When I was looking for car chargers for my Samsung Galaxy S 4G, I was kind of disappointed in the lack of reviews. I ended up getting this one because of the price and the fact that it has the retractable wire.
After a year of use, it is still a wonderful item! It did seem to get hot at first, but now it just gets to a decent warm most chargers become. Other than the great retractable cable, I also like the blue light when it's active, although I turn it so it faces down so it's not too distracting while driving!
This charger is definitely a great purchase. I'm very glad I bought it a year ago!

Review of Car Charger for SanDisk Sansa Fuze Series MP3 Player - non OEM
This is a great charger for my Sansa E200 series and Sansa Fuse MP3 players.
1. Was very inexpensive
2. Shipped rapidly
3. Worked right out of the package
4. Charging while in the car is much faster than connected to the USB, but I don't think it is quite as fast as when I plug it into a wall outlet with my other charger.
The drawback for me was that when charging I could not play the MP3 player plugged into the car's MP3 jack. This is probably an issue with my car's sound system more than having anything to do with the charger or MP3 player but it may be important information to know when considering this purchase.
You CAN listen to the MP3 player as it is charging in the car if you use headphones though.
EDIT:::::::
About 13 months after I have purchased this item, it will not stay in my Sansa Fuze to charge. Still at the price of a few bucks, it is still worth the price to me! But just keep that in mind that it may not function for great lengths of time

I bought this so that in case my fuze battery died I could continue to listen to my music and podcasts on the road. Well this thing works great for that on my vuze v2. I use one of those things that uses a cassette with a cable that plugs into your headset jack if that helps anyone.Best Deals for Car Charger for SanDisk Sansa Fuze Series MP3 Player - non OEM

I bought this charger, used it once and then left in my glove box. A week later I needed to charge my Sansa again and the tip literally fell apart. The casing around the metal tip fell into two pieces, then the metal tip disconnected from the flimsy power and negative cables, leaving me with a completely useless charger. Spring for something more... in this instance you LITERALLY get what you pay for.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Car Charger for SanDisk Sansa Fuze Series MP3 Player - non OEM
I use my Sansa in the car almost explicitly, and I was sick of it losing battery while I was driving. Bought this and with shipping it came to just a few bucks. WORKS GREAT! So affordable and works like a charm. I did notice that the actual plug itself is coming loose, but it snaps back together easily, but just keep an eye on it. Other than that, great product for a fantastic price!EDIT:::::::

If the iphone 4s is turned on while charging, it says that this accessory is not supported and stops charging the phone.
The first charger they sent...didn't work. The lady that responded to my e-mail was very pleasant and did ship replacement, but the second charger didn't work either. I wrote and asked them for prepaid label so I could return items, or get refund. Haven't heard back from them. The item was inexpensive and I don't want to waste too much time on this...but don't recommend their inferior products.

The charger came in the mail as I was leaving the house and my phone was running low. I brought it with me and plugged it and charged up the phone. Why I love this product is the retractable cord. In the storage compartment of my car I have so much stuff including other products with cords and they get all tangled up. I can just throw this in the storage and never need to worry it will get tangled up with all my other junk! I was also concerned about the plug. It was fine. It has a lock that you need to pinch in order to unplug it, but it's no problem. Only gave it 4 stars because I don't know how it will hold up. The cord is quite thin but I'm optimistic it'll be okay since it's retracted most of the time.Best Deals for Rubberized Retractable Car Charger for Apple iPhone 4S (Black)

I received the item fairly quickly from the seller. However when I opened it, it was not rubberized like the description. Buy Cell Phone Car Charger for Samsung Intensity SCH-u450
Works flawlessly, and so cheap! I would buy another if I get another compatable phone.
I came to Amazon.com looking for a better deal and here I found it. This product was so inexpensive, I was worried about whether it would work or not. I bought two one for me, one for my hubby...and both are working perfectly.
They arrived quickly and in perfect condition, just as they look in the photo posted on the product information page. The only thing I don't know is how long it will last, because I have only used it a few times. But at this price, even if it lasted 6 months, it would be worth it (not that I want that; the waste in this world is already great enough!).
I would buy something from this vendor again.
This time, it WASN'T "too good to be true"!
Cheap and unreliable!

I was excited to find such an inexpensive car charger, but after a week found it was too good to be true. Very cheap plastic. It broke within only a few days. I tried to superglue it, but the pieces are so tiny that it didn't go so well. If your time isn't valuable to you, take a risk & get this. For me, the time it took to attempt a return (I found it almost impossible to contact seller no answer at listed phone #) and then attempt to fix the charger (at least 1 hr) was not worth the $5 saved. My hourly rate is much higher than that. Go with a better quality product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cell Phone Car Charger for Samsung Intensity SCH-u450

As with so many products on Amazon, a big part of my beef with this charger is the minimal description. In this case it's actually misleading, implying that this is a highly versatile charger, which it isn't. I instead turned to an owner's manual that I found online, which is generic and likewise describes several functions (including adjustable current settings) not found on this unit, which is specifically designed for charging your car's starting/accessories battery, or for standard lead-acid 6 or 12 volt deep-cycle batteries. The unit seems to be fairly solidly built (in Mexico), a rather old-fashioned design based on a heavy 60-Hz transformer rather than a switching power supply. It's nevertheless microprocessor-controlled, and does a decent job of charging up your car battery without overcharge. However, it's not recommended for anything smaller than 40 Ah, which would exclude most motorcycle and lawn tractor batteries as well as UPS batteries. The only available settings are manual/automatic-SLI/automatic-deep-cycle and 6V/12V. There's no separate AGM setting, for example, even though those should have a different charging profile than flooded batteries. Overall, it's an OK product for its limited purpose.

A bit more difficult to use than I would have liked, and stops working at times. It has three settings manual, automatic, and automatic deep cycle. It's not clear to me when to use which setting. Sometimes it stops charging in automatic mode, but if I switch to manual, it starts charging again.Friday, July 18, 2014
Best Hobart 500539 Trek 180 Battery-Powered or 115-Volt Corded Portable Deals
I was on the fence for a while as to if the Trek 180 was really worth the money and would actually serve my needs. I worried that the duty cycle and battery life might make this welder more of a novelty than a useful welder.
My primary reason for considering the Trek was it's off the grid welding capability. My family and friends are in to sand cars and nearly every trip some one breaks some thing and the car is down for the rest of trip. Usually a simple weld job would get the car back in to play and save the trip.
Given the cost of fuel alone to haul a trailer full of toys to the dunes the cost of the Trek 180 is irrelevant! Nothing worse than going for a week long trip and having a break down on the first day.
I considered a corded 110 welder and borrowed a Lincoln 140 to see if I could run if off my Honda 2000i generator (great little geni), but it was not near enough power neither was the 2500 watt inverter in the toyhauler. So a corded 110 welder was out. Plugged in to garage the Lincoln 140 was able to make some decent welds on my buggy frame, but had to cranked up to 95% of it's power to make an acceptable weld.
Well I took the plunge and ordered the Trek 180 any way.
When it arrived I lifted it out of the packaging and it was smaller and lighter than I expected. The out side of the Trek is made like a military style hard polymer ribbed case, very robust, I am surprised Hobart does not mention this in there description.
After charging the Trek for 2 hours per the instructions prior to the first use, I set it up at power level 6 of 10 and welded a 4" piece of exhaust tubing to a 1/4" flange. On battery power only I was able to weld all the way around with out the charge status light changing at all. The weld was better than I expected, very little splatter and very nice bead after knocking the flux off. I did not even have to grind the weld to pretty it up!
This was another concern I had, how well flux core welds would end up looking, would I need to get a tank of gas to make a pretty welds?
Other cheap flux core machines from Harbor some thing made ugly though functionable welds and I was not about to spend this kind of money for those kind of results. As already stated the Trek makes surprisingly nice welds and I am no longer considering purchasing a tank.
Back to welding, I took a couple of scrap pieces of 3/16 thick steal 6" long and welded them from one end to the other. I did this a couple of times and then turned the Trek to full power to see what it would do. Welding over the top of the previous welds I made it about 5" sweeping side to side about 3/4" wide before the low voltage light came on and I had to stop.
I was able to weld the first project and the test pieces all on one charge. No question at all I could repair any of the break downs I have had on a single charge!
The next day I decided to see how well the Trek would do plugged so I used two more scraps of 3/16 by 1" by 6" and started welding set to power level 8 I made several passes taking some breather breaks and found I could weld about three times as long while plugged in only loosely respecting the recommended duty cycle.
On battery the machine performs as advertised, but while plugged in the Trek welds hotter and for at least as long as as any other 110 welder I have used.
The Trek 180 does many things well an is with out question the most powerful 110 welder you can get, while you are not going to be able to open a fabrication shop using this machine, you will be able to most every thing the average DIY guy needs to do. This machine is quality!
much better with .30 wire and smaller. Simply plan on making multiple passes and
you will find that the welds are very good quality. I wouldn't bother setting it
up with gas as it's endurance simply isn't worth the trouble of all the extra baggage.
It really shines as a flux core wire emergency welder which can take on some of the
fieldwork usually reserved for big gas powered welder. Just having it sitting in
my work truck gives me such peace of mind as it can certainly tack together most
equipment problems well enough to finish the day and then properly repair it. Has
saved me many thousands in just the few months I've owned it.
I have found I can get a 1/2" weld about 4-6" long on a single charge. Takes a bunch
of passes and cleaning between them due to the light wire but we're only talking about
15 to 20 minutes of time to put a down machine back to work at least though the end of
the day.
I can't recommend this welder strongly enough.
i just took it out and welded the exhaust back together on my car. since it's fairly thin metal i had it turned down low, i probably did about 10 minutes worth of actual welding and the battery didn't die. the welds look good (for a beginner trying to use flux-core on thin, rusty exhaust pipe) and the welder performed well.
all in all, awesome. i'm glad i finally bought it!! i would recommend it highly.
**one thing hobart missed though: since it's marketed toward off-road types and can be charged with a power inverter, why not also have a 12volt charging port? it has two 12-volt batteries inside so it probably would have been pretty easy to charge them directly from automotive power. instead, to charge in your car you need to get a power inverter to convert your car's 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC so the welder can covert the 120 volts AC to 12 volts DC to charge the 12 volt batteries... even still, this welder is great so far and i plan to get a power inverter so i can charge it up where ever i bring it.
if you're on the fence, just do it!! you won't regret it!!
I have only used it for flux core use so I cannot comment on its ability to weld with gas.
I would recommend this machine to anybody needing needing to weld off grid for small repairs or can only use 110 v.

hi! i bought this welder because i needed a portable welder that i could use without being plugged in. i live in a 3rd floor apartment in brooklyn, so i need to weld outside and i don't have access to power when i'm out on the sidewalk. it was a toss up between this, the broco goweld, and the readywelder, but this won out because the other two aren't adjustable for voltage (unless adding or removing batteries counts) and with the other two, you will need to provide the batts and a way to charge them, and carry them. this one is a little more expensive, but i think it's worth it. in fact if you don't already have 2 or 3 other batteries around and a charger this might even end up being cheaper!!i just took it out and welded the exhaust back together on my car. since it's fairly thin metal i had it turned down low, i probably did about 10 minutes worth of actual welding and the battery didn't die. the welds look good (for a beginner trying to use flux-core on thin, rusty exhaust pipe) and the welder performed well.

Honest reviews on Hobart 500539 Trek 180 Battery-Powered or 115-Volt Corded Portable
I recently bought this welder and I absolutely love it, its portability! I'm a weekend DIY (do-it-yourselfer) guy, and I have been welding for about two years now--so I don't ever get involved with anything more than 1/4" thick metal at the most. Anyway, I really like the option to be "off the grid" and being able to haul this welder anywhere (e.g., camping, four-wheeling, to a friend's house for a quick-fix welding job for them, in a parking lot, etc.). It is extremely well made, durable, and easy to setup. My first fabrication project involved upgrading the wheels (casters) on a Craftsman "creeper" that I have had forever. I wanted casters with brake knobs on them, so when I am laying underneath a vehicle using the creeper I would not roll around when I am wrenching on a tough bolt. The problem was the upgrade 3" casters with brakes that I bought from a local Harbor Freight store could not spin freely; the larger casters were hitting the creeper's frame rail. So I welded tiny, rectangular 16-gauge steel plates to cover over the existing four corner holes for a total of eight weld points (4 plates on each side of the frame), then drilled new holes just to the inside of where the previous holes were so the casters could then spin freely from their new location. The short version is the welder performed flawlessly, with good penetration, a nice even weld puddle, and sharp-looking welds, even at lower voltage using .030 E71T-GS wire. Once you get your settings dialed in for the job at hand, you won't want to stop welding with this machine.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Hobart 500539 Trek 180 Battery-Powered or 115-Volt Corded Portable

Belkin MiXiT Home and Travel Wall Charger with USB Port - 1 AMP / 5 Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $24.99
Sale Price: $20.00

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Nearly every modern electronic item comes with a USB-type charging wire (iphone, micro-USB, mini-USB and so on). Not all come with the USB wall plug. This Belkin travel wall charger is just about the size of the standard iphone charger and it actually works with my iphone (not all of these are formatted for use with iphone I found that out the hard way) most of the time (very infrequently, I get a message stating that charging "is not supported" with the device but I unplug it and plug it back in and it's fine). I don't think that has anything to do with Belkin since this works with every other device I own including my Kindle 2 Reader. For those people who have become accustomed to charging their devices via the USB port on their computers, this little gem will make your life easier because it charges devices quickly and efficiently and is handy enough to carry around in a pocket or keep in a desk drawer at the office for charging any USB charged device.
Love the fun design and pop of color, which makes it easy to find in my handbag when carrying it around.
Another good, quality product from Belkin.

* Ultra-compact
* Plugs into any wall power outlet
* 1 Amp/5 Watts
* USB connection
* Use your own 30-pin or 8-pin charging cable
The charger is small and only takes up one outlet on the wall so you can plug other things into the wall outlet as well. The size of the charger is perfect if you want to just stick it in your pocket or put it into your purse/bag when you are on to go. It comes in 6 different colors that add a pop of color to the device. The only downside is that it did not come with a cable like many other chargers do. Any cable that comes with your Apple device will fit it, and any standard USB cable will fit as well. But if you are wanting an extra cable you'll have to purchase it seperately.
Overall, a great little charger. I will be using it whenever I travel.
If not for the Kindle Fire HD, I'd have rated this 5 stars (maybe 4.5 stars due to high price). Since that may be a deal breaker for some, let me mention it first.
I plugged this into a P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor to monitor how much power it is drawing from the mains. This is to have a rough idea of the efficiency. When I looked at how much power it draws when charging the Kindle Fire HD 7", I was surprised to see it fluctuate between 0 and 4W, changing every few seconds.
Wondering if this is a problem with the Kill-a-Watt, I unplugged it, and plugged it into the wall directly (and picked a different wall socket just in case). I can no longer observe the power draw, obviously, but I noticed something on the Kindle Fire HD. While charging, the battery indicator fluctuates between green (charging) and white (not charging). I tried turning off the screen. Within 5 seconds, the screen turned on again, indicating that USB power went away and came back. I powered off the tablet (not just the screen). Within 5 seconds, it powered back up again.
The Fire HD will draw up to 2 amps if the charger is able to supply it, but it will happily charge at a slower rate from less powerful chargers. I've charged it without any problem with my cell phone charger (750mA) and the USB ports on my Belkin power strip (1A).
It might be a defective unit I'll contact Belkin and update this review if I hear from them.
The unit itself is compact, attractive, and appears to be well built. Plugging it into a wall socket will not block the other plug. The pins are not polarized. Markings on the unit indicate that it will work with international voltage range I am unable to verify personally for the moment. The 2 pins do not retract or fold that would have made it a bit more compact and less prone to damage when packing it into a bag. It would be nice if there's some texture on the sides to make it easier to grip, but I had no problems unplugging it. The USB socket itself is tight, so cables will not drop out easily. There's no indicator lights on the unit it's a plain, simple 1A USB charger.
I plugged it into a Kill-a-Watt to measure power draw when not charging I wanted to know what's the standby power if I leave it plugged in all the time. There's definitely some power draw, but it was not high enough to register on the Kill-a-Watt (below 1W). I left it plugged in for 24 hours and it didn't show up under kWh either. Assuming 0.01 kWh (the smallest resolution Kill-a-Watt will show) leaving this plugged in all the time will waste less than 0.3 kWh a month less than 10 cents for most people. If that bothers you, unplug when not in use, or use a switch like Belkin Conserve Power Switch.
I measured the power draw when charging, and it appears to be quite efficient. The resolution of the Kill-a-Watt is not detailed enough to give much accuracy for low power usage, but enough to see that there is not a lot of loss. The plug itself doesn't get warm either, indicating that not a lot of energy is lost as heat.
I tried recharging my cellphone (Galaxy Nexus), a USB external power supply / battery (Motorola P4000 Universal Portable Power Pack Retail Packaging Black) and even used it to power my Raspberry Pi. They all worked without any issue (the Raspberry Pi is finicky about power supply, and needs a stable power to run reliably). I left the Raspberry Pi running for a couple of hours, ran software updates, installed some packages, and there were no hiccups at all. I don't expect there to be any problems with iPhone and iPod, though it is worth noting that despite iPhone 5 being prominently mentioned as supported, it does not come with the Lightning cable.
It's a shame about the issue with the Kindle Fire HD. I suspect the iPad (2.1A maximum, but can charge from less powerful chargers) might give it fits as well. I'll see what Belkin has to say about this issue.

I ordered two BELKIN MIXIT HOME AND TRAVE WALL CHARGER WITH USB PORT 1 AMP / 5 WATT, a different color for each of my girls, being a family that is huge on iPods. As a mother, iPods have been a blessing in many ways. What's not good is when someone's iPOD needs to be charged. My kids would plug their iPod into the computer I was using, creating a disruption for me as it automatically brought up iTunes. I was so excite to discover they have a charger for outlets. What a lifesaver it's been. Now my girls can charge their iPod touch themselves, anytime, anywhere. While lying in bed, they can charge their iPods as they play games. When going to a friends, they can easily take along their charge, so lightweight, and small.Technical Details

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Belkin iPod/iPhone/iPad charger is another great little product from their line of chargers. It works with the iPhone 4S, iPad mini, and my iPod Touch 3rd generation. Not much to say about this besides the following: I got this in neon pink and this beautiful blue color and use them as travel chargers. I keep the blue set in my car and the pink set in my bag/purse. They are adorable and function just as good as the apple products do Except they are snazzier up with a pop of color!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Belkin MiXiT Home and Travel Wall Charger with USB Port - 1 AMP / 5
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Note : The Kindle Fire HD is NOT listed as a supported device on Belkin's website for this device, but I thought the symptoms are severe enough to note here. After all, it is just a USB power supply, and should work with the Fire HD.If not for the Kindle Fire HD, I'd have rated this 5 stars (maybe 4.5 stars due to high price). I bought my Ctek 7002 In Jan of 2011.
It died last week. I called Crutchfield where I got it, It is no longer carried there.
They did give me the 800 number for Ctek. I called and explained it was not showing anything. No Lights at all.
I was given an address and asked to send it back, No RMA or anything. I was not expecting much back, maybe an answer and a cost to repair. I came home today and UPS was dropping off a box. I Did not order any thing.
To my surprise it was a brand new Ctek 7002 with all cables in new box.
I had expected a call with a price not a new unit.
Customer service is AAA+ quick to get back to me.
I think It was a total of 7 days since I shipped it to them
I will recommend a CETK EVERYTIME from now one
Thanks CTEK
CTEK Multi US 7002 12V Battery Charger
I used this on a friends battery he was going to recycle due to it being dead. He tried charging it on his battery charger but it wouldn't take a charge. I put the CTEK 7002 charger on it and it charged it right up. I used the Reconditioning mode on it, and now my friends charger shows the battery as good and will apply a charge to it. I know some other chargers claim they can do this as well, but I can only speak to this charger and what it did. I highly recommend it, although it seems a little pricy, it's well worth it.
On a side note, I thought I had an issue with this charger and sent an email to CTEK on Sunday evening. Monday morning I had a response from Matt, the Regional Sales Manager, and he assured me it was working correctly; my hats off to Matt and CTEK for the fast and courteous response and the outstanding product.
It's not as suitable as one of those old-style boxes for blasting a quick 50amp charge into a completely dead battery to get the car started the charge rate is an approximately steady 7 amps until the battery is charged. The old style chargers may begin at 10, 20, or even 50 amps, then taper off rapidly below that as the battery begins to take a charge.
One thing about most lead-acid car batteries you really don't want to let them get completely dead, or they permanently lose some of their ability to take and deliver a charge.
As promised the unit when first turned on does an "analysis" of your battery to determine exactly what is needed. If needed it will go into a reconditioning phase before charging begins. From there everything is automatically controlled supplying just the right amount of current and charge to the battery to charge, maintain, and condition the battery. I have been the victim in the past with other chargers that apply too much charge and "fry" or litterally cook a battery to the point where it is rendered useless. This unit prevents any of that.
Bottom line...love it. Highly recommend it for todays technically advanced batteries. And it's super lightweight and compact.
The charger maintains the battery at peak level, and will not overcharge the battery. The reverse polarity protection also works quite well. I hooked it up at night and misread my positive and negative terminals. No harm to my battery or the charger after having it connected overnight. Fixed the hookup and charged up the battery inside of a day.
The cables provided allow you to use either alligator clamps or bolt on the eyelets onto the battery post clamps as I have mine. This works great! I highly recommend this charger.

I bought this charger mainly for the Desulphation, Reconditioning and the Supply modes. One thing I hate to do, when I have to change batteries, is having to reset all my radio stations, and run my vehicle around to get the OBD computer to cycle through all the emissions stuff so it runs right. With the "Supply" mode I don't have to do that anymore because it supplies power until I swap the batteries. But also I like the fact that you can't reverse the polarity and damage the battery and its anti-spark technology. It's simple to use and understand without using the manual to figure out what the different lights mean like some others. This charger tells you exactly what mode and what part of the cycle it's in, and if there is an error with the hook up or battery it shows that as well.I used this on a friends battery he was going to recycle due to it being dead. He tried charging it on his battery charger but it wouldn't take a charge. I put the CTEK 7002 charger on it and it charged it right up. I've always owned the typical 15lb car charger. This is quite a step up in technology smaller and lighter than a quart of milk, and comes with a nice enough carrying pouch for the charger and any accessories you might add. I also bought the cigarette lighter attachment, so I don't even have to open the car's hood/trunk and remove the battery terminal cover to charge the car. This is a good choice to keep an infrequently-driven weekend car (or boat) topped off. I feel much more comfortable keeping one of these connected for battery maintenance than the old-style dumber chargers. It's not as suitable as one of those old-style boxes for blasting a quick 50amp charge into a completely dead battery to get the car started the charge rate is an approximately steady 7 amps until the battery is charged. I purchased this charger for the purpose of charging an Optima blue top series dual purpose AGM battery. The unit is fantastic! I ended up using it to charge a whole slew of other batteries as well, including a standard lead acid deep cycle battery and a smaller battery for a jet ski.As promised the unit when first turned on does an "analysis" of your battery to determine exactly what is needed. This charger remains in my old 85 T-bird to keep the battery topped off. This car is not driven very frequently so the battery goes dead. I have another charger, but it is old technology and can not remain connected for long periods of time. The CTEK stays connected always. In fact, I have it tied down with cable ties in the engine compartment. The charger maintains the battery at peak level, and will not overcharge the battery. The reverse polarity protection also works quite well. I hooked it up at night and misread my positive and negative terminals. Reviews of Garmin 3790T (Nuvi) Standard Red LED Wall / AC / Home Charger!
This is a product that does what it is supposed to do. It works well with no problems. When I purchased the 3790, the AC charger was not included. This fits the bill very well.
