A great product from a fine company. I bought a Schumacher jumper box 10yrs. ago from Sears, it lasted 7 yrs. (YEA!!!). I bought a Die Hard jumper box from Sears, it lasted about 2yrs. (BOO!!!) The Die Hard cost more than the Schumacher too (BOOO!!!). So I started looking around for another Schumacher jumper box.

When I found this on Amazon I scooped it up. It's saved me twice and several stranded strangers that I found out in world.

Buy the jumper box with the biggest power rating and one or two DC Lighter outlets, but the least number of other exotic extras..... Jumper boxes are meant to get you started, not be the Be-All-&-End-All device.

When it's -20 and you've left your lights on or done some other dumb thing to drain your battery.... you just want to get started..... This does the job ! ! ! !

Do plug it in and juice it up according to the maker's recommendations. I do it about once a week in the winter (I bring it indoors at night it's very cold out) and at least once a month in the summer. I did this with the first one and got good results.

when i checked on this product about all the feedbacks were bad.this is a very good brand so i gave it a try.very poor packaging. just small very heavy box onside a larger box.when i arrived i did just as it stated and immediately put it to be charging.i checked eerything first and the lights do not work properly when checking to see if it is holding a charge.i hate amazon.com and do not even know why i bought from them.you can never find anyone that knows anything about the products.i am waiting now to hear bach from schumacher.buy at your own risk

Perfect replacement for original battery # 690071 or 691235 but the literature does not say so until you get the battery with its packaging. It fits and works on tool set # 840055 which includes drill # 691234 and other tools. I will never again buy Craftsman tools because Sears deliberately changes their batteries and chargers so that they are never backwards compatible, and you have to buy new batteries at more than the cost of the original tool set. Batteries are the weakest link on portable tools, so buy with battery replacement in mind-get them early before they are discontinued.

Make sure you order this ONLY for the exact drill model number...even if the pic looks like it will work. In addition to not working for my husband's drill, the seller's customer service was extremely poor/ non-existant.

Even it fits my drill and charger, they changed the battery pack. So there is no 3 contacts, but only two side ones. (the third towards the center battery which is on my battery packs 691034 is missing on this one).

This means that my battery charger 690507 can not (will not) charge the battery pack.

That is it.

If you are more electronics savvy, i looked inside the battery what was actually changed. There is just totaly same inside (even exactly the same NICD batteries) with one exception from minus pole there is a connection to the third above mentioned pole via some piece of small unidentified electronic device (condensator or resistor probably). So i took one from my expired battery pack and made it in about 15 minutes with my solder. It works now. I guess manufacturer wants you to buy new charger or the whole thing..... They have to eat i guess.

The referenced (and advertised) item is NOT the item that was shipped. Without notice of backorder status or requested permission from AUTO BARN to ship alternative item number, a different item #691240 was sent. After inquiry with the shipper, they admitted that the sent item was a replacement for the other 'back-ordered' item. Research on the shipped item revealed that there was a factory recall for the shipped item 691240 due to 'possible fire hazard'. Via AUTO BARN, I requested a statement from the mfg.'r that the shipped item was equivolent to that ordered and that there was no fire hazard either. The shipper AUTO BARN has refused to respond or acknowledge my concerns. I have requested a refund or replacement for the correct ordered item. So far, no response. Reference AUTO BARN Order # 53345.

I bought this Car charger because I was going halfway across the U.S. and back, which is like a 60 hour trip. I knew I would be using my phone and laptop, so I bought this so I could charge both of them. Even with the great reviews and price I was hesitant when buying this convertor since no reviews talked much about its capacity to run a portable DVD player, but I bought it anyway hoping it would work. It did! The size is reasonable, it goes in and out of the outlet easily (a complaint on many other brands), and it works! The DVD battery got low, so we plugged it into the convertor (crossing our fingers, of course), and it worked perfectly the whole Thanksgiving trip. My kids are going to be very happy on our 25-hour car trip this Christmas. Thanks!

I already own a Tripp Lite 375w inverter, but it's bulky and noisy. So I decided to buy the Bestek 75w.

My test:

The USB and AC outlet both worked well to charge my cell phone. But when I plugged in my MacBook, it wouldn't charge. I thought something might be wrong with the Macbook cord, so I tried it on the Tripp Lite, and it didn't charge either! The Tripp Lite worked previously so I was almost sure the Macbook or its cord had the problem. When I got back home the Macbook charged fine on my home AC. So I went back to the car and plugged the Macbook into the Tripp Lite charging light comes on! Then the Bestek no light. Tripp Lite again no light! I waited a few minutes and tried the Tripp Lite again light comes on! The Bestek was doing something strange. I then use my Kill-a-Watt on the Bestek. Turns out the AC frequency fluctuates wildly during my short measurement I saw it briefly dip to 40 Hz. This is way too low and was probably causing issues with the Macbook (Tripp Lite was more stable and my brief test didn't show it dropping below 50 Hz). Power couldn't be the issue the Macbook adapter is rated at 60w max, so even if I add 10% as the Bestek instructions recommend, it's still below 75w. I have a 3rd gen Toyota Prius but I assume the DC ports act just like non-hybrids.

Note that other laptops probably would work, but mine didn't. Bottom line is that the low frequency is not acceptable because the standard is 50-60 Hz. I wonder if the other Bestek inverters have the same issue.

Other thoughts:

I like the compact form factor and the swiveling body; the latter helped with plugging it into confined DC ports like the one in the console box between the seats in the Prius. The AC outlet seemed a bit tight; when the Bestek was in the DC port and I wanted to remove an AC device, I was afraid my pulling would eventually damage the DC connector, or worse yet, the port. USB port was just the right tightness.

Used this product on an American Airlines flight and it worked great. You can check on Seatguru.com to see if your particular seat has a power outlet, and if it does, you have a great solution. Your laptop adapter may not work because this can supply a maximum of 75 watts (I have an iGo adapter that delivers 130 watts. Fortunately, I have a separate adapter for it).

I purchased the PROMOTION BESTEK 75Watt 12 Volt DC to 110-120 Volt AC Power Inverter With USB Adapter MRI711C-3 on a Thursday and it arrived on Saturday. I got this product for an inflatable bed I use when camping. I have not gone camping with it yet but I did inflate and deflate the bed I use two times in a row and it worked great, just as good as the wall outlets in my home. The unit was slightly warm to the touch after about ten minutes of continuous use but not warm enough to warrant any concern. Thus far this product has done what I got it for and it has done it well.

Let's face it, when you purchase an item online you're never sure what you're getting until it arrives, and and WOW this one was a HIT! This one is NICE.. Very high quality... This is a handy USB charger that has saved my butt a couple of times when my iPod Touch ran out of juice (boy, using Wi-Fi with the Touch sure kills the battery fast, but that's another review). The interchangeable plugs are quite clever, but the assortment that came with the charger did not fit my cel phones (micro USB and an LG plug). You can buy additional plugs from the manufacturer, but they are kind of expensive.

I received the charger. First it's all in black color. Looked not as good as it showed in the picture. Second, it only comes with the mini USB tip. In the picture, it shows 5 tips in total for different phones. But I only received 1 mini USB tip. Also, there's no LED light indicators. The first time I tried to connect the charger with 4 AA batteries to my iphone, it's not charging. Then I had to replace 4 AA batteries and it charged. Since there's no ON/OFF light showing on the charger, so you won't know if it's the AA battery's problem, the charger's problem or the phone's problem. Not worth the money. The product looked so cheap.

A MUCH better phone charger than the others I have! I use 4 rechargable AA batteries in it and it lasts as long as my phone battery; probably longer if you use alkalines! Smaller and lighter than my phone too! Make sure you have your own USB cable though!

I went Camping for a week with the scouts, and this device got quite the workout. It takes 4 AA batteries, and you get roughly 75% charge off a set of batteries. We went through a lot of batteries, but everyones phones stayed charged. It will bring it up to the 75% in about an hour. Swap batteries, and you can top it off at a full 100%. Way faster than the solar powered chargers. Aside from it taking 2 sets of batteries to get to 100% charge, I love this product.

I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for my roommate, but we both made the mistake of not testing right away. Had no idea we wouldn't NEED to use it in the car until after the return limit, and of course one of us needed within days AFTER the return limit, so our mistake there for waiting until needing instead of testing it right away. Neither worked, both were just plastic pieces of junk that had to be tossed. We tried both in her car and mine to be sure it wasn't just one of our outlets. As convenient as having the ability to charge my phone and use GPS at once or charge both mine and a passenger's phone, went back to just one at a time. I'll invest in something else if going on a long trip and need the ability.

I got this product and it was packaged poorly. Also, it worked about once or twice, but after a few days use, it started smoking. LITERALLY. It shorted out and didn't work since. I would not recommend getting this item. I certainly paid more than what the thing was worth. I will have to pay more from my pocket if I want something like this that is actually good quality.

Sent a email and no response, trying to find out about the selector switch for different types of batteries.Do think they could have designed the charger better with a switch that states gel, agm, lead acid, deep cycle, and a volt meter would have been better. This is a lot of money for this charger and you can find some with better information and cheaper with a service department. August 19th, Today Dan from Associated contacted me, he did explain that as long as you leave the charger on sealed selection everything should be find and you will not screw up expensive gels or agm's. Still think they can have a better design instead of blinking lights and 3 positions. A volt meter to show progress, a timer, a selector for deep cycle, agm gel lead acid 6v or 12 v. Will up date more with further performance updates.

To me this radio works better than the small two way radios, thats why I bought it. Yes it's a little bigger than the 2 way radios, but what I really wanted was more clearly transmission and a longer range which is what I got.

This is a reasonable product for the price. I liked that I could power it with the included car adapter without any batteries required. With the small attached antenna, it seems the range from inside a car is probably only a few hundred yards. So I bought a magnetic roof mounted antenna at Radio Shack for $35 (I later saw one at a truck stop for $20), plus a $5 adapter to convert the normal CB antenna plug to the smaller plug on the Midland. This improved reception, I'm estimating to about a mile radius (my estimate is based on conversations I hear from truckers in the opposite direction on the freeway; at 60 mph (so about 120 mph differential speed), a conversation comes in and then fades out in about 1 minute total. But a 1 mile radius is still pretty pitiful for a CB, you really don't hear much of the chatter even on a busy truck freeway like the I-10 between California and Arizona. And transmission seemed even weaker; I couldn't get anybody from the opposite direction to hear me, but rather only people a few hundred yards in the same direction. So in short, if you want something to chat with a caravan buddy, two of these would likely work fine and are a great price (and you don't have to mess with batteries like with many newer handheld two-way radios). Add an antenna if you want the bare minimum ability to communicate with truckers. For anything more, you have to lay down more bucks for a much more powerful CB radio that can blast a signal and can pick up signals much farther away.

For those who buy a CB for their kids to have fun on family road trips, be aware that some truckers have really really foul mouths (I have a very high tolerance for those things, and even I think some of the things a few drivers say are just downright gross). It can still be fun, but be ready to turn down the volume!

I think you're missing a fundamental fact about handheld radios. They don't work well inside of a car. For people who are used to mobile CB's with an external antenna, of much greater length, sitting out on top of the car and using the body of the car as a ground plane... you just can't compare that to a handheld. You're going to hate it. If you're inside of the car, the metal body of the car is destroying most of your transmission. You need to get the antenna outside of the car. If that means getting the necessary adapters and wiring your handheld to a magnetic mount antenna on your roof, then so be it. You will find you radio is getting out MUCH farther with that external antenna.

I've bought 2 of these. Outdoor reception is great. Sound clarity is better than the FRS radios a friend has. The only drawback has been poor reception from inside a vehical. They do have the standard jack for an external antenna which can be picked up for around $20. Mag mount to your car and reception is great.

I have used Save A Battery for both 12V and 6V for more than 8 years. The most recent version, 3015, is very informative with options for viewing and not viewing the display. It also has alarms to alert you to any possible battery faults or low charge which allows you to turned off the alarm should you wish. The cables give you length for that longer reach and connections for charging more than one battery as well as attachments for different battery posts and positions in a car or bike. Even a battery that seems weak and tending to be thrown away has been brought back to life saving time to remove and replace as well as money for expensive batteries. I always visit with the folks of Save A Battery at car shows and enjoy their passion and time at their booths. I have never regretted my purchases from them.

I used this to remove tire lug nuts, auto repairs, boat retrofitting, and even use it out it's design specification as a cement mixer. As of current, I don't have enough power on all my cordless drill to finish this task-normal drill works fine on lighter sheetrock joint compound but cement, its a different ball game. I just used a 1/2 socket to fit my heavy duty sheet rocker mixer tool from Menard and make life easy on cement mixing in a bucket. I would recommend this to any one. Electrical engineer by trade, 25 yrs of auto mechanic experience, nice tool for remote location. I have not use my air line anymore since this does the job.

This battery is shipped without acid; so it must be filled and charged by the purchaser before use. This bit of detail, as critical as it is, should be included in the product description and it is not. I had to purchase the acid from a local source, fill the battery (no, do not try this if you do not know how to do it) and charged it with a 12-volt charger in series with a spare 6-volt battery I had. Who has a 6-volt battery charger at their disposal anyway? If you can go through this kind of trouble then this is a good value. I've been using this battery on my Lambretta TV175 for three months now with zero issues.
