Bosch C05AC0 Removable Charging Clamps for C3 and C7 Battery Review

These are great little clamps for the home user for a battery charger as replacement clamps if you break off (or stupidly accidentally pull off your original clamps as I did). They are designed to give good strain relief if you correctly insert wires and solder, although threading wire can be tricky and clamping it in claws prior to soldering can be a pain. Once correctly fitted they are EXCELLENT and great improvement to most of the small battery terminal clamps I have seen for small household trickle or maintenance type chargers.

I don't know why amazon has this listed for the Rino 5xx series radios they require more power and use a lithium ion recharable pack to get it. This adapter is for the 1xx series radios designed around disposable batteries. YOU NEED A DIFFERENT ADAPTER FOR THE 5XX SERIES THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY FOR THOSE RADIOS. Amazon should know better.

The item is fine. It was the wrong DC adaptor for the Garmin unit purchased. It was listed along the Garmin unit as the correct one for the unit. It was for another Garmin line of products. I'm sure it worked well on the correct product.

It has the straight cord just like the picture, not a coiled cord as description states. Works great.

Bought these for a cross country convoy of a car club. Charged them once and they lasted the entire 1100 mile trip. No complaints. I specifically like that they came with rechargables and a charger that didn't require a base station (portable).

These cobra micro talk radios are perfect for camping or having fun with the kids.

The range is pretty good, not 16 miles but at least 2 miles in the city. My kids love them.

it would be nice if they could add 2 features. #1: and indicator light to let you know that the units are actually charging when they are plugged in. #2: battery level display. I had to call the cust. service number b/c i thought my units weren't charging. When you turn the units on, the LOW BATTERY light shows up for a few seconds which made us think they were low. Come to find out, the little battery light will never show full power. It is just a 'low battery' indicator. A little more details in the instructions about those to things would have been helpful. Other than that, they are perfect for 2 kids (ages 9 and 7) to use while playing spies in the backyard.

These guy's do the job for casual usage. They are inexpensive enough to be considered practically throw aways. That's a good thing, in my case. Easy to use.

These things are great for what I have to do at my job. I work as a parking boy at a nearby picnic ground/waterslides, and I bought these so that I can communicate with the other parking boys when we are on the other side of the field. It has pretty good sound quality (one of them at least, the other one is getting a little raspy) and the transmission is good for about a half-mile in a city (anything more than that and the transmission will be a little choppy), but because my job only requires me to be at most 100 meters away from the other walkie talkie, this does not affect me.

When I took them out of the box, I was surprised on how small they were and I thought that they were kids toys, but I was proven wrong when they worked great as I tested them. A lot of people said that the charger does not work on them, but I have found no problems at all with charging them. All you need to do is plug the charger into the wall, and there will be a split in the cord so that you can charge both at once, you so open up the little plastic cap on the top of the walkie talkie and put one of the charging cords into it. MAKE SURE IT CLICKS IN! There is a little click when you put the cord in, so make sure it clicks or else it will not charge. This might be how the other people had problems with charging, maybe they did not push the charger into the walkie talkie all the way until it clicked.

EDIT: Oh, also the battery cap is a pain and a huge design flaw because once you take it out it is almost impossible to put back in, but I will tell you how. When you go to slide the cap back in, it will not slide regularly because the teeth are laying on the bottom when the holes for the teeth are slightly elevated, and since there is a very sturdy belt clip in the way, it is impossible to slide it regularly in. What you need to do is lift the side of the cap with the teeth forcefully up until they are aligned with the holes, and then push it in. Once you get the hang of this it is very easy to put the cap back on.

This charger is perfect for my children to use for their Sandisk Sansa E-Series MP3 players. I still can't believe they sell for such a low price! I keep thinking that there was a mistake in pricing and that I somehow got away with stealing these at less than $2.00 each. After getting the first one and finding it to work so well, I ordered another one. The shipping cost was three times higher than the cost of the charger itself, but when you add the shipping to the cost of the product itself it is still far cheaper than I could find a Sandisk compatible charger at a local retail store. I am extremely happy with this product and I would highly recommed it to anyone. I just hope it holds up well. It seems to be built well so I feel pretty confident in its lastability.

I purchased this item to be able to let my son charge his mp3 in his room instead of always having to start up the pc for it. Sadly, I'm still in that boat.

This item arrived today, and after plugging it into the wall and having it successfully charge his Sansa, we unplugged it to take it to his room. Upon unplugging it, though, the plastic around the plug eng came apart at the seam. It essentially fell apart in our hands. I'm excedingly disappointed in this order. So I am now in the position to once again having to look for another charger. Save your money and avoid this one. It's junk.

On a recent trip overseas, we used this item for a week. I had my doubts about my wife plugging in her curling iron into it and blowing the fuse, so I took a couple of spares just in case.To my surprise, it never came close to being overpowered! Glad that I took spares anyway!

Even though it was a bit heavy, it did not make much of a difference in the suitcase with as much stuff as we crammed in there!

I did take a multi plug adapter so I could hook up all the remaining cell phone & camera chargers at night to the device. Worked great.

Very heavy to shlep around 4 countries in 17 days.

Worked well with my laptop, cell phone charger and camera charger,

But, I think I could have used an international travel adapter supplied

by AAA for $13.

This gadget cost around $20 and fast shipping an extra $40, so that's $60

I was real excited about this product, and while I hate to say negative things, it is actually better for the environment if I post a negative review and less people buy, then return, the item. So, here are my thoughts:

The good:

-Obviously the solar panel is cool (see my notes below in the bad section though)

-Like that the case is made from recycled materials

-It comes with a free bag (which you have to order online from the manufacturer after you receive the case)

-HDMI out is awesome

-USB charging port is a plus

-Love that it has a smart cover feature to turn the ipad on/off

-Seems protective of the ipad, with perfect openings to access volume, power, camera.

The bad:

-It is HEAVY. Someone today told me their laptop is lighter. They were probably exaggerating, but not by much. This thing has some weight and lugging it around, or simply holding it in your hand, can get tiring.

-The retractable stainless steel leg stands, which you need to extend in order to have your case on a comfortable angle while viewing the ipad, are VERY DIFFICULT TO EXTEND WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF A SHARP OBJECT. This was a deal breaker for me and the reason I am returning the case. I called the manufacturer, and they basically admitted the design flaw, with the customer service rep telling me he has to use a pen to retract the legs. Wow, major screw up there. I don't have a pen with me most of the times I want to use the ipad, and you absolutely need something like that to get the legs out. Bummer.

-The whistle locator is a great idea, but it doesn't work well. The case beeps at the sounds of things other than the whistle (e.g. my dog barking) and it only seems to beep when I whistle about 1/4 of the time, and only then if I am close to the ipad. Not really functional.

-The solar panel is so small that it really doesn't do much other than make you feel green. The instructions say you still have to plug the case in to charge it. Seems to defeat the purpose to me.

All in all, this is a "good" case, but for the steep price tag, it needs to be better than good. Lighter, more functional, with better viewing angles would get it there.

UPDATE: I've now had the case for one week. Using the iPad about 3-4 hours a day, the charge on the case's internal battery kept me going for about 2.5 days before the iPad started to drain power. This is nowhere near the manufacturer's claim (and I did fully cycle the battery the first time per the instructions). I am convinced the solar panel basically does nothing. The iPad sat in its case in direct sun today for about 45 minutes and the iPad charge did not go up at all, not even 1%!!! And now, the worst of all, my iPad (it is an iPad 2) will not lock into the case anymore, so even though I have recharged my case (by plugging it in), the iPad isn't benefiting from that at all when docked in the case. Really disappointed and it goes back on Monday.

The Kudo case is worth the money. It may not last 2 full weeks, but it does extend the use to at least a week without needing a recharge. It is perfect for those of us on the go and in meetings all day. The USB ability to charge your iphone off the case sold me immediately. I could care about the whistle as i dont intend on being that far away from my ipad. The legs are a tad tough to pull out but they do get easier to pull out over time. For the price of a standard case, a battery backup and hdmi out cables, this thing puts it all in one package. Totally cool and useful product.

When I first discovered this case I was excited. So I waited a week to get to my house and carefully read the single page instructions. A note the card is very limited and unfortunately they did not include the correct first time charging instructions in their single page instructions which can be found on their web site which ready:

1) First charge. Remove the iPad from the KudoCase and Charge each independently.

2) When charging with no iPad you will notice a blinking GREEN light on your Kudo® Case.

3) Once the light turns into a solid green the KudoCase is fully charged and you can insert your iPad and use as normal. *PLEASE NOTE THIS MAY TAKE SEVERAL HOURS (UPWARDS OF 8-10 DEPENDING ON BATTERY LEVEL) TO FULLY CHARGE. EVEN IF AFTER THAT AMOUNT OF TIME THE GREEN LIGHT IS STILL ILLUMINATED PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE NEXT STEP.

4) Via NORMAL iPAD use, operate until you see the RED light beginning to blink, then REPEAT the steps above. *IT IS CRITICAL TO FULLY DEPLETE THE KUDO BATTERY AND THEN CHARGE BOTH AGAIN SEPARATELY TO COMPLETE THE CYCLING PROCESS - Congratulations, you have now "spanked" or cycled your battery!

5) From now on you can charge the KudoCase® and iPad(tm) as instructed on the enclosed Instruction Card.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN iPAD 2, THE BATTERY IN YOUR KudoCase COULD ALSO BE IN NEED OF A GOOD OL' "SPANKING" AS WELL , SO DON'T BE SHY

Honesty it does not work as well as I hoped. I am putting it through the paces as I type. It seems to want to keep the ipad 3 charged at 100% all the time, even when the ipad is in sleep mode from the magnetic lock. The internal lithium battery still "trickle" charges the ipad even in sleep mode. Which kind of negates the idea of having a battery back up to extend battery life. It trickle charges all the time. So the iPad case lasts about 1-2 days and the it is dead, but your ipad is 100% charged, whatever that does for you. I use my ipad very heavily that I end up charging my ipad from +/-10% at the end of a day or two. The case is extremely heavy for a case at 1.7 pounds. So that now makes your ipad about the weight of a full fledged laptop. Also knowing that the case constantly charges whether in sleep mode or not hich makes the use of the external USB port not usable if the case's internal battery dies so quickly or always in use. This is even with my screen set to between 30%-50% brightness.

So traveling I let it sit in direct sunlight for about 3 hrs and the battery level never changed. It stayed at 3 blue pips, 4 blue pips indicates that the battery if fully charged. Discovering that the Kudos case constantly wants to keep your ipad charged at 100%. I assumed that if I turned off the ipad it would it would give the battery a chance to charge. It still stayed at 3 blue pips, after sitting in the sun for 3 hrs. All in all, I have to say that my ipad lasts roughly a day longer with the case then without it. Though, the HDMI feature is nice, but not really worth the added weight and the external USB port is kind of pointless of the battery won't keep it's charge or charge by the solar panel. Also, to keep in mind with since the ipad 3 is slightly thicker then ipad 2 it take a little effort to get the ipad 3 into the case but it will fit.

Overall idea is awesome that is it made from post recycled products and they give you a free case when you visit their website as long as you are willing to pay for shipping and handling with is about $6 bucks and they will plant a tree for you, but for what the product is claiming to do, it does not seem to make it. Maybe they will release a second generation that might vastly improve.

Honest reviews on Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - Black

Shocked I have to charge it all the time to make it work, whistle is effectively useless, LED indicator doesn't work at all, plug to charge it only works if it is half way in and even then shuts off all the time, very much heavier than expected, solar doesn't seem to do anything, but appears cool.

In summary, the QC on this needs to be worked out, as well as other issues. Will return tomorrow.

I bought this case and with I the first month I was having charging issues. The Solar panel does not work at all. I left the case in direct sunlight for about 8.5 hours while I was at work. Not even one extra light of charge. The port on the bottom to plug the case into the wall is not very sturdy and I can't even charge the case via plug-in anymore. It took me two weeks to receive a return authorization for the Kudo company. And the case has been delivered for over two weeks now and they will not even answer my request for an update on the status of my return. Horrible company!!! Do not waste your time or money. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the case does provide a little protection for your iPad.

I have purchased, used and tested every lightweight solar charging device on the market that I could find. The Goal0 nomad 7 and Guide 10 set is the only one that works sufficiently that I can be completely off the grid with my backpacking devices and have no need for extra batteries. See below for solar panels tested. I have been testing portable solar panels for several years now, and the Goal 0 products are the best.

The Nomad 7 is the only solar panel that has the capability to charge an adequate battery pack, my headlamp AAA's, AND my smartphone/GPS all in the same day in full sunlight. It is the only panel that has reserve capacity to charge my devices in less than full sun (shady/cloudy). No other panel has the output of the Nomad 7. Its closest competitor is the Brunton panel. The Brunton weighs 20% more and is rated to output 30% less than the Nomad 7 (Brunton = 5 watts, Nomad 7 = 7 watts). In my testing the lower output was verified. The off-axis performance of the Nomad 7 is superior. It maintains full output to a greater angle of sun than any other panel I have tested. The Nomad 7 is the only panel, in my knowledge, that uses the more efficient mono-crystalline panels. It does seem to give it an edge in real-world usage. As far as flexibility, that characteristic has nothing to do with panel efficiency. Another of the well-thought out features of the Nomad 7 is the connection options. The Xpal SP-2000 and the Solio both rely on many different tips to connect to different devices. The Nomad 7 has three great options built in: 6.5 volt fast charge for the Guide 10 charger, 5 V USB connector, and a port that the included 12V female car lighter adapter plugs into. Every portable device has the option of an inexpensive car power adapter, and the Nomad 7 nicely offers that ability.

The Guide 10 charger works to its rated specifications, unlike most of the other solar devices I have used. It charges AA and AAA batteries. It charges them faster with the Nomad 7 than any other solar panel/charger combination that I have tested. The Goal 0 batteries that ship with the Guide 10 are the best of their type I have tested. They are low-discharge, like the Eneloops, but much better. The Eneloops are rated at 2000 mAh, but charge only to about 1900 mAh capacity. The Goal 0 are rated at 2000 mAh, but charge to 2200 mAh. The guide 10 has some very well thought out features, including the LED flashlight, the function switch and the built-in hanging loop. These touches all demonstrate that the designers are users, and thought well about how these devices would be used.

All is not perfect, though. The Guide 10 does have an overheating problem, but only in very strong sunlight and under certain conditions. This is a known issue that is being fixed as I write this. This brings me to one of my most important experiences; customer service. Goal 0 has the best customer service by far than any other of the solar panel manufacturers I have tested in this group. Immediate phone contact, responsiveness to questions and warranty service are far and away some of the best I have experienced.

Following is a list of the solar panels I have tested, and short comparison comments on each.

1. Powerfilm USB + AA: This one has a great form factor, is flexible and very durable, and is the lightest weight and most compact of all the solar chargers. Its fatal flaw is that it simply does not put out enough power to be practical in extended backpacking. It does not fully charge the AA batteries when it indicates a full charge, and is not nearly as flexible as the Nomad 7 for connection. The unit was replaced on warranty, but the replacement performed exactly the same. I tested a total of four of these, and all performed the same. Customer service was good, after spending weeks trying to get their attention, and this happened several times.

2. Solio Classic: This one has a nice form factor, but the unit simply does not charge its internal battery nor a connected device at all adequately. Just in case, I had it replaced on warranty and the replacement performed exactly the same.

3. Xpal Power SP-2000: Same as the Solio. Internal battery rated at 2000 mAh, only charges to about 1100-1300. Not enough power overall to be practical. Very good customer service.

4. Brunton Explorer: A good panel, but not enough overall power. Weighs 20% more than the Nomad 7, output is 30% less.

I was very skeptical about purchasing this solar charger after reading the reviews.

I was going to take it on a 14 day back country hunting trip and needed some was to charge my android phone as I use it as a camera, GPS and alarm clock. I took this item in the mountains and on a nice sunny 60 degree day I hung it up on a small pine tree and occasionally adjusted it to be at the best angle to the sun and it charged my phone in just a little over 2 hours. I also charged my dads phone and the battery pack from Goal0 as well.

I love this solar charger and feel strongly enough about it I decided to write a review as I was extremely skeptical..

Great product!!

Best Deals for Goal Zero 19006 Guide 10 Adventure Kit with 4 Goal Zero AA Batteries

There was a bad run of the power packs that would heat up and melt. GoalZero has corrected the problem months ago and sent out new power packs that are labeled "GUIDE 10 PLUS" in the indention below where it says GoalZero. The old defective power packs just say "GoalZero" with nothing in the endintion. The word !PULS! tells you that you have the re engineered power pack. Amazon's stock of GoalZero products are the old defective power pack that will heat up and melt. I ordered one on January 20, 2012 and got the bad power pack. After talking with customer service, it is evident that the old stock will be shipped until it is exhausted. They were very helpful in refunding my money without requiring the product be returned. Make your purchase from Amazon THROUGH one of the other sellers listed on the right. I contacted Blue Kangaroos and they are aware of the problem and HAVE the new power pack ready for shipment.

Update 2/3/2012:I have both the old and the new power packs now and have additional information. I was told by GoalZero Tech Support that some of the old power packs, the ones that DO NOT have the word "Plus" on the label, were modified before shipping and will not heat up. The only way to know if yours has been modified is the pry the end cap off of the Power pack. The end cap that covers the plugs and LED. Just take a small screw driver, put it in the grove and twist, it will come off. Behind the LED there are three large resistors [the large gray round things with color bands on them]. If none of the color bands are BLACK, this power pack has been modified and WILL NOT heat up. I have verified this. Mine has no black bands and does not heat up. GoalZero will still send you a new power pack and batteries if you request it. There is a slight functional difference between the Old and New power packs. The "Old" will charge devices through the USB port at about a 300ma higher rate than the New "Plus" power pack and will charge the batteries a little faster. This is because the old Power Packs have the Data+ and Datalines connected together which tells most devices to accept charging at a higher rate.

The two panels put out plenty of 12 volt DC to charge the batteries, however the unit holding the batteries melted so severely that it only blinks slow red. This means that the batteries are charging so according to the melted battery holder it is charging and the batteries never take the charge. I followed their directions and placed the device on my patio table outside in the sun. The temp never exceeded 95F degrees. When I opened the black nylon envelope that holds the batteries the charger was melted. So far customer service at Goal 0 is non existent. Look on their website they fully understand that the units melt. Do not buy one of these or you will be sorry. The ones that do not melt are due out July 2011.

CLINT at Goal Zero just so you fully understand, I called and left a message at the number you listed and I have yet, almost a year later, to receive a reply from anyone at Goal ZERO. I did reach a "real person" after numerous calls and he took my name, phone number, address, and serial number information of the melted unit. This all took place in June of 2011. TO DATE I have not received any replacement. I would suggest that you change your name to goal ZERO to indicate the total amount of "AMAZING" (your words not mine) product support your company and employees lavish on your customers. At this point just forget it the total lack of AMAZING customer service is really amazing. I will not buy another goal ZERO product and will just count this as a loss of $100. If you want to buy a product from a company with ZERO customer support, do so at your own risk. I will post a You Tube video of the melted unit under goal ZERO shortly.

The wife and I took a vacation recently, and knowing that we would be on the road for about two weeks, I started looking for a car charger for our phones. Here's the best part, besides the price, which was unbeatable . . . This charger not only fit both of our phones, it fit both of our Kindles, our bluetooths, and the "hotspot" that we used with our laptop! And it did this for about $12 and that included shipping. Verizon wanted $30 for the same item.

This product does what it says. If you prefer not to mount your TomTom on the windshield, this is a good, but not great alternative. With the anchor installed, it is stable and solid on the dashboard (I use it in a Toyota FJ Cruiser which has a very flat dashboard), however you must attach the windshield mount of your TomTom to the smooth plate in the centre of the U-shaped area that provide weight to the part. The windshield mount for my TomTom GO 630 is relatively short which means, when mounted on the dashboard plate, positions the TomTom very low.

If you can get ahold of a windshield mount for your TomTom with a longer stem this dash mount would be perfect.

For years I have searched for a full sized wheeled battery charger with digital controls and smart charging of all types of batteries! This charger is it! I had a gel cell battery in one of my cars that was completely dead. This charger brought the battery back to life in a controlled way as not to damage the battery! Controls are easy to use and give digital accuracy for volts and amps! Fantastic unit! Shipping was super fast truly a superb all around experience!

Replaced the Battery on my Triumph Bonneville 2009 EFI. This is the exact same as came stock. And it cranks nicely! I didn't even realize that my previous battery wasn't cranking so great until I replaced it.

From what I hear when they switched to EFI from carbs the battery got smaller to make room for the ECU. So every Bonnie, Scrambler, and Thruxton from 2009,2010 and possibly 2011 have this (smaller) battery YT12B-BS.

I hear that they increased the size on the 2012 and some of the 2011... to the standard 12-BS instead of the 12B-BS.

Almost every website (i'm looking at you amazon!)has this info wrong and assumes that '09,'10 have the same battery as previous years and the current year. Including the Yuasa US website!!!

Initially thought that I would not know what to do with adding the acid, but it was really easy. The battery came dry and all you have to do is follow instructions to add the acid. It was very safe to perform and after sealing it I waited a few minutes and installed the battery right away. I have a 2004 Yamaha FZ 6 and it started on my first try. Excellent product and I'm pleased with the purchase.

Very impressed. Unit it heavier than my Powermaster but has five more charging amps and does not have a cooling fan.

If you need to charge between rounds when time is short, you may want to opt for this one. I purchased this one through

Amazon and it arrived in three days. It was also much cheaper than any other place I found them.

IN THE END WITH JUST A LITTLE WORK TO REMOVE THE CLAMPS AND DO WHAT i HAVE DONE WORKED OUT ,tHANK u

Charges at very slow rate, would not recommend for racing where you have very quick turnaround's, (ie) Drag racing without Alt.

This was a great deal on the 16 volt battery charger. It was a savings of over one hundred dollars over the last one I bought!Fast delivery as well .I couldn't be more pleased unless Tony Schumacher himself came over an charged my batteries.
