I like to ride brevets a style of long-distance cycling that involves riding 200k, 300k, 400k, 600k, and longer rides. The battery in my Garmin Edge 705 is two years old and currently has a run time of about 16 hours. This will get me through a 200k or a 300k, but not the longer rides. I've been looking for an external power supply since I bought the Garmin and recently a rider on a 600k brevet I was hosting showed me the Gomadic.

It is rare that a company makes a product that does exactly what you need, exceeds your expectations, costs less that you expect, and delivers it quicker than you would expect possible. Gomadic did all these things.

I ordered it on Monday morning, I received a shipment email on Monday afternoon, and the product was on my doorstep when I got home from work on Wednesday. It's very simple a battery case to hold four AA batteries, some electronics, an on-off switch, and a green power led.

On Saturday morning I put new Duracell batteries in and connected it to my Garmin. The backlight came on which is standard for the Garmin Edge so I set the illumination level to the lowest setting (other than off) and started my ride for the day. Then I finished the ride with the external battery pack still powering the Garmin, then I left it on all evening, all night, all the next day. It's still powering the Garmin over 44 hours later on the same set of batteries. I don't know when the batteries will run out. I would have been satisfied with eight hours of run time.

You should also note that, unlike when you charge from a computer or a wall socket, the Garmin will continue to operate when connected to this external power supply.

Sometimes a product is perfect. This is one of those times. If you own a Garmin Edge and need an external power supply, this is the product for you.

I bought this bag because I wanted to keep my tender and everything together. When I received this bag I was taken away by how big it was. It was bigger than I thought it would be. This may be a little over-kill for some, but personally I like the extra room.

Five of the Battery Tender small bags will fit inside this one.

Note that none of the measurements stated in the product description

for this large bag are correct, as of Oct 10, 2012.

Actual measurements of bag ~ 7" x 9" wide, and 6 1/2" tall, and has two carrying straps.

(For comparison the battery in my car is 6 1/2" x 10" and 6 3/4 " tall)

I suggest this Battery Tender Carrying Pouch Large 500Large-0140.

This case will hold all that comes with the Battery Tender Plus ~

also the Battery Tender 25 ft extension cable ~

AND have an inside empty space of approximately 4" x 5" x 9" for other stuff ~

I had first ordered the Battery Tender 500-0017 utility bag pouch.

The UPC tag marks the size as 'Small". It measures 6" x 7 1/4" x 2".

The Battery Tender Plus and the cables that come with it will fit inside the small size,

but only a certain way with ease, and only before the cables are used.

After using the cables it's much harder to get those things back in the bag.

And it certainly wouldn't hold anything else.

When I order a Battery Tender 25 ft. extension cable,

knowing the small wasn't adequate, I order this large size bag.

This is a good idea, and the unit is convenient to keep in the pocket of your car. However, I found that using the charger continuously for an extended period of time causes it to heat up and it will eventually fail. Just using it for a few hours occasionally is OK, but don't leave it plugged in and connected overnight.

I contacted nature power and advised several factors which effects on out put power, in short, nature

power says that about 0.4A is still ok considering many many facts,(location on the earth, air mass etc).

That's logically true I think but then why my 20W solar panel makes more than its specification under this

Houston TX full sunlight. If the advice it true, nature power solar panel is really useless.

I guess internal wire and 12ft wire are too thin or maybe my unit had defects.

I returned and go refund and spent for bigger solid flame panel. no more folding panel.

First It's looking nice and I liked it. I tested Isc (short circuit current) it made only 0.39A after all.

On the other hand, my other 12V,7.5W monocrystalline makes Isc 0.6A under the same sun light condition.

Contacted nature power and advised several points and Isc should be around 1.2A but anyway it makes only

Isc 0.4A and he also started wondering about it. I suspect wiring are too thin for 12ft.

Anyway, it didn't work as advertised and I returned it. I was expected very much on this product so I am

quite upset.

If you want to try this product,ask other users for Isc, it should be 1.2A or at least 1 A.

I guess maybe this product won't work as it is advertised because if some internal wiring were wrong,

I would be able to find it by grabbing connections. I tried it but nothing was changed.so maybe that

how it is made.

I'd like to ask other users for Isc. If this my one was the only bad unit, I'd like to have a good one, but

I totally lost the trust on this kind of product, folding type solar panels.

The seller, first replied me 'We do not accept any open item return' but I told the reason and

they accepted the return.

The return item must be received by them within 30days from delivery to you, be careful about it.

I am waiting refund now.

I got is a few day days ago and I am trying to figure out its property.

It looks well made but there's only 2 hook up holes as it is shown on picture.

First I didn't care about it but it is actually hard to use, it should have those holes

at least 4 or 6.

Wiring is too thin to have spec 18W and 12 feet wiring from the panel is good

length for doing anything, but again wiring is too thin for 1 A.(18W) panel.

April 21,2013 Houston TX, it is a gorgeous day, really full sun light.

This panel, at the connector of 12feet cable from the panel, gives only

Open circuit voltage, 19.8V and Short circuit amp 0.34A.

Depends on the panel angle, it changes to 0.31-0.39A but never hit even 0.4A.

It is 18W panel means so that it sould give at least 1A at 18V.

I put in a fridge for a while to let it cool down, and tested again, then voltage

hit Voc20.2V and Isc 0.42A,

My another panel which is actually 7.5W, 12V monocrystalline and a half size of this

Nature power 18W panel, is actually makes Voc15.6V and Isc 0.55A.

I doubut the Nature power 18W is something wrong.

If the panel spec is really 18W panel, the cause making such reduction of current

is I guess only such thin wiring. I can't see internal wiring which connecting panel

to panel but I can touch and feel it is also quite thin.

I'll ask customer support for suspicious cause and may try replacing or return to amazon.

For $20, this EDUP streaming music device does a pretty good job. I'm using this to stream music from my iphone 5 to my car's stereo. My car has a 3.5mm auxilliary jack and I currently use a long cord to connect the phone to the stereo. It's cumbersome and the wire always gets in the way.

Here's what the EDUP does well: (1) Easy to pair with my iphone 5 (just push the button for about 7 seconds until the lights flash and it's done). (2) Easy to turn on (just hold the button for about 3 seconds until the light flashes and the audio indicator plays over the car's speakers to let you know it's on). (3) Easy to turn off (just push the button for about 5 seconds until the light flashes and the audio tone tells you it's off). (4) Sounds just as good as plugging my phone directly into the auxilliary audio port in my car. (5) Can play and charge at the same time via the 12V power outlet in my car -I leave it plugged in all the time. (6) Falls asleep to conserve power when not used for about 20 minutes. (7) When a call comes in, I am able to turn on my bluetooth earpiece and the audio switches from the EDUP to my earpiece appropriately. (8) Comes with a short male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm jack (shown in the picture), a male 3.5mm to male 3.5 cable in case the little jack won't physically fit in your car (I prefer the cable because the auxilliary port is in the bottom of the center console of my car, which is tough to reach with all my junk in there -the cable allows me to put the EDUP on top of the stuff in the center console which is easier to reach), and a short micro USB charging cable.

Here's what could be improved: (1) While the on/off function isn't horrible, it could be easier... maybe toggle between on/off without having to count 3 or 5 seconds depending on which operation you want (seems like the device could figure out that if "I'm currently on and the user is pressing the button, the user wants to me to turn off now")... maybe separate buttons... maybe move the light indicator so it isn't directly on the button (which ends up being under the finger that is pressing the buttons). (2) I'd love it if this would automatically wake up when I turn on the car... maybe it could recognize that power from the 12V outlet is off and go to sleep and then when the power is restored, it could wake up. I realize the EDUP also runs on battery power, so this may not be technically feasible given that it will "always" have some form of power. (3) When I hang-up the bluetooth earpiece after taking a call, it would be awesome if the EDUP would resume playing music. As it is now, the music pauses when I switch over to the earpiece and I have to actually press the "play" button on the phone to get the music to resume after I hang up the earpiece. I think this is probably a function of the phone, not the EDUP, though.

If the EDUP could do #1 on the things on the "to be improved" list, I would have given it 5 stars. If it could everything on my "to be improved" list, I would have given it 5 stars AND I would have been willing to pay an additional $10 or $20 for the device. Other than that, it's a great little device and does what I had hoped it would do.

UPDATED: I started to get really irritated with the "hold the button for 3 seconds to turn on and 5 seconds to turn off" functionality. It seems that I could never get the hang of what 3/5 seconds felt like and it constantly took me 2 or 3 tries to get this thing to turn on/off. I purchased a different bluetooth receiver that doesn't have a battery. With the new receiver, when there's power, it's on. When there's no power, it's off. No on/off switch to deal with. I like it much better for my particular application.

I use this in the Aux port on my Harley so that I don't have more wires strung to my phone for music. Works great, sounds great! Has a decent battery lifestarts beeping over the system when it's about to die. A little confusing to power up/pair/power off, but not too complex. Great especially for the price!

This was a surprisingly good product! I was originally going to buy the HTC version, but that was about $50 dollars. This "generic" version worked just as well. I charged it overnight, popped it into the aux jack in my car, and had my phone connect to it, and BAM. Quality music was able to play for about 6-8 hours straight. The device also turns off automatically once you leave the car for a short period of time. So if you take your phone with you the device is smart enough to just power off. My only gripe is that you have to turn it on every time you get in the car. No problem though, just a short 2 second press on the button. Flashing Blue light means streaming. Flashing Red/Blue light means pairing mode.

Received the item very quickly in the mail (as the seller I had bought from promised)... Used it for 4-1/2 hours straight with no charge and the quality was superb!... I bought this to use with my Sony SRS-P7 passive speakers while in my house and i had ordered one of those Eco Extreme Waterproof Speaker Cases (from Grace Digital) to become my designated outdoor speaker (that i can't wait to get and try out, especially for the beach / river)... Felt I needed to go the Bluetooth route... because, most people that come over are very hesitant about hooking up there smartphones directly to capable audio players / speakers via the aux (3.5mm) input, unlike mp3 players... because trying to separate people from their phones is almost the equivalence of taking somebody off of life support or so it seems... but with this little devices Bluetooth receiver function, all of that becomes remedied!... since anyone can pair up their smartphone and take their hand at playing the DJ (even though everyone I know pretty much listens to internet radio exclusively)... since internet radio is definitely the preferred listening paradigm over anyone's "personal" mp3 player...

All in all, I think this is a sweet device and works just as good as the Miccus Blubridge $40 dollar version (which might just come with a cable or two extra)... which I saw youtube videos on both products and both seemed the same quality wise... but still, I just have to highly recommend that anyone who is looking for a reliable, wireless, and qualified solution (that's much better than any fm transmitter, if your attempting a wireless solution)... to stop, look no further and then order one of these guys!... I have no idea why there are no reviews for this device. Best Buy, Amazon, Wal Mart, etc. all sell this device, but I couldn't find a review for this when researching portable bluetooth speakers. I decided to buy it anyway because of the features it has at this price point. It has the ability, like all others, to stream music, but it also has a microphone built in so it can be used as a speakerphone. I just made some calls with it to test. People on the other end said I sounded clearer than I normally do when on the phone. I could hear other people with no problems at all. I have this paired with my Samsung Galaxy S3. That took all of 45 seconds to do. So easy. I tested voice commands in Google Now with this device. Google Now was easily able to understand what I was saying via this device. The music comes out clearly and sharp. I was surprised by how much bass this thing has. Don't get me wrong, this won't replace a large $200 JamBox or some other Bose system, but for $40 or less this is the most amazing piece of bluetooth speaker equipment out there. I've tested a bunch and am extremely happy with this one. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a portable speaker system, bluetooth or not. It also comes with a 3.5mm jack and cable for devices without bluetooth. This will be amazing at the beach, at the office, in the shower, at a picnic, etc. It can easily fill a room with sound for a gathering. If this lasts a long time then I'd feel comfortable paying up to $100 for this device. It truly is that good. I will be buying TekNMotion products again. Thanks for a great device. It's exactly what I was looking for!

Hey everybody!!

I just received this today. I love almost everything about it. Easy to pair, sounds fantastic and has a quality, heavyweight feel. But it has no volume control other than through the device with which it will be used.

Because of that, I only gave it four stars. But I changed my "star count" because *I* didn't read the description closely. Volume control is one of the things I need in a Bluetooth speaker.

Other than that, it's perfect!

This is a great little speaker. It looks very sleek and modern.

I use it for my iPhone and my macbook air, and it works great with both. I do have to plug in the speaker line into my air speaker jack because the bluetooth doesn't seem to connect.

The sound is pretty good...much louder than my iphone and laptop. It lasts a long time before the battery dies (more than 3 hours on one charge!), which is amazing.

My biggest concern (and why I only gave it a 3) is with the bluetooth. My phone needs to be very close to the speaker otherwise I lose the connection. I've seen other similarly priced products that work with much larger ranges.

This is unfortunately not the case with this device. The plug is placed in such a way that it isn't possible to use a nearby outlet on a powerstrip. There is some added convenience of a built in car charger (single usb), but it requires taking the charger back and forth with you. There was also a bit of sparking on plugging this in, not much, but other chargers did not do this. It is capable of putting out a decent amount of current, enough for larger devices. Overall though, the convenience is hampered by the design.

In that configuration it provides two usb ports for charging with a total of 5w of power. The round usb port can be pried loose from the box and it is a very small single car charger converting your cigarette port into a usb charger. No cables are included.

Negatives the round part can be difficult to pull out with your fingertips or nails; the ac wall prongs cause the adapter to take up most of a normal two plug wall outlet. It is possible to plug in something else above it, but only a slim lamp plug or similar.

This item has one module that is a car charger--the bottom bit that you see in the picture, which pulls out to use as a car charger. Or, as you see it there in the picture it inserts in the other component which plugs into a standard wall plug unit. This way it has two USB charging ports--perfect for my iPad and keyboard.

It worked fantastically well all weekend under pretty constant use. The unit did get warm, but never hot.

I hadn't realized things like this existed: now I can't imagine traveling without it for my electronics.

My only beef is there are no instructions, but then again, I'm a computer dummy and I figured it out, so...guess it's not that hard! :D

I'd say this is more useful at home than in car because you get to use both of the usb ports with a plug into the wall. The bonus with this is you get to take the small part out and plug it into your car's cigarette port and there you have a usb port. It's pretty convenient and useful.

This is a very nice product, but the directions point out that if someone presses the Test Button while the trailer is hooked up to the truck, then the electrical charge sent through the wire to the truck can destroy your trailer-break controller. If the elves doing the yearly state inspections can't keep their hands off the test button, I may have to replace this nice break-away switch with one without a test button!

Pretty easy to install. Directions are clear. Lead wires twice as long would be nice though. I bought this to replace an older VERY similar unit that was sun bleached and started to fall apart. I don't believe the older unit was UV protected. I'm hoping this one lasts more than 2 years.

The product is definitely a good quality, but I did not realise that the case was going to be so much bigger than the Nokia Asha 311 for which it was ordered. The phone swims around in the case, but it will have to do for now until we can purchase another with a better fit.

got this for my HTC Aria from another site over a year ago, had to order by the data cable for my phone. This is such a convenient product. Pleasant looking, very sleek and modern, nice weight in the hand and fits in my palm. The item listed here was a replacement for mine ( I dropped it in a parking lot and the cap cracked, I am still using it and it works fine)I like the efficiency of this little gizmo enough to now have a back up. My husband and son were actually so impressed with it (thats how I dropped it.I was showing them the charger while on a pit stop during a road trip) that I got the charger listed here,for them for stocking stuffers this last Christmas. The charger listed here came with two different data cables (the package lists: "Compatible with: Blackberry, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Erickson" )... I have used this handy charger on several extended trips and "oh wait does my cell need to be charged?" has ceased to be an issue. I can heartily recommend this charger.

This thing works great and the built quality on it is superb.

The coiled cord is a little bit of a hassle and it's hard to manage around the stick shift in my car. But, it's not a deal breaker by any means.

The LED light is also a little bit bright for night driving. And while it looks slick, it's a bit unnecessary, really.

I found if you just flip the charger upside down the LED will shine more towards the floor and not so much in your face.

I've also put a quarter on the Motorola logo before to block the light. It's the perfect size and stays put while driving.

All in all for the price this really is one of the best car changers I've ever used.
