I would recommend this product, but don't expect it to fully charge your phone! It's not the charger, it's how most smart phones charge in cars; they require a lot of power to full charge.

It works well, but the little red light doesn't always turn on even though it is charging. Not a big deal, just be sure to check on your phone before you think it's not working.

compared to the majority of cell phone chargers sync cables I have owned this cord is kind of on the shorter end. it is very cute, and the colors are nice. the cable does not look terribly cheap but it broke within the first month of me having it, which I can't get terribly upset about because it wasn't very expensive... still it would be nice if it worked longer than a month and if the cord was a little longer. also as soon as the usb is plugged into a port the cables smiley faces are lit red and stay red. I was thinking that they were only red when power was transferred through the cable to my phone to show it was charging, but that is not the case. it just lighting up because one end is plugged in makes the light function kind of unnecessary and annoying, but i guess it does make it easier to find the end in the dark?

I'm impressed by this product. I've used other battery chargers before but the SE-1275A is the best ever. The things I like best are: Wide-mouthed alligator clips that clamp on easily and don't slip off, automatic shutoff when a battery is fully charged, the rugged steel cabinet and overall quality construction.

If I could change anything about it, I would suggest adding readable instructions to the back of the cabinet, a longer electrical supply cord (one or two extra feet would be perfect), and a larger analog meter.

You get an answering machine, and never receive a return call, ever !

The Documents leave out MANY ways that this item will respond to charge levels and charge cycles of various batteries, so it's off to the internet or trial and error if your unit does something that you don't understand. One of the tricks to this charger is to start out on 2 amp for about an hour, then raise up to 15 amp. When the charger reads full charge at 15 amps, drop to 2 amp and top the battery off for a full charge. It will take about 6 hours to charge a depleted battery.

The jump start barely started my car,but it did the trick,and it's a very hard to start car that sometimes won't jumpstart, so I was impressed.

It helps to charge a very dead battery for about 15 minutes before you jump start it with this unit.

For the price, everyone should own one of these. It's a great product, who's only MAJOR FLAW is the embarrassing lack of customer service. Schumacher Management should be ashamed of themselves.

Heavy steel and copper. Thats what counts in a charger and this one has both. Don't buy the lightweights from China. Made in Mexico, but its an old standby US design.

OKAY its a year later... this one died early on they sent a new one after I retutned the bad one. That one died too. They quickly sent another without any return needed, and the rep sounded like he was Po'd at his company for allowing so much junk to go out the door. Now I have two working and one dead for spare parts, and even after the hassle these are still the most for the least on the market. You only other option is sears, and they appear to be made by Schumaker also, or harbor freight which should send its electric stuff with a death certificate.

I have only used the charger in the 2A charge mode. It has fully met my need to recharge the battery in an auto that is used infrequently. I do wish that the instruction manual described more fully the changes that occur in the display as the charging progresses.

Own a unlighted version of this charger. Bought this model as a gift for a relative. They preform their function well. Very durable and dependable. Although not as quick charging as higher amp models, it seems to add a bit of longevity to battery life when using low amp charge. The 6 volt side is a plus for garden tractor 6V batteries and the older dual voltage diesel truck batteries. Just a added note that these types of chargers are NOT waterproof. The lighted charge indicator meter is a plus for low light use & letting you know the unit is plugged in. This is a "Manual" charger; one has to check the progress of the charge every so often. It did charge a fully drained group 42 12V battery in 7.5 hours. One thing the other solid state chargers won't do is charge a drained battery. I received this item very quick and tested it immediately. I was afraid it would not fit or be practicle or even compatible with the vent in my 06 Jeep Liberty but it works splendidly. I would give it 5 stars if the the brace leg were a bit more stiff so that it didn't slip off the lip of of the dash contour when hitting a big pothole but otherwise it syays in place in town and surprisingly works very well with my Galaxy S III. I prefer to use it mostly in a landscape position and this was the perfect solution.

However, there were a few things lacking. Under the "Technical Details" for this replacement kit, it clearly says "Kit Includes Everything You Need to Revive Your Garmin Nuvi 680 GPS" but this isn't the case. One, you need a "sharp object" as they call it, in order to push in the spring casing to release the antenna. Nothing that was included with the packaging does the job. Two, the small phillips screwdriver that they include in the package was too small for the screws on my Garmin Nuvi 680 circuit board. In fact the screwdriver is so much smaller that I couldn't even feel it slipping on the screw which lead me to nearly stripping out the first screw which would have tanked the whole project and made my Garmin worthless. My last complaint which is very minor is that the video does not do a good job of showing exactly how to remove the spring case. The camera angle doesn't do the user any good. I spent probably 15 minutes carefully poking around looking for where this release point was. I was able to find a guide on ifixit that had a great closeup of exactly where to push to release the spring.

On the plus side, the small screwdriver that DOES work was magnetized which made life so much easier than it would have been if they hadn't done this.

In the end my Garmin has a new battery and that saved me about $100. I'm giving this product three stars because I was a few flecks of metal away from making it impossible to change out the battery. It does work, you just need some extra tools, and in my case another website for that one pic, and you need to be very careful along the way.

The tools and battery are just what you need, but the video is a bit lacking for someone that hasn't taken a unit apart previously. A diagram showing where the retractable pin is actually located would really help when removing the antennae. Also, beware of flying spring when you perform that step it's under tension and keeps the pin in place.

Also, the video doesn't stress the importance of how careful you really need to be when you separate the LCD display from the circuit board the ribbon cable connections are extremely fragile, and if you break one you might as well toss the whole unit in the trash right then and get a new Garmin.

I really didn't want to buy another cell phone or get my charge port fixed. i need my cell! so i found this product on amazon and gave it a shot. Ok the good is that it charges your battery. The bad is that it takes 3 hours to charge, your battery has to be placed inside a device and then plugged into the wall or car charger. There is a red light indicator that turns blue when fully charged. This light turned blue after 1 hour on a dead cell. and when i put batt back in cell, batt was still a dead cell. So i changed where i plugged in device . I just plugged it in another socket in the house and that time it charged for the full 3 hours. This has happened time and time again but as long as when i change sockets and it charges then i would recommend this product to someone.Its a good product if you don't want to buy another cell or get it fixed and if you don't mind not being able to talk while cell batt is charging cause you have to take batt out in order to charge it.Also it has only two copper connecters that touches the copper connectors on batt. At 1st i thought hey wait this thing has only 2 copper connectors that touch batt, will it charge, YES. Ok you have to let left connector touch left connector on batt and right connector touch the right one on batt. the middle connector on batt doesn't have to have a copper connector touching it in order for to charge.

I bought this unit because there is no cooling fan, and rated 100W continuous. It makes no sound at all. Instruction book states it creates a modified sine wave for AC power, not the standard square wave which can lead to excessive heating. Modified sine wave was exactly what I wanted.

I have powered a GPS unit through the USB charging port together with a laptop PC, with the PC operating and battery charging, no problems. Unit did not get hot. I'm thinking I should get another.

Caution, the inverter plugs into the dashboard 12V car adapter quite tightly. Take care when removing the inverter from the dashboard by holding the dashboard 12V car adapter in place while rocking the inverter back-and-forth to remove, so as to not pullout the 12V car adapter from the dash.

The fit needs to be snug so the inverter does not work loose from the dash, but I think it is a bit too tight. I give it a Good (4) rating because of the tight fit, otherwise it would be Excellent(5).

To try out this unit I put our two-bulb desk lamp in the car, put brand new 60 and 40 Watt incandescent bulbs in it (to load it to the rated 100 Watts) and ran it on the way to work and back. It performed wonderfully. The adjustable neck let it fit into either of the cigarette lighter jacks. Power held true even while idling for a train slowly leaving the Container Port and for a traffic accident to clear on the way home. The unit was warm to the touch but certainly not hot at the end of each commute, even after running constantly at its rated full load. For reference, the unit performed this well in a VW "New Beetle".

Popular Mechanics magazine had recommended the purchase of a Black & Decker PI100AB 100-Watt Power Inverter for hurricane preparedness. When I looked at these on Amazon.com, it was clear ordinary consumers were not as thrilled as Popular Mechanics with that unit. But the inverter was still a good idea and Amazon.com also offered this model from Stanley which showed a much higher customer satisfaction rating. Clearly I share the high opinion of those previous reviewers and hope that this review will, in turn, benefit someone else.

Originally, I gave this a 5 star review but now it gets one star and is getting returned after a real road trip and has to go back. When I first received the unit I thought it was great. I put it through a few hours testing locally in my two cars with MP3 players and smart phones. It did great. However, just a few days later we took a real road trip of about 12 hours. We didn't need the device for a few hours so kept it stowed away. Then I charged one small mp3 player and started charging an an Android phone. About 20 minutes later the unit died, or so it seemed. At the next stop we checked our fuses because nothing else would work in the cigarette power adapter either. It was a blown fuse. Blow fuses happen so we replaced it. I resumed charging the Android phone with the power off and not even 15 minutes later it died again. At the next stop we replaced the fuse again and decided not to use the unit again on the trip in case it caused worse problems than a blown fuse. At our destination, a family member was curious about this and tried the Stanley in his car with his mp3 player. This time it blew the fuse in his car in just a few minutes. His car was nearly brand new. I knew then there was something defective with the inverter sent to me. It seemed like a great idea and was very quiet opposed to other inverters I've had in the past. Perhaps its this quietness that caused the problems? So it's going back to Amazon. For the record we bought a no-name inverter in the same form factor as this Stanley at a truck stop on the way back and it operated during the whole trip home without any problems.

Dead silent, runs cool, charges almost anything. A friend's EEE PC refused to charge, but there are all sorts of warnings on the manual about certain products that dislike the "regenerated sine wave" this inverter generates. Please note that it plugs very tightly into the cigarette adapter. This is by design. You don't want poor electrical contact on something designed to draw more than the usual amount of current. Make sure you hold your socket in place with the other hand when unplugging this unit and you'll be OK.

I bought this Coby charger because the two "Coby 4 GB Video MP3 Player with FM Radio (Blue)" I recently bought for my son and myself did not come with one. I find it easier to charge items with the house electricity instead of the computer. That it can charge both of our mp3 players at the same time is nifty, too.

We've only had the charger a few days, but it does not get warm when it is plugged in. That was a relief to me because I had, at one time in the past, another brand's USB wall charger that would get extremely hot, which I'm assuming was not a safe thing to be happening.

The plug prongs fold down when unplugged, and that is nice if ever I need to travel with it, or lay it in a drawer.

UPDATE: 05/13/2012 -I've now had this product over a year. It is used several times a week and is working great, still.

UPDATE: 04/23/2013 -I've had this charger for about 2 years now, and it is still working great. Because some friends with Kindle Fires have asked me this, I'd like to add, that while you can use this charger to charge your Kindle Fires, please remember that this product's output is 5V, 1A; -it will be a slow charge, and maybe take longer than you were hoping for.
