 2 different bluetooth headsets with the appropriate USB cable (USB micro or mini). I highly recommend this as a replacement for any lost chargers for many USB mini/micro compatible devices.Honest reviews on eForCity 2X WALL + CAR USB CHARGER Compatible with ARCHOS 404 504

This charger has multiple functions and charges or maintains my Ballistic battery. The battery itself needs little attention as it holds it's charge for at least a year in my motorcycle. The cable to balance the series' in the battery, and the company support (which is good)are worth something. Ultimately, it allowed me to discover a dead cell in my battery, which ballistic took care of. Review of Garmin DC20 DC30 DC40 Astro Battery 2400mAh ***12 month warranty***
This battery was a perfect replacement for the tracking collar for our deer. It turned out that the battery had not failed. There was a problem with the transmitter which was repaired under warranty. So we have an extra battery which is probably a good idea since he wears the collar everyday.
