This charger gets the job done; considerably more effective than the Battery Tender also sold by Amazon. The unit is pretty easy to use but requires the user to push a button to get to the proper setting every time the unit is attached to the battery; not a big deal unless you expect someone else to operate the unit. While operating, the unit shows a red and amber light; I'm kinda surprised that such a sophisticated until doesn't have a more intuitive light system one that uses a green light for a battery at full maintenance level.

The best way to describe this charger is with a list of pros and cons.

Pros:

1) Price very reasonable, especially when compared to some of the bad designs that are out there at this price point.

2) Fully automatic operation to include a true trickle charge mode. Many of the other chargers available claim be fully automatic, but they are not. This charger analyzes the battery's type, condition, how well it is taking the charge, monitors the entire process and automatically initiates a de-sulphate mode when needed and ends the multi-phase charging cycle with a true trickle charge mode. The computer control prevents over-charging and damage to the battery. Several of the chargers available that are touted as "automatic" actually do nothing but follow a preprogrammed charging cycle regardless of the battery's condition. This leads to over-charging and damage to the battery and can be extremely dangerous. I've seen several posts on other products stating they left the battery to charge and came back some time later to find a battery essentially boiling over.

3) Compact. This charger is about the size of a purse.

4) Relatively cool running. This charger will get slightly warm (my garage is about 115-120F in the summer), but by no means hot. I've used other chargers that get extremely hot and you don't have the confidence to leave it to its work unattended. I've left this charger (and the smaller 8 amp version I use to charge my Odyssey battery) unattended for days at a time without a problem.

Cons:

1) The design could incorporate higher quality/stronger clamps. This version is better than the smaller 8 amp version, but still a bit on the weak side.

We use this A LOT during the summer months when my husband is constantly charging and re-charging trolling motor batteries. It tends to get hot, but seems to be very effective and quite effecient. It's the 2nd one we've had and we don't really have any complaints with it.

This stereo completely fills my needs to replace the basic and standard factory stereo (On a Mazda Protege DX 99'). If it's the first time you're trying to replace your old car stereo, this is a great choice.

What I like about this Stereo:

Great value for your money, definitely a worthy upgrade of your old factory stereo.

A very nice set of options and adjustments for the quality of the sound (Bass, Treble, Fade, Balance, EQ).

Did not alter the quality of the sound of my car. Big thumbs up!

Easy to install if you have the correct tools.

Easy to use. It's not a complicated User Interface.

What I think it should be different but does not bother me much:

It will not allow you to see the clock during your commute for longer than 10 seconds, it will switch back to either the station or the song's name (if you're USB, AUX or MMC), it should allow you to see the clock or the music information to your choice.

It won't display the names of the songs completely, it has a character limit.

Hard plastic makes it feel cheap, but it certainly does not look cheap at all.

Screen should be brighter during sunlight, you can barely see the information if it's a very sunny day. It looks gorgeous at night though.

It will read the music via USB/AUX/MMC based on how they are ordered in the card or device.

What I dislike about it:

After a proper installation, every time I accelerate with the car, it makes a whistling noise. I was not paying much attention to it at the beginning, but now it's starting to be very annoying.

I purchased the XO Vision XD103 to replace the radio in my Jeep CJ7. I chose this radio due to its small profile which is necessary for a CJ7 replacement. The depth of the radio is about half that of others making it ideal for a CJ7. After having problems with another low priced radio I took a chance on this one. I'm glad I did. This radio was simple to hook up, had all the necessary parts and so far has worked great. By no means is this a top of the line radio but it does it's job well at a low price. If you have a vehicle with a very small space to accommodate a radio such as a CJ7 and don't need a super fancy sound system, this is a great option.

I was a bit skeptical about making this purchase. I own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top and on a normal day it can be difficult to listen to music because of the outside noise. For starters, I had this stereo receiver professionally installed. I was advised to purchase a harness and an in-dash installation kit for the Jeep. I found this stuff at Best Buy and their techs explained why I needed the stuff. I just picked up my Jeep and the stereo looks great. I wanted to test out the USB port because I would like to travel without my MP3 player and it worked amazingly great; I liked the shuffle/random play. There is only one file on the USB device so I am not sure if I can select different folders or not, I will test that later. The sound was a bit off, at first, and I played around with the bass and treble to get the rich sound that I prefer. The stereo is equipped with an equalizer but I kept mine on Flat and made the settings to suit my liking. I drove the Jeep on a highway at 65 and having a soft top means it would be near impossible to listen to music, nicely.... I had that problem with the manufactured stereo that came with the Jeep. I had to turn the stereo up to 27 and the sound came through loud, clear and very rich deep tones. I am not sure how high the volume can go but before purchasing this stereo I had to keep the volume turned up so 27 seems reasonable on highway and in regular city I only had to have it set between 15-20 I think this was the best $25 spent and even with the additional money spent harness, in-dash installation kit and professional installation it still cost less than $150.00. I would recommend this stereo to anyone who is looking for something inexpensive with a very rich sound. Someone who has no need for a CD player and AM radio and is willing to make a little investment into making it perfect for their vehicle.

******Update:

I have now used the SD Card slot and I have set the clock to the correct time. SD Card slot is awesome, I like the shuffle and random play. Depending on how many files you store in the SD card can make the difference if you are looking for a specific song. You can scroll through the files but that can be time consuming. My advice, keep it simple I sort my music by genre and only place favorites on the SD card. The sound is great and the best part is I can keep the card in the slot, no cords or USB devices sticking out from my dash very clean look.

I set the clock to the correct time. It's not as bright as the other stuff but if you press clock while listening to music it shows the time at the same brightness as the other information being displayed and after a few seconds it goes away and the scroll of music information continues.

I still love this receiver, I have no complaints.

When I got this item, I followed the instructions, and it did not work. I looked on the internet and saw a tip to not plug in the automatic charger while using it to play music. It works fine doing it that way. I was able to find a station on 88.3 fm. I can charge my player overnight. I am liking the ability to play music from my Sandisk MP3.

For me this FM transmitter is coming through clear as crystal with no interferance. This is my 1st purchase of a transmitter and I'm glad I chose this one.The only surprise was that when I plugged the charger cord into the clip zip it would stop playing. But that's no biggie,I just plug it in at night so it's good to go the next day.In fact my Samsung phone charger fits the Clip Zip! How cool is that? This is my 1st mp3 player as well,so I'm just enjoying myself all the way around.Buy this transmitter!

I needed to get more transmit power out of my Ham radio when operating off of battery. I used this and worked the boost circuit to 13.8VDC the sweet spot for the rig and I now get 100% transmit power. Low noise and fairly reliable even at high duty rate.

Honest reviews on 150W DC-DC 10-32V Boost to 12-35V Adjustable Power supply Mudule

These units are advertised to be 150 watt boost converters but that does not apply across the full range of its output voltage adjustment. For example, at 32 VDC output the maximum 100% duty cycle current is about 1 amp or 32 watts. Also, these cost about 6 dollars each on a well known auction web site direct from China.

If you want a good unit I would recommend searching for this one:

"Boost DC-DC Converter Power Supply Step-up Module 10V-60V"

This is a much higher quality unit and will put out 3.3 amps at 35 volts which is over 100 watts, much more current at lower voltages.

this item works very well with the usb chord plugged into a computer, but the power chord option prevents the touchscreen from being used. somehow, the touchscreeen lags when the power chord is plugged into certain wall outlets. i work infront of a computer 8 hours a day, so this is not a problem for me, but i would have returned the item if it had to be plugged into the wall!

Regardless, I'd recommend it to anyone that needs a dock for their desk.

I have a Droid X and I was getting tired of plugging my audio jack cable into the phone and the receiver on a daily basis. I bought this so I can just plug it into my head unit, then stream audio over the bluetooth connection. This part works well and haven't had any issues with it.

The microphone thing, eh, not so good. When talking on it, I hear that people tell me that it sounds like I'm going through a wind tunnel. Maybe it's where the microphone is positioned, or maybe it's just the product. I thought the noise cancelling part of this device (dsp?) would fix the wind noises. Guess not.

The other thing is that it is true that you have to charge this before you use it. I have it wired into my car so that it's constantly charging. I always have it plugged in, so I never have to worry about it. Before being able to use it, I have to turn it on by hitting the button. My complaint here is that it would be nice to have it automatically turn on when it receives power. Then, have it automatically turn off when the power source is removed.

I originally bought it to stream audio to the head unit over bluetooth. Does it do it? Yes, and it does it well. The other things, I'm not so sure about, but it's not a huge issue for me.

I bought this to replace the usual in-car cable which I was using to pipe podcats, audiobooks and music from my Iphone to the dash stereo through the latter's AUX input. I didn't really care about the calls aspect, since I never make or answer calls while I'm driving ("Dude, I'm busy *driving*, OK? If it's that important, leave a frakkin' message!")

This unit *should* work for my purpose: It pairs easily, stays paired, and streams consistently, with no fuzz or breakups. The audio *quality* is comparable to the cable. Only problem: I have to crank up the in-dash unit's volume setting to the max just to hear the stream at a normal volume! I don't have anything like this problem with the cable. Using the cable, I can put the volume at 25 and listen comfortably; with the motorMouth, I have to pin it at 50 (that's the top end on my dash unit) to hear it at the same general level as the cable. And it's not like I'm testing the Bluetooth range; the Iphone is in a (Schosche!) plastic dash mount not 4 inches above the AUX input jack. Unless there's some kind of wild impedance mismatch between the mMouth and my AUX jack, I have no idea why the audio signal coming from the mMouth is attenuated so badly I have to jack up the volume so far. This is a total deal killer for me, since I don't dare use it; if I forget to crank it back down to a regular level before switching to the dash unit's FM tuner or a CD, I practically get blasted out of the car! $52.99 wasted; I'm back on the cable.

Best Deals for Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming

This was a gift I received, and i was stoked abut hooking it up, since my primary use for it would to streaming my tunes from my cell phone. Hook up was simple for me, then came the testing of the motormouth II. Pairing it with my cell phone was seamless, no issues, once paired it remained paired. Streaming music pretty simple, worked lovely. Using the motormouth II to make and received phone calls was pretty good, not bad. Haven't got any complaints about noise while driving and talking.

Now for the cons, the battery charge doesn't seem to last very long at all, on light use, the USB style charger cable, is way to short, making placement options limited. The cable itself seems a bit cheap for a device price @ $70+.

All in all, this handy little device can solved some of your Bluetooth, music woes. On a chart from 1 5, five being the highest I would give this device a 4 star rating. Why?

1. Design/size could be better

2. Materials could be better for the price

3. Battery life could be much better

Honest reviews on Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming

I was initially happy with my Motormouth II, but I soon found it was fragile. Simply plugging it in caused the plastic case to split apart. A little superglue fixed it, but weeks later, it ceased taking a charge through the supplied cable. A quick call to Scosche later, they sent a replacement cable free of charge. But THEN, the Motormouth would randomly drop the Bluetooth connection while in use. When you have to take your hands off the wheel and your eyes off the road to re-establish the connection with your phone, it kinda defeats the purpose of Bluetooth, doesn't it? To complicate things, the little red and blue lights that are supposed to tell you what it's up to are invisible in daylight, making it that much more frustrating to try to diagnose why it wasn't working half the time. Was the battery dead, or did it just have a random failure?

On the plus side, when it worked, it worked well, with good call sound quality and seamless switching from streaming audio to phone calls. However, some basic weaknesses with this setup are that you need to turn it on when you get in the car and turn it off when you get out (or the battery will die more quickly). Also, it will work only when your stereo is in the AUX input mode. If you want to listen to FM radio and automatically receive a Bluetooth call, no dice. In other words, if you're looking for the hands-off and forget-about-it convenience of a factory-installed Bluetooth system, you'll have to spend a bit more for a system that interfaces directly with your car's stereo and not just with the input jack.

It depends on what your intended use for this product is. I have a 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ with an AUX input jack. So this device is perfect as it is small, lightweight and out of sight, all while streaming my audio from my phone to my Bose sound system. Audio quality is awesome. I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality, but was pleasently surprised.

If you want this for a bluetooth calling adapter to patch phone calls into your stereo, you will be greatly disappointed. I can hear my callers perfectly, but have not received great feedback from those I have called. I get comments like "huh? What? Say that again? I can hear you, but can't make out what you are saying? Are you in a tunnel? etc etc. I have tried multiple calls, while driving, parked, parked with engine off.... Call quality is horrible!!

Pros: Bluetooth audio streaming, lightweight, easy to connect.

Cons: Call quality, battery life

I saw this exact same item at a shop that I get my tires, batteries, alignment, etc. done.

I had to get a new battery one day and one of the guys brought this out and plugged it into the OBD port to keep the electronic memory from losing everything while the battery was being swapped, I wrote down the info for this item and searched for it, forund it here and bought it, now I don't have to go to the shop for a battery swap, I can do it myself at home.

Well built and easy to use. Works like a charm. Only reason I didn't give it the 5th star is that the owner can't replace the internal battery, which will mean some down time at some point in time have it serviced.

Honest reviews on Schumacher INC-7A-OBD On-Board Diagnostic Connector

If you ever need to change out your car battery and you need to keep all of the programs stored in your cars computer, then this is a must. I had the dealership change some of the factory settings on my truck to improve the performance, but the problem is, if you removed the car battery then you loose all of your upgraded settings. So when you plug this into the OBD II port, it allows current to stay in the computer and you don't loose your settings...

Best Macally USB AC Charger for iPod (White) Deals

Macally USB AC Charger for iPod
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

USB Ac Charger for Ipod Device MCALLY has engineered this device with features which are of particular use to commuters and travelers. First of all, Mcally's slim design increases packability in pockets, briefcases or iPod travel cases. The charger's A/C plug folds back into the body of the charger further improving ability to stow the charger when not in use. The slim design has additional advantage of enabling the unit to be plugged into surge suppressors or wall outlets where clearance is at a minimum. Although Mcally does not include a charging cord, the iPod's USB cord permits sufficient link to whatever type of iPod you may have. Some may argue the cost of Mcally's iPod charger (roughly same as Apple's charger) to be excessive. I would argue that advantages of Mcally's charger offset the cost, especially if you need an iPod charger for commuting or travel. Please note that appropriate travel adapters may be needed outside the U.S.

Works great, reliable, well constructed, and at a great price; costs less than half what others cost. Have bought a bunch because they are so inexpensive. I give them to family members for their phones/mp3 players and sso I can have one in different locations. Simnple to use. Charges mp3 players and most phones just fine. I am sure that it will at least run or extend use time for even the most power hungry phones. A great feature is that even though it is charged with a mini-USB, it uses a USB-A (the typical USB connector) so you can use any USB cord with the connector your device needs.

This review is based on ~8 months of use. Purchase price was $70.

This starter pack is useful if you have a car that sits a lot, and you cannot use a float/trickle charger (like at an apartment). I telecommute most of the time, so my car battery does not get charged much by the alternator. I noticed that the battery in my car was no longer zippy (starts up fast when the battery is good), so I bought this starter pack to supplement the car battery. I would use it multiple times before I recharged the pack. The car battery eventually became severely damaged (interior lights were completely dead) due to lack of use/charge and this pack started the car up on the first try so I could get to Sears.

Stanley recommends that this pack be charged every month, regardless if it is used or not. After the purchase of a new car battery, the jump pack sat in my car for a while, but still held a charge. It was able to start the car of a stranded motorist after not being charged for weeks.

Note that this starter pack cannot run a tire pump from the cigarette lighter outlet as the amp draw is limited to .5amp. Get a different unit if you plan on using it for this purpose. The LED light is quite dim, but better than nothing when you are on the side of the road without a flashlight.

Buy a short extension cord to charge this jump starter, as it does not come with one.

I recently purchased the Stanley Jump Start for myself, and what a great item this is. Totally portable, charges off a common extension cord into your own outlet(s). Not too heavy, many features like a light attachment, a USB port, neatly accomodates the cables. Well worth the price, and I found out about it from my AAA service for dead car batteries. I love it when people share great buys.

I am rating this unit at three as I am not sure yet if it is defective, or just not very worthwhile. I bought it about a month ago, and charged it fully as was recommended in the directions. A week later, I had the "opportunity" to use it and it failed to jump start my neighbors riding lawn mower. The battery on the unit did not did not hold a charge. I put a charge on it again, and will see if it holds this time. I should think a week between charging and using should not render the battery so weak as to not start a little lawn mower!

Honest reviews on Stanley J509 500 Amp Jump Starter

Charged it when I received it per instructions. Then when I went to use it... nothing. I tried the battery test and it showed no charge. Got a refund. Also, cables are so short you have to set it somewhere in the engine compartment.

This product works exactly as advertised!!! Buying this from Amazon was a big money saver and peace of mind considering that Amazon was able to deliver it in one day using Prime for only $11.99 -and it only took 3 hours to charge then it started a car when the battery could not even turn the starter without clicking.

Instead of paying $45 for a jump start I ordered the Stanley J509 overnight .. got it by Noon -charged it and had a running car in less then 24 hours. So I now have piece of mind and did not waste $45 on a wrecker to jumpstart my car instead I have peace of mind for a long time to come with a great product.

Worked exactly as described -well made -and quality product. Can't ask for much more then that!!!

I bought this battery expecting something better than an acid one, it shows that it has 2 year warranty but at 15 months it failed. I live in Costa Rica now, so it is more expensive to send it and pay back to get it back. But anyway, in my life I have learned that claiming a warranty is always a way to loose money and time, a good product is when there is no need to claim it. I purchased this scanner to replace one that I had purchased at Radio Shack about 15 years ago. Comparing the two, is like comparing night and day. What I like the most about this scanner is its ease of use. It took me forever to figure out how to use all of the functions on my old scanner, while on this one I was up and running in just a few hours time. Also, the signal reception is superb, allowing me to easily scan not only police and fire departments, but also the National Weather Service, aircraft bands, ham radio bands, etc.

The scanner has a wonderful feature that allows you to hone in on local frequencies, thus taking the aggravation out of spending an endless amount of time trying to connect to transmitters that are nearby. Also, while I'll probably never use it to the fullest, the scanner comes with a built-in memory, capable of storing up to 300 programmed channels. Another very nice feature, and one that will get you up and running in no time, is the 6 pre-programmed service searches, covering the most listened to bands. You can use either two AA batteries, or rechargeable batteries of the same size. I would recommend using regular AA alkaline batteries, as I've been using the scanner for over two months and have yet to have to replace them.

The bottom line is that this is a well made, reasonably priced scanner that comes with a lot of useful features and is extremely easy to use. I give it 5 stars.

I'm a rail fan so I like to be able to hear the engine crews and dispatchers when I'm trackside. With it's pre programmed service bands, the BC75XLT is so easy to use. I found the reception to be good and when using Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries, I could listen in for hours on a full charge. The batteries can also be charged in the unit via a USB power source such as a computer or wall adapter. The unit is also simple to program if you want to enter specific frequencies or a range of frequencies. I also like that it is very compact and seems to be well built. I would recommend..

Plug it in right out of the box, do need to buy batteries. Much easier to program using the USB cable to the computer. The frequencies are available on the web, just ask google for "Radio Frequencies" and follow the prompts. The unit is sturdy and will remain undamaged if you should drop it.

For an easily programmable, portable, scanner in the $100 range, this was a surprisingly good unit. I found the instructions to be easily understood, and the software to program the unit by PC very simple and easy to use. I purchased these for our news reporters as a field unit and would not hesitate to purchase them again.
