Bosch C05AC0 Removable Charging Clamps for C3 and C7 Battery Review
These are great little clamps for the home user for a battery charger as replacement clamps if you break off (or stupidly accidentally pull off your original clamps as I did). They are designed to give good strain relief if you correctly insert wires and solder, although threading wire can be tricky and clamping it in claws prior to soldering can be a pain. Once correctly fitted they are EXCELLENT and great improvement to most of the small battery terminal clamps I have seen for small household trickle or maintenance type chargers.

Reviews of Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter for iPod with Dock Connector (Black)
Strengths: All-in-one solution for docking, charging, and FM transmission; adaptable to all iPods and vehicles; versatile FM tuning options
Weaknesses: Sound quality issues typical of FM transmitters; no auxiliary audio input or output
Let's face it: using your iPod in your vehicle just isn't as simple as it should be. Unless you're driving a 2006 model year or later vehicle, chances are that your vehicle's stereo head unit doesn't provide any easy way for you to connect your iPod (or any other digital music player, for that matter). That means that you only have three options for listening to your iPod through your vehicle's stereo: direct connection to your head unit via an auxiliary input, a cassette tape adapter, or an FM transmitter. Most automobiles don't offer an auxiliary input jack on the front of their receivers, and connecting your iPod to a rear aux input--if your unit even has one, that is--is a complicated process that involves removing your receiver and (sometimes) part of your dashboard as well. So even though this setup offers the best sound quality, installation can prove difficult...or impossible. On the other hand, cassette tape adapters provide a far simpler and good-sounding method to connect your player, but they only work if your vehicle has a cassette player. So if neither of the above solutions are an option for you, then you have to begin considering either (1) purchasing an aftermarket, iPod-friendly head unit or (2) looking for an FM transmitter, and that's where the Belkin TuneBase FM for iPod comes into the picture.
If you decide to go the FM transmission route, you really can't lose with the TuneBase FM. Not only does it transmit the audio output from your iPod to an FM frequency you select, but it also provides a convenient dock for your iPod that even charges your iPod while it's in use. Many all-in-one solutions such as this are poor performers all around, but the TuneBase FM fulfills all of its duties superbly.
It goes without saying that the most important element of the TuneBase FM's performance is sound quality. After all, it doesn't do much good to dock and charge your iPod in the car if you can't listen to your music. As FM transmitters go, the TuneBase FM does an admirably good job getting audio output from your iPod to your vehicle's stereo, but it is plagued by the same sound quality issues that affect all FM transmitters. I live in an area that has a pretty crowd frequency spectrum; there are only a few frequencies that are relatively free of other transmissions. Despite this, however, the TuneBase FM still manages to transmit a clear audio signal to my receiver most of the time, although static can be a problem from time to time. I commute almost forty miles one way to work everyday, and I rarely have to switch frequencies, which is pretty impressive. Your results may vary depending on how crowded the airwaves are in your region. Compared to my last FM transmitter, a highly-rated iRock! BeamIt model, the TuneBase FM transmits a slightly clearer and more powerful signal. You won't get a much better FM signal from any other FM transmitter.
The TuneBase FM's other features are what really make it stand out from the rest of the crowd. Its docking solution, utilizing a flexible steel "neck" to support the cradle, is much more elegant, flexible, and pleasing to the eye than other solutions that use a series of thick, jointed plastic connectors. This allows you to position your iPod just about any way you please, and it also virtually guarantees that this dock is adjustable to fit just about any vehicle on the road. The dock is secured by inserting the base into a free power or cigarette lighter outlet, which is also how the device receives power for charging the iPod. Included in the box are plastic and rubber outlet adapters to ensure a snug fit in just about any outlet, and this seems to work quite well; even over bumpy roads or terrain, my iPod remains firmly upright in its cradle. It would be nice if the adjustable neck were just a couple inches longer (this unit includes a four-inch neck, the TuneBase FM for iPod nano includes a seven-inch neck), but a longer neck would likely be too flimsy to support heavier iPods such as the 60GB and new 80GB 5G video iPods.
The TuneBase FM automatically pauses and powers down a docked iPod when it the power supply to the device is interrupted, and it powers up the iPod and resumes playback when power is restored. One note about this: there is no on/off switch on the device, so it remains powered as long as the vehicle's power outlet is powered. If your vehicle's power outlets deactivate when you remove the key from the ignition, then this is not an issue. However, if your vehicle (like mine) powers your outlet(s) continually (even when the vehicle is off and the key is removed from the ignition), you need to remember to manually turn off your iPod when exiting your car or risk draining your car's battery.
Tuning to different radio frequencies with the TuneBase is a simple exercise. The device interfaces with the iPod through its dock connector, so it is able to display frequency and present information on the iPod's own display, which is much easier to read than a separate LCD readout. Tuning options are very flexible. In addition to four presets (which, if you sync with the presents on your vehicle's receiver, makes channel-hopping a breeze), the TuneBase FM allows you to to any frequency from 87.9 to 107.9, including broadcast-free even-numbered frequencies such as 88.8, 96.2, etc.
I only have a few minor complaints about the TuneBase FM for iPod. As I mentioned earlier, there is no on/off switch to accommodate vehicles with continually-powered outlets and cigarette lighters. I haven't experienced any difficulties with leaving my TuneBase plugged in for extended periods of time as long as I manually power down or remove my iPod, but it's an unnecessary extra step that I shouldn't have to take. It's also unfortunate that Belkin does not include auxiliary input and output jacks for direct connection to supported receivers or the ability to use the TuneBase for other digital media players and not just iPods. There's even a spot on the cradle specifically for an auxiliary jack; Belkin just decided not to include it with this model. That's really too bad, as I would have been more than willing to pay an extra five dollars or so for the added functionality of an auxiliary jack.
Overall, however, the TuneBase FM for iPod is an excellent product. If you have decided that FM transmission is your only option for in-car iPod connectivity, then this product is definitely worth considering and will perform admirably.
There are drawbacks to keep in mind: like all FM tuners, you will hear static if you are getting signal interference. This is going to be an issue if you tend to drive in areas with heavy airwaves. This was a problem I had with previous solutions but is less of an issue since the frequencies are not hardcoded into the device and can be reset manually. It can be a little work to find a clean frequency, but that's just the nature of FM tuners.
I had originally considered finding some direct input solution for my iPod but found that it would be impractical for my car as far as the investment of dollars and work went. Seeing as how my car is about three years old, most solutions involve either replacing the stereo or actually going in and messing with the wiring in my car. I got the Tunebase as an interim solution but I am so satisfied with it I think I'm just going to use it for as long as I have this car.
Sound quality is great. It holds your iPod quite securely. You can position your player where it is most convenient and visible!
I have two complaints:
1. As high volume, you can hear the electronic whine of the charger. This is unavoidable but less at lower frequencies. It may not be noticeable with some music but I am an audio-book listener so I can hear it.
2. The controls are little limiting and awkward. Adjusting the transmit volume, which you admittedly do only once, is quite awkward requiring you hold the unit, hold two buttons down while pressing a third. However, selecting a different station is very easy and one-handed.
Overall, I am quite please with this and recommend it.
My fiance & I recently purchased a 30GB Video iPod and wanted to get something so we can listen to it in my 04 Accord and her 04 Cavalier. We agreed getting a radio transmitter was the best idea since we could switch it between cars when we wanted. We got this Belkin product from a local retailer for a relatively good price.
The flexible arm was nice, we could maneuver the iPod to face us and still be within reach to skip songs or change playlists. It also displayed the station we were using on the iPod itself, instead of on the Belkin device, this too was a pretty neat feature.
But from there on out, it's all downhill. We found an empty radio station in our suburb of Chicago, 88.3, and used it. The sound was ok, but I had to turn my radio up pretty loud in order to hear it. With that came a lot of static and high pitched whirring noise that was actually a little louder than the music itself. I didn't notice the noise / static too much when we listened to pop, rock, or R&B but when Classical or Vocal music played, you'd hear static instead of silence. Also, as we'd accelerate the noise would worsen!
We got used to the static and said, we'll deal with it. However, we drove into the city recently and experienced a plethora of other problems. As we'd drive on the highway, someone would pass us. Coincidentally some of them had radio transmitters on the same station as us. We'd hear their music crystal clear as if it was being played in our CD player. After they passed us, we'd go back to our staticy sound.
A little later on, the static starting getting overwhelming and it turned out there was a weak broadcast on that station in the city, so we switched to a different empty station 88.1, and we still couldn't hear. So we tried another, and another... we didn't hear any music for the rest of our day. NO station worked.
On the way home we stopped at my fiance's parent's house, and they said we should try their DLO Transpod. We plugged it in and tried 87.9 (which they recommended) and it was crystal clear. We decided to try 88.1 and 88.3 too since they were what we used earlier that day. As expected, they worked perfectly. I've now driven for days with this new device all over the suburbs and in the city. It's like night and day compared to the Belkin device. We are returning ours today.
To sum it up, FM transmitters are rather expensive and an imperfect solution to the iPod / car issue. But if you're gonna shell out your money on a device, you expect it to work. On top of that, you don't just expect it to work "ok", you expect it to work great. The Belkin achieved a nice sleek design and ease of use, but beyond that the product is worthless. DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE!

This is an excellent FM tuner solution. Unlike other FM tuners I have used, the frequencies you can use are not preset and can be reset on the fly. I have owned the itrip, which was convienient, because you could take it anywhere (being cordless) and play it on any radio. But the sound was absolutly awful, and it drained the baterry. Then I bought the Transpod, which was an improvement, b/c the sound was a little better, and it charged the ipod. However, It was ugly as junk. Anddd after just a month of owning it, it broke. All It did was sit in my car. You can tell it is very cheap. So now I bought the belkin tunebase fm...ANDDDDD......This thing is amazing. The sound is serously BETTER then a cd quality (if you beleive that) I serously have never heard the bass in my car hit so sharply. It also charges it, and the tunebase is pretty small and holds the ipod without any ugly cords. You need to find a station that doesnt have reception for it to come in perfectly clear, and at times I do notice the ringing noise the other reviewer mentions, but I rarely notice it. I give the itrip 2 stars, the transpod 3, and this thing 5 stars by far. I don't know how it compares to the other new fm transmitters, but compared to the older ones, it is in another league. I highly recommend it.

I used to be a big APC fan, but over the years I have had all kinds of problems with them not behaving well after a battery change. They don't even like the batteries purchased from APC.
I wanted something to use with my computers that did not require specific batteries.Tripp Lite APS1250 1250W 12V DC to AC Inverter with Automatic Line-to-Battery 30-Amp Charger
This product worked out great because I just picked up a couple of Marine Deep Cycle Wet batteries (approx $60 ea) used some cables I had around (#2 Battery cables from auto parts store work great) Just get short ones with two eyes for the connections between batteries (wingnut on bolt connections on most deep cycles) and one longer one to cut in 1/2 and use for both connections to the APS.
The APS takes a 5.5mm allen wrench to tighten the connections, I had to cut the plastic around the outlets a little to get my power strip to plug in directly.
A large (8D) battery box will hold up to 3 size 24 batteries, so I am going to pick up one of those this week.
This unit does not have the B series of DIP switches.
This unit also initially charged the batteries at 50A and then dropped down as they took a surface charge.
The transfer to UPS is seamless when unplugging from the wall for testing.
No flicker or anything on any of the computers.
I am running two computers (+LCDS, Drives, etc) one with a 1000W DA1000 SilverStone DA1000 1000W ATX 12V 2.2 and EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply Retailthe other with a really old 350W supply.
I also have 5 SATA drives in the desktop.
The desktop really only drew 25A on a bootup on battery which = 300W, the constant draw on the batteries with both systems in active mode is 24A The load also includes UVerse box, 8 port switch, two external drives, usb hub, phones, etc.
Am very pleased to retire my SU1000, my SU700R, and my SU420NET upses as well as the various BK500s in my office for this one, much more efficient unit.
When I do some AC testing for how the unit performs from a generator, I will add to my review.

I have installed this along with an AGM battery as a power back-up for my sump pump. It had no trouble starting my 1/3rd hp pump. A good feature is the "charge only" mode that allows you to shut the inverter down when not needed (the winter months in my case), thus preserving the battery. It also has a setting for the type of battery being used (wet cell or glass-mat). I bought one of these to provide uninterrupted power to my computer, internet and a NAS. The device failed less than two months after the 1 year warranty had expired. It no longer charges my batteries and says it's over loaded, even when nothing is plugged in. this is a great all-in-one solution for battery-based off-the-grid power. I spent a lot of time researching chargers and inverters and which ones I should combine before I found this, which does both easier and much cheaper for comparable performance.my only suggestion would be for them to add a couple of fused terminals for direct DC power that could be shut off when the voltage is too low, but we can't have everything I guess.
UPDATE: after about 3 years of light summer usage, this thing up and completely quit on me. no power, nothing. it was nice while it lasted, but far too much to spend on something that is just going to fail after a while.

I have been spoiled with APC UPSes because they are cheap sine-wave inverters. I hooked a scope up to this thing, and the garbage that comes out is not even relatively clean power. It has spikes in it and all of my downstream UPSes don't even recognize the output of this as real AC power. I really wanted to like this device, and all of my decent UPSes use 24 volts, but I wanted a 12 volt UPS. I will attempt to post the waveforms on the product page. I did quite a bit of searching before finding this product. The installation went well and the performace is great. The only complaint I would have is that the screw posts are too close to the center post so you can't use a socket on it. And when it's in a tight spot that makes it difficult to get the nuts tighted down. Otherwise a great product.

Thanks to Capt. Steve Hall of Sarasota FL, I was introduced to the Battery Tender connector. I looked around but found nothing that came close in design and product quality. This product is simple to install, well made, and an absolute necessity if you have a larger trolling motor.I blew 4 marinco plugs and 2 sockets and was about to hardwire my trolling motor when I ran across this connector. It is well built, and made to handle larger guage wire that is needed for a big trolling motor.
I have a 24v 80lb thrust Minnkota, and every other trip I had some type of connection problem. I have 4ga wire running from the battery, with a 60a breaker. Overkill, but I run in wind and being able to troll in the flats requires running at 100% a lot of the time...
I'm thrilled to not have to mess with the connectors anymore!

I was rewiring my boat for 24v and found that 99% of the available options are only rated at 50 amps. Since I went to the trouble of upsizing all wiring to handle 60 amps, I didn't want the weak link in the system to be the connector. Like many iPod users, I wanted a way to make listening to and charging my iPod in the car easier. The iSimple IS75 adapter makes this possible in any car with a stereo that can support an AUX input via RCA jacks. (If you aren't sure, check your owner's manual or look up your car and "AUX input" online before purchasing this, and note that some otherwise compatible radios may require additional adapters.)
The adapter consists of a small molded plastic block with a permanently attached RCA-type patch cord for connection to your stereo, a pair of power wires for connecting to your car's electrical system if you want to be able to charge your iPod/iPhone, a longish (perhaps 6 feet) cord with an Apple interface plug to connect to your device, and an equally long cord with a generic stereo mini-plug to connect any device with a headphone jack.
Installing the adapter was straightforward: plugging in the two RCA plugs was all that was required to make the sound connection. If you want to charge your iPod/iPhone, you will also have to connect the adapter to an available power source in your dashboard.
Playback is easy and provides MUCH better sound quality than FM modulators or similar adaptors. Using the iPod interface plug means you don't have to worry about fiddling with the volume on both the iPod and the car stereo to get the best quality: just use the car's volume control as usual. The charging capability is a huge benefit, and this adapter is one of the few out there that can charge all generations of dockable iPods and iPhones. Many newer Apple devices will not charge from older adapters that use a different charging standard.
The only reason I gave the IS-75 4 stars instead of 5 relates to the otherwise great charging capability. Using the charging feature can also introduce background noise caused by electrical interference. I easily remedied this by plugging in a "ground loop isolator" between the IS-75 and my stereo. Had the IS-75 built-in this easily forseeable and commonly required feature, it would have been perfect.

This great little cable system does more than the original picture and description might indicate. I uploaded a new picture to help show this.This item includes both L/R RCA male plugs as shown PLUS a 3.5mm male stereo plug. The 3.5mm is typically what you want for cars that have an AUX input jack.
This item also includes 12V and GND wires for power to charge your i-device. Nice here is that you don't need a separate charger connector everything passes through the i-device dock connector. To install for power, just access some kind of accessory power that is switched on when the ignition or the stereo is on. I used the 12V power plug in the dash of my wife's 2008 Honda Odyssey. Just remove the center console and gently splice the kit's two wires into those 12V and GND wires feeding the power plug, and you're good. Takes 30 minutes or less with a screwdriver, sharp utility knife, and electrical tape (I also soldered the connections for better electrical and mechanical contact).
There was also plenty of cable in my installation to pass the i-device dock connector through one of the console compartments, and the 3.5mm plug under the bottom of the console, where it can easily be plugged into the Odyssey's stereo AUX input jack when needed.
Audio quality is great, it charges nicely (iPads, too) and no funny warning messages in your i-device when you connect like I've seen in the past with this thing in my old 2005 Honda CRV: USA-Spec PA15-HON2 Honda to iPod Interface. Sweet.

Bought this cable to interface with my Kenwood KDC-MP4028 HU and CA-C1AUX adapter. I am using with a 3rd generation iPod Touch. Installation was very easy. I didn't have any problems with ground loops. Since I integrated my deck to the factory harness, I have no idea where the actual ground connection is on the vehicle chassis, so I did the next best thing, I grounded the IS75 to the radio itself. The ground wire on the IS75 has a ring on it already, so I just took a screw out of the radio chassis and replaced it with the ring underneath. The power wire is spliced into the same switched power wire to the radio, so that the iPod only charges when the car is on.Sound quality is very good, with no engine whine. I also no longer have to worry about scratched CD's, or carrying a CD wallet in the car.
The cable is long enough so that routing is not an issue. My deck is high on the dash, and I ran it all the way to the floor and still have 3 feet to work with.
The dock conector has locking pins, so it won't become disconnected accidentally. Press the buttons on both sides to release.

This is my 2nd cable that has gone out in exactly a year! The cables suffer from poor quality and my left channel went out on both of the cables, on the 1/8th jack and also the 30 pin, although not at the same time (I guess that's a good thing?) Plus the 30 pin connector is way oversized, probably designed this way to have a longer life in the car, however only fits with ONE iPhone 4S case that I have used. The directions are not exactly clear.... while you can work your way through them they will definitely need to be read a couple of times.

Paired with my iPhone I held down the multifunction key (which is the button with the phone on it) for abut 5-10 seconds when the power was off in order to get it into pairing mode.
You do have to be careful, since the buttons are a bit touchy. A couple of times I accidentally pushed the button and called someone.
The buttons do have other functionality in addition to volume control they can help you select the person you are calling.
Final Verdict While it may not look fancy the Avoi Wireless Speakerphone provides a nice hands free option for your vehicle.

Car CHARGER FOR SONY ERICSSON WALKMAN W760 W760a Review
For such a low price we got two so we could have one for each car. At first we could not get either one to plug in to either of our two SE W760a phones. They appeared to fit, but would not plug all the way into the phone's charging port, and we did not want to exert the extraordinary force it would have taken to push the plug in farther. We have used various headsets, wall chargers and USB cables with our two phones and we know how much force it should normally take, and what this plug seemed to require was clearly excessive. And we also know how fragile this phone's charging ports are, and how vulnerable they are to breakage over time from just normal use (I have already had to repair mine with a soldering iron). I felt like I should return them, but quickly realized that we paid more for postage than the item itself, and unlike Amazon items, postage is not refundable from this source, so it would have cost more to ship them back than the refund amount.
Upon further inspection, however, it appeared to me that the little plastic loop clips that hold the plug in the socket are stiffer and more resistant to being pinched the way they would normally work than the others I have used, perhaps due to being made slightly thicker or with less flexible material. In any case, what I did to solve the problem was to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to gently pinch the plastic clips in the middle (more towards their base, not tip) to exercise them and flatten them slightly, doing this about 20 times so that the two sides would barely touch, while being careful not to crush the rounded tip. After this, the plug went into the phone without too much force and seems to stay plugged in. Whether this will be a permanent or adequate fix remains to be seen, but I thought I would pass this along as a suggestion for anyone who runs into the same issue and may want to try this as a possible solution. It seems to work for me, at least for now, but I can't guarantee it will work for you. I have also considered cutting one side of the plastic loop clip all the way through near its base to allow it to flex more near the tip that plugs into the phone, but chose to try this less drastic measure first, and save that as a backup plan.

Reviews of Battery Replacement Kit for the Barnes and Noble NOOK Color eReader
This is a well thought out little kit including the instruction DVD, the little pry tool, and the little screw driver along with the battery. (You can preview the instruction DVD on Youtube just search for "Replace Nook Color battery")
I haven't had a chance to test the battery life yet...if it suffers, I'll knock this review down a star, but at this point, $30+ sure beats having to find a certified Barnes and Noble tech, and paying a fortune for the battery replacement on my Nook Color.
Couple of things about the kit and the video:
1. Do this over a soft towel so you don't scratch the front, and to keep teensy screws from rolling away.
2. The back cover is pretty tricky to get off despite the ease shown in the video. Try easing up the edge on one of the long sides, starting at the open corner as demonstrated in the video. The little tabs that hold the long edges in place are a bit shorter than the ones on the short sides. When you put the cover back on at the end, ease the short sided tabs in first, then snap in the long side tabs.
3. B&N is putting strips of that uber-sticky tape holding down the back cover as well so you might have to work a bit to pry it up. (Which is probably why it was not coming off easily.)
4. Once you get the back cover off remove, or cover, that tape. (Just rub it to get it off. It will save you time the next time you have to replace the battery. If you want to, you can just lay a tiny strip of scotch tape down over it instead.)
5. The little screwdriver in my kit was NOT magnetic and it would have helped a lot to get those tiny screws out of the unit if it had been. They can be pried out with the little pry bar after loosening if you are careful not to fling them across the room.
6. A note of caution about the connectors: Those two very small connectors lift UP, you do NOT pull them out in the direction of the wires! Of course you can't see what the heck is going on down there, because the folks at B&N have stuck little bits of adhesive foam on top of the connectors.
Bad news is, the adhesive on the foam just gooeyed up the works and made one of the connectors stick so that the wires from the old battery just pulled out of the connector, leaving the plastic bit stuck in the receptacle. I was finally able to pry that out, but I was afraid I was going to damage the pins. That was when I learned that the connectors lift up and do not pull out. If it had happened on the other connector it would have been a real problem, but since I was replacing the battery anyway, the fact that the old battery lost it's connector was not a big deal. The other connector has a bit of ribbon tied around it, to facilitate disconnecting it, but you have to pull that foam off to see it.
Either way, lose the foam on both connectors it gets in the way of you seeing what you are doing.
Knowing what I do now, after pulling off that foam and trying to clean off any leftover adhesive, I would probably try to thread a thin bent wire (florist's wire?) of some kind under the wires, and use that to help pull the connector up, but you can also probably just do it with an edge of the pry bar if you are careful. Just remember to pry up. And if you want to make life really easy next time, tie a bit of thread loosely around the battery connector wires right next to the plastic before you install it.
When you put the new battery in, the connectors have to be aligned over the receptacle and then just pressed down. On the back of the connectors is a series of little grooves cut into the plastic. Align those over the pins and then press down. It's really not hard to connect them, even with the small tolerance. (Once you get them aligned, you can use the pry bar or any thin tool to gently push them down.)
7. Prying up the old battery from the case is a pain, because of the tape strips, but you CAN bend the battery. It is flexible. Use the pry bar....you won't hurt anything. It's going to make an awful noise, but there is a metal plate under the battery to protect the electronics.
8. Once you get the old battery off of the plate, cover those strips of sticky tape with either masking tape or scotch tape to keep from having to do this again.
9. The new battery is smaller....once you install it and have made the connections, tape the new battery down with a long piece of masking tape or two, over the TOP of the battery. It will hold it in place and keep it from rattling around, but you won't have any trouble taking it off in the future.
10. Turn the unit on before you put all the screws back in, to make sure that the connections are solid, and make sure that all of the electronics are in place before putting the cover back on.
(Line up the power plug receptacle end first when putting it back together.)
Okay, that's about it.....it didn't take more than about an hour, even with having to pry out that damaged connector, so it's a pretty good deal.
My only disappointments and thus the 4 stars: The connector lead from the battery might be a bit longer to facilitate working the connector. And the replacement battery shows it to be 3200mAh, while the original I removed showed it as 4000mAh. I'll reserve judgement on battery life, has to be better than the original. 2 years old and my wife only got 20 minutes without having to recharge on the original.
I did appreciate that the tools were perfect, particularly the magnetized screwdriver. Do be sure to test the buttons before final assembly, my power switch moved and had to be realigned!

Worked as advertised, installation was not trivial but manageable with care. If you've never done something like this before work it slowly and expect the plug alignment to be a bit more troublesome than the video shows. Since the day I got my Nook Color, I had problems with short battery charge. I didn't realize I got a new product with a bad battery until I replaced it with the NewPower99 battery. Even though this battery is rated with about 20% lower capacity than the official battery, my uptime more than doubled, and during periods of low use I'm getting roughly four times the life that I got with my original battery. Uniden VHF Marine Radio Set (MHS050-2) Review

I just tested the Uniden MHSO 50 Marine Radio set against the higher priced Uniden Atlantis Model which I also own. The Atlantis comes in with a rating of 5 watts VS the lower 3.5 Watts on the on the MHSO 50. The Atlantis does have the weather radio function which is very nice to have. Here is the biggest surprise the MHSO 50 transmits and received out to the very same distance and it was clearer. In my test both only worked to 1.5 miles which maybe shorter than you expect. I have had several Atlantis in the past and with hand held radios 1.5 miles is pretty much what you get. I have tested the battery on both and after 8 hours of standby it still showed 80%. So battery life on either is very good. You get 2 Uniden MHSO 50 Marine radios for about the price of one Atlantis. The other advantages to the Uniden MHSO 50 are that it is clearer, lighter, smaller, waterproof and floats. If you need 2 radios and don't need the weather radio then these is the way to go.

They are okay for the price but have two big flaws. First, when the volume is turned all the way up, you can barely hear it. If you are on a boat under way, there is no way you will hear it. If it is perfectly quiet, you can hear it. Not useful for typical environments. Also, the range is horrible on mine. Had an old West Marine radio that could easily reach a friend of mine 1/2 mile down the river from my kitchen. These don't work unless I walk out to my pier. Range is decent for the price. We tested through the woods with hills and still got about 1 mile which is pretty good through all of the interference. I expect to get another half mile on open water. Bought this radio for BWCA canoeing. We fish a lot and its nice to quickly let the other canoes know what's going on. The radios came in clear from within a mile away and I have no complaints for the price. It would be nice to have a NOAA weather radio plus the ability to use AA batteries so you're not limited to one charge while in the woods. The car charger arrived very quickly after purchase and has been in my car ever since. It works well and is an excellent value for the price. The cord is flexible and the tip works well with my phone. Buy it!Con: the plastic feels cheap and hard around the plug in case.

I bought this hand held air compressor in the hopes that it would work in my unique application which is to be able to air up the drag slicks on the race car. And does this do the job in spades. I am very pleased with the results and am pleased with the battery life. It will not only air up your basketball/soccer/football in short order, but it will air up one of my race car drag slicks (26X8.5)from 9 psi to 13 psi in about one min. or less. That may not seem like a lot of pressure change, but it is a lot of volume change in a race slick. It is very portable and can be charged from the wall or a cig. lighter. Am very pleased with this item and would recommend it with out question.

First let me say that I've had two Airman pumps for almost 8 years each. They have been reliable and handy saving me many trips to the gas station. Not to mention helping with other uses around the house since they come with multiple tip adaptors.The nicad battery packs have since given up the ghost and no longer accept charges but in fairness they lasted longer than I expected for nicads anyway. I happily continued using the pumps with the included cigarette lighter adaptor.
Now my oldest pump is not generating any output pressure. Time for a rebuild. In the hopes that ActiveTools sold repair parts or at least offered a repair service I emailed ActiveTools USA directly.
No response. Not even after two attempts. Nothing, nadda, zippo.
Not even a redirection of my email "help" request to a different department.
I'm not completely surprised in this day and age. But I am disappointed because I specifically chose Airman (after much research) over several other cheapo, made-in-China, disposable, "use once and throw away" products. In fact, it was quite easy to find junk pumps everywhere and very difficult to find a quality pump.
You could say I got my moneys worth after all these years. But it's a shame to throw away a perfectly repairable product that has served me well for years simply because the manufacturer doesn't have their customer service act together.

Brought this as overkill protection against flats while commuting. Used it multiple times and it does inflate tires effectively. However, after about 6 months of use, the battery didn't hold charge for very long. I think the CO2 canisters are as effective and more reliable for better price. Bottom line, this was a nice to have when it worked flawlessly.
