I bought this charger on the recommendation of M. Shatila to avoid damaging the battery on my Earthwise model 60120 lawn mower with the OEM charger that overcharges the battery if it is connected too long. I later bought an Earthwise model 60214 lawn mower, which also has a 24 volt battery, and used this charger for it as well. It worked great for the first 9 months I had it, but then suddenly something failed that caused it to continue charging the battery until it was completely destroyed. I've uploaded some photos to show the end result, which shows that the battery cells got so hot that they literally expanded and the plastic casing melted. There was also a lot of acid spillage, since these batteries are not the dry AGM type. This occurred while the battery was being charged inside the house, and created a mess. So, I can no longer recommend this product, which failed to safely switch to a low trickle charge state after the battery was charged, which is precisely what I bought it for in the first place.

Update on 7/20/2013 It appears that Amazon has removed all the photos that I and other customers had uploaded for this and other products, so you'll just have to visualize the severe damage that this charger did to the battery. Meanwhile, I've gone back to using the OEM charger with a timer to prevent it from overcharging the batteries.

I bought this charger to charge my new Earthwise 24v Lawnmower I bought here on Amazon. I sold the charger that came with the lawnmower on e-bay. I bought 5 Amp instead of 2 Amp so I don't have to wait forever for the battery to charge. You can read my review for the lawnmower on how to connect to the battery. It charged the battery in 8 hours (compared to 24 hours and not fully charged with supplied charger). It has monitoring system, which is great if you do not want to disconnect the batter every time it is charged. I watched some videos on youtube and it is highly recommended.

I'm really happy with this smart charger and I strongly recommend it.

I use this 24 volt charger on my Flow boat lift. I fasten it to the frame under the canopy and recharge the lift batteries over night about once a month. It is small enough to leave attached to the lift all summer while also being strong enough to charge the batteries over night.

Honest reviews on Schumacher INC-2405 5 Amp Automatic Microprocessor Charger

After more than 36 hours connected to my 24-volt battery on my lawnmower, the indicator light that is supposed to turn green when the battery is charged is STILL red. I may have to splice the connector into my original, 'dumb' 24-volt charger which required just under 24 hours to charge the battery fully.

I checked the voltage being provided by the charger, about 0.02 volt although it was 36 volts previously.

Boo-hiss.

UPDATE: I just finished reviewing my splicing and the polarity of my connector. It absolutely is correct according to continuity and after re-reviewing the diagram in the manual, as well as the polarity of the plug as indicated on the device. Maybe I will have to have the charger replaced due to a faulty part, and maybe I'll have them replace my lawnmower battery if it cannot be charged.

I got this item to charge my daughters 24v Polaris car. I mounted it on the car and just plug it in to charge two 24v 24mAh battery. I like that it will not over charge it and gives a green light when fully charged. It is also not as big as i thought so that is a plus.

Have been pleased with the charger I ordered thru Amazon and the order fulfilled thru Jafrum. Fast delivery with a tracking number and in the manufacturer packaging material. I hope it lasts many years. I have the Deltran Battery Tender Juniors, like them also, but wanted a little more charging amperage and this Yuasa Smartshot has 900ma versus 750mA. I routinely use this float chargers on my car batteries too to help keep sulfation at bay.

Beware! I bought this product and tried to charge two different motorcycle batteries. It didnt work on either. The light would come to show that it was plugged in, but wouldnt charge the battery. I was desperate to get the bike running so I cut the cables and made a little set of jumper cables out of it...not ideal!

I am a professional auto technician for a german auto dealer. I was looking for a battery tester to keep within reach to quickly test customer batteries during scheduled services. I was close to purchasing a $400 Snap On battery tester, but when held in hand felt very cheaply built in comparison to the price tag. I found this battery tester for a fraction of the price and decided to give it a try. The tester came as pictured, with an included orange silicone bumper cover around the device (edges). The quality of this product is great, the feel of the buttons and build is very nice. The unit is very small which is an added bonus, fits easily in any drawer of your tool box. Testing of batteries literally takes 1 second. And it tests DIN rating!! It is very accurate. Another great feature, the tester remembers the last options you chose (ex: type of battery tested, test rating CCA, DIN, etc). For the price this product is amazing. The LED read out display does have an orange plastic cover over it which can make it a little harder to read in sunlight. But, a razor blade can easily take care of this issue. ;) Two words: Do It!

It does seem to do the test I want, reserve capacity, which is harder to test than a basic load test or state of charge. A car battery can be fully charged, pass the load test, and still be old and sulfated enough to have very little reserve capacity.

One major verification I got was when I tested some smaller lead acid batteries I use in my uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The new battery passed with a reading of over 100 cranking amps. The bad ones showed a reading of about 5 amps, even though a voltmeter showed nearly 13v (full charge) on one of them. The 13v bad one passed the test that the UPS does when you turn it on (!), but it failed to keep a computer going at all when I cut the power to it. So this Solar tester beats the UPS's own test.

I'm also planning to use this to see if my desulfating battery charger can revive some old or junked car batteries.

**See Comments below for an update the Solar BA5 got "fooled" by a failed car battery with low capacity.

Best Deals for SOLAR BA5 100-1200 Cold Cranking Amps Electronic Battery Tester

We had a 3 year old battery die in the middle of the summer on one of our cars. The dealer warned me that the battery was weak when it was in for service. I assume they tested it with some kind of meter like this, so I started looking for a way to test the batteries in the other cars before winter. One of our foreign cars has a battery that is 5 years old that costs $320 installed, so I really wanted to avoid replacing it unless necessary.

I used the tester to check the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) on all of the cars. The new battery tested above the rated CCA and the most of the others were also close to the rated CCA. But the 5 year old foreign car battery tested at 50% of the rated CCA, so according to the meter, I SHOULD have replaced it. But I didn't, because the car needed new rotors and pads on all 4 wheels for around $1400, so the battery got put on hold.

So every cold morning, I go out and start it and hold my breath. The car with battery with 50% of the rated CCA has started with minimal cranking at temperatures down to 0 deg F, which is as cold as it gets around here. So I am a little suspect about the validity of this meter. I probably should replace a 5 year old battery, but I suspect this battery meter would have caused me to replace it earlier than I needed to. The problem is I don't know of any other place to have the battery tested that I really trust. Seems like they all want to sell you a battery. So the jury is still out on whether or not you can use this meter to decide if you should replace your battery.

Honest reviews on SOLAR BA5 100-1200 Cold Cranking Amps Electronic Battery Tester

I test hundreds of batteries a year as I'm a yacht electrician and diesel mech. Many boats have anywhere from 6 to 24 batteries. I own a Matco 3184 (made by KAL or OTC...can't recall) tester, have used numerous Midtronics battery testers, a Snap-On battery tester and the old-fashioned carbon pile load testers. I bought this on a whim as it was on a Lightening Deal for thirty seven dollars. Some "pro" features this doesn't have are testing batteries below 32F, testing above 1200 CCAs (like 8D start batteries are 1450 CCAs) and testing 6V or other voltages. But you pay a lot more for that stuff which most people don't need.

It's made in China and has that cheap feel. The orange protective cover is not well fitted but does offer some drop protection. The display is easy to read (bright red LEDs) and I was able to figure this unit out without having to read the manual (although the manual is helpful). The cables are kind of short but adequate. I suspect this unit will not last through professional use. The keys are the plastic covered bumps that eventually wear through. Also, the cables are not robust and will eventually stop working as the wiring at the strain relief will break inside. I have seen this happen on many units...even good ones. My Matco unit has cables that attach to the body through a connector and can be replaced (I'm on my second set of cables in 11 years of owning it).

Using this device is very easy. You select SLI (wet-cell) or SEAL (sealed...AGM, gel, etc). Then you select the CCA rating and you get results quickly. Comparing this to my $400 Matco unit, results are within 10% of each other. I have been using this side by side with my Matco unit for two weeks and can say that both give consistent results and the Solar BA-5 does a better job with AGM batteries which my more expensive unit doesn't do well with (it wasn't designed for AGMs and was made before AGMs became mainstream).

So, overall, for the price...this is a great piece of equipment. It wasn't designed for professional use and isn't priced to compete with professional units. But it does give professional results. The only downside is that it probably won't last (I may be wrong, of course). Time will tell how well this holds up and I will update this review if anything interesting happens. But even if you are a pro, you can buy 10 of these for the price of a pro unit and be set for life. And many pro units don't last that long either...I have seen more problems with $600 Midtronics battery testers than any other brand. So, this little piece-of-made-in-China-junk may be a super deal after all. Four stars.

I sell many batteries using this tool. Just enter the CCA and whithin seconds, the tester will perform a load test on the battery and display GOOD, RECHARGE, or FAIL. Simple and quick.

NOTE: I have the charger with the full connector kit, meaning instead of 1 tip I've got 7.

This charger is great.

I use it to charge my Insignia Ns-DV4g and 2g, it works like a charm.

It says you should expect it to take 30 seconds in the sunglight before it starts charging but mine begins almost immediately.

I found the item to be plenty sensitive to the Sun.

It is sleek and attractive unlike most of the other charges I've seen out there.

Very simple to operate, even digital immigrants won't have trouble using it.

The various connectors are pretty comprehensive. If you were going on a long outdoor trek like I am you could charge your mp3 player, a USB AA/AAA battery charger, a garmin GPS, your cell phone and probably just about anything else you can think of.

I like that it's a folding unit because mine will be in my backpack a lot while hiking and I don't want the panels exposed to direct pressure and other sources of possible damage.

All around it is a kick butt unit, get one. I paid 30$ USD shipping included so shop around!

Longevity is the key where UPS batteries are concerned. Too early to determine how these will rate in that department.

For now, though, these fit the bill nicely as replacements for the worn out cells in my APC UPS. They fit perfectly, and they are even rated with a higher current capacity than the originals, so I have high hopes.

The price was good also.

My Nuvi 760 really never worked quite right, even when new. After purchase, I noticed complaints online regarding the battery and its rather poor capacity. What concerned me most was that the battery pack would get VERY hot during charging (which Garmin considers normal) and then would only last fifteen minutes before low battery shut down. My GPS was not the subject of the recent Garmin battery recall, so that was not an option.

I wanted to update the maps because I really do like the GPS, so I had a decision to make: Trash it and get a new one, or attempt to replace the battery, test it and then update the maps if successful.

I went online to Amazon and found this kit for $20.00 or so and thought, well, I'll try it and if it doesn't work, I'm only out $20.00 and I saved the cost of a map update. I ordered the kit and received it in two days, which I consider quite fast.

I opened the kit and found the shim tool, two screwdrivers, a CD and the battery pack itself. I put the CD in my DVD player and watched the installation video. Then I got to work and opened the case. Everything went just like they said in the video. Screws came out, case opened, battery came out, replaced the battery, snapped the case back together and installed the screws. Really easy. But my experience may not be typical, as I used to work on aviation electronics, so my easy may not be your easy.....

I plugged it in and it has worked flawlessly ever since. It no longer gets hot while charging and goes at least five hours before low battery shutdown.

I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to replace the battery in their Garmin Nuvi. It is very inexpensive, high quality, and you get to keep the tools. At least I think you do. No one has called asking for them back......

Even if you have never worked on electronics before, take a whack at it. Just be patient and follow the instructions. It's only $20.00 and you just might save your favorite GPS.

I was so distraught to have my Garmin GPS constantly going off due to a "low battery". It was relatively new to us, and loved it when we took road trips a few times a year. However when checking with Garmin, they said the battery could not be replaced and we needed to buy a new one. I felt this was ridiculous.

After some research I came upon this Battery Replacement Kit. I was a bit skeptical but after reading the reviews and knowing it had a Guarantee, I ordered the kit. It came very promptly and was installed in just a few minutes after watching the installation CD. As others had said, you do need some double sided tape to hold the battery in place. I had read that when I purchased, so I had some on hand. In replacing the battery, we did not lose any of the previously entered information, such as settings, locations, and favorite places.

I would highly recommend this purchase if your unit is failing. Now I have the tools, and if I need another battery in the future, I will order the battery alone, which is very inexpensive. Also, if you have friends with with a Garmin, you can loan them your tools and they can just order the battery.

Best Deals for Garmin Nuvi 760 Battery Replacement Kit with Installation Video

I was a bit worried about how hard it would be to replace my Garmin Nuvi 760 battery. Could I do it? Garmin (whom I love) told me that it was too complicated and they offered a $150 exchange program. I was really sick about this expensive solution. On one hand, I had a perfectly fine, working GPS as long as it was plugged into my cigarette lighter (90% of the time the method I use). On the other hand, I could no longer use the "Pedestrian" mode when walking in unfamiliar cities. If I would be gone for more than about 20 minutes, the battery would not last as it had originally. I loved the security of being able to get back to my hotel no matter how much I wandered (and didn't pay attention to where I was) while checking out the sites. The $150 solution would allow me to keep my lifetime map subscription alive, but $150? Many new GPSs are that cheap and some even offer lifetime maps. Plus, I love my Nuvi 760!

Thank you Amazon for selling this most wonderful solution. The kit came with everything I needed except the double-sided tape. The replacement process was remarkably simple. My Garmin required I use the supplied Torx screwdriver and I had the screws out in less than one minute. Using the supplied plastic "case-cracker" tool, I had the case open in less than another minute. Just to be safe, I used a "Sharpie" marker to mark the top side of the two connectors I had to unplug from their sockets to ensure ease when I had to put them back (speaker connector and battery connector-this helped me be sure the wires plugged in correctly when I re-connected). Using the case-cracker tool to help me, I easily unplugged the speaker and battery. At this point the back case of the Garmin was free from the electronics in the main case and I could remove the battery by prying it off using the case-cracker tool to help free it from the two-sided tape. Again, this was less than a minute. Using some two-side tape my wife had in the house, I secured the new battery to the back case. I was now ready to reconnect the connectors.

By looking at the orientation of the three colors of wires on the battery connector and comparing the new battery's connector to the old one I marked with the Sharpie, It was easy to see which way the connector plugged in. Because these connectors are small and my hands are large, this took me just a bit more time get aligned and plugged in than someone with smaller hands. I used the case-cracker tool to ensure the battery connector was fully plugged in. This step was not hard or confusing, it just took a little practice because the parts are so small. I repeated the process for the speaker connector. Snapping the back case to the main case was super simple and took about 5 seconds. I replaced both screws in less than a minute and the job was complete.

I don't know exactly how long I can run my Garmin because I have yet to run the battery to near empty. But I have gotten two hours+ so far.

If you have any fears that you cannot do it yourself, put them aside. YOU CAN DO IT!!! IT IS EXTREMELY EASY AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO! I am so happy to have my Pedestrian mode Garmin back for $25! In three or four years, I'll be ready to do this again!

I have installed large, glass, metal-framed solar chargers on a previous boat, but wanted something light, flexible, and removable for the tender to a large motor yacht. This unit seems to work well and provides 0.3 to 0.5 amps of charging current under typical conditions in San Diego in the winter, which is enough to keep the battery charged when the only draw is occasional running of the bilge pump when it rains.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This item comes, as advertised, with two accessories. There is the 12volt "cigarette lighter" female plug and a longer cable with battery terminals on it. Both of these accessories plug directly into the plug attached to the panel.

What I have used it for:

On a sunny day, I took it to the park and laid it out flat on a park bench when the sun was as close to zenith as it can be at noon in WI in the beginning of April. First I charged my I-phone. A simple 12 volt usb adapter plugged into the 12 volt cig. plug did the trick and the phone immediately started charging, no issue with "charging not possible with this accessory" messages like I got trying to use my Brunton 5W thin film charger. This is the 14 watt and worked great, charging the phone just as fast as the wall charger can. Finished with that, I then charged an Ipod. With that at 100 percent, I plugged in a Brunton Solo Batt Pack and started charging 4 eneloop AA batteries. I finally departed with a haze forming in the sky and the sun's angle lower at about 3:30PM. The panel laid flat the entire time and was not canted toward the sun. So, in 3.5 hours, it was able to charge two devices, one from about half charge, the other from below 20%. It also put enough charge into the eneloop batteries to charge my Ipad that night by about 5%. That's not bad when you consider a set of AA charged in a LaCrosse Tech wall charger only charged the Ipad about 17%. In 1.5 to 2 hours it managed to bring the batteries up from a low charge to almost a third of the charge they would have had overnight plugged into the wall.

I can't speak to the panel's ability to charge laptops, but I was surprised when I took my Panasonic portable dvd player and plugged it into the 12 volt cig. plug. It started charging! I am impressed. My advice is go big. I have messed around with the smaller panels because of an acute case of the cheaps. They never did what I wanted them to. Finally getting the panel big enough made all the difference in the world. I would never recommend a panel smaller than 14 watts. I would also recommend that if you want to take one of these panels backpacking, take a foldable one, not the roll. I love the roll model, but it does take up some room and you have to be careful not to squash it flat when it is rolled. Between the Brunton and the Powerfilm (I have both brands) I would definitely recommend Powerfilm. The cells are made in the USA and it just plain works better.

[Note: Although I mention a 220v circuit in the video review, it is connected to a 208-240v 40amp double pole breaker.]

We bought the Siemens 30-A Bottom Fed VersiCharge because it fits our lifestyle better than the 110v charger included in the car. I typically use the car in the morning for some errands and my wife uses it for about a 15 mile r/t to work and back in the afternoon. So I usually have a charging window of a couple of hours to top off our 2013 Chevy Volt before it goes out on the road again. The 110v charger would not get it back up to a full charge in time.

Since I did a video review, I'll just mention a few things here I didn't have time to include in the review.

What I like:

Well made, sealed for outdoor use, although I have an inside installation.

Feels sturdy -the cables are thick and appear well insulated.

Relatively quiet. When you're near it you can hear a faint electrical hum, but unlike some other units reviewed here, there is nothing that would ever bother you. It makes a firm electrical "click" when you plug in into the car (you can hear it in the video review) but nothing like an alarming bang that other devices seem to make.

The large "halo" surrounding the device lets you see the charging status from a considerable distance. This can be disabled if desired.

The charge plug inserts and removes from my Volt firmly, but easily.

What could be better:

The charging plug is somewhat difficult to remove from the holder in the charger. You have to press very firmly on the rubber-covered button and pull it away with some force. This may get better over time.

The wall mounting bracket is plastic! Although it shows no sign of coming loose, hanging a 21 lb. electrical device on this flimsy bracket does not inspire confidence. (The plastic may be due to some requirement related to an outdoor electrical connection, but it should be thicker plastic.)

The device wobbles a bit on the wall because it does not quite fit flush, due to the way the lag bolts go into the bracket. There is only a narrow vertical support, nothing horizontal. Not a big deal and it is on the wall securely.

I feel this charger is somewhat overpriced, especially compared to the one offered by GM, but it also seems to be a better charger. I personally think they are all overpriced.

Summary:

A fine charger with a three-year warranty. If there are any problems I'll update this review, but I expect it to work well for a long time. This is a 4.5 star review, but I'll bump it to 5 because Siemens is a reliable company and the warranty is excellent.

I chose this charger for four reasons. 1) It was capable of delivering up to 30 amps, which makes it somewhat future proof; 2) Unlike most of the other units, it comes with a three year warranty; 3) It comes in a NEMA 4 weatherproof enclosure (even though I am installing it indoors, I think this provides extra protection); 4) At the time I made my purchase, the cost was $200 less than the comparable charger from Leviton (although Amazon has since raised the price by $150).

Prior to receiving the charger, I read the manual on-line and installed a 40 amp dedicated circuit with a NEMA 6-50 female receptacle into my garage. Since my Nissan Leaf is only capable of accepting up to 16 amps, and since the Siemens charger has an internal adjustment to reduce the draw to 15 amps, I was hoping to have been able to use my existing dryer outlet. However, after speaking with Siemens Technical Support, I learned that the unit requires a dedicated 40 amp circuit regardless. I don't see any need to open the charger and perform the voltage adjustment since the charger that is built into the electric vehicle is capable of regulating the power.

Once the receptacle was installed, mounting the charger was very easy. You must find a stud in the wall capable of holding 20 lbs. A mounting bracket with a built-in template is included. The bracket is mounted to the stud with two lag screws. The charger slips into the bracket and is plugged into the receptacle. Once plugged into the wall the charger has an LED to indicate that power is available. Plug the J1772 connector into the car and charging will begin as indicated by a different LED. A third LED indicates if the charger is in a ready state, such as when it has been plugged in but is set to begin charging at a later time. There is a pause button on the Siemens charger, as well as the ability to delay the charging for 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours. This delay could come in handy if you want to charge at certain times, when the price of electricity is lower, or if you want to wait for your battery to cool down for a couple of hours before charging.

The charger is designed so that the cord wraps around it neatly. I look forward to many years of use for this device.

Great EVSE for our 2013 Nissan Leaf that supports up to a 6.6 kW draw. Car recharges about 24 miles per hour vs 5 mph using Nissan's included 120v trickle charger. A fully depleted battery will recharge to 100% in 4 hours vs 21 with the trickle charger. This makes it great for weekend errand trips throughout the day.

I chose this over the GE for the following reasons:

1) 20' cord vs 16

2) Smaller/Lighter

3) Charge delay feature

I was also pleased that the handle isn't white which will show off dirt over time. It's more of a light gray top with a black bottom.

Minor Con:

The connector is a little tight. You need to give it a good push for it to be properly seated to the connector. I'm hoping this'll get better over time.

Update (5/21/2013)

I have finally received the replacement unit today after calling Siemen every morning.

According to the support they were having back-order problem so couldn't ship the unit until now.

Surprisingly it's brand new but not refurbished, and there are some nice change with the new unit.

I noticed there are few improvement in the newer version I received.

1. The clip on the EVSE Plug has been extended, so it's much easier to plug into the car

2. The hose at the base is also increased in size, so the plug will no longer stuck.

3. In generally, the Versicharge has been modified to make the usage much easier now.

So the product is getting better now, you can expect Nissan Stock EVSE usage experience.

But at the same time, you will still need to keep your Nissan EVSE just in case.

If the unit break, do expect few weeks of going back and forth to receive the replacement unit.

Update (5/15/2013)

Unfortunately, after less than half year the unit breaks.

After a night of charging the unit always has the fault light ON.

Contacting customer support is a nightmare as there is no process handling the problem.

At first I had to be transferred three times before somebody is willing to help.

Then I had to call back everyday for 4 days to finally get a hold of person in charge of Versicharge unit.

He promised me to send me a new unit with return shipping label so they can look at the failure.

However, it's already two weeks and I have not heard anything from them.

I called back again and the process only started from the beginning because I can't reach the Versicharge team.

So it's has been three weeks I am without a LV2 charge, and I still don't have any idea when I'll get the issue fixed.

With the horrible experience, I no longer recommending purchasing the unit.

Original Review (11/5/2012)

When I was first in the market for Level 2 EVSE, this product was not released to public yet.

But after few weeks of disappointment with other unit, I decided to give this a try because of few reasons.

1. 30 Amp of current, more future proof but not as much as 32 Amp of some unit

2. The unit has NEMA 6-50 plug to the Wall Outlet, so it fits my existing installation

3. The J1772 cable is 20 ft long, a bit longer than many standard 18 ft unit

4. The unit has a nice cable management. You can wrap the cable around the unit and place for J1772 plug in.

5. The price was $250 cheaper compare to other brand, but it is no longer true anymore

6. And as nice surprise, the unit actually comes with Wall Mount Bracket so I didn't have to spend extra.

When I received the unit, the product box was opened and damaged because there was no shipping box.

I can see the contain was dropping out of box during shipping and the UPS worker just tape the box again.

The shipping protection could be a lot better, but thankfully the unit still works so I didn't have to return it.

Once installed, I find the J1772 plug to be a bit stiff and hard to plug/unplug, but few trick solves the issue.

First, because the unique design of the J1772 plug, it doesn't go in like the Nissan EVSE unit.

When insert the J1772 plug, you'll need to give small amount of force to the upward dimension.

Without the upward force, the plug goes in but the J1772 won't clip. The charger indicates it's plug in but won't charge.

Second, try apply some oil or Vaseline to the outside ring of the plug, then plug in and out few times.

This can help smooth the plug friction and make unplug a lot easier.

So with the two thing in mind, the unit work very well.

The cable is thin and light, so it is easy to hang around and carry with me.

The included wall Mount Bracket is also easy to install. We just need two screw into the pole to get it right.

The Power cable to the wall is also a bit longer than the other unit, so it's a lot easier to go into outlet as well.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and looks forward to use the unit for a long time.

Have had this charger for about 6 weeks, use it daily and it has worked well. Installation was simple, took about 5 minutes after the electrician had finished wiring the outlet.

The unit is all plastic, but feels solid.

It would be nice if it had a light (LED) on the end of the charge handle to make it easier to see in the dark.

Updated 4/22/13

Five months later I am revising this rating and dropping one star due to lack of support. Recenlty I have had an error show up on the unit, and I have called the manufacturer and been told that a tech will call me back, but 7 days later I am still unable to get a call back. The error only occurs with the car plugged into this charger and not other chargers, and does not happen often, but the total lack of support on an item like this is not acceptable.

The wfco convertor that was in our $80,000.00 dollar coach has been a problem from the very beginning. The wfco went comlpetly out after 3 years. After installing the progressive dynamics 80 amp convertor I could not believe how fast it charged our 6 batteries. We have four large slides and they have never opened and closed so fast since we have owned it. I'm very impressed with progressive dynamics product.

When charging with this device it doesn't allow use of the MiFi at the same time. It will only charge. When using a standard USB converter for a car outlet, you are able to charge and use the device at the same time.

Great product, so far, no problems. Saved tons of mOney from not buying one at a Verizon storE. We will have to see its durability. But it's hard to beat the price.

I had tried standard micro-usb car chargers, and they would not recharge my Novatel Myfi card. Tried this one, and it works. Please with product so far.
