Many of these chargers do not work with the iPads since they require real 2.1 Amps. This one truly works, highly recommended for Android and Apple devices. It does not come with cables, so you have to use your phone cables.

Works but is quite slow to recharge the phone battery. Also need to be careful about "wiggling" the USB connector cable because it will sometimes lose contact and not charge the phone.

At first I thought it came with the USB cord and was disappointed..but then I realized that I had so many cords anyway so it didn't matter. I love that it is a dual charger. And it is very well constructed, it will definitely last longer than the traditional ones that usually break after a few weeks of use. Don't hesitate to purchase this..it is an excellent buy!!

Good product at a good price. Has no charging light indicator, but I knew that. Does it's job.

We bought 3 new VX8550 phones when we switched our cell carrier service to Verizon, but I was not about to shell out $90 for three car chargers. These work quite well. They are not as solid feeling as the ones in the Verizon store, but thay are LG branded, so I hope that means they'll be good and not ruin our batteries. So far, so good. The order arrived quickly, with good email communication from the seller.

With so many generics with questionable writeups, I was leery about buying anything online but afraid to pay the outrageous Verizon store prices. This one claimed to be made by LG, and while it does not have the LED that indicates when charging or when complete, it does do the job with no issues. The plug itself is a 90 degree one, so it removes a lot of the potential stress on the wire while laying it in the dash.

Overall Pros:

Easy to use, well constructed, great price

Cons:

Could use an indicator light

All in all I'm happy with this adapter and would recommend it to others.

I've had this product for a little over a month and so far it works great. Haven't had to use it much yet, as the phone is a brand new LG enV (VX9900) and still holds a great charge. When I have used it, it charged the phone quickly, didn't overcharge, and the phone held the charge for quite some time. It's a handy size, too--it fits right in my splitter without taking up more than its fair share of space. The price tag is great; I got this charger for less than half the price that retail stores were charging. Definitely would recommend this product.

Good replacement car charger. Works well. The plastic part is longer than I would like, but doesn't get in the way too much. The red light showing that it is securely plugged in to the socket is good. My last charger had a recoiling cord which was very nice and kept everything compact, but I could not find that one guess my still-working old phone is too old for fancy replacement parts to still be available. It is good to have Amazon to find good products and to be able to easily shop and compare prices and see seller ratings.

Pro: Google Play Store, Micro SD expansion slot, Price(extra star given because of these factors)

Con: Slow, sluggish loading of apps, pics and videos, hazy screen lacks color vibrancy, Mono sound.

During black friday shopping weekend, I decided to give this product a try for $69. I've searched through all of the tablet deals and this tablet was the only one I found that was sub $100 that offered capacitive touch screen along with google play store, which turned out to be the right deal breaker for me to buy this one over the others. Please note that my 3 star rating was contingent upon the price itself, hardware alone is probably about 2.5 stars all together. The unit is serviceable and functional.

What came in the box was the unit, a usb 3.0 cable, a usb female cable and a charger. There were no earphones to be found. The unit required to be charged before I could get started. I inserted my micro SD card that was loaded with pictures.

I turned the screen brightness completely up along with the volume, and what I noticed was a screen that's somewhat hazy in color vibrancy. Comparatively, it was about half the brightness of the samsung galaxy tab 7 2.0. It reminds me of an older laptop screen in that regard. When I double tapped to zoom into my photos, I was only able to zoom in for a limited amount. I understood the screen resolution was limited, so that wasn't that big of a deal to me. However, there was a noticeable lag between switching from picture to picture. I wondered if it was because it was reading from the micro SD card instead of from the hardware itself?

The sound doesn't get very loud on its own. When I was sitting in the quiet room, I could hear it just fine, but when I sat in a coffee shop, i had a hard time hearing it over the background noise. Earphone outlet is yet to be tested at this point. Another noticeable factor is that the sound was mono, again compared to a samsung galaxy tab, which had stereo sound, it paled in comparison.

I've heard a saying that it's not the hardware that saves the product, but rather, it is the software. As it's saving grace, it does come with Google Play store. I downloaded Netflix, Pandora, Ted and Angry Birds to test things out. Google Search app was not compatible with this product (does that mean there are other apps that aren't compatible too?) As far as the good play store itself, downloads went smoothly and quickly. No complaints there so far.

Videos on Netflix and Ted streamed just fine, however it did take a bit of time to load. This tablet felt a bit like a turtle compared to other higher end tablets, even compared to ipad 1. Music played without any problems, and Angry Birds did play fine, even if it took forever to load initially.

The unit came out of the box with no charge. It took me approximately 2 hours to fully charge the unit. The battery life itself seem to last about 4 hours, which is about half of the higher end 7 inch tablet units. It can be charged in two waysone of which is with the 5v AC charger unit that plugs in like a cell phone, and another I found was through the USB 3.0, which makes it convenient for me since my phone uses the same charger.

To conclude, it is an average but serviceable product. I only recommended it because of the google play store, micro SD expansion and the price. Otherwise, this could've been part of the heap of other crap tablets out there. Being that it was only $69, I am not all that worried about losing or breaking the unit, which in some way is a comfortable thought to have. However, if you want quality product, invest in a kindle fire, nexus 7, or galaxy tab 2. It may be worth your time.

My opinion: My wife and I bought these for family members for Christmas, and I got them out to insert the Micro SD cards (yes, the expandable memory is nice) and add a few apps since I know the family members we got them for are not tech savvy. I am amazed at how slow this thing is compared to even the cheapest Android phone I have ever used. You will need to download an "App killer" application because it really can't run one program decently without you quitting all other functions. As of this review, you can't even run Hulu Plus on it. It is a decent eReader though, and will also run the critical apps well like Calendar and Email. >>>> It's a budget tablet you get what you pay for.

I purchased this battery to replace one that had stopped working in our home alarm system. It was shipped quickly and was a whole lot cheaper than buying it from the security company. When it arrived, I tried to install it and found out the connectors on top didn't fit. I was pretty frustrated and responded to the seller asking for a refund. They responded within hours and explained there are two different types of terminals for this battery. The F1 terminal type which is .187 inches wide, and the F2 which is .250 inches wide. This battery is the F2 version which is the wider version. Since I needed the F1 (.187" wide) they offered to send me terminal adapters (small pieces that slide over the existing terminal and can convert it to the other type of terminal) at NO CHARGE. I agreed that this was an acceptable solution and received the adaptors in 2 business days. I was very impressed at their commitment to make things right and their speed for communicating.

Arrived as promised. Unpacked it. Charged it 24 hrs and installed it without any trouble into my computer's UPS. So cool to have this shipped free by Amazon. And it saved me so much money b/c I didn't have to replace my UPS. Thanks Amazon.

Best Deals for UPG D5779 UB1280-F2 Universal Lead Acid Battery

Product arrived exactly a week after ordered via UPS. The shipping material was very professional, using thick box and peanuts with all the caution on the box label for the mail handler. I don't know who the credit should go to, ITL or UPG? ITL is the middle-man, and the shipment came directly from UPG and shipped within one day (according to UPS tracking). The processing between Amazon, ITL and UPG took a week. The product was shipped directly from a local UPG warehouse (locally to where I live), which made the packaging very professional and shipment fast.

The battery does have larger terminals than the older one I had, but no worries for me. I just replaced the existing lugs and crimped on the right size. But, this could be troublesome for others who do not have the right tools, materials, and skills to do this.

The battery appears brand new and fully charged. My alarm LED went away as soon as I replaced it with this battery. I would say, I give credit for ITL for selecting the manufacturer (UPG) directly and not another reseller or distributor that could have shipped me a battery that has been laying on the shelf for years.

Honest reviews on UPG D5779 UB1280-F2 Universal Lead Acid Battery

This is a great battery, very powerful, I use it as a backup for my home alarm system. The battery arrived in less than a week with free shipping from Amazon, like any new battery, this one was not fully charge (depending on how long has been sitting on the shelf), however it took less than 12 hours for it to be fully charged by my alarm system.

Purchased Oct 6 (along with other batteries for other UPSs all for computers). This one died Nov 9th.

Update Nov 16th: This is awkward. I ordered another 1280 (from a different company) and the UPS is still dead (which I've never had happen to me). I apologize to eComElectronics and change my rating from 1 to 5 (the 'Dead' in the title refers to the UPS, not the battery).

These radios seem to work really well for us but the cradle charger is a total joke. The radios barely seat properly and have to be fiddled with to get the charge light to come on. Also, this doesn't come with "cradle chargers", but rather a two slot cradle and one car charger. The car charger plugs in to a DC jack on the radio and works better than the cradle.

GNS 5870 MFI GPS BT Receiver for iPod, iPhone and iPad Review

GNS 5870 MFI GPS BT Receiver for iPod, iPhone and iPad
Customer Ratings: 3 stars
Buy Now
Like some, I bought the Wi-Fi only iPad because I specifically didn't want the 3G capability. But in hindsight, I did miss at least the GPS capability. So to make up for my "remorse", I ordered the external bluetooth GNS 5870. It pairs quickly with the iPad buetooth and locked on to 6 satellites (based on one app's notification) through a large upstairs window in about 2 or 3 minutes. It was a little faster I believe through my car windshield. And it stayed locked on even after walking briefly into a shopping mall with it in my shirt pocket. How accurate? Two iPad apps say accuracy is within 30 feet but this reading is through an apartment window. The accuracy of Wi-Fi only was reported as 213 feet. But the GNS 5870 works very well all by itself and thats why five stars. I would not rate it less just because the "touch and slide" on and off is slightly finicky and can be unexpectedly activated by certain movements within a coat pocket etc. Its very portable at 1 3/4 x 3 inches and has a nice rubberized body except for the 1/2 inch wide plastic touch strip. The total GNS 5870 cost at $160.00, means I'm paying about $30.00 more than the iPad 3G model would have cost.

None of my views would matter though, if the GNS 5870 cannot work with the few iPad mapping, navigation, and GPS apps that are compatible with the Wi-Fi only iPad. So I discuss these apps not as an endorsement, but just to show that the GNS 5870 does work well without Wi-Fi and with no extra expense of a 3G data plan. It should be noted however, that this does not replace the usefulness or maybe the overall accuracy of the iPad 3G, as the iPad 3G has three modes of triangulation: Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS, which provide navigation assistance when some of the modes like satellite are not available. My uses however, may be in areas of no Wi-Fi and no cell towers. In this case, my Wi-Fi only IPad with the GNS 5870 will probably be as useful as the 3G model.

That said, I have tried all the following apps riding in my car with the GNS 5870 resting on the dash. The device tracks fine with the following apps that store map data internally in the iPad: Topo Maps, MotionX GPS HD and the iPhone app Navigon MyRegion. It also works fine with the iPad Google Maps but only in "classic" and "terrain" views. This is because Google's map base is not stored internally in the iPad and must be first accessed on the fly through Wi-Fi. The "satellite" and "hybrid" views are too large I believe to be cached in the app itself. For the same reasons, the GNS 5870 does not play well with Google Earth because the app does not store large data fields internally. But smaller, less memory intensive map areas and routes in Google Maps ("classic" and "terrain") can be cached and used later using only the GNS 5870. These are erased from the cache however after any changes are made. The GNS 5870 works and tracks with the app Big World although this app also uses the Google Maps data base and I'm not sure how much of that map base is stored internally.

But if you are having Wi-Fi only iPad "buyers remorse", and you still want GPS, this is one excellent way to go. And if I get lost 30 feet from where I want to go then I'm in big trouble anyway.

I purchased this GPS for my WiFi Apple iPad and even though my emails said the expected delivery day would be more then a month ahead of my order date, I recieved it within a few days (it took some time to get to the US from Germany). The initial setup with my iPad worked flawlessly and I was able to pickup an extremely accurate GPS signal lock within seconds using the Maps app that shipped with the iPad. I was very impressed ... Until I couldn't shut the unit off. It worked a couple of times turning on and off, but now I am unable to just swipe my finger across the touch sensor to shut it off. Without a real switch, I'm stuck waiting for a reply from their email team as to what I should do to resolve the problem.

Otherwise it works great. I have tested it using the Maps app, Google Earth, and WiFiFoFum (yes, I snagged this lovely app from the app store when it was still available, no jailbreak here ;). I'd rank it a 5 star if the switch would still be working after less then a day of testing it.

Best Deals for GNS 5870 MFI GPS BT Receiver for iPod, iPhone and iPad

The GNS 5870 was purchased to add true functionality to the iPad Foreflight App in the cockpit. Since day one, it has preformed flawlessly on all domestic and international flights. It allows the iPad to be used in several different areas of the aircraft without any degregation to the quality of the GPS Signal. Additionally, I have not encountered any problems turning the device on and off as has been mentioned in other reviews. I wholeheartedly recommend this device to fellow pilots without hesitation.

Honest reviews on GNS 5870 MFI GPS BT Receiver for iPod, iPhone and iPad

I'm a Flight Test Engineer by trade. IF the GNS 5870 were a piece of equipment in an airliner cockpit, it would be considered non-certifiable per FAR 25.1301(d). Granted, it's NOT a piece of equipment in an airplane cockpit, but that's where a lot of people who buy this device (myself included) will try to use it. So buyer beware. When I purchased the device, the Bad Elf was all the rage and this really sounded like a better product. I read the reviews For and Against, including several anecdotal descriptions about a quirky power switch. Admittedly, I chuckled at the thought of some who idiot couldn't get shut his device off. The day I got the device, I had ZERO problems switching the device on and off. "Swipe On, Swipe Off" I couldn't believe people were having problems simply swiping their finger across the device. It seemed ridiculously easy. Call it beginner's luck because the next day after my first flight with the device I had a couple of "mis-swipes." OK, Nothing to be concerned about. I'm sure even the swiftest of finger swipers occasionally need to recalibrate their digits. ---To digress for a second, in terms of Bluetooth/GPS performance, the until synched instantly with my iPad and to use it with Foreflight HD is a thing of beauty. It captured a signal quickly, tracked very well and I was wowed. ----My next flight with the device required a fuel stop. Parked at the pumps, I tried to turn it off and it wouldn't. 10 20 30 swipes of varying pressures and nada. I took a deep breath, shook out my hand and tried again with a very very light touch and again and again and again and still couldn't get it to shut off. Frustrated, I left the device on while I refueled and dined on my $100 hamburger. Returning to the plane, I swiped once more just for the hell of itand it magically went off. Of course, now I was getting ready to fly again and needed to turn it back on. It took me 30 finger swipes to coax it back on. The I flew home and had to turn it off again. Let's not go there. This frustrating sequence of events now describes every flight on which I attempt to use the GNS 5870. I've now got over 50 flight hours of use on the thing (and calluses on my fingertips).

This of course assumes that the unit is fully charged. As difficult as the unit is to turn off, I find that when stowed / transported inside a protective case itself in my flight bag, all it takes is a mosquito fart's worth of pressure to bump the switch, turn the device on and drain the battery just in time for my next flight in IMC.

I must admit, the next point of contention could be true of any bluetooth device. Using the supplied suction cup holder, I fixed the GNS 5870 to the upper windshield of a C-172 and while flying found that the device spat out some rather interesting EMI that caused my glareshield-mounted magnetic compass to oscillate 30 degrees in each direction. Relocating the GNS 5870 to a side window eliminates this problem.

Lastly, I've also been unable to acquire a GPS signal whatsoever while flying in the cockpit of transport category airplanes. This blocking of the GPS signal is generally attributed to these airplane's heated windshield wiring/circuitry. Interestingly enough, the makers of the XGPS150 bluetooth GPS receiver have issued a firmware update to correct this issue in their device. This coupled with their device using a revolutionary concept known as "The Simple On/Off Button" (something the GNS 5870 designers apparently have never heard of) are two reasons why I've just ordered an XGPS150 to replace my GNS 5870.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for GNS 5870 MFI GPS BT Receiver for iPod, iPhone and iPad

I was extremely disappointed to find that my GNS 5870 did not work when it arrived. The unit employs a "touch-swipe" on-off switch which requires the user to run his/her finger over the LED screen in order to turn it on and off. However, the unit required several dozen swipes to turn off, and will not turn back on no matter how many times I swipe it.

Contacting the manufacturer, I was advised that I must send the unit back to a service center for a firmware update.

I am disappointed on three dimensions: 1.) in the design of the product, which represents a triumph of design sizzle over functionality: what genius decided that a fancy swipe mechanism was better than a just-plain on-off switch to power the unit? 2.) that a brand-new unit was shipped directly from the manufacturer without current firmware; and 3.) the firmware is not easily updatable directly through the USB port (though since the unit won't turn on, I won't protest too loudly about this).

I'm excited about the functionality of this unit as a supplement to ForeFlight on my iPad in an airplane cockpit. But the actual arrival of the device was a big letdown.

I had previously purchased the official Samsung docking station which offers a landscape fit to accommodate the mini USB port at the top of the phone. I use that docking station in the bedroom because it is so easy to insert it into the dock.

But I wanted a vertical docking station to sit next to my PC. I purchased this one but quickly found that the phone is held extremely tight by the plastic insert -to enable the phone to sit upright. I imagine that was a design decision so the phone does not -cannot -"wiggle" when the user accesses the screen. However, the fit is so tight that removing the phone from the docking station is quite difficult and usually causes the back cover of the phone (the battery cover) to come loose. This is certainly an inconvenience and the designers should think of some other way to secure the phone tightly.

Does what it is supposed to do. No frills.

One tip/idea/piece of advice: plug the charger in to the auto receptacle AFTER starting the vehicle. This will prevent power surges and blown fuses. It's a hard habit to break if you are in and out of the vehicle...but this will prevent possible frying of the charger and/or device being charged.
