Purchased 2 batteries for a couple of apc ES 550 that have bad batteries. The batteries arrived on time. They look just like the original but with one big difference.

The terminals are about half as wide as on the original apc connectors. The cables keep slipping off the terminals on the battery. If you can manage to get the cables to stay the ups charges and works as it should but I left for a few days and turned off the ups, when I returned and turned on the ups it acted as if there was no battery charge. Looked everywhere for the cause and finally opened up the battery compartment and the negative cable was not nmaking contact. Would be a perfect battery if the terminals were a little larger. (wider).

I used to buy a lot of APC UPSs because they were cheap on Black Friday. However, the last 5 years or so they have not been on sale and the ones I have are dropping like flies. New ones are $60-80, so I thought I would replace the battery instead. This was my first foray into replacing a battery in a UPS (note I have a fair amount of electronic experience and frequently rebuild Black and Decker drill batteries with the guts from a cheap brand).

I bought this to put into an APC Back-UPS ES 500. This battery physically fits perfectly. It is rated at slightly higher capacity than the original so hopefully that it will provide longer runtime.

Initially it did not function. The terminals on the battery are a little smaller than the connectors in the UPS, so I had to pinch the connectors down a little with pliers to get a good electrical connection. Once I did that it seemed to work fine. At this point only time will tell if it lasts. If it screws up within a year I will post an addendum to that fact.

I had problems with this APC replacement battery from the day I got it. The positive and negative poles are thinner than on original APC batteries, so the wires do not fit tightly and kept coming off. After having to reconnect them several times, I finally had to tapes the wires down with duct tape. Then after about 3 weeks of use the battery died. The APC unit alarmed and the "replace battery" red led came on. Amazon has a no return policy for batteries, so I just went and purchased a new APC es550 at another store. Just to test this replacement battery, I put it in the new APC 550, and again the "replace battery" led came on. So the battery I got is obviously defective. I wrote to ecom electronics and asked for a working battery since I can't return this one. I will post again when I get their response.

UPDATE: I just received a replacement battery from ecom electronics. They responded to my post right away and I had the replacement battery within a week. For those reasons I am changing my rating from one star to 3 stars. I will install their new battery and see if it lasts longer than 3 weeks. I will post here again once I determine if the replacement battery keeps working for a reasonable amount of time.

It is heavier and larger than comparable tools but this made it near impossible to fit over one of the wiper arms on my car. The little cylinder in the middle keeps falling off.

I have been using one of these for about half a year. It works pretty good. The button on the end came off mine, but popped back on. They turn lever could be stronger. I have bent mine a little already. I have had this issue with other pullers before also.

Purchased this charger but when I removed it from the box I was very skeptical about its quality, it seemed too lightweight. Once I hooked the device to a battery I had in an old Mustang that had been sitting around forever and had absolutely no charge in it the device went into its repair mode. Its built in micro-chip recognized that my battery had such a low charge that the plates inside of battery had become sulfated so it automatically switched from my setting of a regular 10 amp charge to its desulfation mode and proceeded to repair my battery. It took close to six hours for the device to repair the battery but once again, with no input from me it changed back to its normal 10 amp charge mode that I had initially selected. I left the charger on overnight and in the morning it was fully charged (A green LED starts to shine), sometime during the night, after the charger recognized the battery was fully charged, it switched again this time to its maintain mode. When the charger charges the battery to its full capacity it shuts itself off but continues to monitor the batteries voltage, if battery voltage starts to slip under 14 volts charger turns back on and sends the battery short pulses of energy to maintain the battery at full capacity, this is its maintain mode. The reason for the short pulses of energy instead of its normal straight charging mode is to prevent the water in the battery from bubbling up and evaporating away which would happen if a normal charger was left charging a battery for more than a couple of days. This feature is fantastic, it makes sure that if somehow a mistake is made and charger is left on for to long that it will never overcharge the battery, in fact by leaving the charger on the battery after it has been fully charged it will actually keep your battery at its peak performance level. This was the easiest and most efficient charger I have ever had or seen. I charged another battery I had that was only discharged about 30% and it charged it to full capacity in less than an hour, amazing.

I received the part in 1 week. I then charged my riding lawn mower battery to 100% and all 4 of my cars batteries. I was amazed to find from this tool that two of my cars batteries were at 50% and the other two were at 75%. Now they got charged to 100% and do start quicker. The 2 Amp takes a few hours to charge while the 6 Amp is 3x the charge time rate, and 10 Amp is 5x faster than the 2 Amp. These are all manually adjustable on the fly. Charged all these while hooked to the car and lawnmower.

I'm a portable power sponge -I absorb all I can get. I'm often working on the road while my significant other drives. This is a very sturdy, quality charger. I have had others that turned out to be rather flimsy; they would wiggle in the socket, loose connection, fall apart, etc. This one has very stiff spring-loaded contacts which are elongated to make a very secure connection. I used the charger with different combinations of smart phones, GPS units, Kindle Fire tablet, and a blue tooth receiver. The charger performed correctly with all combinations of devices and it seems to put out the rated current because none of the devices reported that they were in slow or "trickle" charge mode. I was also pleased to find out that it is smaller than I expected and it does not project out from the socket very far at all. The USB ports also have an up angle which works well for me since my cigarette lighter socket is fairly low in my car. This makes it a little easier to insert USB cables. Overall the charger does what it is supposed to and seems solid enough to last a long time.

This works great. I got it to charge two iPads (or 1 iPad and a Samsung Note II) at the same time. Works really well. Just fyi, this will not charge an iPad if you're using the retina display for GPS and mapping. Just discharges a much lower rate. All in all, I'm very satisfied. It charges great when the display & GPS are not in use.

I have been looking for a higher output car charger for some time now after I've acquired a Galaxy Note 2. With my old charger (with a measly output of .7A it could barely keep up with the battery drain if I have cell data on, GPS running, and bluetooth all going at once.

This got to me just in time right before a road trip so I took it for a drive. While I didn't measure total time to charge from empty to full what I can tell you is that it is charging at about the same rate as the factory brick charger (we were charging my Note 2 and a iPhone5 at same time so the manufacturer's claim of high output appears to be true).

I also like the design and build of it feels a bit more solid than your average car charger purchased from Asia (e.g. DX or MP). Overall, I am pleased with this product and would purchase again if/when this breaks down or if I need another one.

Many USB car chargers claim to charge two devices... very few actually can. Most of the chargers that looks like this one have either two 1Amp plugs or one 2.1Amp and one 1Amp or some other variation. You see, the problem is that if you have two devices that need more than 1Amp, then you're not really charging them both. This charger provides two 2.1A slots, so go ahead and charge your ipad and galaxy pad... it will work just fine :D

The phone-end connector does not latch into the phone and falls out. I compared the latches on this item to those on my original charger and it looks like the new ones are installed improperly and do not engage the phone receptacle.

I also notice a difference between the new and original phone connector, in the # and locations of the pins. But I do believe the new one will charge the phone since the red LED turns on when the unit is connected to the phone (and when the unit is not plugged into the car outlet).

This charger pack (at least the one I received) has a 2mm connector, and is 5V. Nokia 5230 requires a 3.5 mm connector and AC-8. This listing's chargers are likely good for SOME phone, just not the Nokia 5230. The price is low to get you to swallow the loss. Return shipping (which I had to pay to get my money back) is $2.41 for the 5 oz 'large/thick envelope'. That means my time to complain to them, getting no valid response, request/print the return label, drive to the post office will get me $2.09 of my $4.50 back.

This charger pack is a steal: meaning this listing stole my money, stole my phone time, as can't use it currently,stole my time writing complaining to the lister of this item, and stole my faith in Amaz regulations of its vendors.

Got 2 of these to replace the frozen batteries in my daughter's E100. They may even have the smallest amount of additional get-up and go. Just cut the wires from the old batteries, stripped the wires, wrapped through the terminals and covered in electric tape. Not too difficult and no problems so far.

There's really not much to review but I figured I would counter the other (misguided) review on this item. The charger works just as fine for powering the Zune while in the car. I pretty much leave my Zune in the car and this lets me do that without having to periodically bring it inside for charging. The part that goes into the cigarette lighter is rather large so take that into account if you have any kind of obstructions around your power socket. The only other thing I noticed that surprized me a little was that the Zune display stays on when connected to the charger and playing music. There's nothing really wrong with that but I was just expecting the screen to go dark like it does when it is not connected to power. Oh, I also like the coiled cord which makes things a bit tidier than having a lot of loose cable cluttering up the console area. I recommend this product.

Had mine for 8 months. Little button on side of Zune connector either broke or fell off. This locks the connector into the unit until you use a pointed object to push in on the locking pin while pushing "button" on other side of connector. Trick is to not stab yourself when connector lets go.

Noise is probably dependent on vehicles electrical system. I get some low level noise in my '09 Toyota, but not in my Dodge.

I'm going to buy another, because it does work well.

But it's nice to have two. The unit I ordered Batterminder Model 12248 comes with two ways to attach it to a battery or a group of batteries. With two, you don't have to "borrow" the one attached when you need to use the charger on another battery. This model of charger requires the external sensor where other ones do not. That was not clear in the description. Oh well. My bad.
