Preliminary review: I ordered two of these chargers (they're so inexpensive and I knew they wouldn't last forever). I've used the first charger for two months. Yesterday my phone died and I noticed the charger wasn't working. OK, I can understand that. But I left the charger plugged in and periodically kept trying to see if it would work, hoping it was just a loose connection. Later in the day a smell of burning plastic was noticed coming from the charger. I unplugged the charger at that time. There's no obvious damage on the outside of the charger but I worry about a potential fire hazard. I'll use the second charger starting today and I hope the same problem doesn't happen again. It's one thing to stop working; another to start to burn...

I had to give this 3 stars because it only lasted about a month before it went bad and stopped working. In terms of usefulness, it worked well for the first month, I could plug my ipod into my auxiliary port and keep it charged with this device, but as soon as I pulled it out of the packaging I could tell by the way it felt that it would not be a long term investment. I've had this product since March 19th and it has already stopped working. When it was actually working, the "retractable" cord was a real headache. Most of the time, the cord did not retract all of the way and other times you just had to fight with it to make it retract all of the way. I do not think the cord is the reason the charger does not work anymore, I think the fuse in the head of it went bad and needs to be changed, but this product is not designed to be taken apart. For me, this was nothing but wasted money.

I have an 2011 Toyota Sienna and had this professionaly installed with a idatalink bypass. All went well and took around 4 hours. Alarm has great range, many features, sesitivity is nice and self adjusting.two paging remote is easy on the eyes and easy understandable. To change features or functions I suggest that you read the manual well, it has many features that customizable. I dropped the remote on the streets of hard concrete and was concerned that it was damage but to my surprise there was no harm what so ever. If I had another vehicle I will choose this remote time and time again. I see no differece in the phython 991 which was installed in my wife vehicle, same features and great distance.

This product is very good, it has been working great since May, 2011. It was a DIY installation,I took one star off because Autopage's technical support staff was asking for $30 service fee when the product is still under one year warranty for the LCD remote. The problem with the remote control was at one time keeps loosing communication with the alarm unit in my Tacoma truck, while my non-lcd was working fine at the same location, I contacted Autopage and got an email from them asking for $30 fee if I want my remote to be repair, I responded back with question why ? and also their website indicated for one year!, never got any respond back from Autopage's support again. The problem might have been leaving the remote unused for a few weeks might have caused it loosing communication with the alarm module in the truck.The problem has corrected itself,Viper is also another good car alarm maker the reason why I didn't buy a Viper because they do not provide any kind of warranty for a DIY installation period. If Autopage is heading the same direction as Viper I may as well buy a Viper in the future.

First off let me say that this device is very,very nice...it has a sleek metal finish and has so many features that fits just about any security measure you have, its cheaper than most high end remote start/alarm systems with just about the same functionality...don't pay the 1star reviewer any attention...you must be very technologically illiterate to not be able to work this alarm...its just like using a cell phone. I bought this kit about 3 months ago. Took some time to peace everything together required to install it. First off,the instructions are useless. The power inverter that comes with the kit is useless. It's made to use in your car for a laptop or some other small electronic equipment like a small TV and a light? (maybe) I purchased a Xantrex Prowatt SW1000 and the remote switch from Amazon, WORKS GREAT! The battery tester is another useless piece of junk included in the kit. It's just two diods that light up.(YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT IS PICTURED IN THE KIT). The mounting brackets for the solar panels are really not practical but could be used if you have nothing else and plan on mounting your panels nearly flat on the surface of your roof. But I would not recommend that unless your roof points due South and is at the right pitch for your location. I made a frame out of angle iron that works very well. The charge contoller works,(at least mine did) but it's not the best. (MINIMAL PROFROMACE AT BEST) I would suggest a MPPT charge controller like a Morningstar, Tristar TS-MPPT-45. The panels seem to work very well so far. They do work in low light conditions. I have been able to fully charge four T105 batteries everyday that have 60%-65% of their charge left. But with the Sunforce charge controller it takes all day long in full sun. I have ordered the Tristar 45 and I'm sure I will be able to charge the battery bank in much less time. Just do your homework and you'll find the same answers. Also note that Sunforce customer service is a joke. Simon will tell you all kinds of silly things before he will give you an RMA to return product. My friend bought two kits when I bought mine and he had to return both of the charge controllers as defective right out of the box. It's been over 6 weeks now and nothing. Simon does not answer his emails and they have not returned his charge controllers to date! Also please note that the solar panels IN THIS KIT ARE Polycrystalline and not MONOCRYSTALINE. The discription is really not accurate. It reads "The Sunforce 260 watt crystalline solar kit". It does not tell you anywhere in the add or on their website if the product is Poly or Mono???? Buyer beware.

Bottom line: Amazon is awesome and very easy to do business with and their customer service is very good. SUNFORCE is not straight forward with their discription in the ad, you will not get what is pictured and customer sevice is terrible!!

Panels worked like a charm. It would have been easier if it had any REAL instructions to build a frame or mounting system.. Had to get my 8 grade geometry books out to figure out how to build a sold frame from angle iron purchased separately.. the tester was not what was displayed in the ad.. just a diod on two wires. But after 5 days of struggles and an additional $200 in parts (and another $200 for batteries), it works like a charm and powers my electric fence and work shed lights. Hopeing to get a larger setup next year to 'grid tie' into our electricity. But for now, it's still working after 2 months of straight use.

I was surprised by the quality of the panels upon arrival. Very well built. The ease of installation and overall performance are great!! Makes supplementing grid power a breeze. My only gripe(s) are the picture on Amazon shows a digital test meter for checking solar performance. But it actually came with a dinky LED light with a wire attached for testing! Also read the operation manual for the charge controller at least TWICE. This unit can be a little confusing to understand the display if you don't. Overall I am very pleased with its performance but its very pricey.

This Solar Kit had most everything I needed to get started with an off-grid solar application. In my case, the application is powering a DC freezer. The panels themselves met/exceeded expectations; the label on the panel and the instructions say "Monocrystalline" so I believe them and not another reviewer, but don't know for certain.

First thing I did was take a panel into the sun, and it showed strong voltage on the little LED meter included in the Kit. I built a frame for the first panel and put it up on the roof, connected it using one of the two included 20' sections of 10-gauge wire (2.5mm) to the included Sunforce charge controller, and then connected that to two marine batteries. The single panel is supplying over 8 Amps peak and in one full day it filled the batteries to the point where the Controller shifted to Float mode exactly what I'd expect.

I also connected the included 200W Inverter to the batteries and it worked as expected powered a coffee grinder because even off-grid I gotta have coffee.

I haven't put up the second panel yet, but plan to soon. When I do I will replace the included 10-gauge wire with 6-gauge bought from Napa Auto; I believe the included 10-gauge wire is undersized.

Bottom line the system works as expected for home use. I'm very satisfied.

Outback-FX3048T Review

The outback line of grid tie (sell back) solar inverters has proven to be the most flexible and tolerant of surges of all the inverters on the market. Why? Maybe that ugly black case with optional data display somewhere else where it makes sense to put it. This is a 3KW/48VDC battery model which means you can run as a grid tie and sell power to the grid, if the grid fails you can run stand alone off 4x12VDC deep cell batts (I recently had a 45 min grid outage and using ordinary marine 100ah batts ran down to 2/5 charge running my house on an outback 48/3kw unit) be careful as most solar companies these days are not giving you the option to put batteries into the system and have the flexibility to run during a power failure. Obviously this is not the time to run the electric stove or the washer but if you conserve (i have alot of networking and microwave transmitters running 24x7) then you'll make it through.

The original outback I installed 5 years ago is still just as ugly as it was then but it still runs like a champ on a 48 VDC expanded battery system. Its like a whole house ups and a solar sell back system all in one. You may have to insist on the outback inverter and batteries if working with an electrical contractor as they get a rebate and really want to keep costs to a minimum, but this is your opporunity to make your house power proof for a few dollars more in the system cost.

Outback has not changed their case design but I'll live with its looks for the performance I get. They also make a 24 vdc system if you do not need the power of the 48 VDC battery (8 x 6 V gates batteries work well but you will need to maintain them) Either way amazon achieved very good pricing on these units.
