I don't normally write reviews, but I didn't see any for this product and took a chance on buying it, and it worked out well, so I thought I should write one.

I have an iPhone that I use to play music via the aux-in port in my Prius and there was a lot of noise in the signal, especially if the headlights were on, and this was particularly problematic if I turned the volume way up for soft music (e.g. Renaissance lute music).

With this noise filter, that problem is gone.

I have a car stereo with an AUX-in port. Unfortunately, when my car is running and I have my iPod plugged in, I get a very obnoxious electronic whine (more noticeable during the summer at night, with the headlights on and the ac running...the more electrics running in your car, the louder the whine). It would get so bad that it would make listening to music more of an annoyance than anything.

Searching on Amazon for an auxiliary charger for my iTouch, I came across this in a "Buy these two devices together and save" item. And I am happy to say it completely eliminated all electronic whine/feedback. It could not be simpler to install...plug one end of the isolator into your AUX port, and the other end into your iPod/mp3 player/auxiliary accessory(Griffin AutoPilot FM Transmitter for iPod, Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod; iPhone 1G, 3G, etc.) It works like a charm. The way it works is its circuitry isolates any ground loops in your stereo (depending upon how it was installed, you may have a bad ground and that can cause an annoying whine).

HIGHLY recommended for anyone who wants to listen to their music and charge at the same time.

I had horrible transmission noise on my MazdaSpeed 3 when charging my iPhone 3GS and plugged in to the auxiliary port. I tried my phone in two other cars and couldn't reproduce the problem, it was definitely my car. I have an old school 15gig iPod which is great in the car because the buttons aren't on the click wheel. Well, the battery doesn't last anymore and everytime I played it with the battery adapter on, you could hear the whine from the alternator on acceleration. After plugging through the PAC, silence. If you already have a Roady2 , and you're looking for a portable solution, you will like this product. It does everything it says it does. It is very heavy, though, and I wouldn't recommend it for jogging. I use it at my gym when I'm on the treadmill, and for this purpose it works well. If you haven't purchased a Roady2, you might as well get the Myfi. It's a lot more expensive but when you add up the cost of the Roady2 and the Delphi Personal Audio System, you'll end up spending the same amount of money. Overall, it's good but not great.

Just a quick warning, this thing is heavy. The battery pack is a lot of weight. Go to the store and pick it up in your hands to feel for sure. For the price of this and the Roady2, you might as well get the portable unit to begin with.

This system has several things wrong with it. For starters is the price, way to high for such a low quality product. The Roady's signal is constintly being lost, even when staying almost completly still. For a product made for people on the move, this product simply doesn't work. On top of the bad reception,the system is frail. Mine broke the first day, while trying to remove the Roady from it.

also, while the roady is plugged into it, you can not use the Roadies FM transmitter, to play your music where you take it.

I do not recomend this product for anyone, unless you thibnk you can get a good deal on it. I thought I was at the time, but wasted my money, perhaps I can save someone else's money.

First off, I am going to be a little more forgiving of this item because I was able to purchase it for $39.00 on closeout.

For the price I paid this unit is outstanding. I have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady in and out that others have experienced. It seems to be a fairly easy process of pressing in on two latches and pulling the case apart. I was very concerned after reading the reviews here that this would be an issue. But I have been able to get the Roady out each and ever time in a few seconds. The Roady does fit snuggly inside the case but I would rather have this than the Roady falling out in my hand.

The case could be made of a little more sturdy plastic, but this would also add to the weight. The case and Roady together weigh about as much a portable CD player. Most of the weight can be attributed to the battery.

As far as reception goes I have been able to get a strong signal short of standing in a six foot hole. I purchased the portable player because I have several hundred acres of land to attend to, and it helps me keep my sanity. I have not ran into an area where the signal drops out on me as of this time.

The headset is not exactly top of the line....but what are you to do? You can't exactly buy a set of Bose headphones and tear the antenna out of included set. So....your stuck for the moment with what comes with in the package.

For the price I paid I can't complain other than the headset. I personaly have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady out of the case to put in my car. The reception is great I can get a signal when my friend with a XM2Go can't.

Its a nice setup but not for $120.00 or so dollars...if it can be found for under 50.00 get it.....you wont regret it.

The charger works with the Palm Treo Centro just as described. However, the only connection this charger has with PALM is a little sticker attached to the cord that says Palm (with the palm registered trademark logo). This is certainly not the car charger that you would get from Palm or the retail cell phone shops. Again, it's cheap and it works, however the authenticity of OEM would be questionable.

I ordered this because I got a new cell phone and needed a car charger, but didn't want the curly cord taking up a bunch of space. This retractable one works perfectly! The only part that is weird is when I plug it in my phone asks what kind of memory I want to use? Almost like my phone thinks it is being plugged into a computer. It still charges just fine, so I don't really care about that.

I wanted to add something else now that I've had the charger for a few months. The cords seems to be just a tad bit short if you plan on making a call in your car while the phone is plugged in. I know this depends on the car and the height of the person using it, but for me, I have to lean over quite a bit to even make a call. It is a minor detail but can be awkward.

Discount Motorola T5950 5-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radios (Pair)

I have used this product for a few years, and it generally performs well and offers some really fine features. But...Beware of the manufacturer's "official knockoff" sold at a lower price in many "big boxes"...and even here at Amazon. A copy of another review I filed here follows...

As an outdoor enthusiast, I placed the "regarded" Motorola T5950R FRS/GMRS 2-way radio pair on my Christmas list. While attempting to acquire this set in a chain sporting goods store, my father was "steered" to the alleged Motorola model T6500 by a store associate who said that model was a new replacement for the T5950. After being informed of this, I decided to do some web research, and interestingly found that the model T6500 was NOT to be found ANYWHERE on the Motorola web site.

Seems the T6500 is a "licensed knockoff" of the T5950 by Motorola's mainland-Chinese electronics manufacturer. The units look the same except for the face plate color (Yellow=T5950 / Khaki=T6500). The features are identical--as is the packaging. Only a small indication on the rear of the T6500 package discloses that the product is "Manufactured and sold by Giant International, Ltd., official licensee for this product." Furthermore, it is warranted and supported EXCLUSIVELY by the MANUFACTURER-NOT MOTOROLA!

Now...To the "differences"...and there ARE some-ALL performance related. While Motorola may license their name, logo, and design to an offshore OEM producer, you can be sure that they reserve their customer support AND several technical enhancements for models THEY specifically brand and market.

A side by side comparison between the genuine Motorola T5950 and its T6500 "imposter" reveals several performance issues. The T5950 has relatively good coverage (considering the communications class); audio loudness and clarity that are sufficient for reliable reception on a congested and "spotty" broadcast service; and NOAA Weather Station reception that is fairly good...even 30-50 miles from the desired station. I did not compare the T6500s transmit-receive coverage, but its audio quality and "punch" are WELL BELOW that of the "genuine" T5950. Furthermore, Weather Band reception on my T6500 sample (both units in the set) was very nearly NONFUNCTIONAL.

In conclusion: It is well worth spending a few bucks more for the "Real McCoy" genuine Motorola T5950 (I actually spent $4 LESS with a rebate here on Amazon). You'll appreciate the "domestic support", improved transmit audio quality, and a weather receiver that actually may save your life when you're out on the water!

These are terrific little units with awesome range.

I keep a pair in every car I have for trips to Costco, the Mall, Seaworld or wherever.

My only complaint if the NiCAD batteries. They do get a memory if you don't use them a lot. NiMHD would have been a better choice considering the way you'll likely use them. The batteries will lose their charge whe sitting unused so they are less available for last minute emergency use.

Everyone please understands that getting the FCC license for any GMRS radio does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to increase the range of the radio. The license is a piece of paper so the FCC may track who is using GMRS frequencies, nothing more. They used to do the same for CB users in the 70's. They do not track FRS freqs because of the low output power of FRS radios. Range is affected by output power of the radio but mostly by obstacles between you and the other radio. Trees, walls, buildings, hills, etc. reduce the range considerably. A true test of range is on open water or unobstructed Line-Of-Sight from one hilltop to another. (Not everyone has a boat) Buy three different sets from different brands and try them near a lake to test, return the ones that are not to your liking.

I took a pair of T5950 on a 2 week trip. Using 2300mah nimh batteries, they last more than a day. The sound quality was very good. Remember, don't crank the speaker volume to max, this actually distorts the sound. When in the city, I was able to use the T5950s about 10 street blocks apart. The sounds was very clear.

By the way, I saw a comment on Motorola "imposter" and "licensed knockoff" by HippoRadio here. HippoRadio clams T5950 is a true Moto product, while other models like T6500 are "a licensed knockoff of the T5950 by Motorola's mainland-Chinese electronics manufacturer". He came to this conclusion because "a small indication on the rear of the T6500 package discloses that the product is Manufactured and sold by Giant International, Ltd., official licensee for this product."

Since I was looking to buy more Moto's radios, just to verify, I emailed Motorola asking which models are made by Moto themselves.

Here is the official reply from Motorola's customer service Marisol R on Jun 03, 2005. It seems, in fact, ALL talkabout radios are made by Giant International based in China. Any quality difference between models are just due to different designs, quality control, etc., and not due to different manufacturers.

Very nice looking pair of radios, but distance was not impressive. Walking in a residential area which was relatively flat, the radios maybe had distance of about 3/4 mile before transmission began breaking up. That was disappointing considering the advertising suggested "upto 5 miles." Maybe they tested them in the middle of the Arizona desert or something. I'm probably going to return these and try to get something with greater range.

This is a pretty simple but effective little product. It does exactly as it's supposed to do, telling you if your batter is good, low, or needs to be replaced. It works with all kinds of regular household batteries. I can already tell Im going to save money because many times when my smoke alarm is beeping or I think other things aren't working correctly because of the battery being dead so I throw it out and replace it, with this battery tester Ive already saved myself from throwing out several batteries just by testing them first to see if the battery is the issue and it turns out it isn't. For the price this is a household must have and I am very happy I purchased this.

I used it on all of our batteries and found out several devices that didn't work, that we thought were broke, were really just the victims of dead batteries. Easy to test and read. No doubt about it, this is an expensive radio. For the $140 it costs for one of them, you can 4 consumer cheapo radios. But you get what you pay for. This is a pro quality radio. Give it the knuckle rap test. This thing is solid like a brick. It doesn't feel like a cheap TV remote control like most consumer family radios. When I first got it, I was disappointed because it was so small. It's about the size of all the other family radios. I thought great, I just paid a fortune for another dinky family radio. Don't be fooled though. This is best made, well built radio of it's size you will find short of $500+ professional gear. It's speaker gets way louder than you'd expect for its size. I also use it with an external speaker mic and it works superbly. The range and signal quality are hard to beat. The only better built radio you'll find is in the pro radio class, like a Motorola HT1000 which costs 3 times as much, is bigger, heavier and you have to have a professional program it for you. If you want one of the best made consumer GRMS/FRS radios that works out of the box, this one can't be beat. The battery life is awesome too, I could ski for two days without charging it, maybe longer. I'm sorry I underestimated it by its size, in the real world it's a winner.

**UPDATE** This review is for the GMRS consumer version of this radio. This listing is the business/commercial version of the radio. Still a great radio for business use, but if you're looking for the GMRS version, it may have been discontinued or you may have to find it somewhere else, I don't see it on Amazon now. Which is too bad.

We've had this product for several months now and are glad we purchased it (through Amazon). The price was right and it works as advertised. Now that my wife and I have matching phones (HTC Evo's)it's so convenient to be able to plug in either or both phones while driving. The unit comes packaged with one cord so we just bring along an extra one so we can charge both phones at the same time.

Usually, my wife seems to always forget to charge her phone at home so she's used it quite a bit more than I. When we're on long road trips we leave the phones plugged in so we can use them as we travel and when we get to our distination, our phones are (usually) fully charged for a day of sight-seeing.

I use the GPS (Sprint service) feature on the phone, so my old Magellan GPS is now obsolete. Besides, the battery had gone out (dead) on the Magellan and it would have cost what I paid for one of the phones (with rebate), and I was just about to pay out nearly a hundred dollars to update the navigation system. Thank goodness we bought the new phones.

By the way, the blue light on the plug (the part that goes into the car's cigarette lighter) is just right and bright enough to let us know the connection is working. The phones have battery-charging indicators also.

Rate a 10 on a scale of 1-10. Great product and well made.
