It does exactly what you want, charge your stuff. The blue LED Motorola logo is a good way to know if it's charging. I didn't know my car turned off power to the charger when you turn the car off. That's good to know.

I took a chance on this charger not seeing any reviews. It fit my Tomtom 920 without shorting it out. It seems as well made as any of the other Chinese crap out there. I didn't expect it to be made of iron and brass. Although I would pay more for one that was. All in all I'm happy with the company and product. I like the idea of the interchangeable tips. For the longest time CTEK has aimed at the european car market with 8, 10 mm eyelets, DIN dashmount adapters, etc. For the first time we have their jack with 1/4" (YES INCH) eyelets. This makes for great compatibility on power panels with 1/4" hardware that never fit right with mm sized eyelets.

The 1/4 rings allow you to install a permanent jack for long term storage or recharging dead batteries on american cars. This is not the version with the red, green, yellow LEDs to indicate charge status on the battery those are higher priced by a few dollars and allow you to read the charge status of the battery by watching which LED flashes.

None of the LED indicator models that I have reviewed (priced higher than the simple jack like this) have american hardware yet, so if you want that feature just cut the xx mm ring off, strip the wire back and crimp on the connector which best fits your fuseblock. The blinking LEDs do not draw much power from the battery due to the brief flash, so you can ignore the power loss.

My charger is over five years old. Ctek didn't note that they changed the configuration of their connections lately so they aren't compatible with the old models. I'm not inclined to go through the bother of returning it. If you have white colored connectors, these new ones will NOT work. Otherwise, they look like they are well made.

Update, Ctek sent me a cool adaptor that allows my old charger to connect to this new device. All's well and the new rig works better than ever!

Works great, using one on my wife's Honda 750 Aero and the one that came witht the chareeger on my Honda vtx 1300c. Easy to connect. I tuck mine in behind the side panel on the left side, so its not just hanging down from the bike, then just take the side panel off to plug it in. I may secure with a tie eventually, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Maybe now my batteries won't keep dying!

I have bought two of these already and am in the process of ordering a third .i have used it only once in late day january sun on flat ground in northern california it worked great. i am building a portable power grid for laptops etc. it can also charge car batteries. these rolls are light weight and weather proof as opposed to weather resistant which the foldable powerfilm product line claims. not sure how big a difference there is but weather proof sounds better. be sure to get an "RA-6 Daisy Chain Accessory" by power film it turns two panels into one.

it boils down to a portable power grid a backpacker could take for around 8 lbs which i find acceptable if your laptop etc isnt too heavy.

ps the fact that many of these are sold on amazon with no negative reviews speaks strongly in favor of this product

This is a nifty little item, and we purchased one to use when we're out at the sports field with my kids.

One of these unrolled on the top of a collapsable shade canopy (oriented southward), and it gives us the ability to power 2-3 small 12V fans. It keeps the air moving, and everybody cooled/shaded/happy. You can even charge up your cell phone (the larger panel puts out almost 2A of current at 15VDC.

Roll it up after the game, and put it back in the box for the next weekend.

Recommended.

I bought the rollable for a recent Alaska trip to power a GoalZero Yeti 150 and it worked wonderfully. (utilizing a custom cable) We were tenting it in the Riley camp grounds near Denali and every time I turned around people were stopping by to look at it and ask about it. The Yeti was powered solely by the 28w PowerFilm Rollable the entire two week trip and it we were charging four iPhones, two iPads and camera batteries off of it the entire trip. I am now planning on picking up a 60w when I have a chance for leaving in my FJ and powering slightly larger items etc.

Cheap Go Power! GP-SF-5 SUNfilm 5 Watt Solar Panel

I've already been using the Sunforce 5-watt panel so I thought I'd give this one a try for 20 bucks less : )

Out of the box the packaging is fine. Mine was a bit messy and looked like it might have been used/returned but it works so I don't care.

In most respects it is identical to the Sunforce but there are differences.

1) the Sunforce is quite a bit heavier. The casing is thicker and it weighs about twice as much. Does this mean one is tougher than the other? Not sure but it's worth noting that there is a noticeable difference. Both are behind windshields so I'm not worried about it.

2) the Go-Power has the same alligator clips and male cig lighter plug as the Sunforce BUT they toss in a little LED to prove the panel is still producing power. I use a volt meter so I don't need the LED but hey...it's there if you need it. BTW, the LED will also work for the Sunforce and any others that use the standard quick disconnects.

3) the Go-Power also includes a quick disconnect that ends in bare wires (they are cut off but not exposed). I don't need that for something that only produces 5 watts but I'll take it as I use those for all kinds of crazy projects with my large panels and trickle chargers.

Probably the most noticeable difference is the output. I laid the Go-Power and Sunforce side by side in the driveway, flat on the ground. Sun was heading down but still bright out so not the BEST situation for power but my goal was to compare the panels against each other.

Using my volt meter, the Sunforce put out 19.4 volts and the Go-Power 20.5. In case it had something to do with which one was on the left or right...I switched places and the same result. The Go-Power put out slightly more juice.

I'm not saying that if I tried another Sunforce it wouldn't be 21 volts...just saying of the two I have, those are the readings I got.

I've been using my Sunforce for a few months in my rarely-driven passenger van and it's done a great job. The Go-Power is going into my s-10 blazer that also rarely gets out of the driveway. I'm expecting the same positive results.

I have a short in my car somewhere causing a slow drain on the battery.

I decided to give this a try as a temporary fix as I don't have time to take my car in due to the work schedule.

I was hoping for something that would keep a charged battery topped off, but I plugged it into the cigarette lighter and stuck the panel on the dashboard and found the same cloudy day my battery actually got a bit of charged back from completely dead. Two days later the engine tried to turn, and it's now charged to the point of being able to start in the winter on day three. Remarkable.

I was hoping for something to prolong the charge a bit until I could take the car in, and I have a relatively small panel that is charging a battery from dead.

I bought this solar panel to keep the 2 12V fans on my boat spinning when the boat was shut down. You may know that mold and mildew get a foothold when the air gets stale, so I keep fans running to keep them at bay. This past winter, in RI, I tried an experiment, and taped the solar panel to the shrinkwrap cover of the boat. As you may know, the winter of 2012-2013 in RI was one of the worst in recent memory. This solar panel was exposed to feet of snow, freezing rain, sleet, high winds, birds and bird droppings (everything but frogs and locusts!). I was glad that I was able to spend time this year in Florida. When I went to check the boat for the first time since December today, the fans were happily spinning, and the boat showed no signs of mold or mildew!

This solar panel is better, and cheaper, than the Harbor Freight el-cheapo model that was not designed to be exposed to the elements.

I purchased one of these to charge some sealed lead acid batteries, and it works like a champ. Hook it up to the battery, plug it in and let it do its thing.

That being said, there are a couple of quirks the user should be aware of. The % capacity display is not at all accurate. It will typically state that a battery is 95% full, then increase slowly until saying it is fully charged, and on maintaining. I used this with several 9Ah 12V batteries, and some 8.5Ah 6V batteries. All of these were tested before & after with a BK Precision 601 professional battery analyzer. The readings never agreed, but that is not necessarily a problem.

While the $400+ BK 601 is a great tool, it is not necessary to know the precise values of capacity, load and no-load voltage or internal resistance (unless you want to know these things of course!) If you are maintaining SLA batteries of a smaller capacity, say anywhere from 3 to 20Ah or so, just hook up the Schumacher and ignore the initial reading. If it says 95%, the capacity might be 80% or might be 45% (I saw readings higher and lower on the 601) No matter. Let the Schumacher charge until it says 'Fully Charged' or 'battery maintaining'. But do not stop charging just yet. At that point, the actual capacity might only be at 95 or 97% (as verified by the 601). Let it go another 15 minutes or half an hour. Then go ahead and disconnect. By that time, nearly all the batteries I tested were at the full 100% according to the BK 601.

If the battery is too far gone, the Schumacher will let you know. There are a few batteries here and there that will accept a charge from the Schumacher, but may not perform as well as new batteries. Outside of a professional analyzer, there is not much you can do about them. They will work, but may only have 90% or so of the charge. The Schumacher does as best as it can with them.

It also oworked well at auto-detecting 6V batteries. Very simple to use, and for easy operation and good performance, and a great price, I give it 5 stars. Just be aware of its limitations.

After receiving this gadget, I realize that I probably could have used the smaller SP2 unit, but now that I've had it a few weeks, I'm quite pleased with how it works.

It is pretty large, but still only about a quarter the sise of a car charger. It's roughly the size of a brick, and has a big LED readout that tells you what it's doing readable from a good distance.

So far, I've only used the alligator clips for my motorcycle battery, but this also comes with a connector that you can attach permanently to the battery and has a simple connector to the charger cord. That means you don't have to remove the seat to hook up the charger. That seems pretty useful, and if I ever decide to unhook my battery and risk losing all the settings on my stereo, I'll install it.

I think something like this is essential in places that have a proper winter that keeps you from riding for weeks at a time.

I have a large power inverter (Whistler Pro 3000/6000) that I use occasionally in the field. I removed the included clamp crimp lugs, and used larger lugs for my 4/0 cable. I just clip these clamps to my truck's battery posts (with the engine running!) and can run my 2hp air compressor all day. Clamps are heavy press formed sheet steel with rivet hinges, so one star off for rivets instead of stronger hardware. Hopefully the rivets will hold up. So far so good.

I want to preface that since installing the clamp on my jumper cables, I have not had an opportunity to actually used them other than to test the grip, which is strong. The quality of the clamp did not match what I was replacing which was a heavy duty chrome clamp. The picture gives the buyer the impression it is chrome although it is not much more than polished galvanized steel. The plastic covering the handles is thin and subject to slipping off. The method used with this clamp to attach the cable is its weakest link. That being said, The price was very reasonable and the service provided by the seller was excellent. I would purchase from this seller again.

I bought this mainly for the car charger. I was worried about a generic charger working with the new iPhone 3GS, as it seems a lot of these aftermarket car chargers that are designed for older models aren't compatible due to the Firewire/USB pin issue, but for the price I couldn't pass up giving it a try. I received my chargers this morning what was received was a bit different than pictured (plugs a little different in appearance) but all three seem to charge the phone just fine. I haven't used the car charger long enough to tell if the charge rate can keep up with the heavy battery usage of the GPS-dependent apps, but I'll be sure to update this review if I find that it doesn't.

I cannot believe Frys and Best Buy charge so much for iphone chargers. Here's a complete set so you can leave one plugged to the wall, one in your car and one plugged to the computer without having to move around the usb cable -all three for under 7 dollars! And they're black so they match the iphone. Plus the end which you stick on the iphone is easier to grasp than one that came with the phone.

Received this rather quickly. Nice price for what you get. The car charger did not work with the iPhone 3GS. The power indicator lit up, but would not not charge the phone.

Everything else works great. The usb cable is a retractable type, which is nice because there isn't a long wire laying around on the desk getting in the way.

I would recommend this if you are looking for a wall charger and usb charger to sync with. Maybe the car charger I received was just defective, as other reviewers haven't had a problem with theirs.

The Odyssey PC625 Powersports Battery is a very good Battery. When I first received the battery, I was a little worried because it is very compact. I put it in my boat (it arrived fully charged) and went out to the lake. I tooled around for about 4 hours and still had a 1/4 charge. I liked it so much that I bought a second one and I now use two of these to power my 40 lbs thrust electric trolling motor. The small size allows me to easily fit both in my Minkota Battery enclosure. I have the motor on my square back canoe, and this set of batteries keep me trolling all day long. Smooth power delivery and long life as well as the compact sealed design make these batteries ideal for powering small boat motors. It takes and holds a charge very well. It is a little more expensive than a similar battery (that is larger, heavier, and may not work as well) but I believe it is completely worth the price. I would recommend these without hesitation.

heheh, I'm going to be the outlier here believe it or not I use this in my car! :) I think this really shows the power and versatility of this battery. I modified the back of my car to open up to allow for easier working on the engine, but this required me to tilt the trunk 90 degrees the original battery was a normal battery, so this would translate to spilling it's contents all over everything, which is generally what you don't want to do. So I searched around and looked for what my options were in terms of a sealed battery that could still put out enough amps to turn over my car more than a few times and not leave me stranded in some parking lot. A couple other Lotus owners also identified this battery (which they used for weight reasons), and I switch to it about two years ago without a single issues.

Now I don't recommend this for everyone (or really anyone), because there are quite a few caveats such as I had to put a battery quick-disconnect on it because the parasitic load from the alarm would drain it dead in about a week. But I think the fact that I can use the battery and have it perform so well in an environment it most likely was not intended to be in speaks volumes of its quality.

I use an Odyssey charger to keep the battery topped off when not charged by the engine alternator. Since it is a dry type battery there is no acid spillage to contend with.

It appears that this battery is not compatible with Tom Tom One 3rd Generation. When installed, the unit would charge okay, but if you attempt to connect to a computer so that you can use Tom Tom Home the unit would reboot. It would then NOT ask to be connected to a computer again but would instead just sit there and charge a battery. Given that batteries can't be returned this is $ down the drain. Thanks Ultralast.

The battery was described as a "12mah" but I was sent an "11 mah" battery. I don't how much difference there is in them, but if you advertise one thing and I choose to buy it, then that is what you should send. I think I used my twenty words!!!

Replacement Battery for Tom Tom. Good replacement except the terminal from the old battery needs to be spliced to the new battery to connect it to the tom tom. Other than a minor splice its works great, restore long term standby power to the unit.
