I tried the charger first in a rental car. It worked for a minute, and then failed to charge (or illuminate its LED light). I removed the charger, and tried to use my GPS unit with its car charger (which had earlier worked fine in this car), and found that IT wouldn't charge, either!

So I returned the car to the rental car office, figuring there was a problem with its electrical system. But when the exact same thing happened in the second car (after, again, powering my GPS' charger just fine), I realized that I was causing the problems....by my use of this cheapo iPhone charger. I'm just glad that 1. I didn't plug the charger into my own car, and 2. it didn't fry my iPhone!

This charger went straight into the garbage, and I bought my auto charger at apple store for $20. It's great, dependable, and I can use it to charge any gizmo that charges via USB (including my computer, my 3GJUICE, etc.

This car charger did not work at all for my iPhone 3G. The red light on the charger indicated it was receiving power, but my iPhone 3G did not receive a charge. This was tested on two different iPhones in two different cars. I elected not to exchange, since it wasn't worth the return shipping and handling. It sounds like others have had success with this product, but I can not recommend it.

It arrived within a few days, tested it on my iPhone 3G and it worked.

By the way, I found 3 tips that help extend the iPhone 3G battery life considerably, go to Settings and set the following:

1. Set Wi-Fi: Off

2. Fetch New Data: Hourly (I hook up to my work's exchange email server)

3. General > Network > Enable 3G: Off

Also, if you need speed for web browsing and other apps, then switch on either 3G or Wireless On. I use wireless for performance reasons.

I did some speed tests and found that of the 3 network options I have these were the download speeds:

1. Wireless WiFi 6Mbits/s (connected to my private home wireless network from a cable service)

2. 3G 1.2Mbits/s

3. EDGE 0.18 Mbits/s I use this for my daily phone calls works just fine and best option to extend the battery life

Bottom line, when at home and lounging, connect to a power supply and switch on Wi-Fi, when on battery power set settings as mentioned. Enjoy your iPhone.

I used this charger in my 2000 Nissan Maxima. After a week it blew the fuse to my front cigarette lighter, then after one use it blew the other one. I guess there is a reason it was so inexpensive.

Buy Sony DCC-E345 Car DC Adaptor with Selectable Voltage Switch

...it generates a fair amount of RF interference. If you use this in a car, you can pretty much expect that your AM radio reception will be significantly compromised, and if you use it to power a CD power or similar, unless the player itself is quite well filtered internally, you'll notice audible buzzing through the player's audio outputs (I have a Sony CD player that is really bad in this regard).

It does do a fine job of creating power, and I suppose for the price you can't really ask for a lot of internal filtering. So... the bottom line is that it's a fine product if the aforementioned limitations either don't apply to you or don't bother you.

I bought this to replace the original adapter I got with a Sony CD car kit 13 years ago, and was very pleasantly surprised by the improvement in quality. The cord is longer to avoid pulling, and is protected by a thick rubber exterior. The orginal cord I had was thin, and while it lasted 13 years, it finally snapped clean off. This current version of the adapter is much more rugged. It works great with my portable CD player, and I'm very pleased.

The Phillips portable CD adaptor stopped working (unless I pushed it into the cigarette lighter space) and happily I found the Sony, so I can continue to listen to CDs in the car. I did have to add the alternate plug, to make it fit the Phillips player & switch to the proper voltage. And all is well again. It arrived quickly from the shipper.

We have been waiting for this tool for several months. We finally found a supplier who had one in stock and bought it. Today, we used it for the first time. For lug nuts, be careful, as this tool has so much torque it might tear off your lug nut. We used a torque stick to be safe. We had been using a DeWalt 18 volt impact, with mostly success. I have 3 2 older and 1 newer. You have to buy a converter plug since the plugs are different on the dongles between old and new but the product is interchangeable. The new one is more for external uses. I needed help on the product choice so I called the manufacture. I bought these cords for my wife's phone after the original one came apart. This seemed to be the best price, although we didn't really want/need the car charger cord. It's a good thing, since when we opened the package, the car charger cord smelled so bad we threw it away. The plug-in cord was OK, and is working well with her phone.

I bought this fancy battery charger and it works pretty good. After about two months half of the display went out. Getting ahold of Optima is proving to be very difficult. Until my warranty is dealt with I cannot recommend this product. I would buy a regular battery charger and a battery tender instead of this expensive complicated charger/tender with a fragile display and poor customer service from Optima.

I must admit I was anxious to try this unit and Amazon has the best price $149. If you don't see this price then they are out of stock and check back every day until you do.

I don't have time to write anything to long but will say that this is the best charger I have ever owned! It does so much and is very complete package! I am using a desulfator along with it to restore old battery. This unit starts at 1.25v which no charger will do. I have a Battery Tender which was not able able to charger and bring back one of my Odyssey battery's but the Optima did. Anyhow its your call what you buy but your a fool if you pass this charger up for a any lesser. I have learn my lessons that's all I will say.

I bought this charger because I needed one for my truck works great for that. What really impressed me though was hooking up a supposedly "dead" battery from a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source) connected to my computer system. I hooked up the battery to this charger and about 2 hours later the battery readout was at 100% and the UPS is working fine now. I don't know how long it will last, but the charger is reading its capacity at 100% so I'm guessing it's good for the immediate future. That saves me about $60 because I'd ordinarily go to Batteries Plus and just get a new battery.

This charger works okay, but I went to take it out of my car yesterday and the whole thing came apart! Maybe from heat but it is a car charger meant to be in a car, hot or cold. I taped it back together but it won't last long.

This charger is supposed to be fast charging and in fact might be but I use it only occasionally in my car so I cannot attest to how fast the total charge would be.

What I can attest to: it appears well-made with quality connections, wire, USB cable and insert for charging. I had no difficulty getting it to fit in my 2011 vehicle. I like that it connects quickly and easily to my phone. I am pleased that you can take the USB cable and use it for your home charger as well if need be. Also, the blue light that comes on when charging is a good reminder to unplug it and lets you know it is still charging.

One note: it seems as if it takes a few seconds more for my phone to recognize this charger in comparison to my home charger. It first will give me the notification that a USB cable has been connected. Then after a few more seconds that notification will disappear and you can see the charging symbol come on in the battery icon.

This charger takes about 10 times longer to charge then any other car charger I have used. It kept falling out of the plug and getting a loose connection from my phone. It also gets tangled and no longer retracts. I ended up getting a USB adapter for my lighter plug and use my existing USB phone cord. It charges no problem.

I used this charger for 2 phones. It is a cheap charger, so I didn't expect it to last more than a few months, but I had needed something to be cheap. Well, this seriously outlasted what I had expected more than 2 years. It did finally die...and it was at an unfortunate time...but it was well worth the small price I paid for the years I used it!
