Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In February, I purchased two Motorola T325 Wireless Bluetooth Car Speaker Portable Vehicle Visor Mount with Auto Pairing For All Cell Phones and SmartphonesBLACKNon-Retail Packaging. for my wife's and my vehicles and gave those units a 5-star review.

I requested a review unit of this T225 because the limitation of our T325 per-vehicle solution has been that if my wife and I swap cars, we don't have hands-free calling unless the first person out remembers to also swap the speakerphone units.

This T225 speakerphone pairs with multiple cell phones so that more than one person can use it hands-free. The extra people might be in the vehicle (which would be a little weird, as the microphone would typically be on the driver's sun visor). But, in a multi-driver household, any driver would have hands-free operation.

What's not to like? Well, all of the features of the T325 that this speakerphone does not have which make the T325 more "hands-free" than the T225.

This is a very basic, 'dumb' unit. When a phone rings, it announces that the call is for Phone 1, Phone 2, etc. If two paired phones are in the car, you have to have some idea which phone is 1 or 2 (etc) to know if it is your phone that is ringing or someone else's. Doesn't sound like a huge deal, but...

What about when only one of multiple paired phones is in the car? This phone simply rings and says that there is an incoming call. You have no idea who it is from. The T325 announces the caller by name. If you don't want to answer the call on this T225, you have to somehow press both the volume UP and DOWN buttons at the same time. With the T325, you just press a single button.

How about dialing? Both support voice dialing using your phones own voice-dialing feature. So, the intelligence depends on your phone itself. But, what about calling your 'favorites' or frequently called numbers? The T225 offers nothing. The T325 memorizes a list of favorite contacts and easily lets you scroll through the list with one button, listening to the name being announced and then pressing the dial button when the name comes up.

Entering the car, the T325 announces "Connected to John Smith's iPhone. Battery level is high" (e.g.) while the T225 announces "Connected to Phone 1. Battery level is high." Receiving a call, the T325 announces "Call from David Jackson". The T225 announces "Call for Phone 1".

The T225 is so limited its only real feature is the ability to pair with multiple phones that I just cannot recommend it, when I consider how powerful and useful the T325 is.

I've posted a photo showing both the T225 and T325 clipped to the sun visor to compare their sizes/shapes.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Open it up, turn it on. Pair your phone with it.

That is it. The device is simple, it does one thing, and it does it well. Sound quality is clear, people say they can't tell I'm on a speakerphone (but I use Sprint and their voice quality is not so good.

There are other models that do more, I read the three star review, but I put it to you this way: You want a device that does one thing and does it well, and you want the battery to last as long as it can so that you can use your phone as long as you can. The more features you load on to the device, the more the battery wears down, and the harder it is to use, or the more likely you are to get it into an odd state.

It really is a top quality device, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Voice instructions for hookup, you really do not need the instructions.

Best Deals for T225 Bluetooth Car Kit

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In a different product review, I proclaimed the Supertooth HD as a near-perfect Bluetooth device for hands-free use. I came up with a list of 14 criteria items. I will post that list here and that will show why I rate the Motorola T225 as 2-stars.

What makes the perfect car bluetooth speakerphone?

==============

1. It should have caller-id that speaks the name of the caller

The Motorola T225 does not have caller-id.

2. It should automatically turn on/off as you are away from the car

The T225 is pretty bad in this department. While it seems to have an auto-off, it will never turn itself back on unless you purposely move the micro-power-switch off and back on again. I tested this multiple times and it simply has no way to turn itself back on automatically. It is waaay too inconvenient to have to remember to turn this device off and back on each and every single time you enter your car.

3. It should have ample volume while driving at highway speeds

Volume on the T225 is pretty pathetic. The Supertooth HD is probably 4x louder.

4. You should only have to press a single and easily accessible button to answer or place a call

This is a really bad design on the T225. It has a mute button and an answer call button, both are the same size and you have to remember which button to press or...take your eyes off the road and look up to see which button you are pressing. Sure you will memorize it eventually, but the device is so small, if you're off by 2 inches, you'll press the wrong button.

5. It should make use of your phone's built-in voice recognition system (if your phone has this)

Confirmed, this works.

6. It should be easy to pair and auto-download your phone's contacts

Yes, easy to pair multiple phones, but there's no caller-id name announce, therefore, it does not store contacts. This is a huge deal-breaker why have the fancy technology of bluetooth, if it won't announce who is calling you ?

7. It should reconnect easily when you are in the car

Does not do this at all once it has auto-turned itself off. You must physically move the power switch off and back on.

8. Callers should be able to hear you clearly at highway speeds

Callers seem to hear me fine, but I couldn't hear them because of the low speaker volume, with volume turned all the way up

9. The charging port should not be obstructed when the device is installed on a sunvisor

Not obstructed

10. It should have a long battery life

Seems to be as advertised, but probably because it turns itself completely off, you must manually turn it on each time after it auto-powers off.

11. It should be reliable whether it is -40 degrees in Fargo or the internal car temperature reaches 140 degrees in Texas

Unknown at this time

12. It should have good documentation or manufacturer's website and support

Motorola has always been good about this.

13. It should be usable whether the sun visor is flipped down or up

If you flip your visor, you must remove and reposition the device and visor mount.

14. It should be reasonably priced

Compared to the *feature packed* T325, this T225 is over-priced it simply has no real features. If you're going to spend the same amount of money, get the T325 on Amazon. If you want a bluetooth device that matches the 14 criteria items above closer than any other device out there, for a reasonable price, get the Supertooth HD.

Honest reviews on T225 Bluetooth Car Kit

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is truly a universal product. I have a 5 years, old fashioned cell phone from Samsung provided to me by Verizon, which was never happy with any other Bluetooth device. It worked with this one like a charm. Very easy to pair and connect, almost like plug-and-play. The product itself has a very beautiful design and speakerphone is very powerful. Even if you drive with your windows open, you can clearly hear the voice from your call. Battery lasts a lot. This is an excellent deal for the price.

I am extremely happy with this product and I recommend it to all users who experienced problems with other Bluetooth devices in the past.

Amazon.com was kind enough to provide this product for me through their Vine Program for reviewing and I was not request to provide a positive review. Opinions expressed here are my own.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've had this unit for a few months now, and I'm still running off the initial charge! Battery life is amazing, clarity is good, and the bluetooth range is greater than I had anticipated.

Pairing was simple, and re-establishing the connection is as easy as turning it off and on again. Big talk button, easy to hit even with gloves on. No complaints, I wish I'd gotten it sooner!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Being on the go, I'm constantly in need of a charge. I've had other chargers and they all (mostly) served well but the Verbatim Dual USB Power Bank has to be the best by far.

The first thing I want to mention is the speed of it's own charging. Whether it be via computer or super charge USB wall outlet, this Power Bank charges to it's max super fast so that you don't spend a great deal of time waiting on it. Secondly, it also recharges your smartphone, tablet, MP3 player, Kindle, or whatever USB charge-based item you may have quickly.

Small and compact, you can easily carry it with you; although, with a bit of weight to it, you may not fancy carrying it in your purse but definitely compact enough to toss in a car's glove box.

With several electronics around here which require charging by USB and limited USB wall chargers, the Verbatim has come in super handy. It's a product that's going to stick around our house for quite a while.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Since my unit won't charge itself past two bars out of four(and I've tried it with two good high-capacity chargers) I presumably have a defective and unusual unit. However, it does work (though with less capacity), so I can review aspects of it, and there are a few things I can mention that may not be obvious from the listing:

PROS

1) The sides are covered in this black grippy rubbery-feeling plastic that will make it hard to drop. It's relatively attractive on one side but the other is covered with more verbiage than I've seen on one of these products. And it's being less slippery means it's less likely to be dropped and broken.

2) There is a "check" button that lets you see how much juice is left before plugging something in. This is a nice feature and one I don't have on my other chargers.

CONS

1) As I type this, this sells for $40, but you can get an EasyAcc (with many positive reviews) for $43 with 12000mAh. I have one of those (I paid $50) and it works great and has 4 USB charging outlets, though I've never used more than 2 at a time.

2) It's awfully big and heavy for an 8400 mAh unit. It's not as heavy as the 11000 EasyAcc but it's relatively close and it's about the same size.

3) the USB to micro USB cable is about 5 inches long. This is great if you plan on plugging it into your device and let them sit on top of each other and charge, and you won't have extra cable to worry about. If, however, you have any plans of using this to top up your device while you're using that device, you'll wind up tossing this cable. I mean, think about it: Are you going to want to use a phone or a tablet while having to hold this brick too.

4) None of these come with their own chargers, but many of them come with multiple cables for different types of devices. The EasyAcc I'm using came with 3 cables, one iPhone specific, one to go to the wall charger, and another one that came with sevearl different tips. This one comes with the one short cable.

5) When it's charging something there's no indication on it that anything's happening. On other units, there will be some indication that the charging is in process, and you can tell if it's finished charging the unit. For instance, if I'm charging a tablet, I now have to open the case and check the tablet to see if it's finished charging. It's nice to have the indicator light. Also, the indicator light serves as an indicator that something's happening.

If mine worked, I'd say that this was an OK product but I think that Verbatim is charging for the name, as there are a few other brands (EasyAcc, Incredicharge,Anker, for instance) that have great reviews and give you more for your money.

Best Deals for Verbatim 8,400 mAh Dual USB Power Bank 98009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Verbatim battery has a high capacity in a durable rectangle shape about the size of two decks of cards. It has about two full iphone charges and has enough oomph to charge a completely dead iphone. (Some smaller recharger/batteries lack the amps to do this, which can lead to a very frustrating situation if your phone completely dies.) I initially was very frustrated with the device, as it appeared not to take a charge from my iphone 5 charger. Correspondence with the very helpful Verbatim staff resulted in me being given another unit to test. The same problem happened again. Yet, the device charged perfectly from my computer, from a usb power strip outlet, and from an old Jawbone charger I had knocking around.

Another peculiarity of this battery is the extremely short--maybe six inch--cable that is included. Although convenient to carry, it makes plugging the device into any wall charger quite a challenge. If you have your own micro-usb cable, this is not an issue.

*Pros*

* Large Capacity

* Ability to boot dead phones.

* Capable of charging two devices at the same time.

* Pass through charging of other devices--very convenient as you can plug in the battery to your charger and then plug your devices into the charger.

*Cons*

* Does not play nicely with iphone 5 charger.

* bulky form factor

* Very short usb cable.

Overall, although this device is acceptable, there are a few better options on the market. I would recommend the Energizer Universal Multi-Port Smartphone Rechargeable Charger with 2 USB Ports, Micro USB Cable, 10W and 5W Charger over it, for instance. That said, the Verbatim gets many things right, including its generous capacity, ability to boot dead phones, and offering pass through charging. An extra star for the super responsive and helpful Verbatim employees who tried to troubleshoot my difficulties with the iphone 5 charger and sent me another unit, which I think bodes well for general customer service.

Recommended with caveats.

Honest reviews on Verbatim 8,400 mAh Dual USB Power Bank 98009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is pretty neat. The plastic box it comes in took a little effort to open, but it protected the charger well. It comes with the power pack, a cord to attach the charger to a computer that is about 3-4 inches long ( longer would have been better) and an instruction pamphlet explaining to you which port to charge your electronic item in, the ports are different for iPhone, iPad etc. So be sure to read which one applies to your item.

I've been using this to charge my iPhone 4 with my iPhone charger. The power bank is slightly larger than my iPhone with an Otter Box cover on it; it wasn't heavy or bulky so I was able to walk around with my phone while it's charging. The power bank has LED lights on it. With my phone already 85% charged, the lights are still not lit up until I press & hold the check button down. Then it gives me bars. I'm still a little confused as to how the bars work. It explains it in the instruction pamphlet but as long as I see my phone charging I'm not worried. I've only had to use it about 5 times and there is still power to charge my phone.

I only gave it four starts because the LED light seems misleading. Other than that it works great with my iPhone. I have not charged an other item on the power bank yet.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm a sucker for powerbanks. Don't know why I must be paranoid about not being able to read my Kindle on the plane or something. Or play sudoku on my phone.

I need to get a life...

Anyway, this is OK for an extra battery pack, but there are better ones out there. I've been able to charge my Kindle Paperwhite and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) from a little less than half way to the top on a single charge. I think I should have been able to get more than that, but I get the feeling that this doesn't stop charging things when the things are full, so it runs out of juice when it doesn't have to.

This feels like it's about the same weight as my phone in its case, so it's not super heavy probably 50% heavier than my naked phone. It comes with a 5 inch cord for charging (micro USB to USB) that I actually like a lot I've been trying to find super short USB cords for traveling so I might get more use out of the cord than the actual battery. :) It's just nice for having when I charge my phone in my purse no long cord to get tangled.

So for the price (~$45 as I write this) and the performance, it gets 3 stars. It works OK, but not spectacularly so, but it's inexpensive. I don't trust the lights on the front. I like being able to charge 2 things, but so many powerbanks do that now.

It will charge my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7-Inch, Wi-Fi), and not every powerbank will do that.

Interdynamics AFK-12 Arctic Freeze Auto Air Conditioning Smart Reviews

Interdynamics AFK-12 Arctic Freeze Auto Air Conditioning Smart Charge Recharge Kit - Pack of 1
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars
Buy Now
I read a lot of customer reviews before buying the ArticFreeze AFK-12, and was very apprehensive about the unit's performance but I threw the dice anyways. I'm glad I did. My order arrived promptly and in perfect condition.

To insure a successful System Check and Proper Charge, PLEASE read the instructions carefully, and notice the ERROR in the AFK-12's instruction sheet. It involves a FIFTEEN-(15)-SECOND trigger squeeze to charge the unit -DON'T DO IT !! Use a FIVE(5)-Second

trigger squeeze if charging is needed, as described below. A 15-Second Trigger Squeeze can take you from a Low Charge to an Overcharged condition !!

Hint: DO NOT attach a can of refrigerant to the AFK-12 Tester until you have determined that adding refrigerant to the system is NECESSARY. Once the can is screwed on, it CANNOT be removed without the loss of the expensive refrigerant into the atmosphere.

In case you've lost the instructions:

1.Find the proper Port (Low Side) and unscrew the (blue or black) protective cap to expose the Low Side Fitting.

cap to remove.

2.Start the Engine, Transmission in "PARK"set the A/C to MAXIMUM Coldest setting, Fan Speed Highest keep all windows WIDE OPEN during test.

3.Attach Blue "Push and Lock" coupler to Low Side Port. Push down firmly on coupler until it "CLICKS" into place. The unit WILL NOT WORK if the coupler is not connected firmly !!

4.Turn AFK-12 unit "ON" by pushing the Black Button in the center of the unit.

Measure the condition of the A/C System by squeezing the Black Trigger on right side of unit for TWO (2) SECONDS and then releasing the Trigger.

Wait a few seconds while the lights flash alternately as the unit self-calibrates and checks the condition of the system.

REMEMBER: One of the best features of the AFK-12 is that it SELF-CALIBRATES and compensates for ambient temperature variations. Units that use analog gauges DO NOT compensate for ambient temperatures !! The installer must do the calculations, and there's too much room for error. The accuracy of the AFK-12 is greatly enhanced by this self-compensating feature.

5.Use Light Color Bar Chart to determine if charge is needed:

Red Bar = WARNING: System OVERCHARGED.

Yellow Bar = ALERT: STOP Adding Refrigerant.

Green BLINKING = PARTIAL CHARGE: ADD Refrigerant.

Green SOLID = PROPER CHARGE: NO Refrigerant needed.

White Bar = LOW CHARGE: ADD Refrigerant.

IF REFRIGERANT IS NEEDED:

Shake can vigorously for at least one full minute, then screw can on tightly to the bottom of unit.

Being CAREFUL to KEEP THE CAN UPRIGHT, squeeze the Black Trigger in FIVE (5)-second increments to charge the system, shaking can repeatedly every few seconds during the charging process.

Release the trigger to CHECK the system. Repeat as needed until SOLID GREEN Bar is lit.

CAUTION: This unit is Computerized, and is VOLTAGE SENSITIVE. There are FOUR (4) batteries included in the package. Be SURE that each battery measures at least 1.5 Volts before installing. The Battery Compartment is CLEARLY MARKED to show battery positions. Be CAREFUL to install all 4 batteries in the correct position.

NOTE: The AFK-12's Blue Coupler fits all systems that were designed for 134A refrigerant.

My 18-year-old Mercury's A/C system now gives up a frigid blast of air before the engine reaches operating temperature. Outstanding results were obtained with ARTICFREEZE Ultra-Synthetic 134A+ (the PLUS means it also contains a leak sealer and a moisture-and-acid eliminator), which comes in 12 oz. cans, also available at Amazon.

Take your time, read the instructions, work carefully, and reap the benefits all summer long !!

Good Luck !!

Interdynamics AFK-12 customer support was helpful. This may supplement the instructions on the unit. As I understand it, you press the round black on button first to turn on the unit it will cycle and beep to show it is on. Then give the black handle a 3 -4 second squeeze to calibrate it to air pressure. The unit will go through its measurement cycle. Connect the hose to the low side coupler and while holding the unit upright (if a freon can is screwed on), squeeze the black handle for only 2 to 4 seconds to get a measurement. A short squeeze will take a measurement, a longer 15 second squeeze will add freon if a freon can is screwed on. The unit will cycle after each 15 second fill.

But always use an additional 2 -4 second squeeze in between the 15 second fills to measure and see if it needs more freon added. I have two of these units in different locations and will have to play with these instructions.

I felt comfortable with the Arctic Freeze Freon Fill kit with guage and UV leak detector and penlight which was simple and worked well. I found no leak. Freon level set and AC blowing cold. :)

Reviews of Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
If you're looking for info on how well this works with headsets, I'm sorry to say that I don't own a BT headset (yet). This review focuses on the transmitter in conjunction with a Sony BT receiver that I use to connect my iPod to my home receiver, since that was the primary reason that I got one of these. But hopefully you'll still find something useful.

First off, Amazon's two sentence product description is a bit too brief, so here are some specs from the packaging:

Communication System:

Bluetooth Specification version 2.0 + EDR

Output:

Bluetooth Specification Power Class 2

Maximum communication range:

Line of Sight approx 10m (30 ft)

Freqency band:

2.4 GHz band (2.4000 GHz 2.4835 GHz)

Modulation method:

FHSS

Compatible Bluetooth Profile:

A2DP, AVRCP

Supported Codec:

SBC

Supported Passcode:

0000, 1234, 8888

Terminal:

iPod connector

Compatible iPod models (official):

iPod nano 1st generation

iPod nano 2nd generation (aluminum)

iPod mini 1st generation

iPod 4th generation

iPod 4th generation (color display)

iPod 5th generation (video)

Although the compatibility list does not mention it, this add-on definitely works with the iPod classic, because that's what I'm using. The terminal is the current standard 30-pin connector, so if your iPod is more recent than the above list, chances are that it will probably work... but I can only speak for the classic.

CONTENTS:

The package comes with:

iPod Bluetooth transmitter

manual

One funny note regarding the packaging: I couldn't believe how HUGE the packaging was for such a small item!! The main photo on the package depicts an iPod with the transmitter cleverly placed in view right below the iPod photo, where it would plug in. It certainly catches the eye.

USAGE:

It couldn't be simpler You just turn on your iPod and connect the transmitter to the port, and in order to activate it, you set your receiving device into pairing mode and then hold down the button on the transmitter for about 7 seconds until the two devices are paired. That's it.

SOUND:

Overall, I find the sound quality on the receiving side to be excellent. I base my opinion on headphone comparisons between:

a) plugging directly into the iPod and

b) plugging into my Bluetooth receiver unit

As far as I can tell, the sound is pretty much identical, although a bit lower in volume, but that may due to my Bluetooth receiver.

For reference, I'm using the transmitter in conjunction with the Sony HWS-BTA2W Bluetooth wireless audio transmitter/receiver as my Bluetooth receiver. Both these two devices support Bluetooth 2.0 and A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). For audio comparisons, I used a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ Monitor Series Headphones.

One important thing to note is that you cannot control the volume of the transmitted sound. I'm not exactly sure why that is, but it appears to be by design. All your iPod controls behave as they normally do and you can even move the volume slider up or down, however it has no effect on the transmitted sound. Some functions, however, do still affect the sound, such as "Sound Check", "Volume Limit", and all the "EQ" settings. Since these features still work, I'm assuming that the lack of volume control is by design. The volume output is the max allowed by the Volume Limit setting.

My only guess is that the volume control is to be used in conjunction with AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile), but I don't have such a device to confirm. I don't know if this happens on other iPod bluetooth adaptors, but I could see the inability to control the volume via the iPod becoming an issue if you want to use it with a BT headset (unless the headset has volume controls)

RANGE:

The packaging states "Line of Sight approx 10m (30 ft)". I had thought that Bluetooth did not require line of sight, but Sony clearly states so and for the most part, it holds true for this unit. I have tested up to around 25 feet with clear line of sight and the sound remaind crisp and clear. Clothing also did not present any problems. I buried the iPod and transmitter under a pile of ski clothing with no effect.

But once you block the path with walls or other sources of interference, the signal will start to become choppy or completely cut off. Be warned that your body can also block the signal. Cupping my hands completely around the transmitter would pretty much turn the signal to crap beyond only a few feet from the BT receiver. In most cases, as long as I'm witin a one or two feet, the signal still comes through, but the more I block the signal and the further I go, the more the signal would degrade, as is to be expected.

As far as home use goes, as long as I'm in the same room and not actively trying to block the signal, I haven't had any problems.

DESIGN:

The design is about as simple as you can get. It has a single big button in the center, which you can use for various functions (turning on/off, pairing) and a bright blue light which signals the unit's activities. It is completely powered by the iPod, so no extra power supply or battery is required.

I have seen similar Bluetooth attachments for the iPod which are little blocks the same width as the iPod. Personally, I prefer the small design of the Sony. One major factor that I like about it is that I can plug it into my iPod without removing it from its protective case. I use a leather casing by INCASE which only leaves me an opening for the 30-pin connector at the bottom.

My main pet peeve that I have about most block adaptors is that while they may blend better with the iPod in overall shape, there aren't any cases (that I know of) available that fit an iPod WITH attachments, so if you use a case and want to connect something, chances are you'll have to remove the iPod from its case before plugging in your accessory. The Sony might make for an odd shape, but for my purposes at least, it works better and I think that it still looks pretty slick.

One thing that Sony could have added, however, is a locking clip for the transmitter. The transmitter sits pretty snugly and doesn't feel like it'll fall out by accident, but it would have been nice to have that extra sense of security.

CONCLUSION:

The unit is a bit pricey, but overall I'm quite satisfied with its functionality. The sound quality is good and for my purposes, I haven't had any problems with signal strength.

As an aside, my primary goal was to connect my iPod to my home speaker system. I was originally looking at the iPod Universal Dock, but found it to be completely worthless, since the remote control could only play/pause/skip prev/next and control the volume. For actually selecting music, I still had to go up to the dock in order to browse for my music. And who wants to get up to change music anyway? :)

Using this Bluetooth setup, I can now use my iPod as a fully functional "remote" (except for volume) and have my music come out of my main speaker system. I do wish I could have the option of charging my iPod while it's broadcasting (since the charging port is occupied by the transmitter), but the fact that I can keep my iPod in its protective case and the nice compact size and look of the transmitter makes for a decent tradeoff. Bottom line: If you have a nice home speaker setup, I totally recommend going this route!

**UPDATE 12/13/2007**

Just a few more quick notes and clarifications (as if this review wasn't long enough, eh?) since I've been using it for about a month now... and I still LOVE this device!

Usage:

I should clarify my above comment that it only requires pairing with your receiving device ONCE (like most BT devices). After the initial pairing you can unplug it and only plug it back into the iPod when you want to use it. If you're near your previously paired receiving device, all you have to do is plug the transmitter into your iPod and hit play, and the receiver should immediately pick up your audio signal. To preserve battery life, the iPod transmitter only transmits if you're actually playing music, which is pretty good.

Lack of volume control:

After having read other reviews for similar attachments, the fixed volume output appears to be normal. For my purposes, it would have been nice if I could have controlled volume directly from the iPod, but I'll live. At least I know that it wasn't necessarily a design-flaw in this particular device.

If you've tried another Bluetooth transmitter for your iPod, you may be stunned at just how small this one is (see my product picture relative to coins).

As others have said, it pairs very easily and since it draws power from the iPod, it doesn't require charging.

Some additional notes:

The size of the button is very convenient for any size fingers (many units feature extremely small buttons).

The unit fits securely in the iPod and does not break connection if you shake the iPod, and I mean SHAKE it. Great even for robust exercise.

The power it draws from the iPod is minimal, having only a negligible effect on the battery charge. In this configuration, it outlasts the charge of my Motorokr S9 Headphones

The sound quality is excellent. My previous Bluetooth transmitter was never so clear.

The range is the best I've come across for a Bluetooth device. As an experiment, I connected the device to my iPod in my bedroom and then went downstairs to do some laundry. The sound was clear and uninterrupted until I got to the laundry room door, about 30-35 feet from my iPod.

You really can't go wrong with this unit. It's more expensive than some of the others, but you'll love the convenience and level of performance.

This Bluetooth adapter does work with the iPhone in spite of the message you get when you plug it in. The message states that it doesn't and asks you if you want to switch to airplane mode. Just answer no and continue. The key to getting it to work is to start whichever application you are using to play before you plug in the adapter. My only problem is that occasionally if I'm moving with the iPhone on my belt, the sound will "cut out" for a second.

Honest reviews on Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

I just received my iPhone 3G this week, and like many people, I was extremely unhappy that it did not come with Bluetooth support for my Motorola S9 stereo headset. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Apple chose not to support the Bluetooth A2DP standard. I expected more from a company on the leading edge of digital stereo and smart phone integration.

Fortunately, Sony came to the rescue with their TMR-BT8IP Bluetooth Transmitter. This small device plugs into the iPhone 30-pin connector and gets power from it, so there is no charging necessary (very nice). It comes in black or white, so it matches the current iPhone colors nicely. Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (White) Sony Bluetooth Wirleless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

I have been using the Motorola S9 with my Samsung Blackjack for about a year and half, and I love it. I have become hooked on listening to high quality stereo with no wires to get tangled. As an added bonus, you can pick up phone calls without missing a beat, and even redial without touching the phone. Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Version 2 Wireless Stereo Headset for Cell Phone

Getting everything to play well together was a pain, but now that it's working, I'm a very happy with Sony, and Motorola, but still annoyed with Apple! Apple fumbled the ball here, which added an unnecessary $60 expense to the iPhone along with hours of frustration...

Hopefully, the following instructions can help mitigate some frustration for other buyers of iPhone.

The trick to getting everything to play together is to recognize that the iPhone's built-in Bluetooth is used to control the phone features of the headset, and the Sony Bluetooth transmitter is used to control the stereo music features of the headset. You must pair the headset with the Sony transmitter first, and then pair the headset with the iPhone.

1. Turn off Motorola headset

2. Turn on bluetooth on iPhone

3. Plugin Sony to iPhone

4. Answer no to the iPhone Prompt "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" this comes up every time :(

5. Press and hold Sony button for 7 seconds until blue LED flashes quickly

6. Press and hold Motorola headset power button until blue LED goes solid

7. Sony and Motoorla will automatically pair

8. Stereo music should now be heard on headset

9. Press and hold Sony button for 3 seconds until it tops playing music

10. Unplug Sony transmitter from iPhone

11. Turn off Motorola headset

12. Use iPhone Bluetooth control to start scanning for devices

13. Press and hold Motorola headset power button until blue LED goes solid

14. Motorola headset should show up on iPhone as unpaired

15. Pair iPhone with Motorola headset

16. Headset can now answer incoming calls using left ear button or iPhone answer

17. Plugin Sony to iPhone

18. Press and hold Sony button for 2 seconds

19. Stereo music should now be heard on headset

Even I still have trouble getting this script to work consistently, but rest assured, if you're persistent, it can be made to work, and it works very well. It's just a shame it has to be this painful Shame on you Apple...

I bought this because I had already purchased the Sony DRBT-50 headphones ( which are also Bluetooth ).

I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it paired with the headphones, and how good the sound quality was.

The range seems to be about 20 ft ( unobstructed view ) from the iPod with this transmitter and the DRBT-50s..

( which was also a pleasant surprise, I am used to bluetooth's range usually being about 12 ft or so with the equipment I currently own ) After that range the signal started to drop out.

The device is powered by the iPod, so it cuts down on the playing time of the iPod ( I haven't determined how long it will last yet )

There is no way to control the volume with the iPod or this device, I needed to use the volume controls on the headphones ( which did a good job )

All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase.

This charger is very nifty. I really liked the design of it. The cord is a bit short. Don't forget that it retracts via the button. The button blends in well and can be hard to see in a dim lit vehicle, especially in the winter evenings. I had forgotten about it and was used to my other retractables where you need to pull all the way out before it winds back in. Needless to say, I pulled firmly, but not that hard. I didn't feel any tear or break, but the very thin cable couldn't stand up to it. The charger stopped working. I had it all of one day.

Great idea, not very well built. I never did get to fully charge a device, so couldn't say if it rapid charged the Galaxy Nexus.

This one needs some TLC, but could work well for someone else. I ended up getting a Verizon car charger since it can charge 2 devices at once.

Good for the price. Probably as good as something you'd pay 3 times as much for at a cell phone store. 3 bucks.... who could ask for more, really?

I was surprised how quickly this arrived. It's the perfect little compact charger that I needed for my car. With the retractable cord, it takes up very little room but has plenty of cord available if you need it. Great service and charges well, can't beat the price.

Honest reviews on Retractable Rapid Car Charger with IC Chip for Verizon LG VX5500

So far this works pretty well. It doesnt charge as fast as the original LG charger and sometimes my phone recognizes it as an "unauthorized charger", but for $3 it's well worth the investment!!! It does it's job! I do like that you can roll the cord up, that's a bonus!

Bought this just to keep as a backup power source for my wife's phone in her car's glove box. Great at being compact and no fuss with having to keep the cord coiled and tied up. Just drop it in the glove box and it's ready to be used when needed.

This splitter is HEAVY and bulky. But if located correctly, these are advantages. I was using all 4 outlets with multiple swaps going on all day by people from different angles in the van, and there was never a problem with intermitant contact or loose contacts. I attribute that to the heavy casing and the heavy outlets. The only caution are the two tabs used to attach the splitter. They appear to be undersized if the splitter is hung. I used both the provided double-sided tape and the tabs to hang my splitter it is quite stable.

I received this item fast and I installed it in about 5 minutes. It came with double sticky tape and 4 screws so you can choose which method is best for you. I chose the screws because I wanted a more secure installation. I drilled the holes and mounted the bracket and the unit attached easily. I plugged it in and hooked up my key fob charger, phone charger and radio transmitter and had all 3 operating without a hitch. The unit is sturdy and mounted with the screws I had no problems plugging and unplugging my devices. The only thing I can complain about is that the item I received was not the same as the picture so they must have substituted. I have no problem with that as the substitution in my opinion is better looking and it works awesome. I would buy another if I owned another vehicle. I recommend this to everyone.

I uploaded 4 pictures also so you can see the unit installed.

Not much to it. But still, it does what it supposed to do, and and is solid.

Comes with screws and a mount for the dash, and double sided tape so you can mount the way you prefer. 4 outlets, one with the "spring" bit that works with your cig lighter. The maybe 3' cord leading to the device is nice, and makes it flexible for mounting.

Honest reviews on Wagan 4-Way 12V Automotive Socket Extender

Cord is as specified @ 34"

Cord is all black unlike picture (its a newer model than pictured)

Cord is 18 gauge wire

Safegaurded by a 10 amp fuse

All 4 sockets are usable for any device and all 4 sockets can be used at the same time as long as the total amperage pulled by those 4 devices is a total of 10 amp's or less.

Mounting screws are very short, so I used some longer screws; I didn't try to use the doubled sided tape.

I installed the unit under the passenger dash on my bass boat and ran wires from the battery to a female adapter to the front where it connected to the male adapter.

Unit Works greats great

For the price it is a great deal.

This product was pretty good for what it was. It's positives is that there are four sockets to charge

but the negatives is that the sockets are really narrow so if your plug is wide then you will most likely have to leave a slot unoccupied simply because the sockets are so close together.

Another con for a compact car is the cord is pretty long.

And the final and major con is it worked well for the first 9 months but died just last week. It is very disappointing as I paid more in hopes this would last a while. I will be contacting the company

I really didn't want to buy another cell phone or get my charge port fixed. i need my cell! so i found this product on amazon and gave it a shot. Ok the good is that it charges your battery. The bad is that it takes 3 hours to charge, your battery has to be placed inside a device and then plugged into the wall or car charger. There is a red light indicator that turns blue when fully charged. This light turned blue after 1 hour on a dead cell. and when i put batt back in cell, batt was still a dead cell. So i changed where i plugged in device . I just plugged it in another socket in the house and that time it charged for the full 3 hours. This has happened time and time again but as long as when i change sockets and it charges then i would recommend this product to someone. Its a good product if you don't want to buy another cell or get it fixed and if you don't mind not being able to talk while cell batt is charging cause you have to take batt out in order to charge it.Also it has only two copper connecters that touches the copper connectors on batt. At 1st i thought hey wait this thing has only 2 copper connectors that touch batt, will it charge, YES. Ok you have to let left connector touch left connector on batt and right connector touch the right one on batt. the middle connector on batt doesn't have to have a copper connector touching it in order for to charge.

2, 6, and 10 amp charging rates are all I need for my motorcycle and automotive needs. This little charger is perfect; very small with provisions to wrap up the cords and has a very interesting and smart charging cycle that promotes a healthy battery. The maintaining feature is nice too as it will put a load on the battery to simulate use and then charge it to keep the battery in optimal working order over long periods of storage. I don't believe the maintainer will automatically turn on after A/C power is lost in a power outage for example, so you may wish to purchase another charger if maintaining is your primary use, but you may want to contact the supplier first.

This unit exceeded my expectations. I'm using it to refurbish batteries for my solar power system and it works great. The loading phase will repeat until it gets it right so that the sulfation on the plates is virtually eliminated. This charger is saving me hundreds of dollars by not buying new deep cycle batteries.
