Debated on buying the "high torque" version of this model, but when with this instead. For my needs, it's awesome. I use this pretty much for just automotive work; not a professional mechanic by a long shot, but just work on my car and friends. I swapped the shocks in my moms car recently, and this saved me I would guess an hour in the process, and it's FUN to use.

I got this one for an absolute steal on Amazon warehouse it was in used/like new condition, so I was hesitant, but it just looked like someone opened the box, and returned it immediately. With 2 batteries, a charger, nice case and the driver, $135 was just too good to pass up.

Pros: I'm a Bosch convert. All their power tools that I now own just fit well in my hand, are well balanced, feel quality, the batteries last forever, and charge quick. In fact, I don't see me looking at any other brand, they're just that well designed (ze germans, no?). If you do the math, this puts out around 135lbs/ft of torque, which is almost double what my Bosch 12v impact driver puts out. It's not heavy, it's not huge, but puts out bolt snapping torque in a small package. Two batteries included are a huge plus, even at the new price this is a great deal. They charge... insanely quick. Maybe I hadn't drained it, but it seemed like 15 minutes until fully charged, which is nuts. LED is a nice touch. Progressive trigger is also somewhat a rarity in the bigger impact drivers; this has it which is nice doesn't try to jump out of your hand. Also has the brake function, so when you let of the trigger, it just stops spinning immediately. Keeps nuts from flying out of sockets, which is a pain. Ergonomics, power, and battery life are the key features, and it's very well priced.

Cons: LED could be brighter; no battery meter.

Conclusion: If you don't work on tractors or things that require massive amounts of torque (i.e. above 130ft/lbs), I don't think there is a better 1/2 driver out there. I have a Dewalt, and now basically hate it (twice as heavy, worse battery, poor ergonomics/balance, same power). Can't say enough about Bosch tools, they are my new go-to brand when looking for anything new.

I have found the bosch impact wrench has exceeded my expectations, I thought perhaps the HT version would be required to change 4wd wheels but this does it with ease. Driving 4 inch tek screws is also not a problem. It has run well on both the slim and large batteries and is easily adapted between 1/2 drive to 1/4 hex (after market adaptor needed). Pleased I purchased this product.

It's a solid Impact Wrench, does its job very well and consistently so. I use it for the tracking my car and changing wheels often. The wrench is easy to use, has good charge, and is powerful enough to do all the jobs. It's rubberized in all the right places and you can feel the quality manufacturing of this product. I highly recommend it. I just wish it had more optional attachments for the battery so I could use bosch products everywhere.

great impact wrench. more convenient than using air tools for removing lug nuts. love the power/torque & light. only thing lacking is a way to adjust torque to prevent over tightening of lug nuts besides letting off the trigger early. this thing is powerful & will not disappoint. order some impact sockets when you order this wrench if you plan on removing lug nuts. i love this tool & will only buy bosch products from now on. since using this product i've ordered a bosch 3/8" 18 volt drill(batteries are interchangeable) & a bosch oscillating tool & numerous bosch accessories on amazon

I bough this as an alternative to using a compressor (small capacity, always refilling...) and pneumatic impact wrench . So far, I've only done the lug nuts on my wife's BMW 528. No problem zipping them off.

I like the variable speed and trigger ergonomics (as opposed to dewalt, for example), but haven't found a need for the LED work light (I'd prefer to have the option to switch it off). It's really lightweight, too.

For higher torque, I'll get the big Bosch impact, but for wheels, suspension work, etc., I think this will be fine. My only other cordless impact experience was with a snap on 1/2 18v, which was great, but when spending my own money, this little Bosch does the job just fine.

light weight and fool proof.

Some people complained it will not charge a totaly dead battery.

This is safety feature so it will not turn on if nothing is hooked up it.

To charge a dead battery you have to give it a little pre charge to get it to about 1 volt so the charger knows something is actually hooked up to to it.

To do this:

1. unplug charger from wall

2. hook battery to charger

3. press and hold "display" and "type" button at the same time

4. while holding those buttons plug the charger into wall.

* this will bypass safety features and charge the battery even if it is dead (assuming the battery can be charged at all)

do not run in this mode for more then 5 minutes or you can damage unit and battery.

this will get the battery enough of a charge so that the charger can detect a battery is hooked up to it (1 volt) .

5. unplug charger from wall.

6. wait 30 seconds and plug in charger into the wall. This will put it back into 'regular' mode and start charging your batter properly

Forgetting to remove the negative connector before storing my vehicle for the winter; the internal sytems and alarm drained the battery, and of course it was sulfated. This unit worked like a charm. The battery was down to 8 volts/15%. The SC-1200a properly began to charge, then desulfate, and slowly was able to get the battery back to 98% before I removed it to start the car. This took approximately 17 hours (700 CCA Battery), which isn't bad for a dead/sulfated battery using a charger costing less than $50. The plus is you can use it to maintain your battery on a vehicle you do not drive much. Keeping your battery charged above 98% can greatly extend the life. How long it will the charger last running 24/7? ...I do not know yet. I have only had it maintaining the battery for 3 weeks, but still no problems. It does have a cooling fan which probably should be cleaned/vacuumed occaisionally; and I've never felt the unit being hot to touch. Not sure what problem the first reveiwer had, or if the unit he had was defective or dropped before he purchased it. For a $50 charger which maintains and also desulfates a battery, you cannot beat it.

Stay far, far, far, away from this charger. I walked away from tested, good, low charge battery being charged on the 8amp setting connected to a 750CCA regular car battery and when I came back a couple hours later it was boiling and still trying to charge! I checked the charge voltage and it was at 16 volts (measured with a Fluke meter)! Bad, very bad, charger and not automatic or smart at all.

I was hoping to find the Schumacher model 7000A 2/20 Amp charger to review, but this 1200A is just a variation on the same thing. Looks identical too. After reading bad reviews of Schumacher and Vector it's clear these companies can't do anything right. Seems any product that has a microprocessor is programmed by the incompetent. Let me tell you about Schumacher speed chargers.

They won't charge batteries that don't already have a significant charge. If your battery drops below 10 to 11 volts, forget it. You'd have to have a manual battery charger as backup for when this won't charge, which eliminates the need for this thing in the first place. The explanation from the company is that the charger has to feed off the voltage in the battery, blah, blah. The purpose of a battery charger is to charge batteries, period. Then I was lied to by the tech and told if I hold down a certain combination of buttons when plugging the unit in, it would go into manual 2A mode (where the processor doesn't decide it won't charge your battery), but I sat there on the phone with him doing just as he said, and turns out no such feature exists. The manual doesn't mention anything like that either.

The charger is totally unpredictable. It almost always goes into desulfate mode. It has never completed a charge after coming out of desulfate mode, but ends in an error. Needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to start charging again to "completion". However completion doesn't seem to get the battery to 100% power, more like 80%, if that. Sometimes it won't charge at 20A and drops down to 2A. Don't know why. And according to the manual, desulfate mode can take up to 10 hours. So much for speed charge. Need to get into your car and go somewhere? Well you may need to wait until the next day.

It has a retain mode where the charger can sit there and monitor your battery and charge when needed. Figured I'd just leave the thing on my car almost permanently. But those who programmed the thing don't understand setting upper and lower thresholds. What it should do is charge up to the upper threshold, then when the battery drops below the lower, it charges to the upper again. I therefore expected it to turn on once a day or whatever. Instead it's turning on and off every several seconds, with the fan and relay clicking on and off. That's a good way to ware out the unit in no time.

It has a 70A engine start feature just incase you don't have enough juice to quite start your car, but if the battery is low enough where the charger won't charge it, the engine start feature won't work either.

My last car battery was probably only 1.5 years old before it wouldn't even take a charge. I'm beginning to suspect the damn charger might be responsible. When going into desulfate mode for instance, I see the voltage climb up to well over 16 volts. I don't know if that's good for the battery.

The simple act of charging a battery can be turned into a stressful nightmare with this crappy charger. Stay far away from Schumacher. It's clear they can't build a realiable charger, nor does it appear they've actually tried out their own products before dumping them onto the public.

Have used this charger for A year to charge my boat batteries. Never completes A cycle without having to un-plug and restart. Charged battery overnite, and found battery was boiling. Had to replace. This worked for just over 2 weeks then the charging light went out and within a few days the product stopped charging our cell phone. The lanyard does not attach to this car charger in any useful way. I use the lanyard for one of my usb thumb drives instead. It works when it's plugged in all the way, but it's small and doesn't fit perfectly into the cigarette lighter adapter. So I have to make sure I push it all the way in when I need to charge my phone. Other than that I have no issues with it. It charges two devices at a time, so I can charge my phone and something else. It has a light when it's charging so I can tell when it's working. I have it for a while and I have no complaints.

I purchased the 15 Amp Tektrum controller as pzrt of my initial set-up for my Lance Camper. The unit is compact and the set-up was very easy. Emphasis in the instructions to connect the battery first. Otherwise damage to the controller can occur. Maybe an issue with low review rating? The description clearly states the the primary charge is PMW and the final charge is MPPT When installed the constant red light means bulk PMW charge and a blinking red light indicates MPPT charge. My voltage at full charge is 13.8 volts. In my opinion is not overcharged at all. I am no expert on electronics but the controller charges my batteries very quickly and efficiently. Overall I am very happy with this product, ease of use and cost. I wouly highly reccomend this product for a "stand alone" inexpensive system. It also leaves room for expansion to my 90W panel.

We bought it and tested it through the mppt cycle, don't work and the voltage output was too high (auto detect did not work) and damaged our 12v-based equipments. Bad physical design as well.

I bought this because it was MPPT, and none of my others were so I paid more expecting better performance I was hoping for 20-30% better.

I have built 5 separate solar applications over the past couple of years at home, my boat and my cabin, so while Im not a qualified expert, i've been playing with solar for a while and I am not a novice.

I hooked this MPPT controller up to a watt-meter to get a read on watts, amps, battery condition etc while this controller was in use. I then swapped the controller out with 3 cheaper ones (not MPPT)to compare performance. I also tried with 2 batteries to ensure the MPPT controller wasnt just tapering down for a full battery.

What I found was unexpected and disappointing. Using a 15W panel in good sun, I was getting 9W through to the battery on all 3 of my cheaper controllers, but this MPPT controller would only put through about 6W about 30% LESS.

Not being an expert on MPPT, please let me know if somehow this makes sense. But it would seem this controller is less efficient than normal. I cant reconcile my experience of 30% less output, to manufacturer's claims that MPPT controllers give 30% better output???

Also, the controller makes a fast "ticking" noise as it charges which is a bit annoying if there is not much background noise to hide it. My other controllers are silent.

Unless Im missing something here, I seem to get better output from my $10 controller than this one which was six times the cost.

There is nothing wrong with this shroud except the vent and the AC on a Chinook motorhome were too close together by about 2" for it to fit. I laid it back intending to return it but never did because of the cost of return shipping. I had forgotten about it until asked to write this review. The reason for three stars only is I think the listing should have told me how much clearance was needed around the vent to install it. It is headed for Craigslist one of these days. Lost the A/C cover while on a trip to the desert. Being that this was an older RV, I couldn't find an exact one like the one I lost. Had to go to Dometic to find the new part number. Different RV's come with different color covers and each color is a different part number. Once I figured that out, I went with the cheapest one and it fits perfect. Instructions were easy to follow and I saved about $150 doing it myself.

Let me start by saying that I loved my original Ixo. I still have it and use it. The battery has worn down so low and I needed a second one anyway... so I went ahead and ordered two of these for my shop.

The old version came with a charging cradle that held a selection of 10 various bits. The new version comes in a blister package that is a nightmare to open. It doesn't have a cradle. It just has a wall-wart charger that plugs into the bottom of the tool. It also only comes with 5 bits. Bits are not an issue, as they're cheap enough. The charger is inferior in design, however. Same output power and charge time, but just not as classy as the original.

The old Ixo was made in Maylasia. This one was made in China. They kept the price point the same, but eliminated accessories and moved production to a cheaper plant. Typical business in production these days.

That said, the overall build quality appears the same from the outside. I don't know if it will run for 5 years or so as the old one did. I certainly hope so. I will come back and update my review if I have any issues with this newer model. It certainly doesn't feel like some of the cheap crap we've been seeing these days coming from over there.

Performance of these little drivers is pretty incredible. I've used them to drive wood screws a couple of inches, self tappers into aluminum, etc... I make primary use of it as a string winder for guitars nowadays. (heavy usage)

The slow speed of it makes it very torquey and yet easy to control. The battery lasts for a long time from light usage. It will suffer if you use it for heavy driving, though. The Li-Ion battery in my original one went for a couple years before showing substantial degradation in performance.

I opened up my old one and found the battery to be the very typical 18650 Li-Ion battery which is widely used in small tools and remote control cars, etc... These can be ordered online for less than $10 each and soldered into the Ixo if you are competent enough at that stuff. I will be replacing the battery in my original one and continue to use it in the future.

If these new ones start to degrade, I will swap those batteries as necessary. The motor, gears, electronics, switches, etc... all seem to hold up really well.

Compared to the Ryobi Tek4 mini driver, which I have used extensively, this one is far more compact and delivers the same performance. They use the same battery (although the Tek4's modular batteries are sealed in plastic and not replaceable, and likely similar motors. The Ryobi comes with a clutch, but it makes the tool clunky. The Skil delivers with something that you can actually stick in your back pocket and no frills. The Ryobi looks more like a power tool and this one looks more like a toy. I prefer the tiny size and same power, though.

I recommend this tool to everyone. Even with my complaints as stated, buy it.

Bring back the cradle, Skil (Bosch)!!

UPDATE: Swapping batteries in mine with LG Chem Li-Ion 18650 Cylindrical 3.7V 2800mAh has made these things amazing. The stock battery is 1300mah, so the speed and power feels like double with the upgraded battery. It holds a charge a lot longer, too. (these seem to die too quickly)

I've been in the cstr biz for 25 years and bought more tools than I can recount (thousands). I personally own perhaps 10 different drills, and have handled many dozens more of all styles and makes.

I recall a small drill I bought for my mother 25 years ago one of the first small battery operated drills what a joke could barely turn a screw and battery life was a joke quickly ended up in the garbage (before we learned to recycle batteries).

As such, I stayed clear of these small "personal" screw drivers all these years. But knowing battery advances in the meantime, decided to pick this little guy up on a whim price was reasonable and could always return it.

To my surprise, found this little guy perfect for the odd job around the house, where I wouldn't bother getting out a larger, more powerful cousins and instead use an ubiquitous screw driver that is slow, but gets the job done.

Did a bit of painting recently, and found it very handy to dissemble some large furniture (the led light was actually quite handy) and to take off wall switch plates. Drove 3/4" screws into dense wood with a surprisingly torquey motor using low speed. And the battery life is very good on my second charge after being around the house a month.

For what it is, this little screwdriver does its job quite well. 5/5

Yes, less than ideal charger, but hey, for $35 what do you expect? One thing I'd have preferred is a slot to store bits on the driver, or at least supply several reversible bits (flat/phillips combo etc)

I was looking only for a handy-dandy little tool which could be stuck in a pocket for those "mobile" repair jobs. This little tool is all that and more. Not only it is handy as can be, its battery life is astonishing. Last week I was able to use it as my sole driver to assemble 4 36" kitchen base cabinets (each requiring roughly 65 screw insertions and tightenings. Power lasted to the last and probably could have gone further but I ran out of cabinets.

The only problem I have is the directional switch is positioned right under where it is most comfortable/practical to put an index finger when using the tool. And it's easy to inadvertently push the switch while exerting drive pressure. Takes a while to get use to that, and even then it's not 100%. A redesign should relocate the switch away from the gripping area. But I can live with that little fault given the overall utility.

I bought this to replace the battery in my Tom Tom Go 720. It was easy to replace and the battery works fine. I only give it 3 stars because the battery life is much shorter than expected. I get, on average, about an hour to an hour and a half before needing to put on the charger.

Received it and installed it into my TomTom GPS Go730. So far no complains and working as expected. It is just a battery so I was not expecting ay problem.

Looked everywhere for a replacement battery for my NAV 740 that is manufacture discontinued.

I bought this battery based on the size, description, and power rating on thew sales page.

It was well priced and works perfectly for my needs.

You do need a very small hex key to remove screws on the case (Google for video on how to replace battery). I just bought a set of small hex keys from Lowe's for about $6 I think it was, so I have a whole set for later use. It was very difficult carefully removing the old battery foil wrap. Very sticky put finally pulled enough away to get a good hold of it and gently pull it back off of the old battery being careful not to use too much pulling force to keep from breaking the circuit board its laying on. After peeling foil back, had to gently pry loose old battery, again careful not to break circuit board. Then installed new batter in place of the old one, wrapped it back up in the foil, plugged in battery, and put everything back together as described in the video.

I was happy with the product like the other reviewers. This was temporary. The product was made by in China by Team Products (since gone under according to a Ripoff Report) and sold under the Coleman name. The one I bought came in a two pack with this inverter and a smaller Team Products/Coleman inverter (70-90 watts, no fan). Both inverters are dead and all fuses are in tact, including in vehicle. I expected better from Coleman.

I have an HP laptop that requires 180 watts to operate. It would not work in my car or on an airplane (typically 70 watt supply). I called HP (got nowhere) and finally found this transformer. It really works! I can use my power hungry laptop anywhere now.

This inverter is awesome....we use it to play our ipod bose speaker for tailgates right out of the trunk of our car. Our friend has one and we loved it so much we had to buy our own! I have many yard maintance equipment that requires this type of battery. I am able to use it on all my equipment. The equipment I have is DR brand type. Also it is half the price of other battery I have looked at. So far no problems starting my equipment or using the other battery as a back up for my security lights.
