had issues with the battery life about 6 months after the initial use. Battery didn't hold its charge very long. seller was going to send me a new one but at the last minute, they decided it was past my warranty date. I told the seller I had problems earlier in the year with the battery and but they backed out last minute and asked me "why didn't I report the problem earlier?" so I told them I don't use the battery often enough to inspect or monitor any probems unless the battery doesn't work at all.This is where I am now.

Much cheaper than factory replacement. The only issue I had were the terminals were slightly smaller than the one that came from the factory installed in the ION amplifier. Initially, this loose connection caused the amplifier not to work at all, and I thought I had a bad battery, but, after replacing the terminal connectors to give it a tighter connection, it works fine. saved 50%

I have a Samsung Epic 4G phone which charges over Micro USB. It has never had any problem with any USB power source, whether that be a computer, a hub, a Playstation 3 or several other wall adapters. For some reason when I plug it into this charger, it confuses the phone in such a way that the touchscreen doesn't work. Immediately after unplugging the phone it works again. I have no idea what this charger could be doing that it would cause it to do this.

It is not the fault of the phone, as every other charger works. I also tried another phone of the same model and got the exact same results.

Don't get this charger if you have a Samsung Epic, and be careful if you have any other smartphone.

Nice concept. But after a few months of using the device, the AC plug simply came off with the plug still in teh electrical outlet. With metal showing, I had to kill circuit breaker to take the broken plug off. Great idea, but poorly built and a safety hazard. I wouldn't recommend this.

Looking for a quiet inexpensive way to light my 400 sq ft cabin. A 20w panel with the hqrp battery charge controller did the trick. Coupled with a car battery, can run 2 thirteen w cf bulbs for a couple of hours. Have to admit...ordered another panel for more capacity!

I purchased the iBolt PowerBolt 9000 a while ago and have been meaning to review the product.

I have had it for a few months and it is a great charger. Works great for my Galaxy Note II and my wife's Galaxy S 4 as well as my daughter's iPad 2. Also, the included Apple adapter came in very handy when my daughter's iPad charger cable died. Also, after the initial charging, it recharges itself very fast now (I mainly use the DC wall charger, but also recharges pretty fast using a USB charger).

The only flaw I can find with the charger is that is isn't compatible with the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Well, to be fair, it does charge it, but the tablet marks the battery with a red "X" while it is connected to the PowerBolt and it charges it very slowly. I will blame that on Samsung for using a proprietary charging standard that is more picky than Apple's iPad.

Beyond that, I am very happy with the product (and a big thanks to iBolt for the 50% coupon).

Reviews of OTC 3184 Professional Battery Charging/Starting System Analyzer Kit

I bought this tester because a client with several boat batteries needed their failure definitively documented for a warranty claim.

The literature claims the tester will operate with as little as 1 VDC, and there is no need to charge the batteries before testing. When I arrived on the client's boat, the batteries were at 11.85-12.00 V, which should be plenty to test the batteries. Not so. The 3184 responded with "Charge & Retest".

After charging to "Float" with the multistage charger, the batteries were at 12.33-12.46 V (low for fully charged batteries). The 3184 responded with "Good Battery" for each battery, based on the CCA being close to the factory rated value. The only problem is that the batteries are NOT good. They are rated for 198 Amp-hours each, but can only supply about 10% of that before the voltage drops to a useless level (11.7 V).

After much deliberation with OTC tech support, it turns out that the 3184 tester is not capable of testing all lead-acid battery types. My client has AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries, and the 3184 gives erroneous results. There is no mention of this shortcoming in any of the (minimal) literature supplied with the tester, or in OTC's description of the tester on their web site. I actually found the problem in the online OTC catalog on a "compare features" page while waiting on hold, and the OTC tech support people were not even aware of it.

Thankfully, Amazon will accept my return. I am upgrading to the OTC 3167 tester, which claims to be able to test "All" 6-12 V lead-acid batteries, including AGM. Still waiting for delivery.

Since not much can be found online about this product I hope to shed some light on this tester.

The OTC 3184 is a conductance battery tester and not a load tester. This technology now seems to be the preferred method of testing the condition of automotive batteries.

Testing a battery on the bench is done by simply selecting the battery rating with the tester and then allowing the tester to run its cycle. The tester will display the batteries voltage, if it is good or bad, and capacity in CCA, a very nice feature.

Charging and starting tests are very simple. The starting test records the lowest voltage from the battery while cranking the engine. The charging tests measure alternator output while at idle, 2000 rpm and 1000 rpm with varying loads turned on or off (headlights, heater, etc). There is also a test for alternator ripple voltage, this is the test that can really save you a lot of headache.

Test results are very repeatable and seem in line with load testing results.

I think the menu system could be a little better, but that's my only complaint.

Overall, a very nice tester to have in your toolbox.

I purchased for work. I maintain diesels that have four batteries each, 12 volts each. It works on 24 volt, but our batteries are 1500 amps each. It has trouble reading the cranking amps of both batteries at the same time. I just remove the jumper between the two and test each one individually. I do wish it tested amp hour rated batteries. It only does CCA and similar.

Measures CCA, but not very good at determining if battery is chargeable or sulfated. Still it's much better than using a voltmeter to inspect batteries and it's relatively inexpensive.

It looks good and the blue light helps locate things by the dash panel, but tends to get very hot and charges slowly. It gets the job done for the price, but I will be looking for something a little better as far as charging goes.

This is the second K5000 I've purchased from this seller. I own many inexpensive DVR's, 808's and Lighter cams made in China. The 1st K5000 has worked flawlessly for 2 months, easy to operate and the resolution is better than all the other Car DVR's under $50, so I bought another for the sedan. Good value, what you do get, versus what you pay.

The Downside Potential: My expectations were apparently much higher than the functionality provided ih this device.

As I used it, I found myself creating a "Wish List" of Functionality, like "It would be nice if I did not have to push buttons while driving", etc. ie. (Voice Recognition commands would be nice, and probably much more expensive.) Another "Wish" which emerged, was... "How to capture in HD, tailgaters crawling up my trunk!". Some other car videos offer two lens, one facing front, and one facing rear. I am not sure how effective a rear-facing lens would work from the rear-view mirror over my dashboard. Many drivers in Russia and Japan are using these dash cam's to provide evidence in litigation involving accidents. So, this camera is better than nothing!

This unit requires user mechanical and electrical skills to place it in an acceptable operating condition. It should not used 'as is' out of the box to provide power or charge batteries. The unit could damage connected AC devices and batteries due to poor or non existent quality control and assembly by the manufacturer. If you are looking for a 'start and go' generator then avoid this unit. If you don't mind some cleaning, adjustment, improving, modification, disassembly and reassembly then you can consider this unit worthy of your skills for a decent sale price. I inspected the unit for obvious mechanical problems and noted the 'room for improvement' issues before starting it. I used a break-in oil to gas mixture of 30:1 for the 2 stroke engine. The engine started easily on the third pull but was running rough and erratically after 15 minutes of operation. Disassembly of the carburetor revealed manufacturing debris and metal particles inside the passages, carburetor cleaner and compressed air solved those issues. Spark plug inspection showed fouling already, cleaned the plug and tested several more times, each time the plug fouled after running for 20 minutes or more. Replaced the plug with a Champion RN9YC (couldn't find a non-resistor plug) and the fouling issue stopped. So, cheap quality factory spark plug no good! Engine starts on the first pull now (after the choke pull) and runs smoothly. There is no screw adjustment on the carburetor for fuel/air mixture, an issue for rich air/fuel mixture fouling and piston carbonization if you live at high altitude (as I do). Put that on the to-do list to install a metering screw on the carburetor. Note: that spring loaded screw at the side and bottom of the carburetor is a bowl drain (grin :-p ). I tested the generator voltage outputs after getting the engine to run well and found 150 volts AC/ 30 volts DC, bad news for connected devices and batteries. The governor adjustment was set at 'good enough' allowing the engine to overspeed resulting in higher generator head voltage output. Hmmm, a test of patience at this point so far with this unit. I had to try different springs at various locations with the factory set holes on the governor arm to get good voltage output and engine RPM. The factory wiring routing and bundling for the generator head, spark plug, magneto, switches and voltage outlets was a joke, I dont think the wiring would have lasted for too long before shorting to the metallic parts from vibration and causing a disastrous problem. I installed grommets at the generator head case wiring hole (don't know or understand what the thinking was here, just a matter of time before the wires short to the case) and magneto wiring case hole, bundled and secured all the wires in a flexible sheath to prevent abrasion. The carburetor cover and air cleaner assembly is also noteworthy for having no screw stops to prevent overtightening and cracking the plastic, so I installed special oval head type inverted washers to prevent overtightening and provide plastic stress relief around the cover screw holes. The muffler was installed off center on the exhaust port due to bad welding positioning of the attachment bracket, fixed all that and stopped an intermittent exhaust leak and oil drip. Oh yes, I think a heat shield between the muffler and the gas tank would be good also (To-do list). Enough you say? Fortunately I have lots of patience and enjoy this type of work making a piece of equipment operate better than it came from the factory. The only thing I really dislike about this unit is having to remove and reinstall the gas tank constantly to get to anything underneath that needs servicing. I hope this review gives you some good insight about this unit.

Received this item fine, the All Power America APG3004D 1,200 watt 2 stroke gas powered generator. I could not start this, husband had a lot of trouble getting it to start. Once it started it ran very rough, we let it run for a time and tried to turn on a simple fan would not start. Husband is very good with mechanics and turned it off, looked it over and gave it another try. Fan still would not run. Called the company All-Power and they said I could return it no problem. I had to send an email with proof of purchase. First email I sent was not good enough, the proof had to be an attachment not a copy. Resent email and got confirmation it was ok that I would get a return authorization within 8-10 business days. Day eight I called and the rep was rude and told me that since I didn't purchase directly through them (bought at Amazon) that it would take however long it took, she repeated 8-10 business days. On day 10 I still had not received an email and called, all I was able to get was the company's main voicemail and left a message. Day 11, still no response and called, again I had to leave a message 3 days later and I still have not received ANY communications from AP. I have turned this over to the BBB and Amazon to help. Amazon is accepting my return for refund THANK YOU AMAZON!!! I will highly recommend that you NOT purchase anything from All-Power, check out the BBB before you do I did not and would not have if I had read the past problems others have had. Hope this helps you make a better informed decision.

I did my first run and made a few discoveries. I filled the tank with TruFuel 40 to 1. I opened the fuel valve, closed the choke and turned on the switch. Two pulls and it started and fuel started leaking out at the fuel cap. I shut it down and dipped out about half a quart of fuel, put the cap back on and one pull and off it went. I left it warm up and it was surging. I plugged in a 1000 watt hot plate and turned it on. The generator started purring like a kitten. I put on the frying pan and cooked a steak to perfection. When the thermostat on the hot plate would turn off, the generator would go into a surge mode again and as soon as the hot plate kicked in, it would purr like a kitten. So don't put more then 3 quarts of gas in the first time. The second time I ran it, it started on the second pull and purred like a kitten under a load but surged when no load like a typical two cycle engine. Worked like advertised but would not want to use in on delicate electronic.For the price, it worked great.
