I ordered this product because my husband travels out of town, and is in his car more than he is home. It was very inexpensive and I just got it so he'd be able to use it until he had the time off to get a better one. Well, about a day after he used it (and LOVED it) It stopped working. Then it would work perfect. Then it would stop. It is a vicious cycle, and I would 100% recomend not getting this, unless you like playing the lottery with your car chargers..

I work in a large cold storage facility that requires occasional repairs to be made in the freezers that have no 120 volt AC available. We used to use cordless drills etc. but the battery life in sub zero temperatures is extremely short. We were wasting too much time waiting for the batteries to recharge and warm up. What we finally ended up doing was to make a portable deep cycle battery cart with an inverter mounted in an Igloo cooler. Deep cycle battery packs require a specific recharge cycle that is TOTALLY different from automotive starting batteries. This charger provides the initial bulk (current constant) charge for the initial 80% charge followed by the absorption phase (voltage constant) followed by the float stage (reduced constant voltage). A automotive type charger will not provide the proper charging cycle and will eventually ruin your deep cycle batteries due to sulfation and plate warpage and deterioration. The IQ4 option is a microprocessor based "smart" controller that allows you to hook up your battery pack and forget it. We have used this charger extensively for about 9 months without any issues or complaints. You MUST do your research and buy the appropiate sized charger for your AH rating as deep cycle batteries must be bulk charged at a rate not to exceed 25% of the 20 hour (C/20) AH capacity rating. Our battery pack is assembled from four 6 volt ,215 AH batteries wired (series/parallel) to provide 12 volts @ 430 AH. To extend the life of your battery packs, it is recomended to keep the bulk charging rate to about 10% of the AH (C/20) rating. In our case that would be 43 amps so the 45 is ideal for us. The charger is basic, well built and the cooling fan is variable speed (as required by heat dissapation) and quiet if that is important. One last benefit is that this is also a regulated, filtered nominal 12 volt (13.5 V) power supply that will power devices up to its rated output without a battery connected. I actually found out about this charger/power supply on a ham radio site. Great bang for the buck.

The light on the charger is bright and easy to see during the day. At night it can be too bright. I just plug it upside-down. I'm not impressed with charging speed, it is still useful. There is tag reminding you to unplug the device before starting the vehicle.

Have only owned the product for a month, but am completely satisfied.

Does everything I would have expected. I collect motorcycles and never remove the batteries. I'm too lazy to move a charger from bike to bike. I've plugged in most of the bikes plus a car that I seldom use in the winter and leave them on. No worries.

Only negative I've found is the leads from the charger to the battery are only 6 feet long. If you require more, you need to purchase a 25 foot extension. 31 feet is much more than I need. Wish I could purchase leads of 10 to 15 feet long.

I live on a small farm and have many pieces of equipment that have batteries. I was able to remove the batteries and place them on a work bench and charge 10 of them at one time. Plus this unit will keep them at peak level until spring arrives.

Have charged many groups of batteries and everything has worked as advertised. However note that if you battery is dead this charger will not start charging unless it senses 3 volts (safety interlock feature to protect against loose cable ends shorting) so you will need to connect another battery or get it started with another type charger first.

I wish the plug end for the GPS unit was at a 90 degree angle. The straight plug puts a lot of strain on the assembly. In addition when I use this with my GARMIN Nuvi, it thinks it is plugged into a computer and cycles through that portion of its program. My son gave me his old GPS unit with a burned out charger, so naturally I wanted to spend as little as possible on a replacement. A Garmin OEM replacement was over $21, so that was out of the question as I wasn't even sure his unit worked. Many of the imported knockoffs listed had poor ratings. People complained that the units didn't work correctly and were stuck in computer programming mode. I've always had good luck the GTMax brand of knock-off products so I put my faith in it and ordered it, apparently the first person do so as there were no reviews and it was dirt cheap at $1.99 plus $2.98 for shipping. But I figured, for under $5 total, I could throw it away if it didn't work. The product arrived quickly and I was again impressed with the quality construction of this GTMax product. I was even more more impressed when the big blue indicator light on the end that lit up when I plugged it in to the car charger and the perfect length coiled cord that stayed out of my way. The Nuvi 1200 unit imediately lit up and loaded and I was off on my first trip with no problems. I would highly recommend this well-priced, well-made product for those needing a replacement charger for their Garmin Nuvi 1200. Since they list many more models that take the same charger, you can probably assume it will also work well with all the models listed, It certainly did with mine.

I originally bought a charge controller for about 40 bucks and it was a total waste of money. If your just starting out with a basic starter Solar system, I definitely recommend spending the extra money to get a charge controller like this. The display makes it easy to trouble shoot any problems too. Great product and so far great service!

The Prostar 15 is a no-nonsense, high quality solar charge controller for a reasonable price. I have been using mine for a few weeks now aboard my boat with a 100w solar array. The controller was very easy to install, provides indication that it is operating properly with LEDs, and gives off no noise or RF interference (mine is mounted in an electronics cabinet just a couple feet from my VHF and FM radios). There are many other chargers out there that offer more features for considerably more money, but for the intended application, the Prostar is a solid controller at a great price.

I have worked on a system using this charge controller and over the years the controller has had to be replaced on average once every two or three years because it simply stopped working. No indication why, it just simply stopped. For the price, I would be expecting a product that would last, but that is not my experience with this charge controller. I am currently in the market to replace the controller right now and am looking at alternatives.

I am very unhappy with this product. The EPIPDB-COM unit appears to be working with NO error messages. However when the MT-1 meter is plugged in, the error light is illuminated and will not function. The only item not installed is the remote temperature sensor which according to the instructions does not need to be installed. The diagnostic information with the unit is a joke (along with the entire manual). I have checked and double checked all connections. No customer support information is available in the instruction manual. I would NOT recommend this product!!!!

I wish I had bouht th 20 amp. controler. The Harbor Freight solor panels I have are only 45 wats, thats about5 amps. I could put a lot more on line with the 20 amp one.

Just installed the Charge Controller Regular from the "Sain Store" (along with the SainSonic MT-1 remote LCD meter from "Amazon Warehouse Deals, Inc.").

So-far-so-good! Everything works as described, and was very easy to install. The price was OK @ $52.59 for the Charge Controller, but not the cheapest on the market for a like product, and the MT-1 Meter ("like-new-used") price was GREAT @ $12.55. "FREE SUPERSAVER SHIPPING" from Amazon.com with $25.00+ purchase was a real nice touch.

Some products such as this one (sold online) are similar with no lableing to indentify the maker or where it was manufactured (USA, China, or outer space)!! That's my main concern here. Beside the Sain Store backing of there item, I have no product maker to rely on for trouble shooting issues or whatever, hopefully none will arise.

Someone should look into labling these products better. Also, no product warranty info, which is somewhat disturbing!!!

That being said, I would appreciate some sort of feedback on these issues, thanks a lot.
