I am rating this product 3 stars. My experience with this product was not one of disappointment but from an engineering or design aspect, one where a good product could be a great product, except for one small detail. I would recommend this product to others with one caveat: Before you use the product, unscrew the nose cap (pointed end) off of the plug, add some super glue to the threaded portion and re-attach the nose. Let it cure for a bit before you ever insert it into your car outlet jack. I am an engineer and I notice things from an engineering perspective. This product failed the first time I used it. It is mostly well designed and I love the fact that it is fused to protect your car's electrical system from an overload and I also liked the locking feature in the plug whereby you can lock the angle of the plug in a certain position. All of that works well. The one thing that I would consider a design flaw is the spring pushing the positive electrode outward is way too strong. The threads for the tip are very fine and the spring ( at least in my experience) causes the nose portion to strip out of the threads and in my case, break off the threaded portion, rendering the device useless. Oh, I have ordered another one, but next time I'll make this one modification. I hope the manufacturer takes note of this flaw and redesigns with a less aggressive spring. Then this might be a 4-star product.

I did quite a bit of reading of the many reviews of this type of product. I wanted a quality unit and I finally selected this one. I really liked the fact that it has a replaceable auto fuse. I felt that if the company went to the expense of adding that feature then it may well be a safe (won't burn up) and dependable device. It fits snugly in the outlet so it will stay put while driving. It folds to take up less room in a glove box when not in use. The indicator light clearly shows that proper contact is made, yet is not distracting. The folding feature gives you some choice on how to ''angle'' the device in the car. Finally it will power and charge an iPad 3. Delivery was quick and packaging was good. I plan on ordering additional ones for other vehicles. I hope this review helps others who are considering an outlet adapter.

So far, so good...it works like a champ out of the box. I haven't loaded up all 4 ports yet, but it handles the two cigarette-type plugs fine. Nice blue LED lets you know it's working, and I like having the circuit breaker there to protect my devices in case of a surge. The swivel adapter has a lot of intermediate settings the picture doesn't show, so you can position it where you like. I didn't give it 5 stars because it's just a little bulky and I wish the plug was in the middle instead of on the side.

I purchased this to charge/salvage some military 24V batteries that I couldn't readily replace in a diesel generator. They were 12 years old, and dead as doornails. I was amazed. 1: Batteries seemed low on electrolyte Don't add distilled water just yet (get a book)! 2: Hook up the charger alligator clips, plug it in, set the correct parameters, with lowest charge setting (1 amp) the next day, electrolyte levels had come up, and I could crank the diesel! The unit will self-terminate a charge if it does not reach full charge in ~24 hours(end of bulk charge/begin float charge) it is a great safety feature that will prevent cooking-off your batteries. Comes with a temperature sensor to regulate charging voltage based on terminal temp (battery temp) and you won't overcharge a battery in warm/hot weather very nice!

If charging flooded (wet) batteries, I highly recommend getting a book on care/feeding of lead acid batteries and a hydrometer to measure specific gravity you can indeed salvage lead-acid batteries that have not been abused. Works with Flooded/AGM and Gel cell. Knowing what I know now, I will buy AGM batteries from now on safeer and more rugged.

I liked this product so much, that I got the 12 V model, and the "wall wart" version of the 12v model. Both are outstanding. My Jeep Cherokee's 5 year battery is now 7 years old, going on 8. Desulphation works it is not a myth!

As great a product as the 12V version is, this is even better. Battery type and charge rate selectable features and a battery temp sensor put this product over the top! Two 125Ah deep cycle marine batteries in series, a power supply (APC 750XL) and this charger give me 2 days of backup power to keep the boiler going for heat/hot water at my remote cabin. The batteries are at peak power the moment the power goes out.

I am chronically looking to charge my devices, yet one thing is in my car, I really do not like to clutter up the DC/cigarette port. I have found that the adapter that allow me to plug in regular AC adapters or the dual cigarette port adapters to be heavy, awkward, and even once shorted out the fuse to the cigarette port in the car. And I have difficulty finding storage in the glove box for those large items, and the cords, etc.

So, I was pleasantly surprised to find a device about the size of a thumb with two USB ports. It fits smoothly into the cigarette port, and two blue LEDs illumiinate the ports (they do not change colors once something is plugged in). So, began my road trip, charging my IPAD2 and using my Droid Bionic with the GPS ongoing (with the extended 2700mAh battery inside--like I said, I keep running out of juice!).

After about two hours of driving, the IPAD2, which was not used during the trip, charged about 20%, the Droid bionic improved about the same while using the GPS, bluetooth phone calls at times, with the screen at a fairly high brightness and the volume on high. The square end of the device stayed cool, the end inserted into the car was slightly warm, but not hot. Again, the small size was a big plus, as I found it easy to slip into my glove box with the respective charging cords, using very little space. I am impressed by this seemingly simple, yet elegant design. They did a great job by keeping it small and slim, elminating the bulkiness and the thickness of other DC adapters. And with almost everything going USB, I think this will save me from purchasing other adapters.

This charger has serious design defect. It didn't short the green and white sub-cable (#2 and #3, data) in the charger itself, instead shorted in the cable. You have to use the included cable to have AC charging (>0.5a). Other usb cables without shorting #2 and #3 sub-cables will only has USB charging (0.5a), which will not charge your phone at all if you have GPS or music on.

For those who can't return but still want the 2A charging, you can peer open your cable, and connect #2 and #3 together in the microUSB ends, leaving #2 and #3 open in the USB end. If you are geeky enough, you can also flash a ROM with quickcharge softMOD.

My car is an Acura TSX and the space for the charger is recessed into the center console and not very large. At first I was really worried that this charger couldn't fit with both cords attached. But I was wrong, it fit, even in the very tight confines of my charging port perfectly! This will be super handy for our road trips or even just around town when we both need to charge our phones, or if she needs to charge her Kindle Fire or my Asus Transformer Prime after watching movies. Griffin iTrip Wireless Mobile FM Transmitter to Car Radio for iPod Review

I've tried a few FM transmitters for my various iPods, from Griffin and other manufacturers, and this one sounds as good as any I've used, which is to say not all that terrific it's OK for non-critical listening in the car, but if you want consistent, crystal-clear, high quality sound without crackling and hiss you'll have to go for some sort of direct-wired approach.

Setting aside the limits of the technology itself, I'd give Griffin's approach four stars this is a nice little gadget, and very easy to use. It's beautifully designed; the sled arrangement allows it to "bond" with the Nano very nicely it looks like one integrated unit (though I wish Griffin had offered it in white as well as black). The iTrip hijacks the Nano's screen, which makes for easy tuning and adjustment of preferences (stereo/mono, etc). I haven't noticed a problem yet with the "micro-suction" pad that holds the Nano to the transmitter, but keeping the pad clean is probably a necessity.

Speaking of which, the iTrip comes with a nice little grey cloth pouch that holds the Nano and transmitter snugly the inside of the pouch is soft, but it also sheds a lot of very fine dust onto the unit for a few days, which probably doesn't help the pad's sticking power.

One caveat you can't use this transmitter with a Nano case (which may explain why Griffin included a pouch). I've got the clear plastic "Invisibleshield" on my Nano, so it's not a problem for me.

It strikes me as a little overpriced, but it's certainly the best available solution for people who want to listen to their Nano in the car but can't hardwire a connection.

I just wanted to say that I really like this product. I read the other reviews and some of the whining. First and foremost, this is an FM transmitter. Expect static every once in awhile. If you want clear reception all the time go and spend the extra money for and iPod adapter. Otherwise, be glad that you can finally leave your CD wallet at home and be able to listen to all your music. On my last trip my fully charged nano lasted almost 3 hours. I would recommend a phone charger (Razr). All in all it was a good purchase. Do not expect crystal clear reception 100% of the time. The little pouch does leave little "fuzzies" on the iTrip but if you are not a lazy slob you can clean it in less than 5 seconds. For those considering this purchase: it is a good buy. 1)Remember that it is an FM transmitter-it won't be clear all the time. 2) it is cheaper than purchasing an iPod adapter. 3) When you get out of your car you can take your iTrip and nano with you. 4) I recommend a Motorala Razr car charger (for when the nano is low). ****5) This is inexpensive and convenient.

You have to remember: it's a little device, stealing power from iPod battery, and trying to transmit a radio signal in a quite crowded frequency band. When you keep this in mind, you would not be too much surprised that...

* In some areas you can hardly find a frequency with no interference (try NY).

* iPod Nano volume has to be at least 50%, more like 70%, and your radio volume has to be close to max (so when you accidentally change the frequency to the nearest music station you go deaf for a couple of seconds)

* You can't use it for 5 hours straight iPod Nano is small, so is its battery.

I never used other transmitters, so I don't really know how good this one is in comparison. Bottom line do NOT expect the music coming out of your radio to be as good as out of a decent headphones, or even wired speakers.

The transmitter has a mini-USB jack, so I have found a way to charge the iPod while listening... but the moment I connect the wire I typically hear irritating hissing. But not always. But often. I can also connect iPod to the computer through this miniUSB and transfer files/music.

The good thing is how the transmitter is designed. It's small and cute, and it sits behind Nano (and a little bit at the bottom). I put a piece of velcro on its back, so the whole thing is not bouncing all over the car when I make a corner but sits in a convenient location on the dashboard.

The itrip nano is a great idea, and works excellently if you put forth the time into figuring out the best settings and clearest frequency to operate with. The part that I like best is that I can use it in other countries with the international settings option. After about 10 to 15 minutes of playing around with the settings, I haven't had a problem since.

I purchased this item 1 year ago in April 2011 and it broke on me after a month of use. I recently came across this item in my junk drawer which reminded me to fill out a review for my purchase.

The plug end that goes into the iPod separated from the cable, exposing the wires and breaking off the solder leads to the plug. I really don't believe I was being rough with it at all; only used it at my computer desk. This cable is also extremely thin.

Alternately, the cable that came with the Belkin F8Z446 Micro Auto Charger with Charge Sync Cable for iPhone and iPod has been excellent, is hefty, and will take a beating in the hot car. Of course it cost more.

I bought this inverter because of its compact size. Since my car only has one power point (cig lighter), it's like a 3-way adapter.

I've used it for awhile now and works well for me. I mainly use the household outlet for keeping my laptop topped off on the road and sometimes the USB port to recharge my iPod after a long day. If I had to, I can also plug in my cell phone charger into the second household outlet.

Most other inverters were much larger and would have been messier.

mmm. I definitely was expecting something a little different. It works okay. They haven't perfected a way for what you plug in to actually stay in. It's not the greatest compatibility. You have to maybe turn it side ways so it doesn't fall out. I get a little annoyed with things like that. You pay good money for something to deliver convenience or some sort of gratification and you still wind up settling a little. I had to turn it a few times. Push it back in a few times. If you hit a bump it might move. It is quiet though. My friend has one from another company that is noisy as hell. That would definitely annoy me more so I guess it's the lesser of evils. I'm sure with a little research there is a better version that we can totally feel confident in. So in closing if you don't mind a few things a little off and you can work around them then try it. I'm sure I'll get another type to compare because I put them in different vehicles and I'm always on the road.

Bought this items primarily because of price and dual outlets, but wish now I had bought another. It works, but is frustrating. My primary complaint is getting this thing to stay in and connected. The metal contacts on the side are too thick and without sufficient "spring" to make good contact and hold it in place. The end contact has no spring at all, so if the unit wiggles out a fraction of an inch it loses contact and goes off. The plastic locking switch is so inaccessible and hard to move that it is effectively useless. The AC outlet contacts are so cheap that they don't hold plugs at all...they just slide in and out. Finally, when it rolled off the seat and out the door one day (maybe a one-foot drop), the cheap plastic clip that holds the unit together broke (easily remedied with some glue). If you're only concerned about price...well, I would still look at other options.

This is the new version of the PP-2200 with the addition of jumper cables. The battery is slightly smaller in capacity, 18 amp hours versus 22 amp hours, and comes with a flexible neck light that plugs into the 12 volt outlet. I wish they had kept the same capacity battery, but it won't make all that much difference. I replaced the halogen bulb in the 12 volt flex neck light with an LED bulb so it will not drain the battery nearly as quickly. Overall the quality appears to be there as in other Schumacher products. When the battery finally does need to be replaced, I hope to replace it with a larger capacity cell. Yes, the battery can be replaced by your local Batteries Plus store. I do recommend this power pack and the price I got through Amazon was the lowest I could find. Shipping was very quick.

The options available on this model are great, the problem is that the batteries are faulty. I should have headed the warnings others gave in reviews but I figured I'd give it a shot. The problem is the internal battery would not take a charge, not even once. When it arrived I followed the directions and left it on the charger over 72 hours, after all that there was no charge at all so I put it back on for 4 days, after that the orange charge status light came on for about 5 seconds then it went red again. Log story short I tried charging a few more times and nothing worked, amazon will not take that as a return item but after talking to customer service they refunded me the entire amount, now I have to deal with disposing of this thing. I did end up buying a similar product made by Duracell, works perfectly.

There were no instruction with this unit and almost nothing on the web.

Connect your battery to the appropriate +screws indicated by the battery symbol and connect your solar panel to the appropriate +screws indicated by the panel symbol.

Do Not connect your load device to the screws indicated by the light bulb symbol because they will not power the device. Connect your load device straight to the battery along with the charge controller battery wires.

I am fairly confident that the controller protects the battery from being over charged because my deer feeders and game cameras have both worked flawlessly with the same battery for years. I have 4 of these units and I had one of the 4 fail to pass the charge from the solar panel after about 4-5yrs. I replaced it with exactly the same unit last year from Amazon

This unit while it does seem to work as a solar controller, there is no indicator LED to show it is working even though there is a place in the front panel that says "Charging" (it's just a hole with no light indicator). The "LOAD" section is completely inoperative and even if you connect a light source, it will not work let alone come on automatically at night. I have confirmed this with the seller. So, I purchased a better one on ebay (he's an electronics engineer and will make it to your specifications). I used the enclosure from this one to house the new one. Yes, I am out $13 bucks but the seller did offer an RMA, but I wanted the plastic enclosure as I mentioned before. So it all worked out for me.

This product was shipped quickly and well packaged. There was not much in the way for instructions included (a few paragraphs on the packaging), but there really isn't much to say. Plug it in, select a station to transmit, and you're done.

This charges my G2 phone effortlessly while playing music, navigating or even someone playing something graphically intense like Angry Birds (in the passenger seat, of course!) Music is transmitted well overall, though I'm getting some weird electrical feedback from my car. It's this high-pitched drone that fluctuates up and down in pitch with the tachometer. I don't know if it's the device's fault, or my car's.

As for the device's faults, a volume control of some sort would have been nice on it. As it stands right now, I have to crank up my stereo pretty loud to get decent volumes on transmission. This is only a problem when I forget to turn the volume back down when switching to a CD or the radio. Aside from that, works as advertised with no problems at all.

Like all radio transmitters, putting your device (in this case, my phone) at 100% volume really bungles up the transmitted audio, but even at 75% sometimes the S sound comes off as caustic static. That's just the nature of these transmitters though, so I can't fault them, just a warning to potential customers.

Overall, a great device. I'm glad I invested in it.
