This item doesn't charge effectively 2 iphones at the same time, when you connect the second one it turns on and off constantly without really charging the phone.

The sole purpose of the item is to be a dual charger, if it doesn't charge 2 items effectively at the time is a waist of money.

So far, so good. I've only used it once but it seems to work fine.

Not very well made but works.

Kinda low quality material but works like a charm, I can charge my iPhone and friends android phones. I'd say its worth it

Honest reviews on BestDealUSA Universal Dual USB Port Car Charger Adapter for iPad

The charger fits okay into the socket in the car, though it bit tighter then expected, but not difficult to install.

It actually has 2 currents: 1000mA and 2000mA.

In reality it's relatively short, so don't expect it to stick out of the socket.

The USB ports seemed a bit tight to plug the cord into.

Overall build of the charger is relatively cheap (just another MIC thing). It has blue power LED indicator inside which it lit even when the ignition key is out (which makes me thing it may discharge your car's battery potentially. It doesn't seam to be realistic though, since a phone's battery should not really drain car's battery that quick)

When I got the HTC Evo back at the beginning of June I just went to Wal Mart and picked up an FM transmitter there for 50 dollars, but it would only transmit to the radio but not charge the phone. For anyone who has an Evo, you know that the battery life is not good. Plus it had a so much excess wiring. I returned it and bought this off of amazon and it is amazing. It paired within 10 seconds and transmits with barely noticeable no static, transmits far better than the 50 dollar thing I got from Wal-Mart or the FM transmitter I had for my iphone. I put my phone onto pandora, plug in the charger and set it down and if a song comes up I want to skip, I can just hit the forward button on the flexSmart unit which can be easily adjusted to any position for your hand.

I love this thing, its not obtrusive, theres not a ton of excess wiring, just the gooseneck and if you want to charge it simultaneously you can just plug it into the usb port with the included 6 inch wire or use your own. The calls come in clear and great too, just as good as any bluetooth headset.

I highly recommend this if you dont have an auxiliary port in your car stereo, I was considering getting the gomadic one which is only 5 dollars cheapers, but has so much more wiring and the typical inconvenient control module built into the wiring. I'm really glad I got this one, I'm about to drive from DC to Portland and this thing will make the trip much more bearable and its not an eye sore in the car.

This product is an FM transmitter that connects to your Phone via bluetooth, and then transmits the audio to your car stereo through an FM signal. Just the same as other FM transmitters, but using bluetooth connection to your phone rather than a cord.

Setup:

I take a lot of trips up to Santa Barbara on the weekends and it's about 90 miles away. I use this with my Motorola Droid usually, but also with my friends' phones too. First you just plug the FLEXSMART X2 into the cigarette outlet in your car, and then press the power button. You see the LCD light up and you can adjust the FM station with the twisting knob. Just match the FM station on the FLEXSMART X2 and your car FM radio. To find the best station you can just hold down the twisting knob for a few seconds and it automatically finds a clear station for you. All you have to do to put the FLEXSMART X2 into pairing mode is hold the blue call button for a couple seconds, and then the lights start to flash. Then you go into your bluetooth settings on whatever phone you have and search for FLEXSMART X2 from the list. It usually connects in about 5 seconds. You here two beeps. One thing to notice is that when you want to disconnect one phone and connect a friend's, you have to unpair the 1st phone before connecting the 2nd one.

Sound for Music and Calls:

The sound quality for music seems to be very good. It's way less interference than other FM transmitters, I think it's possibly because there are no wires connecting the phone to the transmitter. Bluetooth music seems to be superior. One thing I did notice was a difference in my sound levels with the bass and treble. I just tweaked the bass and treble levels and got it sounding the way I like. Call quality is different. I can't figure it out...sometimes when I make or receive calls everything is perfect.. then sometimes the person I'm talking to says they can hear their voice echo in the background, BUT they sound fine to me??? It only happens maybe 1 out of 10 times.. but I can't figure out what causes it... maybe a bad cell phone signal I'm not sure. BUt for the most part calls sound good and I like how I can answer and end calls without ever toughing my phone

Controls:

You can answer and end calls by the controls on FLEXSMART X2, and you can even hold down the call button to call the same person you last talked to. The twisting knob is used for fm station tuning. Twsting it will change the FM station by 0.1 with each click. One cool feature is this Auto-Seek that finds clear stations for you. You just hold down the twisting knob and it zooms into a clear station...very cool. Also, the knob controls volume if you click it down just once. It seems like the best sound comes when you turn the FLEXMSART X2 volume up to 30, and then your car radio at about mid level(depending on how loud you like your music). I've noticed by turning up the volume on FLEXSMART X2 first the sound quality is really great. The play, forward and back buttons control your music. These controls worked great on most phones I've tried, but only the play and pause control worked on the iPhone 3GS we used.

Other cool things.....

I noticed that when you leave your phoen bluetooth on, FLEXSMART X2 automatically re-pairs it when you turn your car on. Thats pretty cool. It also comes with 3 usb cables which can charge iPods and almost any cell phone. It has a USB port on the side of it that you connect these cables to, so you could charge your phone or your friend's phone even though your cigarette outlet is being taken up.

The lights are also really cool at night. They go nice with my 2002 Volkswagen console lights. ALSO, you can use this just like any other FM transmitter if you have an iPod or something without bluetooth capability. It has a 3.5mm headphone cord jack and a two-way cable. It's cool that you can use it even with things(mp3 players / laptops) that don't have bluetooth capability.

What a cool product... for sure one of the coolest car audio products I've ever used...hahha and my friends like it too.

Okay, so maybe everybody knows this, but this isn't just for the Android phone-it's compatible with the iPhone 4 as well. I wasn't sure of this (I've never really messed with bluetooth before) as they list the FlexSmart on here for the iPhone and the Android phone as separate products. The one listed for the iPhone is actually more money and is not Prime eligible, so I took a chance and just ordered this one. Success, it worked! So if there's anyone out there that's as silly as me wondering hey, will it work for both? The answer is YES. I have an iPhone 4 and my husband has the Samsung Galaxy (an Android phone), and we both connect to it with NO problems whatsoever.

The sound is super crisp. I've had an FM transmitter for my iPod before and not been impressed-it was static-y and wouldn't hold the signal. But this little gadget really knocked my socks off! Pairing it with 2 different phones was super easy, and the sound quality is terrific. My husband wants one for his truck now. :)

In the item pictures, it only shows the mini & micro USB and audio cords, but this comes with a little package of all the USB cords you'd need for charging if you're a multi-phone family like us (including iPhone/iPod cord). That is REALLY awesome because now I've got ONE device for bluetooth, charging and music! I can get rid of all those other cords! The cord plugs into the USB port and keeps my iPhone charged on long drives. :)

I also plugged my mom's iPhone 3G and my sister's iPhone 3GS into it, paired it using Bluetooth, and it worked flawlessly with those models as well.

I highly recommend this!!

Honest reviews on GOgroove FlexSMART X2 Wireless In-Car Bluetooth FM Transmitter

I was hesitant to purchase an FM based transmitting device for my iPhone. I was going to spend the money and get a new stereo with an wired interface for my iPhone instead. I've tried quite a few of the FM based devices before, and I was always getting interference from FM broadcast stations, even ones that were not close by. I was very surprised that I did not have that problem with this device. I traveled over 250 miles one way, going through 3 major cities, and not once did I have to search for a clean station. When I turned off power to the Flexsmart X2, there was a very strong station being broadcast on the frequency it was using, but I never had bleed through from it. Amazing. I did not really buy it for the phone capabilities, since I use a BlueAnt visor clip model, but the Flexsmart X2 is superior to the BlueAnt. No one tells me that I sound awful using it, and most people don't know that I am on a speaker phone unless I tell them. Since the audio for the phone is coming through the radio, I don't have a problem hearing the party I am speaking to, either. Only problem with it is that the flex arm seems to be a bit weak and sags after a while, but it is far from a deal breaker. I have no problem recommending purchasing this to anyone looking for a very good, inexpensive way to interface their iPhone with their car stereo.

I purchased the GoGroove FlexSmart X2 primarily to use with my Android phone (an HTC incredible) for listening to music and podcasts in my car during my daily one-hour (round-trip) commute. Pairing my phone with this device using Bluetooth was a piece of cake, and only needs to be done once. After that, my phone pairs with it automatically whenever it's turned on and within range. The sound quality of the music that gets transmitted to my FM radio is actually quite good, and I had little difficulty finding a spot between stations that was free of interference. This unit appears to be pretty good at transmitting with enough power to be used without interference even in an urban area where the the FM band is pretty congested.

I've only fielded a couple of phone calls while using this device, but in both cases I could hear the caller clearly through the FM radio, and the caller reported good sound quality on their end.

Although I bought the FlexSmart X2 for use with my Android phone, I'm now using my iPod Nano as the source of music and podcasts (because Android is still lacking a nice solution for syncing with iTunes, and because most Android media players seem a little flakey). The included audio cable connects to my iPod's headphone jack and the audio in jack on the unit. The unit still pairs with my phone and interrupts the music if a call is received, which is nice. One thing worth noting in this case is that the volume button on the FlexSmart X2 does not appear to work when a device is connected via cable like my iPod. It does work with a Bluetooth device, though.

The only complaint I have about this unit is that if I connect either my phone or my iPod using the USB cable to charge, I get hum in the audio. It turns out that, for my purposes, I don't really need to charge either of them in the car, so it's no big deal.

One thing to remember is that if you decide to listen to another radio station (I have XM in my car and switch over to that sometimes) and your phone is paired with the device, you'll want to turn the device off to avoid missing a phone call (because you won't be listening to the audio being generated by the unit).

Overall, this has been a great little device for me, and I use it daily.

***Update April 22, 2012: Still going strong after six months. I'm now back to using my Android phone with this unit via bluetooth. I found a great free Android player (Rocket Player by JRT Studio) that I use in conjunction with iSyncr (also JRT Studios--not free but inexpensive) to keep my phone in sync with iTunes. Rocket Player handles podcasts with ease--just what I was looking for.

It came in the mail VERY fast! When you receive it check to see if you can 'plug' the tip of the cord that also plugs into the wall outlet into the cord whose tip plugs into the navigation system.... not checking for this little detail will lead you you to believe that the power cords only work when held in placenot easy to do. You will see that the power cord in 2 parts: one long cord that goes fomr the power outlet to the connector cord. you come to the 2nd power cordthe 'connector cord.' It goes from the power cord I jsut talked about and into the navigation device. Make sure all cords are as attached to each other as possibleand you have your self a dependable power cord that does not need that cigarette lighter outlet that you have in your carBE SURE TO GET A POWER ADAPTORa good investment as it will charge anything!!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE POWER CORD that NO ONE else sold (best buy and navigation systems company did not sell!!!!!!!!!)

These were rated for 12miles and if you've ever done any research on these type of 2-way radios...regardless of the rating, if you're able to get a 1 mile range from them, you're a lucky few. I fully expected that disappointment. However, what I did not expect was that the rechargeable batteries that it came with were aweful. On a full charge, it barely lasted a trip to the mall on less than mild usage. Btw...there is no indicator to say if it is fully charged. I charged it for the recommended 10 hrs. Anyway...I had another pair of refurb Uniden that I got for almost nothing...that pair was just as good, if not better than this one which I paid $45 including shipping. Not a recommendation.

In my opinion the 260's are a great buy. I love mine, my wife and I use them all the time. The range that we have tryed so far is 1 mile in house and up the road they did fine no loss of reception the best feature of the cobras is the hands free talking I just love it I can work on a power panel and talk to someone at the circuit. I am an electrician by trade. The are lite and compact and they did not cost a arm and a leg. I think there the best deal for the money out there!

My needs were pretty close, about 1 mile. We were shuttling people, using 4 radios. Clarity was good, having to switch channels occassionally. Easy to use. We use for 6 hours at a time. In the future, I will carry spare disposable AA batteries if the rechargeable batteries lose charge.

The sleek design and very convenient manner in which the charger cable locks and retracts totally sold me on this item. It's small enough to easily fit within the palm of your hand and store easily in a small niche in your vehicle. I was initially concerned that because the charger wasn't officially sold in conjunction with the Kindle Fire that there could be a problem with compatibility; there is absolutely no problem. In addition, this charger is purported to fit some cell phones. It does not work with my iPhone, but if you have a phone with a small connector such as the Kindle has, it should be able to do double-duty for you. Very nice product!

The good.

I got a pair of these for Christmas and have used them while out Kayaking and to keep track of where people are hunting. The terrain is 100-150 foot bluffs leading down to the river and full grown hardwoods covering the 1000+ acres we were in. Reception broke up some at the bottom of the bluffs, but was crystal clear on land. Transmission and reception distance was checked using a GPS and two miles through the woods is the limit. The F.M. radio feature was nice I sat and listened to music paddling and during lunch. Whenever someone would talk the F.M. radio would stop and I could hear conversations clearly. After a second or two pause the F.M. radio would start playing again. It also stops when you transmit. I set the default display for the clock and ended up being very convenient and will likely be left there. The alarm clock/radio feature does work so you can leave one more thing home when you travel with it. If you are used to setting electronics up things are relatively easy considering this is a multifuntion device. The hardest part was figuring out what the two way settings were actually used for as this was my first FRS radio. The NiCads evidently did the trick, I used it all day and the display indicated more than half a charge was left.

The bad.

The belt clip is O.K. on a belt, but if you want to clip it on your upper body so you can just push the button to talk back you will have to work to make it stay in place. I did not like the vox feature as it was too hard to make it transmit even with sensativity set high. The earbuds will have to go and be replaced with the unit that hooks on the top of the ear. I had to keep my stocking hat on all day and rolled down to keep the ear buds in place. The only other thing that I noticed was whenever you recieve or transmit the E.L. backlighting automatically comes on and times out slower than the timer for the F.M. radio to come on and you get to listen to the interference caused by the backlighting module.

The ugly.

I did initially buy the 6320 but returned it as the description of the features in the Cabelas catalog is wrong. It costs more and does not have the F.M. radio built in. Too bad! I would have paid the extra money just the get the amazon green cover. It is just my opinion but the 6310 which is the model I like the best is also the worst color. Such is life.

Would I buy it again? Yes. Will I recommend it to my friends? Yes.

I have used the Talkabout 250's for about 1 year. The 6310 performs just as well, and has many additional features that I find useful. Also, I get about twice the battery life over the 250.

The only drawback that I have found over the 250, is that it is not as easy to change channels. Also, the user interface is not very intuitive.

However, if you can use the extra features, the 6310 is a great radio.

This is a good charge controller, you can't beat the price. This charge controller has all the good bells and whistles of more expensive name brands at a fraction of the cost.

I have it hooked up to 350 watts, 20 Amps, from my solar panels and it is working great. The LCD screen is nice, definitely worth a few extra bucks, I can know exactly what my battery voltage is at anytime I want. This charge controller is able to use 8 gauge wire connected directly to it, bigger wire means better power flow. I plan on adding to my home built solar setup and this charge controller gives me that option. I am very happy with my purchase. It was shipped fast and the company even with the broken English was very helpful.

It's small, portable, and well built. However, there are limitations and downsides.

Typically, a good rule to follow is that you need about 1 crank amp per cubic inch of motor. So, 225 would be enough for 3.7 liter motors, in theory. Realistically, it's enough for about 3.3 liter motors at a maximum. I tested this jump box on 3 different vehicles. 2 of them with 3.5 liter V6 engines, and 1 with a 3.0 V6. Both had totally dead batteries. It could not start either of the 3.5 motors, but did have enough power for the 3.0, though it struggled. I bought this to replace a jump box I've had for 5 years that had 300 Crank amps and was strong enough to start partially dead V8 motors of 5.6 liter and 5.3 liter sizes, but after time and use, they die out. It's gotten to the point where it can't start my totally dead 3.5, which is why I purchased this one. Bottom line, if you have a 4 cylinder car, this jump box will work fine. If you have a small V6, it will also work fine. If what you typically encounter when you turn the ignition is the sound of the starter bumping, but not turning the engine, your battery isn't totally dead (your radio and other things like windows may still work, if a bit slow) and this jump box should provide the boost required to start your vehicle. If you have a big motor, don't even bother with this item. I give it 3.5 stars, since it's practical, but limited. For the price, it is a great item to own.

...guys and gals, the trick to using this gem of a tool is to use it as a trickle charger for the "dead" battery. Clamp this little guy on, and allow 10-15 minutes for it to do its duty (the wait time is trivial-how long would you wait for AAA?). REMOVE the clamps and clear the Clore unit safely from the vehicle, and turn the key in the dead vehicle. This way is safest to recover a disabled vehicle (no sparks, no explosions or fire, no melted or shorted wires or cables, no injuries...), be it a car or a 1-ton pickup-with ANY size battery.

JUST keep it charged; that's all it asks of its owner...

The 12V outlet is nifty (its cover, disguised as a utility light, is a clever idea-use it for small-space illumination); I use it to power my netbook and my tire inflator...

I look forward to sharing many years with this clever tool...

I have a large motor home with a number of batteries, all of which I foolishly allowed to die in my driveway since I didn't use it for many months. Since I couldn't get my car near the RV to jump it, I thought I might try this charger. Although the charger didn't have enough power to start this large vehicle, I was able to plug it in and trickle charge the batteries for a few hours. I don't know if this is recommended procedure, but it turned out to be a good solution to my problem and got me going with no apparent damage to the charger.

Honest reviews on Clore CS1000 CarStart Ultra-Portable 900 Peak Amp Jump Starter

I've had mine for at between 5 and 10 years. I know that I've used it maybe 10 times in all. It has worked perfectly 9 out of 10 times. The only time it didn't work we had discharged the battery of our Ford Escape V6 until it was totally dead. Then and only then it didn't work. I have a really heavy Jump & Start portable jumper and that wouldn't jump start the Escape either. So, I have 90% success and the one time it didn't work, I don't think anything else would have worked either. I am not an expert, but I've have nothing but good experiences which has left me very confident in this unit. Yes, it's small. I think that's a good thing.

On several occasions when I've helped people who's batteries are dead, they are amazed at how well it works, particularly because it's so small. I have jumped SUV's, small cars and larger cars. It has been my experience that this unit is just as reliable as my larger, presumably more powerful unit. I charge it up about once a year and that's all i've done for years to maintain it. After reading many of these luke warm reviews I don't know if I would buy this, but the fact is, it's so easy to use and it almost always works! I prefer it over the two other units I have that weigh at least 3 to 4 times as much and are much larger as well. I guess if you have an 18 wheeler then you probably shouldn't rely on this, but if you don't have an 18 wheeler why would you want something that big to jump your normal sized car or SUV? I give this an enthusiastic 5 stars.

I have a larger all-purpose jump starter (with inverter and air pump), which I keep at home or tote with when I use one of the trucks or cargo van. But, for my passenger vehicle, I wanted something small, inexpensive, and just powerful enough to start my 4 cylinder Hyundai Sonata. I don't need a ton of crank amps to turn this engine over, so there's no point in paying a lot for big heavy SLA I don't need especially considering how reliable my car has been with its new Optima battery. For my purposes, this is perfect. It's value priced, has enough muscle to start my car up without difficulty (I've done a few tests), recharges quickly, and is a fairly sturdy & compact design. At such a low price, I won't feel guilty if it's lost, stolen, or only survives a few seasons in the trunk. It also makes a modest power source to recharge portable electronics, via the 12V DC socket. I'm quite pleased with this purchase, but I recommend folks evaluate their needs before buying it it's not really suited for bigger engines.

Jan. 2013 Update: Despite being two years old, this still works well. I was able to successfully start two cars today, in brutal cold weather. One was a I4 Toyota Camry, and it started right up as I expected. I had my doubts it could turn over my clients' V6 Cadillac SLS, though. The Caddy's battery was weak, but not dead, so I figured I'd give it a shot before I went to pull my car up and jump car-to-car. To my surprise, I we got it started on the first shot, after having it hooked up for 10 minutes (we didn't have more time). Nice! I'd still rather have my bigger jump starter, if I had to jump bigger vehicles, but at least I'm assured this is a quality unit.

Sept. 2013 Update: I had to jump a neighbor's V6 Hyundai Veracruz, which was stuck in their garage. The two of us couldn't move it, we didn't have jumper cables long enough, and there wasn't anywhere to plug in a charger. I knew this jump starter wasn't powerful enough to turn this, so I left it connected for 30 minutes to trickle-charge the battery, and we were able to turn it over on the first try. My CS1000 is almost 2 years old, and it's still working well. It has survived all that time in my trunk, which speaks of the rugged build quality. I'm still glad I picked it up, though I sort of wish there was a way to replace the SLA cell, as it must be losing capacity after 2 years. Fortunately, the CS1000 is inexpensive enough, that I won't mind too much when I buy another.

I bought this product as an add-on to my CTEK battery charger specifically because the photo showed TWO of them but the package had only ONE of them in it. The connector itself is high-quality so I have no issues with that, it's just that I assumed I would receive what I saw in the photo.

I purchased this CTEK connector to replace the original which came with the charger. The 7/16 eyelet is large enough to connect easily on the battery (something the original could not). This connector however, does NOT come with a built in fuse.

Recently I needed to use my old (1999) lantern and it didn't light

properly. Thought a new battery was needed so ordered and received

a replacement. No instructions but by removing 4 screws in old

battery cover installation was easy.

Thanks Rhino. Thanks Amazon.

I found an old battery powered lantern that belonged to my daughter (20 years ago). I decided to see if I could get it working for her to use in case of a power outage. The battery in the unit would not take a charge. The replacement battery I received was excellent. It was charge and ready for use and an exact fit. My daughter and her kids think the lantern is great. My daughter had forgotten about it since she hadn't used it in nearly 20 years. Good price, good delivery and a good fit.

Still going strong. Battery lasts a long time, without recharge. Well worth the price, and one fourth the price locally.

This product arrived in a short amount of time and was exactly as pictured. The sound quality is much better than the stock Blaupunkt (alleged) speakers in my car and the amperage handling was compatible with the Sony WX-GT77UI head unit that I installed which pushes 17 watts RMS and 52 watts peak per channel. I installed them in the front doors of a 2004 GTO and didn't really need to cut out the backing cups (as suggested on Crutchfield) after having attached the provided wires first. It was snug but fit fine.
