The base and suction cup are great quality and attaches nicely. I was looking for a mount for a Galaxy Note 2 and this one came up and appeared to fit the bill. When I got it mounted, the Note 2 didn't fit well. You have to angle it just right in order for it to charge properly. I have already gotten rid of the packaging so can't send it back and had to buy another one. I don't know if it is designed for the Note 1 and the changes were just subtle enough to make the mount not suited for the Note 2. Shame on me for not keeping the packaging, but a little disappointed that the description was misleading.

The good:

1. The sliding micro USB connector connects and disconnects from the device very easily.

2. Many apps have functionality that is only activated when dock connector is engaged (eg. Spotify actually switches to landscape orientation).

3. The phone fits the mount perfectly, and looks nice mounted on the dash.

The bad:

1. There is very annoying interference from the car engine when using the audio out from the dock. I tried two chargers (including the official Samsung car adapter), and two audio cables, thinking it may be a grounding issue, but the interference remains. My Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth hands-free/charger has no interference at all, so I have to suspect this dock is at fault.

2. The package did NOT include the mounting plate that was advertised.

3. The suction cup doesn't adhere to any surface (including the glass) for longer than 15 minutes without falling off. The mounting plate would probably solve this had it been included. I was uncomfortable leaving my phone in the unit for fear it would take fall damage, until I worked around it by milling two channels through the base with a Dremel tool, and driving two bolts directly through it and into my dash, mounting it very securely.

4. The dock angles up and out at a steep angle, and the plastic isn't rigid enough to support the weight of the phone, causing it to shake a great deal while driving. The phone fits so tightly that it's in no danger of falling out, but the rattling noises caused by this are extremely annoying. I fashioned a kick-stand out of a small aluminum rod to solve this, but a product should not require this many workarounds.

Other thoughts:

I can't fault Samsung for their precision engineering on this, but this dock is incompatible with every case I have, including the 0.2mm ultra-thin case I purchased hoping it would fit. If you feel a case is a necessity to protect your camera lens, look for a different dock.

This jewel is very light to pack a 50Amp punch. I connected it to a battery insufficient to turn over the starter. The guy working on the house left his light on in the truck bed. I connected the charger to the battery while in the 2Amp mode, then plugged the battery charger into the 120VAC receptacle. I then switched it to the 50Amp selection and allowed to charge the battery for 4-5 minutes. While the charger was still connected to the battery, the guy was able to start his truck. Man was I blown away. Following the instructions, I changed the charging selection switch to the 2Amp mode, disconnected the charger from the 120VAC receptacle, and then disconnected it from the battery. How sweet no arcing, no sparking. This is a must have!!! Excellent value and quality.

I bought this charger 3 months ago and it failed this morning when I plugged it in. There was no load on the charger as the alligator clips were well separated and definitely not short circuited. Being an engineer I took the cover off, traced the circuit diagram and ohmed-out the transformer to find that the transformer had failed. It is not repairable.

UL approval requires that the hot wire of the power line first go to a circuit protection device (fuse or circuit breaker). There is no visible fuse or circuit breaker in the 120V circuit. The hot power wire goes directly to the transformer, which is a gross UL violation, unless there is a fuse inside the transformer, which I cannot determine since it is a sealed unit. The neutral wire goes to a switch which chooses different transformer taps for different output current settings. Thus, it appears that the 120V circuit must be protected by the house circuit breaker.

A small point, the 50 amp. output is unlikely since there is a 35 amp. 12 volt breaker in series with the negative DC output lead. This, of course, does not protect the AC side of the circuit.

Be very careful with this product as it may be a fire waiting to happen. If you own one I suggest that you place it on a concrete floor far away from any combustible materials. Do not place this unit on a wooded work bench while plugged in to AC power.

Overall this unit functions perfectly, and its light weight and ample AC cord and battery cable length make it easy to hook up and use. Except for an old used service station charger that was given to me, I have never owned anything but Schumacher chargers, and have never had one to fail. The old Schumachers that were replaced with newer models with upgraded features were all handed down and continue to serve family and friends. I ordered a model SE-5212A several months ago, and was very impressed with the upgraded features, especially the over-charge protection. This feature is a real worry-free way to keep a full charge on my lawn equipment batteries, my boat batteries (including conventional deep cycle and starting batteries). I have not had a need to use the 50 amp start feature on an auto battery, but I did use it on a small garden tractor battery. The tractor engine started with nearly no effort. I really believe this is the best charger for any of us do-it-yourselfers regardless of price. I was so impressed, I just ordered a second one so I can keep one in the garage and the other in a detached shop.

I really like this charger but it has a major flaw.

The good points are that it provides a lot of current and it's very lightweight. You also get a constant current charge. If you set the charger for 20 amps you get a full 20 amps until the battery is near full charge and then the charger switches to a voltage mode and the current slowly decreases as the battery is fully charged. Very nice.

The major flaw is that you can't charge a completely dead battery. If the voltage is less than 4 volts, the charger is programmed not to work. How stupid is this? Somebody left a light on in my boat and drained the battery. I couldn't charge it. I had to get out my old "stupid" charger and get the voltage up before I could use the Xantrex. So which charger is really stupid?

Since this charger is "smart", it could simply run a few amps through a completely dead battery for a few minutes to see if the voltage comes up. If it does then continue with a normal charge and if it doesn't then give it up. Xantrex needs to re-program.

Being a commercial fisherman I've dealt with many charges and this is the best portable one I've ever used. The design quality is excellent but the build quality is only fair since it's made in China, you might get a bad one. I had to take mine apart and reposition the control panel because it was shifted to far up and you couldn't see the indicator lights. Charges a full 40 amps and I've had no problems with it for 6 months. A completely dead battery won't charge until you either zap it for a second with jumper cables or use an old style charger for a few minutes. The 3 charging stages work as described.

Works well, but sometimes the smarts are not smart enough. Some times it charges a full or nearly full battery at too high an amperage and you know it shouldn't. You turn if off then back on, and it acts properly. Sometimes it won't charge a battery in bad shape, but a simple & stupid charger will. I'm on my second. The first would go into equilizing mode by itself, though the engineers at Xantrex couldn't see how that was possible! All in all it's a nice device and a worthwhile purchase.

Though this dock is extremely well built and sturdy it's still not as well done as the original Droid dock. It takes two hands to get the phone to snap into this contraption, and THREE to get it out. It snaps into place then there is a locking mechanism for added sturdiness. That said, once your phone is in the only way it's coming out is with extreme force. Comparatively speaking, the OG Droid dock was very simple but very effective. I could get in the car and just snap the phone right into place with one hand. Same for removal. (minus one star)

The one upside to this dock is that it has the built in charger port. Once you plug your cord into the back of the dock you don't have to worry about fumbling around trying to plug it in while you're driving. Downside to this is as mentioned above, it takes some force to get the phone to snap into place and I think over time this is going to shorten the life of the phones charging port itself. (minus another star)

As far as what the phone does once plugged in, pretty much the typical car home-screen. Options for phone, nav, maps, etc.. If I could take another star away for not being able to change any of the car-home icons I would, but since I'm only reviewing the dock I wont. You can exit the car mode while docked but once you exit you have to remove the phone and put it back in dock to get back to car-home. I blame HTC for that blunder and hopefully they will fix that with the next software upgrade.

All in all this dock is good, but with all downsides I can only hope a third-party comes out with a better one. Until then I will just have to put up with a three star device.

***Just in case anyone was wondering, you have to remove any case or skin in order to dock the phone***

I bought this the day the phone came out and have been using it religiously ever since.

I don't know why the previous reviews have been (what seems to me) overly critical of this item, but rather than focus on that, I will tell you my likes and dislikes of the dock.

Pros:

-Suction cup works very well, never falls off.

-Fully adjustable mount, allowing a ton of viewing angles, landscape and portrait modes.

-Plug charger into the base clip, not the phone. (No need to unplug charger from phone.)

-Headphones/Stereo cable has clips. If you plug your phone into your car stereo or a wired headset, you can clip the wire in the back of the base so you don't have to find the wire every time.

-Your phone isn't going anywhere! As previous posters have stated, the phone is quite difficult to get out of the mount. I find this a positive as I don't want my phone flying out if (knock on wood) I were to get into an accident and possibly injuring me or passengers. The phone is really easy to get in the dock and has a "locking" clip to secure the phone on all 4 edges.

-Compatible with DailyRoads Voyager app. This app records video/pictures and/or audio while you are driving. (Helpful if you are in an accident or given a ticket that you didn't deserve.) I've found that the Video/Picture works best when the dock is dash-mounted and in portrait mode.

Cons:

-Stock Car Dock app is very basic/bland. This really isn't a Car Dock issue as much as it is a HTC issue. I don't have a Stock phone (rooted) and I use a nice little app called Car Home that negates this Con.

-It is a bit tough coming out of the dock. The best solution to this that I have found is to put the phone into lock/sleep, then use both hands to get it out (one holds the base, the other grabs and pulls the phone out). I've gotten used to it so this isn't nearly as big of a deal as I first thought. This is the only reason why I took a star off the rating.

All-in-all, I have to say this is a great accessory to have, and it is cheap as well. I remember paying twice the amount for my Droid X Car Dock. HTC also has to resolve the fact that when you plug something into the headphone jack that it mutes the phone's microphones (so if your cable has no mic on it, you can't talk to someone on the phone), but that is not an issue with the car dock offered here, that is another knock against the phone.

Feels cheaply made, and Thunderbolt will not fit into dock with any sort of case on. That's huge I think because most people have cases on their phones (I have a Seido hard case that works great, but is a pain to take on or off) I use the Ardon Generic Car Dock and it works great, but also a little cheap as well.

This is a good mount for the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt. The only negative I give it is that it only fits with the standard battery with no case. Even the desktop cradle fits the extended battery. Mounts very well to the windshield and has not fallen, even in the Texas heat.

I bought this impact wrench after considering air powered and electric wrenches. Air involved the purchase of a compressor and all of the other stuff you need to properly operate air tools. The electrics were certainly priced right, but were big,heavy and required a heavy gauge extension cord to use any distance from their power source.

Happy days for me when I came across this impact from Milwaukee. I love my other 18 volt lithium ion powered Milwaukee tools and decided to give this impact a try. As usual, Milwaukee came through with a compact and powerful tool that has great ergonomics in your hand and does what it says it will. The bonus of not being tethered by an air hose or electrical cord is just icing on the cake.

This impact was purchased to remove the nut that holds the drive sprocket on my motorcycle. Torque values for this nut are 95 ft. lbs.. The Milwaukee impact spun the nut loose in about 2 seconds. The adjustable trigger pressure on this impact also made it possible for me to pre torque with the impact and follow up with a torque wrench to reinstall the sprocket nut.

You can tell by now that I am very pleased with the Milwaukee impact wrench 2663-20. I highly recommend this impact wrench.

I feel like this impact could tear anything apart. Lug nuts, even way overtorqued, are spun off instantly. I haven't really found a tough enough fastener yet to put the torque capacity to the test.

It's longer than an air impact and heavier. But not too heavy, and maneuverable enough. Before I got my 3/8" m12 impact, I gladly used this to spin off 10mm bolts. It's pleasurable and quick.

I used this for two days working on my car last weekend and the XC battery is still showing the full 4 bars of charge. I really don't understand why anyone would use an air impact for most automotive work. I feel sorry for the guys at tire shops toting hoses around. What a waste.

The compact m18 would probably be enough for most work, including tire changes. I got this because I didn't ever wanna come up against a fastener I couldn't break loose (I've had my share of frustrations with cheap air tools). Once I saw how well this worked, I decided I wanted something light and maneuverable for small fasteners, and got the m12 with xc battery (apparently m12 with standard battery is too weak). The m12 can break loose bolts torqued to 65ftlb (my tests), and this m18 takes care of everything else. I'm a happy man!

If you ever want to try out an impact wrench to determine whether it has the guts to get it done or not try taking out a crankshaft bolt. These suckers are notoriously tight and almost no electric impact wrenches can handle them and only the best air impact wrenches less than 3/4" drive can handle them. THIS WRENCH CAN HANDLE THEM. Took off my crankshaft bolt, which had never been remove in 15 years from my 3800 engined Grand Prix with hardly even breathing hard. That a cordless tool could have this much power is astounding.

A great little battery tender for maintaing your boat. Got one of these a couple months ago to keep my sea ray boat battery charged up at my lake house. This is a really good value and it does everything I expect it to. It works really well with motorcycle batteries. It maintains the battery through the winter months when it is parked in the garage and maintains the battery very well, as it provides a constant trickle charge to the battery to get the battery topped off. Ok they advertised the battery with F2 terminals, but shipped the smaller F1 terminals. Not a big enough deal to protest but I wanted everyone to know. Also these are batteries are removed from equipment but probably brand new. How to I know? The terminals had marks that they were attached to equipment. They worked ok though.
